The metal band Savage Messiah is giving away their entire album, that is right, the band is giving away ten free downloads from their up and coming album, Plague of Conscience, absolutely free. Plague of Conscience will get its official release in 2012. This is your chance to check it out, in advance of the release date.
Shy returned in 2011 with their 10th studio album, and their first with their new singer Lee Small. Small ,who sang with the bands Phenomena and Surveillance, turns in an outstanding vocal performance, and have helped Shy create what is easily their best new album since 2002’s Unfinished Business.
This album isn’t the heaviest of Shy albums. What it lacks in heaviness, it has in melody. The keys of Joe Basketts greatly augments, but never over powers, the guitar work of Steve Harris. Some of my favorites on this album include the songs “Sanctuary”, a killer melodic tune that has some awesome progressive rock elements to it, and ‘Pray”, a killer tune with a great message. Some of the other album highlights are the rocking cuts “Land of a Thousand Lies”, and “Blood on the Line”. There really isn’t a bad song in the bunch.
I thought I would miss the vocals of Tony Mills with Shy, but I have to admit that I am loving what the band is doing with Lee Small. Both Shy and TNT can forge ahead with the excellent singers they employ.
Sadly, this album will be the swan song for guitarist Steve Harris who passed away in October from a brain tumor. His guitar work will be greatly missed by the melodic rock community. He leaves us with an outstanding melodic rock CD and a catalog of hard & melodic rock that will never be forgotten by music fans anywhere.
For more information on Shy, please visit the band’s website. You can purchase Shy’s new CD at this link. I recommend it!

EPYSODE, the new melodic progressive metal band project of Samuel Arkan (Virus IV), has released a new video “Obsessions” in support of their album of the same name, Obsessions. Check it out!
Roxx Productions along with Liberty ‘n’ Justice are very pleased to announce for LNJ’s 20th Anniversary (1992-2012) the release of their 11th studio album ‘Hell is coming to Breakfast’. This marks the bands second release on Roxx Records after a successful partnership on the Limited Edition charity CD entitled ‘Chasing a Cure LP’ that the two teamed up on earlier in 2011. ‘Hell is coming to Breakfast is set for release on March 1, 2012 with pre-sales beginning now.
Justin Murr of Liberty ‘n’ Justice has this to say about the release… “We recorded so many songs for our yet to be released 2 CD project entitled ‘The Cigar Chronicles’ and with the delay on this release not happening until late in 2012 or early 2013 we didn’t want the fans to have to wait that long to get some new LNJ in their hands. So when Bill and Roxx Records approached me and asked if we had anything else up our sleeves we could release, we realized we had to many songs that were not all going to fit on ‘Cigar’ so we took the 6 songs that we couldn’t fit and then recorded another brand new song which is the title track ‘Hell is coming to breakfast’ especially for this release and added 5 more previously unreleased rare cuts and demos just for this one, I am really excited for our fans to hear this collection”
Bill from Roxx Records had this to say about the new release “We are very excited to be working with Justin and Liberty ‘n’ Justice once again, especially in the bands twentieth year! Justin and all the wonderful artists he works with continue to release nothing but top notch material and after twenty years it is just amazing how they keep coming up with so many great Melodic Rock songs again and again and again”
In addition to the 7 brand new tracks and various demos and rarities we are very excited to be able to include on this release and on CD for the very first time ever the original acoustic demo version of ‘Sin’ featuring the late great Jani Lane of Warrant out front on vocals.

Norweigian rockers Leprous have released a new video, “Restless” in support of their new album, Bilateral.
I am exposed to new music all of the time, and this is one of the more unique bands I have listened to as of late.
What do you think of the video “Restless” from Leprous? Should this video SINK or SWIM? Decide with your vote below!
The Scorpions have released a promo video for their new album, Comeblack which is one half re-recorded originals, and one half cover songs. This seems like an odd move for the Scorpions with them retiring in the near future. Does Comeblack mean the Scorpions have changed their mind about retiring? Who knows?! Usually, I am not a fan of cover albums, and while this album feels like a cash grab for the Scorps, I like this clip, I will definitely must this on my must own list.
Comeblack was released November 7th, in the UK, and will be released 1/24/11 in the United States.

Roxx Gang were easily the most underrated, misunderstood band of the late 80’s and early 90’s. If ever there was a band that should have attained superstardom it was Roxx Gang, Virgin Records first American hard rock signing. Unfairly lumped in with the whole hair band scene, Roxx Gang truly had the makings to become one of America’s greatest rock ‘n’ roll bands. And for one glorious moment… they were. Their cult classic first album Things You’ve Never Done Before was a rock ‘n’ roll tour de force that had about as much in common with the L. A. hair wimps as a hungry shark does to a bowl of goldfish. Their incendiary live shows are still talked about today by those lucky enough to have witnessed them. Now FnA Records proudly presents a tribute to this phenomenal band with the 3 disc set Boxx Of Roxx . Disc 1 is all rare and previously unreleased gems spanning the bands history from it’s earliest studio recordings to it’s fiery demise. Disc 2 is a never before heard bootleg of Roxx Gang live in Dallas, Texas from the Things You’ve Never Done Before US tour. Finally, Disc 3 contains all of Roxx Gangs video output from the MTV favorites “No Easy Way Out” and “Scratch My Back” to the uncensored, rated X “Startrip” video. This release stands as a testament to the raw power and visual splendor of one of America ‘s true unsung greats… Roxx Gang!
Roxx Gang exploded on the national music scene in 1988 as a hybrid mixture of rock, blues and punk that virtually defied classification. Their demo album Love ‘Em and Leave ‘Em earned stellar reviews on both sides of the Atlantic, out selling Guns-N-Roses and Whitesnake (the biggest bands of the day) in their hometown, and earned Roxx Gang a spot on the Top Ten Heavy Metal Albums Of The Year in Tower Records’ Pulse! Magazine. In a short space of time the Gang did a series of major label showcase gigs, garnered a huge international following, and were signed to Virgin Records. Their Virgin CD, Things You’ve Never Done Before, was released to great critical acclaim and coverage in the international rock and music press was extensive. The bands videos received airplay on MTV, they toured all over the world and Things You’ve Never Done Before went on to sell over 250,000 units.
Boxx Of Roxx covers the whole Roxx Gang history from the first recordings with guitarist Eric Carell, who died in a mysterious accident, to demos from the bands last recording sessions. All of the bands videos are released here for the first time including a performance of “Red Rose” from an early club gig. The box set also contains a fifteen page booklet of never before relesed photos from frontman Kevin Steele’s personal archive, liner notes from Kevin and a foreword from legendary UK author and music journalist Macolm Dome (Kerrang!, Record Mirror).

Kentucky’s Black Stone Cherry is hitting the road next year with a series of headline dates beginning February 1, 2012 in Libertyville, IL. Black Stone Cherry has had an amazing year following the May 31, 2011 release of Between the Devil & the Deep Blue Sea, an album Classic Rock Magazine just named #4 of “Albums Of 2011” in which they declared it “…one of the most important albums of 2011.”
Produced by Howard Benson (Theory of a Deadman, Daughtry, Three Days Grace), Between the Devil & the Deep Blue Sea has spawned three Rock radio hits to date. The first single “White Trash Millionaire” peaked at #11 at Rock radio while the second single “Blame It On The Boom Boom” was top 20; their third and most recently released single “In My Blood” is currently #33 on the Rock charts and climbing.
Black Stone Cherry’s music has also been all over TV with their songs most recently being heard on ESPN during NASCAR and on ESPN’s Monday Night Football and in the film “Abduction” starring Taylor Lautner, Maria Bello, Sigourney Weaver, and Alfred Molina. The track also appeared on the soundtrack, released on Epic in September.
Black Stone Cherry is comprised of vocalist Chris Robertson, guitarist Ben Wells, bassist Jon Lawhon and Drummer John Fred Young.

Following their recent GRAMMY nomination for the recently released Chickenfoot III, Chickenfoot –the supergroup featuring guitarist Joe Satriani, drummer Chad Smith, former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony and frontman Sammy Hagar – released a video today that playfully speculates whatever happened to the seemingly overlooked Chickenfoot II album: “Behind the Foot: The Truth Behind Chickenfoot II.”
Satriani says, “we promised never to talk about it so I’m surprised we’re talking about it now.”
The band, which recently earned a GRAMMY nomination for the “Best Recording Package,” for the creative 3D design of their recent “Chickenfoot III” album will release their new single, “Different Devil,” to radio on January 17th before embarking on a European tour in late January 2012.
Chickenfoot recently wrapped a sold out 2011 Road Test Tour that took them through San Francisco, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Chicago and New York with a stop for a performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. In each city along the tour, Hagar made a donation to a local food bank in a special partnership with Feeding America to encourage fans to do the same to help fight hunger, an important message that he also intended to convey through the music video for “Three And A Half Letters (I Need A Job).”
The first single from Chickenfoot III, “Big Foot,” debuted at #1 on the Mediabase Classic Rock Chart holding the position for 11 weeks, earning over 1.85 million listeners, and the album received critical acclaim. Chickenfoot III features 10 tracks with so many moments of epiphany that one can barely take them all in on first listen. Colossal, stadium-shaking riffs abound on earth-movers such as “Alright, Alright,” “Last Temptation” and “Lighten Up.” Tradition meets innovation on the Nashville pop-tinged “Different Devil,” the Delta-blues flavored “Something Going Wrong” and the aching rock ballad “Come Closer.”
Chickenfoot III debuted at #9 on the Billboard Top 100 and follows the band’s 2009 debut album, which debuted at #3 on the Billboard Top 100 and was certified gold for sales over 500,000 units by the Recording Industry Association of America.
For this video and other video releases, announcements and tour dates can be found at the band’s webpage (www.chickenfoot.us), as well as its podcast, YouTube, Facebook and Google+ pages.
When listening through some of the releases for my top 10 of 2011, one CD that I keep gravitating back to is Worship Music from Anthrax. It is a great injustice that I have not reviewed this CD before now.
Worship Music is the first CD Anthrax has recorded with Joey Belladonna in twenty-one years. Not since 1990’s awesome Persistence of Time record has Belladonna recorded with Anthrax. I am not sure what has been missing with Anthrax, but the band has recaptured the magic with Belladonna on the microphone. Worship Music is one of the strongest Anthrax CD’s to date. From a musical standpoint, the incredible riffs of Rob Caggiano and Scott Ian, the amazing drums of Charlie Benante and killer bass riffs from Frank Bello, are amongst the best Anthrax has ever recorded. Belladonna’s range may have diminished a little over the years, but he still sounds awesome!
Anthrax has never been radio darlings, but a couple of tunes that seem tailor-made for radio play would be “Crawl”, or “In The End” (with a few minor edits for expletives). “The Devil You Know” or “Fight ‘Em ‘Til You Can’t” are two outstanding slabs of molten metal that are going to make a lot of headbangers happy (self included). I am a sucker for anything that has to do with zombies, so I absolutely loved the intro on “Fight ‘Em ‘Til You Can’t”. I can only imaging the mosh pit craziness that ensues when Anthrax plays this tune live.
If the Big 4 shows with Metallica, Megadeth & Slayer didn’t return Anthrax to the top of the metal mountain, Worship Music will certainly help them get there. Anthrax has outdone their Big 4 peers by releasing what is easily the best metal album of 2011. I highly recommend it!

When Rokken Randy turns me onto a band that he is excited about, I have to pay attention. Usually when I hear cool new glam metal music, it is usually from Sweden, not the United States. Needless to say, Nasty Habit is a band that you should check out in a hurry. They have recently released a new video “Saturday Night” in support of their recently released, self titled EP.
When you visit the Nasty Habit Facebook page, you can download their song, “Hip Shakin’ Fox” for free! Check out their video “Saturday Night” below!
At the end of every year, I like to celebrate the greatness that happened in the world of rock and roll. Usually, I will reminisce about the great concerts or festivals I attended, write up my 10 favorite hard rock records of the past year, and talk about what excites me for the future. This year, however, I would like to add something else into the mix—I would like to take a moment to reflect on the disappointments of 2011.
Last December, there were some hard rocking moments that I was really looking forward to in the coming year. Unfortunately, not all of them panned out how I would have liked them to. So, join with me now as I recap my five most disappointing hard rock moments of 2011.
5. Van Halen fails to deliver a new record
I was salivating at the end of 2010 when the rumors ran rampant that Van Halen was going into the studio with David Lee Roth to record a brand new album. My heart fluttered with excitement when news leaked that the disc was recorded and just needed mastering. Sweat ran down my face when the band signed a record deal for their latest effort. I could not wait to hear this new Van Halen record. Unfortunately, the band could wait to release it. Despite all of the rumors, sightings, and message board commenting, Van Halen has not released a new album with David Lee Roth. While I am almost certain that this will happen in 2012, I was very sad that it did not happen in 2011.
4.Guns N Roses fail to reunite
Look, I know it was a pipe dream to think that this would happen anyway. I know that Rob Rockitt stated this new version of Guns N Roses is worth seeing live (and I am sure they are fantastic). That being said, I wanted to hear the news that Axl and Slash made up and the original GnFnR was getting back together. It didn’t happen. When the war of words really heated up over the summer, it truly sunk in that there was no way Axl and Slash would ever step foot on the same stage again. It’s sad. I don’t know what Axl’s problem with Slash is. I can speculate that he is probably jealous that the fans love Slash more than him, but who can say? Axl is, and always has been, a strange fellow. And while I may have to check out the new Guns N Roses (and I do hope that they will record another record), I am saddened that there will be no reunion of original members.
3. Aerosmith fails to deliver a new record
After rumors of breakups, new lead singers, and the original members parting ways for good, news surfaced from the Aerosmith camp that the bad boys from Boston were getting back into the studio to (finally) record an album of brand new material. And then Steven Tyler joined a little known show called…oh yeah… American Idol! The band and their management insisted that Steven’s Idol appearance wouldn’t affect the upcoming album, but here it is, the end of 2011, and guess what I’m not getting for Christmas? That’s right! The new Aerosmith album. Do you know why? Because they haven’t FREAKING recorded it yet. Don’t tease me with thoughts of a new album and then disappoint. Every year, Aerosmith drops further and further down my list of favorite bands. It’s sad to think they used to rank as high as number 4. Currently they are somewhere around 104.
2. Social Code’s decision to focus on side projects
If you read my top ten hard rock albums for 2010, then you know how much I love the band Social Code. They are one of the greatest modern rock bands to hit the music scene in a long time. It’s bands like Social Code that keep me excited about new/modern music. After the early 2010 release of Rock N Roll I was stoked about the idea of a new Social Code album in late 2011/early 2012. After their 2010 summer tour across Canada with Airbourne, Social Code went silent, and I figured it was only a matter of time before they were hitting the studio.
Weeks passed with nary a whisper about the band’s whereabouts. The New Year hit and all was silent from Social Code’s camp, except for a semi-recent interview. Spring became summer and the status quo remained. What the hell was going on with Social Code? Then, about two weeks ago, a very cryptic tweet came from Travis Nesbitt, the band’s lead singer. The tweet claimed that “Anything is possible for the future, but right now we are on hyatus (sic). @SIIINES is the new band. Super stoked about it. We still love you.” Damn. No new record for Social Code. I was as excited by the prospect of a new Social Code album as I was about the prospect of Pop Evil’s latest album before it dropped. I just knew that it was going to be great rock and roll. Well, Social Code decided that they had other matters needing their attention. While I still hope there could be a new record in the next year or two, I am severely disappointed that the band has not already released one.
1. Theory of a Deadman’s The Truth Is…
Since their debut album landed in 2002, Theory Of A Deadman has done nothing but release quality rock records. Their first three discs are some of the greatest modern rock that I’ve heard in a long time, especially, Scars & Souvenirs. When the band released The Truth is… this summer, I was excited. A new album from one of my favorite bands found me filled with high expectations and thoughts of greatness. And then I played the album.
The Truth Is… this album sucked. Theory of a Deadman tried so hard to recapture themes from Scars & Souvenirs that made them famous and that is why this album failed. I’m not saying that the band had to go in an entirely new direction, but trying to recreate your last album to recapture market share is a bad idea for any musician. The end result just didn’t live up to their standards, and ultimately the band failed their fans.
With horrendous songs like “The Bitch Came Back,” “Gentleman,” and “Hurricane,” Theory almost lost a fan. The only saving grace to this record is “Lowlife,” a solid song sung in classic Theory style. I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that their next record will prove this album was just a blip on the radar. That being said, nothing disappointed me more this past year than Theory of a Deadman’s The Truth Is….

Norwegian hard rock band Malice In Wonderland have written and recorded a brand new Christmas song. The song is called “When Everything’s Red” and you can check it out below!
The band’s front man Chris Wicked comments the song. “While the world doesn’t exactly scream for another Christmas song, in my mind there is not allot of high quality Christmas songs out there. We thought it would be fun to write something original, not just record a classic, so we rigged up a studio in Tracy’s (guitarist) living room and recorded everything in two days. It was fun and we’re just putting it up on our youtube site. It’s not a typical Christmas song, but the tune has a great atmosphere that I think allot of people can find appealing”
About Malice In Wonderland
The Norwegian rock band entered the Scandinavian rock scene with their self titled debut album in 2005. Led by hit single “Lucifer’s Town” the band was quickly labeled as one of the most promising underground rock acts and their fan base grew quickly with fan clubs and supporters in every corner of the world.
The quartet, toured in Norway and Europe several times and even played some very successful shows in China. In 2008 and 2009 the band lived partly in Finland where lots of concerts and TV performances where held. In 2010 the band withdraw from the spotlight, built their own recording studio and concentrated on writing and recording their sophomore album. Malice In Wonderland in November finished recording their album entitled The Royal Brigade. The band is currently seeking a suitable record label to release the CD in 2012.
Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the signing of TRIXTER for the worldwide release of the band’s reunion album in the spring of 2012 !
Formed in Paramus, New Jersey during 1983, TRIXTER would learn their chops playing live in the club circuit around their hometown with the likes of SKID ROW and KIX, before eventually getting signed by Mechanic/MCA for their self-titled debut album in 1990, which spawned the Billboard Hits & # 1 MTV Videos « Give It To me Good », « One in a Million » and « Surrender » and went on to become gold. The band toured nationally during 1990-91 sold out arena tours with POISON, SCORPIONS and WARRANT. TRIXTER’s second album, « Hear! », was released in October 1992, touring in support of KISS. Unfortunately the change of musical climate made it impossible for the band to keep going so, after the release of an independent covers album, the band called it quits in 1995.
TRIXTER finally announced the reunion of the original lineup in 2007. Since then the band played several shows, including a successful appearance at the Rocklahoma festival in 2008. « The band has been playing together for the last 4 years, so making a new record is the next logical step, » tells guitarist Steve Brown. « We are all very excited: the new cd will be entitled “New Audio Machine” and is a classic style Melodic Hard Rock album. All the sounds people have loved about TRIXTER will be there… Great songs, big guitar riffs, catchy vocals and a huge bottom end. A total big rock production!!! »
TRIXTER are now formed by Pete Loran on lead vocals and guitar, Steve Brown on lead guitar, P.J. Farley on bass and Gus Scott on drums. « We take pride in the fact that we are one of the few bands of our genre that have all original members, » says Brown.
With an arsenal of great new songs and a catalogue of two successful releases TRIXTER are looking forward to bring their songs on stage « We are hoping to land a support slot on one of the major summer tours, » concludes Brown. « And we finally hope to play our first European tour as well. » Get ready for the return of TRIXTER !
Just in Time for X-Mas you can get your very own KISS Mannequin……..
You wanted the best and now’s your chance to own the best. Avid KISS collectors Jae Connor and Johnny McLaughin of Electric Lotus Tattoo have decided to unearth this full set of very rare KISS mannequins. These one of a kind mannequins originally came from Fat Vinnie Gonzales, who at one time had the largest collection of KISS memorabilia in the world. The mannequins were made in 1976 and came directly from the Aucoin Management warehouse. One recalls that not only was these from the Aucoin warehouse, but that the band members themselves actually worked on these mannequins, assembling and hand painting their own faces.
All 4 of these mannequins are full sized and are extraordinarily life like. All of the faces have been molded from the actual band members and have exceptionally detailed make-up. Alice Cooper came to Cincinnati, Ohio’s Taft Theater for a fun night of rock & roll, & mayhem. Opening up the show was UK rockers Livan. I had not heard anything about an opening act for Alice Cooper, so I was somewhat surprised that there was an opening band.
Livan describes themselves as Industrial, Pop, Punk. I would describe them as Alternative, Punk with some Classic Rock thrown in for good measure. I wasn’t familiar with the band’s music, but they put on a pretty good show. Lead singer, Livan came out in face paint, and a leather skirt, while the guitar player graced a top hat. Their performance was somewhat theatrical in nature, and was a good fit as an opener for Alice Cooper. I was impressed by their performance, and hope I get to see this band again. If you visit Livan’s website, you can get a free download of their song “Undead”, and some free wallpapers too.
Alice Cooper took the stage around 8:30 P.M. and it was clear the band was going to rock our faces off. Alice’s band was sporting a few changes since the last time I saw them. His current band line up has Orianthi, Tommy Henricksen & Steve Hunter on guitar, Chuck Garric on bass, and Glen Sobel (Ex-Beautiful Creatures) on drums. This band was super tight and Alice Cooper’s songs have never sounded better. This was my first time seeing many of his new members play live, and I thought everyone was great. I loved getting to see Orianthi play. There are not enough women that rock out like this. She is an extremely talented guitarist who fits this band perfectly.
Alice’s show included many of the normal theatrics including the guillotine, swords, snakes, and my new favorite, the 10 foot “FrankenAlice” which he brought to life during the song “Feed My Frankenstein”, and of course the flag waving in the show closer “Elected”.
Alice Cooper’s set list included the songs:
“Black Widow”, “Brutal Planet”, “I’m Eighteen”, “Under My Wheels”, “Billion Dollar Babies”, “No More Mr. Nice Guy”, “Hey Stoopid”, “Is it My Body”, “Halo of Flies”, “I’ll Bite Your Face Off”, “Muscle of Love”, “Only Women Bleed”, “Cold Ethyl”, “Feed My Frankenstein”, “Clones”, “Poison”, “Wicked Young Man”, “Killer”, “I Love The Dead”, “School’s Out/Another Brick in the Wall”, and “Elected”.
The only way this show could have been better is if more songs were in the set. I love Welcome 2 My Nightmare, and one song from that CD is not enough in my opinion. I would love to hear “Vengeance is Mine”, “Chop, Chop, Chop” and “Bye Bye Baby” and probably another ten or twenty songs that is not in the Alice Cooper set, but I will take what I can get.
Alice Cooper always delivers a great live performance. He is the ultimate performer, and the show on this evening was great as always. I can’t wait to see them play again!

First and foremost, our main concern is our fans. We have spent 30 years trying to be the best we can be and bring our fans the top quality of music they have become accustomed to and deserve. It saddens us today to have to respond to Jack Russell’s announcement.
Jack Russell announced on Facebook on Saturday, December 10, 2011 that he was returning to Great White with a new line-up. This was a complete shock to the
entire Great White Family.
This couldn’t be further from the truth.
As we all know Jack Russell has been fighting drug and alcohol abuse for many years. He has had numerous stints in and out of treatment facilities and hospitals.
In 2010 Jack’s physical condition deteriorated to the point that he routinely fell on and off stage, forgot lyrics and we had to cancel shows due to his inability to perform. In the past two years, Jack has had five major surgeries and has almost died three times. His drug abuse was so bad that his body began to shut down and ultimately resulted in colostomy surgery from a perforated bowel (he nearly died during this procedure). The colostomy surgery saved his life, but vanquished him with a colostomy bag for a year.
We stood by Jack; we supported his sobriety and eagerly awaited his return.
Jack was first slated to return to Great White this past summer. Unfortunately his frail body and his drug abuse prohibited this event. In the following months, Jack had three more surgeries that delayed his return.
Finally, he chose February 2012 as his target return date. We had five clear conditions for Jack’s return:
1. Jack had to be drug free. Off all Opiates, Methadone, Valium or Xanax.
2. Jack had to be off Prednisone (a steroid that ate away at Jack’s internal organs that caused the perforated bowl).
3. Jack had to be sober and off crack cocaine and all alcohol.
4. Jack had to agree to weekly drug tests.
5. Jack must attend weekly meetings for AA and NA.
Last week Jack notified management he would not make it back by February 2012. Jack referred to his doctor’s opinion that he would not be ready. He had just started physical rehabilitation again and his legs and back needed more rehab to handle the rigors of touring. Jack thought he would be ready by May to start the summer touring season. However, he wasn’t sure if he could be off the Methadone by then or ever. Management reiterated that he had to be completely drug free for his return. He owed it to the fans. He owed it to us. He owed to himself.
Out of nowhere, we all received an email on Saturday, December 10, 2011 stating that he was coming back now and that he was starting his own (a different lineup) Great White. As you can imagine, this was shocking to say the least. We were saddened and hurt from this shocking announcement.
We only want to do right by our fans. We aim to give the best possible show and have every fan leave the show feeling they got their monies worth. This band is sober and music is our passion. With Jack Russell, not being drug free and unable to physically perform on stage. It will only let down our fans.
Time and again, Jack Russell has let down his band and fans. His addictions have ruined his life the past eight years. We will not sit by and enable our brother to abuse alcohol and drugs to kill himself. We have lost too many loved ones to this madness. After the passing of our dear friend, the talented Jani Lane, it has become more evident that this has to stop. It must end.
Since Jack’s departure in August 2010, Great White has performed almost 100 concerts. We’ve had no shortened sets, cancellations or song choice limitations due to vocal issues. In this struggling economy, fans need and deserve more—not less. We owe it to our fans and the promoters to not to allow Jack Russell and some garage band to hurt Great White’s classic rock legacy and bright future.
Jack Russell does not have the right to start his own Great White or use the name without our names in the lineup. We will litigate any promoter that books ‘Jack Russell’s Great White’ or uses any logo featuring the name Great White.
We give you our word, we will continue through 2012 and beyond to provide you with the top quality musical performances you have been accustomed and deserve. We hope and pray that Jack gets healthy, happy and sober. His health and well-being is the only thing that matters.
Keep Rocking, God Bless and Happy Holidays!
Mark, Audie, Michael, Scott and Terry.

Michigan rock band POP EVIL have released a brand new song today called “Unstoppable.” ESPN has debuted the track HERE. “We are very excited to announce the addition of two new songs to our iTunes Deluxe Version of ‘War of Angels‘: ‘Unstoppable’ and a new acoustic version of ‘Monster You Made,'” says front man Leigh Kakaty.
Kakaty continues, “We recently had a break from the road to go into the studio with Johnny K. We knew we wanted to release these tracks soon so our fans would have something to kick off the new year! They deserve it, they’ve been there for us through the thick and thin!”
“Unstoppable” is about the obstacles we dealt with as a band during the past year. Going through a six month battle with our former record label and the loss of our drummer were both stressful for us as a band. Despite these obstacles, we still managed to overcome them all while playing over 200 shows this year!”
POP EVIL released “War Of Angels” over the summer to much critical praise:
- “War Of Angels is a heavier and more mature departure from their debut album,” – Billboard Sep 2011
- “Pop Evil just seems like one of those bands that as more and more people hear them, they are going to tell their friends,” - Connections Dec 2011
Other accolades include being named Revolver Magazine’s “Band To Watch” in their Nov/Dec issue.
POP EVIL is Leigh Kakaty (lead vocals) Chachi Riot (drums) Davey Grahs (guitar) Tony Greve (guitar) and Matt DiRito (bass).

It’s high time for a resurgence of classic hard rock! With that rallying cry, BlancaWhite has released its debut, full-length album, “Resurgence of Rock,” to significant fanfare and acclaim. Sung by legendary vocalists from the 70s and 80s hard rock era, Resurgence of Rock is original, in-your-face, party-hardy hard rock at its finest!
An extraordinary international project two years in the making, Resurgence of Rock taps the exceptional talents of 80s vocalists Paul Shortino (QUIET RIOT, ROUGH CUTT and KING KOBRA), Terry Ilous (XYZ and GREAT WHITE), Lorraine Lewis (FEMME FATALE and L.A. NOOKIE), and Jeff Paris (CINDERELLA, VIXEN, SLASH and KEB MO), who deliver stunning performances with all the skill and spirit of hard
rock’s greatest era.
Billed as a “hard rock grass roots revolution,” Resurgence of Rock is the brainchild of international lawyer Ken Savage and brothers Austin and Rick Schell, who spared no effort or expense to bring their hard rock dreams to fruition. “We’re just ordinary rock fans who want the world to return to the glory days of hard rock, and we cared enough to do something about it,” says Savage, a fifth-generation Texan based in Paris, France. “This is hard rock made by fans for fans, pure and simple. It was a thrill and an honor to make this album, and we hope every hard rock fan from the
70s and 80s will enjoy it.”
Resurgence of Rock is unique in the manner it mixes hard rock sounds of the 70s and 80s with a modern-day perspective. “The driving rock sounds on this album are straight out of the classic hard rock era. But the subject matter and lyrics are from the perspective of today,” notes Savage. “The songs ought to appeal to anyone who grew up in the late 70s or 80s. The songs either look back on that era with fondness, or they address issues that someone who grew up in that period, now with a few more years under his or her belt, faces today.” In short, “Resurgence of Rock is a unique mix of the vintage, classic sounds of bands like AC/DC or Van Halen, with the perspective of today,” explains Savage.
BlancaWhite adopted the models of the Alan Parsons Project and early Queens of the Stone Age and scoured the world to locate the best vocalists for each of their songs. “This project was an extraordinary odyssey that took us to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Austin, Nashville, and Paris. The logistics and challenges were horrific,” says Savage. “We wanted the very best in terms of singers, as well as mixing and mastering, and we did whatever was required to make that happen. It was challenging and exhilarating at the same time!”
BlancaWhite is named after the world-famous bar in Matamoros, Mexico, just across from the Texas border where Savage and the Schells grew up. The international influences on the album are unmistakable. BlancaWhite’s founders are particularly proud of the fact that one of their key hard rockers, “Your Boyfriend Is Lame,” contains lines in Spanish and French, and that they were able to locate Terry Ilous, perhaps the only natively tri-lingual hard rock vocalist of the 80s, to sing that song.
Little surprise that SAMMY HAGAR, VAN HALEN, and AC/DC were major influences on the album. “We were most strongly influenced by Sammy, Eddie, Malcolm, and Angus, with some combination of DEF LEPPARD and JUDAS PRIEST as well,” says Savage. “There are strong Mexico and partying themes to this album, and even a reference to Van Halen’s Cabo Wabo in our title song. Sammy ought to be proud of
what he’s inspired!”
BlancaWhite is already working on its next album. BlancaWhite intends to keep making “hard rock music with a modern twist” as well as matching exceptional singers to particular songs. “We hope everyone gets a real kick out of Resurgence of Rock. It’s time for rock music to become fun again, without any higher calling. And hold on to your hats – there is much more to come!,” says Savage.

Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the signing to the label of a brand new Artist SONIC STATION for the release of their self titled debut album on February 24th 2012 in Europe and February 28th in North America.
SONIC STATION is a new Westcoast-AOR Project put together by Alexander Kronbrink (a Swedish guitarist, composer and producer). Alexander is a young musician who learned his skills playing with Smooth Jazz star Jonathan Fritzén. Later on – after being introduced to Lee Ritenour – Alexander started to see a clearer direction in his playing. Through Ritenour he discovered the music of such giants as Steely Dan, Kenny Loggins, composer and producer David Foster and guitarist Jay Graydon, among others. Alexander says: “I have always been interested in guitarists with the ability to play everything from Jazz, to Pop, to Country, to Hard Rock. I have listened a lot to American session guitarists such as Steve Lukather, Michael Landau and Dan Huff. I guess that type of guitar playing is what have influenced me the most.”
From the very beginning the SONIC STATION project has been based in the 80’s AOR music (influenced by Toto, Mr. Mister and Journey) and the West Coast-sound of Airplay and Chicago. The resulting album “SONIC STATION” is an expressive and warm record, where each song has an obvious and immediate hit feeling. “The focus is on melody and the SONIC STATION sound is a meticulous and exciting mixture of Pop, Rock and Jazz”, explains Kronbrink. To get the most quality out of each track Alexander, who composed ten of the songs and also produced and arranged the whole record, engaged four singers with different styles and voices: Marika Willstedt (from the Swedish TV show “Så ska det låta”), Magnus Bäcklund (member of the Swedish duo “Fame”), Kristoffer Fogelmark and Tove Lo.
There are many musicians working on the album but the three contributing the most are Alexander’s close friends Jonathan Fritzén (on keyboards – a smooth Jazz solo artist who reached #1 on the Billboard Indicator Smooth Jazz Chart), Henrik Linder (on bass – Dirty Loops, Work of Art) and Aron Mellergård (on drums – Dirty Loops). All of them are accomplished musicians and gave their contribution for the final result. “I definitely think SONIC STATION will have a life on stage and I expect that we will be able to do some shows in the coming months” concludes Alexander Kronbrink.
“Sonic Station” includes the following songs:
Intro; Love’s Gonna Show The Way (Feat. Magnus Bäcklund); I Wish I Could Lie (Feat. Marika Willstedt); Hold On To Me (Feat. Kristoffer Fogelmark); You Have To Let Me Go (Feat. Tove Lo); The Most Beautiful Fear (Feat. Magnus Bäcklund); Running Through The Night (Feat. Marika Willstedt); Never Let The Sunshine Die (Feat. Kristoffer Fogelmark); My Last Refrain (Feat. Marika Willstedt); Love You More (Feat. Marika Willstedt & Kristoffer Fogelmark); Reasons (Feat. Marika Willstedt)
With SONIC STATION, Alexander Kronbrink has taken the 80’s into the future.

Black Country Communion led by Cannock singer Glenn Hughes landed a top prize at last night’s Classic Rock Roll of Honour awards.
The four-piece band, who released their second album earlier this year, won breakthrough act of the year.
The band also includes Dudley-born drummer Jason Bonham, son of late Led Zeppelin drummer John, guitarist Joe Bonamassa and keyboard player Derek Sherinian.
Hughes tweeted “sweet” after the band’s award was announced at the ceremony at the Roundhouse in London. Black Country Communion played their debut gig at Wolverhampton Civic Hall last December in front of 3,000 fans.
Other winners were Manic Street Preachers, celebrating their 25th anniversary, and picked up the classic songwriters award, while guitarist Jeff Beck collected a living legend award for his lifetime achievements.
The Classic Rock Roll Of Honour also recognized the achievements of a string of luminaries including Steve Winwood, former Pink Floyd star Roger Waters, Deep Purple and Jethro Tull.
