Legendary technical metal act, BELIEVER, are currently in the process of writing their fifth album. It’s their third for Metal Blade Records and the follow up to 2011’s Transhuman, which was heavily spun on SiriusXM’s Liquid Metal and received stellar reviews in print and online. BELIEVER also performed at last year’s New England Metal and Hardcore fest. Since then, the band has been writing new material.
Founding member Kurt Bachman elaborates; “As we begin the writing process, I feel that this will be the most sensual of all Believer releases. Once again we are striving to create something unique, while not throwing away any riff just because it might not fit the typical Believer mold. This is part of the process we love and hate. We love being creative, yet we place intense pressure on ourselves to write something we’ll enjoy hearing and playing at least 2060 times. Of course, we are sticking to our two main goals: 1) Have fun and 2) Don’t die in the process.”
While Bachman’s goals don’t seem all that lofty, the band is well known for their challenging and thought-provoking material, as seen on their previous two Metal Blade efforts, Gabriel and Transhuman. Updates regarding art and music will be made available within the coming months. Make sure to follow the band on facebook and twitter for the most immediate updates.
“Epic and memorable…a well rounded work of metal that is forward thinking on multiple levels, not to mention catchy as heck.” 9/10, Outburn Magazine
“I was so taken by it that I’ve since listened to it several times through… in a row! It’s worked its way onto my “favorite of 2011 so far” list, and I could definitely see it staying there all year. This album is worthy of the attention of just about any metal fan. It’s all over the map stylistically, but it’s got a unifying musical quality that ties it all together… its Believer-ness, if you will.” MetalSucks.net
“Adding color to some of the most bewildering – yet crushing – riffs you could ask for, are engaging elements of industrial, psychedelic and soundtrack music, courtesy of a host of programmed synths and sympathetic keyboards that confirm Believer as well and truly ahead of the pack.” About.com
“Believer has always exhibited a knack for composing oddly compelling tunes.” MetalReview.com
BELIEVER has gained worldwide recognition for their boundary-breaking, artistic form of extreme metal. Joined by bands Cynic and Pestilence, Roadrunner Records pushed a prog-metal/thrash campaign with the three bands called, “The Breed Beyond” and solidified BELIEVER among the ranks of unique, creative musical acts. The centerpiece of their 3rd release, Dimensions, was a metal opera that brought them great praise from fans and musicians worldwide and threw open the doors to collaborations between metal and orchestral musicians and sealed the band’s legacy.

KITTIE PARTS WAYS WITH IVY VUJIC, WELCOMES BACK BASSIST TRISH DOAN
KITTIE is pleased to announce the return of bassist Trish Doan to the band following the departure of Ivy Vujic. Doan was previously with the band from 2005-2007, appearing on the band’s 2007 release “Funeral for Yesterday.”
Ivy adds her own words, “After four amazing years of jamming with my crazy metal sisters, I am officially resigning. After a lot of touring and two albums, I feel it is time for me to move on. There are still other things for me to do in my life. Although I will always appreciate Kittie and the amazing fans we have, it does not fit my plans right now.” A full statement can be read HERE.
Trish will join the band live after their upcoming SOUNDWAVE FESTIVAL appearance in Australia and upcoming hometown shows later this month are completed. Doan comments,
“I am very happy to be reunited with the Kittie family. The girls and I have remained close friends over the last 7 years and I am excited to have this amazing opportunity. I am looking forward to seeing everyone when we go back on the road this spring. I wish Ivy all the best!”
The band is excited to do one more batch of live dates with Ivy as it gives fans a prime opportunity to come out and say their goodbyes. “Ivy has been friend and partner in crime for over 4 years, we love and respect her wishes to depart from the band and move onto another phase in her life.” says front woman Morgan Lander.
KITTIE will hit the road this spring in continued support of their latest release. Morgan concludes, “Trish has been a member of our extended family since she joined the band in 2005 and we are welcoming her back into the band with open arms. We are ecstatic that she will be returning to bass duties and are looking forward to the tour this spring! We love both girls and are glad that we all remain friends, first and foremost.”
KITTIE released “I’ve Failed You” earlier this year to much critical accolades. “I’ve Failed You is completely written and unequivocally hard as nails,” says Outburn Magazine. Thenewreview.net more directly states, “I’ve Failed You is their best album to date.”
The band also released two much talked about music videos. An in your face perfomance version of “Empires (Part 2)”, seen HERE. And a Zombie filled horror homage video for the song “We Are The Lamb”, seen HERE.
Critically acclaimed American blues rock guitarist, Walter Trout, today announced the release of his new studio album Blues For The Modern Daze. The album is released by Provogue Records (a division of Mascot Label Group), in the UK on Monday 23rd April, followed by US release on 24th April.
To support the upcoming album, Trout will embark on a UK tour in March. Ticket Hotline: 0844, 478 0898, www.thegigcartel.com. Dates include Leeds City Varieties (March 8), Sheffield O2 Academy (March 9), Clitheroe The Grand (March 10), Salford The Lowry (March 11), Bristol The Tunnel (March 15) and Tavistock The Wharf (March 16).
Blues for the Modern Daze, showcases the contemporary guitar legend’s return to his hardcore blues roots. The album is Trout’s sixth recording for Provogue, and his first fully-fledged blues album in 23 years as a bandleader. Trout’s practical schooling in blues started when he arrived in Los Angeles in 1973 and secured gigs behind Hooker, Big Mama Thornton, Finis Tasby, Pee Wee Crayton, Lowell Fulsom, Percy Mayfield and Joe Tex. By 1981 he joined the remaining original members of Canned Heat.
The turning point for Trout was his tenure with British blues giant John Mayall. Trout became part of the Bluesbreakers’ lineage of great guitarists along with Eric Clapton, Peter Green and Mick Taylor. By 1989, Trout formed his own band, released his debut album Life In the Jungle, and rapidly became a star in Europe. His first US release, 1998’s critically heralded Walter Trout, made him a permanent fixture in the American blues rock scene.
“My main inspiration for this album,” says Trout, “was the country bluesman Blind Willie Johnson, an early blues innovator who recorded such timeless gospel informed blues numbers as Soul of a Man and Nobody’s Fault But Mine. His music is beautiful, primal, direct and deeply spiritual. “The album explores a side of my music that’s rooted in my first musical love, and it reveals something about me, too. It sums up the thoughts and attitudes of somebody who is getting a little older and is feeling like he’s a part of another era, with different values and a different perspective on life that’s prevalent today.”

Slash is widely considered one of the greatest rock guitar players of all time. He has received countless accolades and awards including his forthcoming induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame set for April 2012. In 2007, Slash was inducted into Hollywood’s RockWalk (located in front of Guitar Center in Hollywood) alongside his idols Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix. An original member of iconic rock band Guns N’ Roses, the Grammy-winning Slash helped the band create signature sounds like the guitar riff of #1 hit “Sweet Child o’ Mine” and “Welcome To The Jungle.” The band dominated the 1980’s and 90’s music scene selling more than 100 million albums worldwide and ushered in a decade of hard-charging rock music. After leaving the band, Slash went on to critical acclaim in his personal project Slash’s Snakepit, and global success with the supergroup Velvet Revolver. He has been widely sought after by the biggest musicians of all time, performing with everyone from Michael Jackson to Stevie Wonder to Ray Charles. Slash recently landed on the top of the charts with his first true solo album, Slash. In addition, Slash was honored by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce who named him as an official selection for 2011 to receive a star on Hollywood’s iconic Walk of Fame. In February 2011, he performed at the Super Bowl XLV half time show, seen by more than 106 million people, becoming the most-watched program in U.S. television history (Nielsen Co.).
