“With their third full-length album, L.A.’s WARBRINGER have come into their own, penning a dynamic record heavy with apocalyptic disillusionment and technical proficiency.” – REVOLVER MAGAZINE
“This is what EXODUS used to sound like…only better.” – METAL HAMMER UK
“Equal parts speed and menace; each track is chock full of teeth crumbling riffs and gritty death tainted vocals, all paired with furious drumming in a symphony of aggressive sonic destruction that thrashes from start to finish!” – SUBSTREAM MUSIC PRESS MAGAZINE
Legendary US metal band MALICE signed a worldwide deal with SPV / Steamhammer. Original members Jay Reynolds (guitars), Mick Zane (guitars) and Mark Behn (bass) entered the Silver Cloud Studios in Los Angeles together with new singer James Rivera (Helstar) and new drummer Pete Holmes (Black N´Blue) to re-record some of their classics plus 4 new songs. The producer is Joe Floyd (Warrior) who also was involved in producing records of Bruce Dickinson and Rob Halford. The album is scheduled for a May 2012 release.
“We were all amazed at the great crowd responce and turn out for the gigs we played in 2011 , and it feels great to have a well known label like SPV behind us, be in the studio with a veteran line up and have a killer producer…… there will no longer be an abscence of MALICE !!” comments Jay Reynolds.
The band can`t wait to go on tour and dates will be announced soon. Bass player Robert Cardenas (Agent Steel) , who also recorded the new tracks in the studio, will step in for Mark Behn on the live front.
SPV / Steamhammer A&R / Product manager Olly Hahn comments: “Malice was always underrated. With their two albums “In The Beginning” and “License To Kill” they created timeless US Metal and it´s time to let all the younger fans know about this and show the older fans that Malice is still capable to write songs in the name of metal. I`m very happy that the band decided to be part of the growing SPV / Steamhammer family.”
MALICE was formed in 1981 and released two albums: In The Beginning (1985) and License To Kill (1986) and one EP Crazy In The Night (1988). They also were part – and the only band with two songs – of the first legendary “Metal Massacre”-Sampler in 1982. Malice toured in the US, Canada and Europe with bands like Alice Cooper, WASP and Slayer. Most memorable gig was in 1982 when Malice played in Los Angeles at the Troubador Club – support act was an unknown band called……. Metallica.

L.A. Guns featuring Phil Lewis, Steve Riley, Stacey Blades and Scotty Griffin are pleased to announce the signing of their new record deal with Cleopatra Records. The band are currently in pre-production and expect to start tracking in early February with legendary producer, and old friend, Andy Johns (Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Cinderella,Van Halen and Chickenfoot, as well as the last three L.A. Guns albums). A CD and vinyl release, as well as bonus tracks available only on iTunes, is set for early summer. A nine-month World Tour following the release is also currently being put together.
Singer Phil Lewis is said to be thrilled to get back in the studio and finally get a chance to record once again with Andy. “We’ve been waiting a long time to get back in and record. Our last album, Tales From The Strip, was incredibly well-received and we’re looking forward to putting out something even better! With today’s uncertain musical landscape it’s great to have a label like Cleopatra Records behind us. We’ve been friends with Brian Perera (Cleopatra Records owner and founder) for a long time, and are really looking forward to working together on this and many more projects with him in the future.”
Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of JEFF SCOTT SOTO’s fifth studio album “Damage Control” on March 23rd in Europe and March 27th in North America.
Extraordinary performer and amazing vocalist throughout, Jeff Scott Soto blasts through these hard rocking tracks with energy and masters the transition smoothly from heavy rock to a delicate ballad. For his new album “Damage Control”, Jeff has turned to many of his past influences and most requested aspects of his career by blending the art of Melodic Rock with Hard Rock throughout.
“I feel Damage Control is more of a return to what my fans would expect to hear from me. It’s a perfect blend of my first two solo albums with Frontiers Records; Prism and Lost in the Translation, but also mixes in some of my favorite moments of my past bands such as Talisman and Soul SirkUS” tells Jeff. “It is heavy, AOR, hard rock with loads of great riffs and melodies”
“Damage Control” was recorded in the fall of 2011 and is completed with appearances and co-writing along with his former and current band mates together with many guests including Jamie Borger and Nalley Påhlsson (Treat), Casey Grillo (Kamelot), Joel Hoekstra (Night Ranger) and legendary Y&T founding member Dave Meniketti. Jeff recalls: “Y&T drummer Mike Vanderhule played drums on a track and suggested I bring Dave on but, as he is a long time friend and one on the ‘wish list’ of people I would have loved to have, I didn’t want to get an excuse that he was too busy or not interested, to my surprise I got neither… he was willing to do it and I was not only grateful but beyond pleased to work with another musical hero!”
The album will be released in two exclusive configurations; the basic version in CD jewel box will include 11 songs, while the deluxe edition in digipak format has an additional 3 bonus tracks and a DVD. Full tracklisting is below:
CD: Give A Little More, Damage Control, Look Inside Your Heart, Die A Little, Take U Down*, If I Never Let Her Go, Tears That I Cry, BonaFide, Elena*, Krazy World, How To Love Again, AfterWorld, NeverEnding War, Afraid To Die*
* Bonus tracks only available on the Deluxe Edition.
DVD: Look Inside Your Heart (videoclip); NeverEnding War (videoclip); Damage Control (videoclip); EPK interview.
Jeff Scott Soto is currently planning tour dates that will support the release of the new record: “The plan is to do as much touring as possible wherever the World will have me. I plan to promote this album with a proper touring regiment!” concludes Jeff. Get ready for “Damage Control”, it will rock your World!

In the late 80s, Suicidal Tendencies ruled the thrash realm alongside bands like Megadeth and Anthrax. By 1989, the band’s popularity dwarfed that of their comrades. With hits like “Institutionalized,” “Join The Army,” and “How Will I Laugh Tomorrow, When I Can’t Even Smile Today,” Suicidal Tendencies were at the top of their game. In 2001, the band took a long hiatus before releasing a few compilation albums. During that time, lead singer, Mike Muir, released some solo CDs, under the moniker Cyco Miko. His latest Cyco Miko effort, The Mad Mad Muir Musical Tour is a gift to fans of Suicidal Tendencies everywhere.
Opening with the instrumental “MMM,” Mike Muir and company draw from Muir’s days in Suicidal Tendencies with an in your face, heart pounding, hard thrash opening. The album erupts from there, spilling out all of Muir’s influences. Muir reminds us all why we loved Suicidal Tendencies so much in the 80s and makes us long for a new album from the band. Gleaning bits of Suicidal Tendencies, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Primus, Cyco Miko combines thrash, funk, alternative, and groove, yet never clearly depicts one particular sound. Some fans will love the variety contained on this record, others will wish that Muir could make up his mind.
Overall, The Mad Mad Muir Musical Tour is a great disc. Heavy songs with deep lyrics like “Happiness” and “Done Gone Stupid,” will find fists in the air and forge shout-alongs in no time. The slower ballads like the Suicidal Tendencies cover “Alone,” and “Logical Thoughts Of A Lunatic” express the pain life puts everyone through. The deep spiritual growth contained in the songs can resonate with fans old and young. The style of music may be all over the map, but the sound is clearly enjoyable. Cyco Miko may not be able to proclaim one particular genre, but that’s all right. The strong songs found on The Mad Mad Muir Musical Tour don’t need to be pigeonholed into one category. They can all fall under the same label of great music.
