Favored Nations Entertainment is proud to announce the September 27th CD release of Acoustic Gypsy Live by L.A. Guns (Tracii Guns, guitar; Danny Nordahl, bass; Chad Steward, drums; Jizzy Pearl, vocals, Teddy “Zig Zag” Andreadis, keyboards, Muddy Stardust; guitar and back-up vocals; Doni Gray, percussion). Produced, mixed and mastered by Grammy winner Neil Citron, this is the first acoustic album by the acclaimed Los Angeles band in their 29-year history, recorded at The Hotel Café in Hollywood. L.A. Guns will embark on a national tour in September to support the CD.
What makes Acoustic Gypsy Live so startling is its nuanced attention-to-detail – a musical awareness that L.A. Guns, who never diluted the manic hysteria of their songs one iota in their previous records, relishes in on Acoustic Gypsy Live. With a gorgeous lead guitar solo by Tracii, the CD’s opener, “Crystal Eyes,” hits a bulls-eye with its beauty and clarity-of-vision. Stark, dramatic, simplistically pristine, the inherent harmonic structure of the song itself reaches that part of the soul where honesty is a given, not a constructed artifice. The song cruises to completion to set the scene for the kind of album that no one—including the band itself—even knew was in them. VocalistJizzy still works up the growl, as evidenced on “One Way Ticket.”
Tracii started L.A. Guns while still in high school in 1982. The original singer, Michael Jagosz, was replaced by Axl Rose. Signed to PolyGram in ’87, their self-titled debut, with Phil Lewis replacing Rose, sold over a million copies, as did Cocked and Loaded (1989) andHollywood Vampires (1991).
DUFF MCKAGAN’S LOADED RETURN TO THE STATES – READIES UPCOMING FEATURE FILM THE TAKING
~New Album Of The Same Title Recently Released By Eagle Rock Entertainment~
Duff McKagan’s Loaded, have just returned from a European trek and, are about to go into production for their upcoming feature film The Taking. This rock ‘n’ roll flick, reminiscent of The Beatles’ “A Hard Day’s Night” and Led Zeppelin’s “The Song Remains The Same,” is a series of “vignettes” that explores the lyrical content of their recently released studio album of the same title (Armoury Records – April 19, 2011). A video of “Executioner’s Song,” shot live during their European tour has recently been released.
Grammy/American Music Award-winning songwriter/recording artist Duff McKagan has sold over 100 million albums, and ushered in a whole new generation of hard rock fans as a founding member of Guns ‘N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver. In Loaded, which he formed in 1999, McKagan steps up as lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist, with bassist Jeff Rouse, guitarist Mike Squires, and drummer Isaac Carpenter.
The past few months have kept Loaded busy, with not only The Taking album, released to critical acclaim, and the special edition CD/DVD re-issue of their 2009 album Sick (Armoury Records – May 24,2011), they also embarked on an international tour, and performed at Austin’s SXSW Music Conference. Additionally, McKagan was a featured speaker, hosting the seminar “Your Financial Advisor Is Duff McKagan” (he is a graduate of the acclaimed Albers School of Business and a partner in wealth management firm Meridian Rock).
In addition to the film, fans can also look forward to a few stateside dates, including a stop at Rock On The Range Canada in Winnipeg on August 20, KISW Pain In The Grass in Auburn, WA on August 27, and PDX Rock Festival in Hillsboro, OR on August 28. More U.S. dates will be announced soon.

SundayMercury.net is reporting the following:
Black Sabbath to reform with original line-up and new studio album
THE most closely guarded secret in rock music can be revealed – the original Black Sabbath line-up is getting back together.
Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward have begun rehearsing for a tour and new studio album.
In June this year vocalist Ozzy and guitarist Iommi wrote new material for a record that will be released next year.
‘‘We’re really looking forward to it and I think the stuff we’ve been writing is really good,’’ said 63-year-old Iommi. ‘‘It’s more back to the old original stuff.’’
He added that the reunion has been kept under wraps for some time.
‘‘It’s all been very hush-hush. Ozzy’s been the worst at trying to hold it back. He’s doing a lot of TV and he’s being asked stuff about a reunion and he’s going ‘well I never say never’.
‘‘He told me, ‘I don’t know what to say’.’’
Iommi’s last version of Black Sabbath, called Heaven & Hell, came to an end when singer Ronnie James Dio died in May 2010.
‘‘I had umpteen number of people on the phone asking if I fancied getting together with a band but I couldn’t tell them what I was doing. I just had to say I was busy.’’
The classic line-up of Black Sabbath formed in Aston in 1969.
Ozzy was fired from the band in 1979 and there has since been many different members since.
Iommi said his only concern about the current reformation was the health of drummer Bill Ward who in the past has suffered a heart attack.
‘‘He hasn’t been 100 per cent. He had an operation a few months ago, so we’ll see how he is.’’
