This is what we have longed for the last year and all the work we have put into everything is pretty much the preperation of one thing. To hit the roads. we will tour as much as possible now with the album out and this tour together with the U.D.O-tour will be our first mark in Europe. There will be full-blown riots so take the chance to check us out when we come to your town!”
SISTER have also been confirmed as the opening band for a part of the upcoming European tour of the one and only U.D.O.!
SISTER will support U.D.O. – the band of former ACCEPT singer Udo Dirkschneider – at shows in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and Holland. The bill will be completed by SISTER SIN.

Comments SISTER: “Udo and Accept has been a big influence for the members in Sister for a long time and to open for U.D.O. is fucking great for sure! We’re really looking forward to it all and this is one of many things that we wished for at this stage in our career. With the new album “HATED” out this summer the only thing we want to do is to hit the roads! Germany has been our “second home” the last years and has except for Sweden been the country we undoubtedly done most gigs. It´s always been a blast down there. This will of course be no exception and we will see all of you bastards when the time comes. We promise a riot on stage and thank U.D.O. and the organization around him for this opportunity! Cheers!”
About the band:
SISTER, who hails from Stockholm/Jönkoping Sweden, formed in early 2006 working hard to build up a name as a strong act both live and in the studio. SISTERconsists of 4 members- Jamie on vocals, Lestat on guitars and backing vocals, Rikki on bass and backing vocals, and Cari on drums and backing vocals- who combine the sounds of Punk, Glam, Rock, and Metal with an end result sounding something like the bastard child of GG Allin and Guns N’ Roses.
SISTER’s Metal Blade debut HATED has been released the 3rd/6th of June, 2011!
Pompei Nights is the latest hard rock export from (you guessed it) Sweden. Judging from the clips I have heard from their recently released CD, Rather Die Than Livin’ In Boundaries, Pompei Nights could have a pretty big year amongst the sleaze metal fans out there. Don’t take my word for it, check out their video clip for their song, “Midnight Mistress” below, or visit the band’s myspace page where you can hear additional tracks for the CD. If you like what you hear, you download the songs at Amazon.com, or if you are old school (like me) and prefer a CD, you can get one at the Street Sypmhonies store online at this link.

Dear Fans and Media Friends,
I am aware of a compilation of unfinished demo songs that was published on the Internet by an individual named Scott rolaf. These demos were recorded in my studio about two years ago. While there was discussion of releasing some of them as part of an album for a special project, I was not happy with the way the collaboration was progressing on all levels…artistically, musically and in how it was prematurely presented online. This is why I stopped having contact with Scott Rolaf. We were at odds, however, he continued to pretend on the social media sites that we were still friends and that this project was moving forward. this was an outright lie.
I never had confirmed plans for this album to be released but Rolaf took it upon himself to publish a website and other social media sites (i.e. Revrbnation, etc.) without getting prior approval from me. This misled my fans, members of my street team and several reputable media outlets. I have since severed my professional and personal relationship with Scott Rolaf permanently.
Scott Rolaf’s recent posting of these demos for free download in the form of an “album” is unethical. I have taken legal action to protect my artistic/intellectual property and reputation. On July 21, 2011, Rolaf was served a Cease and Desist by my lawyers. Sometime around July 29, 2011, he had the audacity to post free files of these demos along with a “new” press release which he wrote. These actions are, in my opinion, nothing more than an attempt by Scott Rolaf to gain fame on my name!
I admit that I made the mistake of trusting Rolaf with some unfinished songwriting demos…simple ideas, incomplete performances, music, vocals, production, etc. He betrayed that trust by releasing these songs without legal or personal confirmation. This is an unscrupulous, immoral act, and, by the laws that protect artistic/intellectual property, it is criminal!
It is individuals who take actions, like Rolaf did, who hurt and destroy the hopes and chances of honest and talented artists who want and need a helping hand to clime the ladder of success! This action is a pathetic example to the true creative people who love to write and perform music. What a stain on the heart of honest art!
My loyal friends and fans know of the high quality of work I have delivered throughout my career. To think that Scott Rolaf, to whom I extended my hand in friendship as well as professional trust, has betrayed me by releasing unfinished/unapproved works, is an outrage! My only hope is that you can understand this situation and realize that this is a sad event that can happen to anybody…anywhere…regardless of position and status. Don’t let it happen to you.
Joe Lynn Turner
P.S. Please feel free to check out a portion of an interview I did with journalist James Gaden in February 2011. I have pasted this portion of the interview below:
INTERVIEW SEGMENT with Journalist JAMES GADEN
The following segments were transcribed from a conversation that journalist James Gaden had with me (Joe Lynn Turner) on the 24th of February 2011. It was taken out of what became the article that was published in Fireworks Issue 45.
JAMES: “I’m also intrugued to hear the album you’ve done with Scott Rolaf, because again, the snippets I’ve heard online sounded good.”
JLT: Well, look…alright, I’ve got to tell you the skinny on that right now. It’s on hold. I’ve got some personal problems with Rolaf… I never agreed to the Rolaf/Turner name. I never agreed to have any of the clips on Facebook or wherever the F**K they were. Everything has been taken down for now. The songs are still there, but we’ve had some problems between us. He’s the kind of guy – maybe you have someone in your life like this, they just go off and they do what they want. All of a sudden, you go ‘Hey, I’m supposed to be your partner!’ I’m over in Europe somewhere, I come back and there’s bits and pieces of this thing all over the place. That is not the way to market something. I don’t mind him leaking a few things here and there, but those were demos. You should hear these things now, we’ve got real drums, real bass, we’ve been tearing down the fluff and makint it real. It’s so much better. So I don’t want to totally abandon “the songs” but I’m not Rolaf/Turner. I never agreed to that. This guy is a wannabe star, he’s putting his name first – this isn’t Hughes/Turner, this is not comparable. I was incised at that.
JAMES: “I can understand that. It was your name that drew my interest to the project anyway. I’d probably have completely ignored you if you hadn’t been attached to it.”
JLT: He’s riding on my back isn’t he? We were supposed to be getting a big marketing company, hitting the internet, setting up all the right things, putting out ads… that’s correct, that’s the way to do it. Then Scott starts releasing stuff everywhere and we were like ‘Hey, you’re giving away the game!’ I don’t mind a snippet here and there but it became ridiculous. That, and the name he came up with, he did that himself and he was looking to press CD’s and put out the demos from the computer without real drums, the tracks were murky and awful… I said hey, I don’t do that standard. It’s a low standard for me. If my name is going on it, I’ve gotta have it right. Anyway, we had a big f**king argument and he called me all kinds of names and I was ready to punch him out, I swear I was. So I said ‘Alright, I’m done with your ass. You’re an egotist – you’re arrogant and it’s not even earned.’ I said ‘You’ve done nothing, and if I open my hand and release you, you’ll go back into obscurity where you belong’. I said ‘Just because have a bit of talent to write a fair song…please, I’ve written hundreds of great songs. Have the common decency, respect and consideration for a partnership.’ If you don’t have that, you have nothing. So that’s it, you have the full story there in a nutshell. Right now, it’s on hold. The songs are there, lots of good songs, but I also got a whole album of songs with a guy in Sweden that will just blow your mind. I don’t mean heavy rock stuff, it’s in a much more commercial, radio oriented way. It’s got writing from guys like Gary Baker from Nashville, guys who wrote for Backstreet Boys. It’s just a set of brillant songs. We’re finishing up the drums now and stuff – the only thing I’m worried about is the vocals, they’re demo vocals. I was reading the lyrics, really just mapping out the songs, but the recordings sound so good! I don’t know whether I need to go and put some excitement in there… I don’t know, I feel I’ve got so much more ability vocally than what is on there, but people who’ve heard them are just saying it’s a great other side of me. I digress, but I’m just saying I don’t need this. Working with a guy who has come out of obscurity, all the while I was under the impression he’d follow my lead because I’m the experienced one, but I found out that apparently he was the important one, he was the rock star, and I’m just a tool to sing the songs. So I said ‘Oh really? F**k you’.
It’s tough, on one side he’s actually quite a nice guy, but on the other side, he can be a f**king asshole! Not unlike everyone else (laughs).

In 2011, Eagle Rock Entertainment has released not one, but all three of the Deep Purple CDs with the Mark I lineup. Deep Purple’s self titled album was the least successful album of the Mark I lineup. The end result was the band shifting to a heavier sound, and eventual joining of Ian Gillan and Roger Glover.
The lack of chart success is by no means a reason to not check this CD out. There are a bunch of interesting moments such as the epic twelve-plus minute song “April”, the rockin’ psychedelic jams of, “The Painter”, “Why Didn’t Rosemary?” and “Bird Has Flown”, plus the original released single “Emmaretta”.
If you like bonus tracks, this re-issue has four of them to sink your ears on. You get three versions as originally performed on the BBC, the other is a B-side version of the song “The Bird Has Flown” that was originally found on the B-side of the “Emaretta” single.
If you are a rock fan that loves to hear deep cuts from bands that rarely ever get radio play, you are going to love this album. The self titled album may have caused changes in the Deep Purple lineup, but it is interesting listen, and one should be in every Deep Purple fan’s collection.

THE TREATMENT, the five-piece rock troupe from Cambridge who have recently appeared at both the Sonisphere & High Voltage festivals, will tour Europe as Special Guests to Alice Cooper on the legendary artist’s ‘Welcome 2 My Nightmare’ European tour from October 12th – November 14th.
This month-long trek takes in shows in eight different countries, including Germany, France, Holland and the UK, where The Treatment will be sole support in Sheffield & Bristol (October 25th & 26th); the remaining UK shows will see the New York Dollsguesting.
Prior to this tour, The Treatment will have their debut album, ‘This Might Hurt’, released through the Spinefarm label on September 5th 2011.
Featuring tracks such as ‘Departed’, ‘The Doctor’ and new single/video ‘Drink, Fuck, Fight’, this 12-track release (plus two bonus tracks) is currently collecting considerable acclaim – not just in the UK but also in Canada, Germany, the US & Japan, and indeed the band are expecting to visit Japan for the first time later this year.
In support of the September release, a ‘launch party’ will take place at the Borderline in London on Tuesday, September 6th; in keeping with the theme of the album artwork (a nurse with a chainsaw – not sure if you can get this on the NHS?!) and ‘Drink…’ video, those attending are being encouraged to come in medical attire, or at least sporting a mocked-up ‘injury’ or ‘wound’. The person judged to have made most effort on the night will receive a signed Yamaha guitar
Check out thew new video clip, “Drink, Fuck, Fight” below!

EDGUY have released their video for ‘Robin Hood’, the opening track from the band’s forthcoming new album, Age Of The Joker (due out August 26th!)
Video director Oliver Sommer (AVANTASIA, HELLOWEEN) and the band decided to satirize the Errol Flynn version, The Adventures Of Robin Hood. The miniature epic was shot in the forest with a large number of additional actors, starring German TV-comedian Bernhard Hoecker in two different leading roles.

“Lugano was where it all began and so the circle is closed there”.
On the 2nd of September, a previously unreleased track entitled”The Train” with Steve Lee on vocals will be published.
“Homegrown – Alive In Lugano“ contains a live recording of the band’s concert on the 17th of July 2010 in Lugano, which was one of the last concerts with vocalist Steve Lee, who tragically died during a motorbike trip through the USA on the 5th of October 2010 in an accident which was not his fault. Due to the sudden accidental death of Steve Lee, the CD’s release was postponed.
“Lugano was where it all began and so the circle is closed of all that we’ve experienced with our friend Steve Lee“, comments bassist Marc Lynn. “The memories of the past 20 years on stage with Steve are brought again to life intensively with this album. They reflect the memorable times that we were able to enjoy on the Mount Olympus of Rock’n'Roll.“
The concert in Lugano took place during the local HOG Rally, a big annual event organized by Harley Davidson bikers. This gig in Lugano meant a lot to GOTTHARD. Being able to play for the Harley circle in their hometown was an unforgettable experience. All the GOTTHARD musicians are enthusiastic Harley-Davidson bikers themselves and perform for the purposes of such events on every occasion or take part in rallies. In addition, “Homegrown“ was one of the very few concerts where GOTTHARD played in their hometown Lugano.
“Steve was warmer and more cheerful than he had been in a long time“, guitarist Freddy Scherer remembers. “The chemistry between him and the audience couldn’t have been more intense, despite the fact that there were more than 20,000 people standing on the piazza. It is a stroke of good luck that we recorded this memorable concert, for unfortunately it was one of the last ones with Steve.“
“Music has allowed us to travel round the whole world together during the last 20 years“, guitarist Leo Leoni summarises. “In doing so, we’ve shared lots of unforgettable moments that rank among the best times of our lives. Anyhow, returning to Lugano has always been something special. It’s the place we belong to and where we have strong and deep roots.”
“Homegrown – Alive In Lugano” marks the end of an era for GOTTHARD. Currently, the band is searching for a new singer and will soon start a new chapter in the band’s history…

Italian up and coming modern metal heroes TASTERS just released the track “Katherine’s Got A Secret” for free download at the band’s Facebook profile http://www.facebook.com/tastersmusic
Commented the band: “As of now you can download the track “Katherine’s Got A Secret” for free at our Facebook profile! The song deals with that eternal secret enclosed in every girl’s heart. The music itself is quite dark – long story short, it means a lot to us and we hope it will mean a lot to you as well! Enjoy, kick ass and spread the secret!”
TASTERS will release their Nuclear Blast debut “Reckless ‘Till The End” on September 16, 2011!
First press reactions have described the album as “… a dirty gang band of BRING ME THE HORIZON and ASKING ALEXANDRIA!”
Bored. This is how I felt after listening to Theory of a Deadman’s latest CD, The Truth is…
You see, I really wanted to like this CD. I did enjoy the band’s previous effort Scars & Souvenirs, but no matter how may times I spin The Truth is…, I just can’t get into it.
There are two problems that I hear that makes this CD not as enjoyable as their past efforts. One is the song writing, the other is the music in general. Let me explain….
There are a few songs on The Truth is… where Tyler Connolly sounds like a card-carrying
member of the “He-man Woman Haters Club”. In between are tunes like “Out of Head” (Tyler can’t get that girl out of his head) that me scratching my head. Maybe it is the bi-polar style of writing that I didn’t get into. I just thought it was odd. One of the catchiest songs on the CD is “The Bitch is Back”, but it is NOT a song I would recommend singing along to (especially in mixed company).
The second problem is the music, and that is a whole different story. If you were to hear any songs from The Truth is… on the radio, unless you actually owned this CD, I doubt you could figure out which band was playing the song. It is the same reformulated, overproduced (by Howard Benson) stuff that I have heard 100 times before. The over all experience left me a little bored, and had me looking forward to hitting the eject button, so I could put something else in the CD player.
The Truth is that The Truth is… is not that good. There are a few decent songs, but overall, this CD is tame and unmemorable. I wouldn’t recommend it.

I love when opening acts are so fantastic that I want to run out and buy their music at the merchandise stand. Such was the case with Royal Bliss, a band that I did not know existed prior to seeing them open for Puddle of Mudd at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey. After their blistering opening performance, I will be paying more attention to the band.
When Royal Bliss took the stage, I was willing to give them a chance, as I am with any opening act I see. However, I couldn’t help thinking that the lead singer was out of shape and that there was no way this band was going to be good. Boy, am I glad that Royal Bliss proved me wrong. Lead singer, Neal Middleton not only energized the crowd with his amazing front man abilities, but the man can also sing his ass off!
Middleton won over the crowd from the first song. As the Royal Bliss set went on, he got the crowd signing along. It was quite a moment and as an opening act, Royal Bliss was astonishing. If you get the opportunity to see them live, I highly recommend that you take advantage of it. You will not be disappointed.
Rev Theory was out next and I was looking forward to seeing their performance. I like the band and had never witnessed them in concert, so my expectations were high, but perhaps a little higher than they should have been.
Lead singer Rich Luzzi, who hails from New Jersey, burst onto the stage, guns-a-blazing. He was looking to whip his hometown crowd up immediately. There was only one problem. His microphone was not working too well. The vocals were hard to hear and the rest of the band did not seem to bring as much passion as Luzzi did.
Rev Theory’s set was pretty weak, which was a disappointment, because I really wanted to like their live act. Yet, between poor sound, and Luzzi’s voice appearing to be road weary, the band just couldn’t get me excited. However, that doesn’t mean the rest of the crowd wasn’t excited, because they were. The New Jersey fans loved Rev Theory and when the band kicked into “Hell Yeah,” from 2007’s Light It Up, the ballroom went bananas.
After Rev Theory, it was time for the purpose of the evening. Puddle Of Mudd performing two sets, with the first being a set of covers. When the lights went down, I leapt to my feet and roared. I was excited to see what this band could bring live. Knowing their first batch of songs were covers found me ripe with anticipation. What cover songs would they perform? How would they sound?
The band started the night with The Rolling Stones “Gimme Shelter” which is not an easy song to cover. Armed with additional musicians to compliment the core players from Puddle Of Mudd, the full band did an exceptional job on their rendition of the Stones classic. I was singing along like it was a Puddle of Mudd original. It was quite impressive how well the band performed “Gimme Shelter.”
The covers set was a quick one, totaling seven songs in all. And while there were plenty of high notes, there were also some lows. The biggest low of the night was backup singer, Tyra Juliette. It was hard for me to identify the purpose that she served other than being the second vocalist on “Stop Dragging My Heart Around.” Juliette did not sing well and overall, Puddle Of Mudd’s rendition of the Tom Petty classic was pretty sour.
The band closed their covers set with the Elton John classic, “Rocket Man,” and when Wes Scantlin introduced the song, I was uncertain. I did not think that the band was going to do the song justice. They proved me wrong, however, and closed the first set in style. Their version of “Rocket Man” was amazing and just might be worth buying their covers album for. I was thoroughly impressed.
The second set, the set of hits, kicked off with “Out Of My Head” from the band’s debut album. Hit after hit would follow including “Control,” “Away From Me,” “Famous” and “Psycho.” While the second set was short, it was jam packed with some of the best cuts from Puddle Of Mudd’s history.
Guitarist Paul Phillips was incredible on lead guitar. He looked great and played even better. His solos were spot on and his ability to work the crowd was stellar. I’ve always felt that he’s a bit underrated and after seeing his live performance, I know that he is. He was absolutely sensational.
Wes Scantlin did a great job on lead vocals, and left most of the guitar work to Phillips and Dizzi Devereux. While he did play guitar on a few songs, Scantlin is focusing mostly on being the band’s lead singer these days. Scantlin sounded just like he does on the record. His voice was crisp and sharp and he nailed every song that was performed during the second set.
The band closed the second set with their massive hit, “Psycho” which drove fans over the edge. The entire floor was jumping up and down during that performance and it’s a wonder the floor didn’t collapse. The crowd was into it and so was the band. “Psycho” made for the moment of the night.
The expected encore consisted of “She Hates Me” and an amazing version of “Blurry” that everyone in the building sang at the top of their lungs. After that, the night was over. While I was a bit disappointed in the length of the show, I am willing to forgive the band because I left the Starland Ballroom happy. Sure, I would liked to have heard some more Puddle Of Mudd songs, but their willingness to take a chance on the two set format scored them high marks.

KITTIE have released a new song today called “Epires (Part 2)” via Revolvermag.com. Front woman Morgan Lander offers her own words, “‘Empires (Part 2)’ is the second half, and more frantic portion of a two part idea. Part 1 is the acoustic calm before the storm while Part 2 is a full on hurricane. The subject matter likens a union or relationship to the idea of a great empire and as history has taught us; even the most mighty and powerful of empires crumble and fall eventually. Nothing is forever.”
The band recently shot a video for the track in upstate NY, a teaser of that video can be seen HERE.
KITTIE will release a brand new record entitled “I’ve Failed You” on August 30th, 2011 via eOne Music. For this effort, the band enlisted the talents of Siegfried “Siggy” Meier at Beach Road Studios in Goderich Ontario who took on producing rolls.
The band recently debuted the first single entitled “We Are The Lamb” which can be heard HERE. “‘We Are The Lamb is the first single and is about as musically devastating as we get. It is a tale of self sacrifice, to give those you love a chance to grow and learn to live for themselves. I cannot express to you how proud of this album we are. ‘I’ve Failed You’ is real, honest, angry and ugly” concludes Lander.
1. I’ve Failed You
2. We Are The Lamb
3. Whisper of Death
4. What Have I Done
5. Empires (Part 1)
6. Empires (Part 2)
7. Come Undone
8. Already Dead
9. Never Come Home
11. Time Never Heals
The band will be hitting the road this summer on a headlining run spanning the entire US including the notorious “Gathering Of Juggalos” festival. DIRGE WITHIN and DIAMOND PLATE will offer support.
KITTIE is: Morgan Lander (guitar), Mercedes Lander (drums), Tara McLeod (guitar) and Ivy Vujic (bass).
Amoral, the Finnish ambassadors of classic rock of the 21st century, have released another new song from their upcoming 5th album “Beneath”. Where the first single “Same Difference” leaned towards hard rock, the new song, (Won’t Go) Home, with it’s riff-oriented structure and growling vocals, represents the heavier side of the new album.
“‘(Won’t Go) Home’ is a heavy and technical track through and through”, singer Ari Koivunen says. “Masi’s (Hukari, guitar) Indian-flavored solo is also one of my favourites. Vocal-wise this song was the hardest to pull off, as my voice was pretty blown after two weeks of singing in the studio. I ended up recording the vocals by myself during the small hours, and I’m very happy with the results.”
“(Won’t Go) Home” can be listened to at Imperiumi.net for the next week, between the 3rd and 10th of August. “Beneath” will be released in late October.
