Hurricane Irene Destroys the Home of Metal Queen Doro Pesch

Rude shock for Doro Pesch. Yesterday morning the rock singer took the plane from Düsseldorf to her second home New York. When she arrived at her domicile on Long Island, instead of her neat house on the beach DORO only came upon a heap of ruins – the results of hurricane ”Irene” which had been raging over New York on last weekend and had brought big floodings to the east coast of the US.
”The damage is disastrous”, DORO states mournfully. ”The whole ground-floor was flooded. It stinks, electricity failed and everything’s wrecked inside of the house. From the TV to the fridge to the furniture. Everything’s grime-stained, defective, unusable.”
DORO continues: ”The worst thing is that pieces of my stage costumes and lots of my souvenirs and presents from fans from all around the world are lost forever now.”
Actually the rock queen wanted to prepare for her two live shows in New York and Chicago on Long Island calmly, which she’ll play next week over the course of her jubilee DVD’s release ”DORO – 25 Years in Rock”.
DORO: ”The shows will take place of course. For now, I’ve found accommodation in an hotel in New York and will have to see where things will go from here. I saw the pictures of ”Irene” on TV when I visited my mother in Germany on the weekend. When a red rubber raft appeared canoeing through a road on Long Island, I’ve already assumed the worst.”
And the fears were even surpassed. In spring, Doro Pesch had sat by the pier in front of her house to make use of the idyllic atmosphere for writing songs for her new album that will be released in 2012.

i’m really saddened to hear this. at least Doro wasn,t personnally harmed. i read some comments on the internet that were ugly concerning this situation and they angered me. if you had ever met Doro you would recognize not only that she is the greatest musician to ever walk planet earth, but also as nice of a person as you will ever meet. i will also add that i personally think she is the most beautiful creature God ever put on our planet, period. those of you that put ugly and leud commets out there should be ashamed. i would gladly give up some of my Doro collectibles to replace what she lost if she wants me to and i have a lot (maybe more than Renee’s room on the dvd Fur Immer ). SINCERLY,James DeBord Swords Creek. Va.
Kudos to you James. I don’t understand why people have to be so ugly on the net. Doro has done nothing but keep us rocking for the better part of 4 decades.
My losing my lifetime record collection from the Irene flood waters that invaded our basement pales in comparison to what Doro has lost from Hurricane Irene. I just held the vinyl minutes ago – Warlock “Triumph And Agony”, it was beyond salvageable and it hurt me so bad to throw it into the garbage.
I may have lost my Warlock vinyl, yet the albums can be replaced down the Metal road, God willing.
I hope and pray Doro can move forward with her losing such grand memories of her Long Island home, along with all of her irreplaceable sentimental items. It’s so great and a relief that Doro was not there when this evil storm hit her home. Thank god above.
God bless Doro and her family. Long live Doro. \m/
Brother Stone…..sorry to hear about your Record Collection.. That totally sucks. Hopefully you will be able to replace some of what you lost.
