SPIDER ROCKETS combines contemporary loud rock with classic rock elements. The New Jersey based band travels the sonic spectrum from dark and seductive to energetic to angry, with a dynamic live show and scream-along anthems. Interestingly enough for a band called SPIDER ROCKETS, it is a bit strange that every member of the band is afraid of spiders… Although it seems that they may be starting to overcome their fear based on the title of their new album, Bitten.
On Bitten, the band worked once again with producer Eric Rachel in New Jersey. In South Florida, Ryan Sambrook provided additional production and Zach Ziskin mixed the album. From both a compositional and performance standpoint, Bitten is the group’s strongest work to date. Long before completion of the record, an early rendition of one stand-out track “Scream,” garnered over 35,000 hits on YouTube without any promotional efforts and no official release. It is available for viewing below.
Now, savvy at the art of song-crafting, SPIDER ROCKETS is ready to unleash Bitten upon the masses. SPIDER ROCKETS will be lining up national tour dates in support of the album. Preliminary dates are listed below with more dates to be announced shortly.
SPIDER ROCKETS was one of the last acts famed manager Bill Aucoin (who has managed acts including Kiss, Lordi, Tantric and others) was contemplating taking on. When Aucoin passed away in 2010, his long time partner and companion, Roman Fernandez, took over day-to-day management of SPIDER ROCKETS. Fernandez did this because he truly believes in the band and wants to make sure SPIDER ROCKETS continue following in the legacy of Aucoin.
Bitten Track Listing:
1) Going Down
2) So High
4) Don’t Need You
7) Twilight Zone
8) Better When It’s Loud

Rock fans, rejoice! Hurt has returned with the follow up to 2009’s amazing Goodbye To The Machine. This time around, Hurt brings the rock with The Crux. While Goodbye To The Machine found the band leaning more toward the mainstream sound of modern day radio rock, The Crux is a closer return to the earlier, dark, heavy riffs found on Volume I and Volume II.
With a new lead guitarist and a new drummer in the band, it’s obvious that the sound of The Crux is going to vary from that of Goodbye To The Machine. Guitarist Paul Spatola was an exceptional talent that will be missed. And while Spatola’s guitar is absent from the current record, it allows Hurt the opportunity to venture toward a different direction, or in this case, a return to the sound of their earlier albums. If you like the darker side of Hurt, you will love The Crux.
While the first two tracks on The Crux (“So When” and “Eden”) are solid songs, it is the third track “Links & Waves” that really catches the listener’s attention. The unfortunate part is that this song clocks in at a mere 1:15 in length. All that did was leave me wanting more. It left me curious to know what would have happened had the band decided to expand this song and breathe more life into it.
“Caught In The Rain” is easily my favorite song on the record. As I tend to lean more toward the newer style of Hurt, it only makes sense that I would love this song. Also, the guitar solo ripped out by Michael Roberts is spectacular and worthy of some love. “Caught in the Rain” is a hard rocker with a modern edge, finding Hurt really hitting their groove.
“Cuffed” continues the more modern sounding music that I’ve grown to love from this band. More sharp guitar work from Roberts, and some expert changes overall, make this a powerful and enjoyable piece of music. J. Loren Wince’s rock screams can be heard deep into the track and adds plenty of replay value to the song. “Cuffed” finds Wince’s voice at its finest, and combined with the great Roberts guitar work, this track stands out as one of the best on the record.
“How We End Up Alone” is Hurt’s first single from The Crux. It is easy to understand why the band released this song. Starting out soft and melodic, “How We End Up Alone” builds in intensity to a crescendo bridge and chorus that unveils its true power. A darker, grittier tone is captured which adds character. Roberts solo sings on this song, and if he hadn’t earned his Hurt stripes up until that point, he definitely had them at the end of this song. “How We End Up Alone” is a superb track and one of the best cuts that Hurt has ever released.
As a follow up record, The Crux holds up well. Fans that are looking for more of the Goodbye To The Machine sound may find themselves disappointed. However, long time fans that enjoy early Hurt are going to find The Crux getting several replays on their IPods. The balancing act is the sound that lay between the two discs. Songs like “Caught In The Rain” and “How We End Up Alone” are the perfect hybrid of old and new Hurt. As the band continues to progress and grow, it is my hope that they will focus more on these types of hybrid creations. It could be the best sound Hurt has come up with.
The Crux will be released Tuesday, May 1st. Get Your copy of the CD here!

Pure Grain Audio is hosting an exclusive full album stream of Anhedonia. Check it out below!

Whilst loosely befitting the genre of thrash metal, the music of TERAMAZE conjures such adjectives as, “innovative”, “progressive” and “groove-laden” but most notably, “engaging”. Keeping the fundamental elements of metal alive in their music, TERAMAZE pushes metal into unchartered waters with guitar work that is incendiary and powerfully aggressive vocals that drive the song.
The Album Anhedonia was produced and mixed by Dean Wells and mastered by Lasse Lammert (Alestorm, Stuck Mojo Halcyon Way) Anhedonia is a critique of modern man’s diminishing ability to experience life’s simple pleasures.
TERAMAZE has been creating tidal waves on its native shores of Australia with its explosive live performances and is ready to bring its music to the masses on the world stage.

AUSTRALIAN POWERHOUSE LAURA WILDE IS CRASHING TED NUGENT’S NORTH AMERICAN TOUR – JUNE 2012
The ferocious debut—Sold My Soul—from Laura Wilde, the 22-year old hard rock import from Down Under (Melbourne, to be exact) was enough to land her on the upcoming Ted Nugent tour. Wilde is exactly that. She’s a hard-charging take-no-prisoners balls-to-the-wall rocker who wrote it all, sang it all, played lead guitar, bass guitar and drums on this, her gritty, powerful debut. Totally fearless, citing such influences as Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Joan Jett, and Dave Grohl, Wilde intends to knock out crowds on her leg of the upcoming tour.
“It’s truly an honor to be invited to tour the USA and I feel so privileged to be selected by such an established rocker, exclaims Wilde. “I promise to crank it up to 11 and shake the foundations before Ted brings the house down.”
Playing her signature Flying V electric guitar (created specifically for her), Wilde writes the kind of songs that dig down deep into the essence of what makes rock’n’roll so timeless. Her music is bred of the pure mono-maniacal aesthetic that fueled all the greats from Chuck Berry on. “I am really proud to finally present my debut album Sold My Soul. It is mostly an expression of the thoughts and feelings I experienced in my late teens. This album is almost an emotional journal touching on my dreams, wishes, lost loves and the adventure of growing up. It is an introduction to the body of work that I am really excited to share with my fans over time, a taste of things to come.”
On stage, Wilde boils with raw, passionate energy, with all the fire and brimstone of an artist who has truly sold her soul to the music. “If you have the spirit of rock’n'roll pumping through your veins,” she says, “resistance is futile. You have no choice but to succumb to its power. It makes you crazy, it gives you the courage to do things you would never dream of doing. Rock’n'roll is heaven and hell combined, but it’s what I love and I’ll fight for it to the end.”
Laura Wilde, at 16, was playing bass professionally. Her bottomless capacity for guitar knowledge manifested itself at 17 during a well-timed job at an instrument store. She suffered through one year of college to please her parents (“I found the environment to be too suppressive and conservative,” she says). At 18, her amazing chops landed her in recording studios as both a bassist and a guitarist for a plethora of major names. Her looks certainly didn’t hurt as she wound up as a fixture on television (Australia’s Got Talent, as a presenter and part of the house band). Still, all she wanted to do was rock.
Now, with the release of Sold My Soul, a video of the title-track single, and a series of dates with Ted Nugent, America will get to see what Australia already knows. Laura Wilde is the real deal. She will rock your socks off.

Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the signing of PLAYER to the label for the release of a yet untitled new album.
Best remembered for “Baby Come Back,” a song which topped the US single charts in 1978, Player original lineup included Peter Beckett (guitarist, lead vocalist), J.C. Crowley (guitarist, vocalist), Ronn Moss (bassist, vocalist) and John Friesen (drummer). After extensively playing the club scene in Southern California, Player began to develop a very distinctive edgy, yet very melodic rock style, and was signed by Robert Stigwood to his legendary RSO Records, home to The BeeGees, Eric Clapton, “Saturday Night Fever”, and “Grease”.
Among several notable accolades, Player was named Billboard’s Best New Singles Artist of 1978. Eric Clapton became so impressed with Player that he invited them to be the special guest on his 1978 North American tour. They also performed with Heart, Boz Scaggs, Kenny Loggins and Gino Vannelli to name a few.
Player went on to release four albums during their active touring years until 1982. Moss left in 1981 to pursue an acting career, and has starred for the past 25 years on the daytime soap opera “The Bold and the Beautiful”. JC Crowley pursued a career in country Music, while Beckett continued writing for other artists and movie soundtracks. He also did an eight year stint with Little River Band starting in 1990, while releasing an acclaimed solo cd ‘Beckett’ in 1991.
Beckett got back together with Ronn Moss in 1995, and recorded Player’s fifth album, “Lost in Reality” and toured the United States. Since then, Peter has produced, written and played on two solo CDs for Ronn Moss and composed music for “The Bold And The Beautiful”. Player restarted working on new songs and touring together in 2010. The new lineup features again original members Peter Beckett and Ronn Moss together with Rob Math (guitars), Johnny English (keyboards) and Craig Pilo (drums).
“Player has not released a cd for over 10 yrs. It’s great to actually be creating in the studio for the band once again, as opposed to our many other projects”, says Peter Beckett. “The new album will feature Player’s three part harmony very prominently and include the usual blend of rock and big melodies”.
Ronn Moss adds: “It’s been quite a while since our last record release. Feels great to finally be making new music. I’d say the “stuff of life” has played an integral part of influencing all non-musical activities the last several years. Personal endeavours, other work related ventures, and just being downright lazy, have all played a part in why we haven’t done this sooner than now. But in “now’s” defense, sometimes one has to wait until “now” happens before you can actually be there.”
As a special appetizer to the new release, and in connection with a promotional trip in Italy where Peter and Ronn will appear on several major radio and TV shows in the first week of May, Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the worldwide digital release only of a 3-songs EP entitled “My Addiction” on April 30th.
The EP will also include, along with the title track, “Too Many Reasons” and a new recording of “Baby Come Back” and sets the pace for the new album’s release which is planned for the second half of 2012.
“My Addiction – as well as “Too Many Reasons” – came from co-writing sessions between Beckett and Steve Plunkett. “ I have written tons of songs with “Plunk” over the last 20 years and will continue to do so. We sifted through our joint efforts to see what would fit Player” tells Peter. “Addiction” seemed to be a great choice. This song title was actually stolen from one of our other songs. The other song was actually about addiction. This one is a love song and a lot easier to listen to.
You can order / preorder “My Addiction” now on iTunes following this link:
“My Addiction” sample can be listened following this link:
The EP can also be purchased via Amazon worldwide, eMusic and all other digital retailers all over the world. The song “My Addiction” can be streamed in full on the Frontiers Records webradio: www.frontiers.it/webradio

At Vance has released their first video ever, in support of the title track of their new album, Facing Your Enemy. Check it out below!
The new album, Facing Your Enemy will be released today, April 27th in Europe, May 7th, in the U.K., and June 19th in the United States.
In the video for “The One That You Hated,” former Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler takes on destructive relationships with his new band. “The lyrics are about two people that are no good for each other, but for whatever reason won’t break up,” says frontman Jacob Bunton. “Maybe it’s the sex, maybe it’s the convenience, maybe they’re just scared to move on and start over, but a lot of people seem to be attracted to the people that they hate. Love and hate are intimately linked within the human brain.”
Although it’s an early Adler track, “Hated” was one of the last songs the band recorded for their album. “One night Slash was at the studio and we played him a couple of the songs,” reveals Bunton. “When this song started playing, he was grinning ear to ear, so we knew either it’s a kick-ass song or it’s so bad we’re making him laugh.”
For Adler, the new project is an invigoration, a fresh breath of creativity. “I love the music we’re creating!” he says. “I haven’t been this excited about my band since the GN’R days.” “Hated” is the first single off the band’s debut album, Adler. No release date has been set.
While on a tour of Europe this month, L.A. Guns has been incorporating some tracks in the set list from the new record, HOLLYWOOD FOREVER, out June 5 on Deadline/Cleopatra Records. The cover art, final track list, and a sneak peek at one of the songs are now available.

Drummer Vinny Appice spoke about “Voodoo Doll”:
“Voodoo Doll” is one of the earlier songs written together using more of a Zeppelin feel to it. Musically its builds from verse to verse which builds to a cool breakdown with bass and drums, then put it on 11 and vamp out to the end! It is one of the few songs that fade out on the album.”

Introducing TRESPASS AMERICA, a newly-minted music festival set on revitalizing the metal scene with some of the most current and credible bands in hard rock/metal. A co-production with Trespass America and Metal Hammer, the biggest metal magazine in the U.K., the tour kicks off July 13 at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, Colorado, and will cover 31 cities in two months between July and August with stops across the United States. Ticket on-sales begin this Friday, April 27; log onto www.trespassamerica.com for complete details.
Opening the show will be newcomers BATTLECROSS, the most-played new band on the SiriusXM channel, “Liquid Metal.” New Jersey monsters GOD FORBID, who just released a brand new album Equilibrium, will stir up the circle pits with new songs and hits spanning their long career. Deathcore masters EMMURE are coming out swinging in support of their new album, Slave to the Game. Michigan’s POP EVIL will carry the torch of grassroots hard rock to the crowd, while the melodic guitar thrash of TRIVIUM and the reunited lineup of metalcore legends KILLSWITCH ENGAGE will bring a crushing intensity to Trespass America.
Headlining the power-packed Trespass America Festival is FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH,the new heavy weight champs of the metal scene, with nine consecutive top ten radio hits, four Golden God awards, two certified Gold records (and a third in the making). Monstrous light shows and sold-out arenas have marked the path of 5FDP’s meteoric rise. In a few short years, the band knocked down the tightly shut gates of mainstream media and turned the non-believers into believers as they marched to bring a message from the underground.
As Five Finger Death Punch’s Zoltan Bathory, who helped spearhead the festival concept put it, “We will carry the flag into mainstream territory; we will trespass on their turf all across America. The combined power of Metal Hammer and all these bands enable us to make a statement, a really loud one. Heavy music wants its place back in the limelight, so get ready, because we are coming, and we are coming in numbers.”
“By bringing the Trespass Festival to North America,” said Metal Hammer’s editor Alexander Milas, “we’re not only promoting the music we believe in, we’re investing in it. We’re now doing in America what we’ve done for years in Europe and the UK.” Indeed, Metal Hammer has a long history of flying the flag for the bands it believes in, and over the course of 25 years, has been involved with a number of events, most recently the Defenders Of The Faith tour that covered the spectrum of metal and helped support the music U.K. scene. Metal Hammer is partners with Bloodstock Open Air and Download Festival and has its very own Hammerfest festivals in the U.K. “It has become increasingly apparent to us that supporters of Metal Hammer stretch well beyond the U.K. Thanks to the iPad, American metal fans can now get the magazine at the same time U.K. fans do, but by taking on this tour, we’re moving beyond our physical borders.”
The idea for Trespass America came about as a way to bring heavy music to big venues across the country. Bathory explained, “When you walk through the Trespass America gate, you will be in a different territory, a new environment. You’re not just coming to see a band. It’s going to be a traveling circus that has all the attraction and excitement that creates an experience. We wanted to build the biggest stage we could and make this festival as visually unforgettable as possible, really give fans their money’s worth, give them an experience where they will want to say, ‘I was there.’ We also wanted to play as many indoor venues as possible so all bands on the bill, no matter how early they play, would have a full light show with full production. We want to make Trespass America a theme-park-thrill-ride for metalheads.”
With Five Finger Death Punch leading the charge, up-and-comers Battlecross, Pop Evil, and Emmure, metal vets God Forbid, and heavyweights like Trivium and Killswitch Engage, all united under the Metal Hammer banner, the Trespass America Festival is definitely bound to set foot on the forbidden lawn of mainstream Rock-Culture.

Remember Malice In Wonderland?
The Norwegian rock band burst onto the Scandinavian rock scene with their self titled debut album in 2005. Led by hit single Lucifer’s Town the band was quickly labelled as one of the most promising underground rock acts and their fan base grew quickly with fan clubs and supporters in every corner of the world.
The quartet, renowned as a great energetic live act, toured in Norway and Europe and even played some very successful shows in China. In 2008 and 2009 the band lived partly in Finland were lots of concerts and TV performances were held. In 2010 the band withdraw from the spotlight, built their own recording studio and concentrated on writing and recording their sophomore album entitled “The Royal Brigade”.
“We had to take a step back and figure out what direction we wanted with the new album and with the band as a whole” frontman Chris Wicked reveals. “It`s been a long time since our debut. We also have a new line up now so there were several things we had to sort out, but I’ll tell you we are extremely pleased with how things have been progressing lately.”
Malice In Wonderland recently finished recording their sophomore album entitled “The Royal Brigade” and the band will now start looking for a suitable label to release the CD. Chris is positive about the future: “There is a whole new energy within in the group now! New music, new line up and a new area for Malice In Wonderland in general. The new album is filled with catchy, killer tracks that we are positive will please both new and old fans. We can’t wait to show people what we have been up to lately!”
If rock n’ roll is dead, someone must have forgotten to tell these Norwegians. With a new record full of bombastic high energetic quality rock songs, these guys are eager to prove that they indeed are a force to reckon with.
Every now and then, bands from yesteryear release a new album trying to cash in on the hopes that their remaining fans will buy some of their new music. At the least, it provides a reason to go out on tour, or join in on the festival circuit. More often than not, these cash-in releases are sub-par and usually best left not purchased. So, you can imagine my expectation level when the new Trixter CD, New Audio Machine came across my desk for review.
It’s so nice to report that this album was more than a pleasant surprise. I don’t know what Trixter has been up to for the last few years, but I do know that I wish they had more great music like what is contained on New Audio Machine. This is the best 80s band release since Whitesnake’s Forevermore.
I’ll admit that I haven’t paid any attention to Trixter since purchasing their debut album over 20 years ago. Their self titled debut was one of the greatest records of 1990, and the follow up, Hear, was decent, but was also a victim of bad timing. Nirvana and Soundgarden had emerged as the new sound of hard rock, knocking most 80s rock bands to the side. Trixter disappeared shortly thereafter and wouldn’t resurface until 2007. Now back with their first album of new material since 1992, Trixter is ready to rock with New Audio Machine.
New Audio Machine kicks off with the very catchy tune, “Drag Me Down.” An acoustic guitar romp opens the track reminiscent of Blue Murder’s “Jelly Roll,” before the song kicks into high gear, pounding the senses with some serious hard rock sounds. This song works very well as the lead track and reintroduction to Trixter It’s been 20 years since fans have heard new, original material from this band, and “Drag Me Down” is a great reminder of the superb music they can make.
“Live For Today” is one of two ballads on the record. While not the classic power ballad that hair metal is known for, “Live For Today” is a pretty song with meaning. Trixter has grown both emotionally and musically as a band, and this shows on “Live For Today.” With 20 years of history in their rearview mirror, Trixter is taking a moment to reflect on how fast life rips by us. The message in the music is to slow down and enjoy today for what it is. Tomorrow may not come, but if it does, let’s worry about it tomorrow. For all of us aging rockers, that is a poignant message.
“Tattoos & Misery,” the record’s first single, is the best song on the album and recalls the glory days of the 80s, being lived in the current decade. Blending the classic sound of Trixter’s debut with a touch of modern rock, “Tattoos & Misery” harkens back to the bad relationships of high school days while staying rooted in the modern template of today’s relationship struggles. Pete Loran’s voice is strong on this single and the harmony vocals by P.J. Farley and Steve Brown are exceptional. If you’re looking for a summer song to blast out of the stereo while cruising the highway with the windows down, this would be a solid choice.
It’s nice to see Trixter return to recording new material after a long absence. If New Audio Machine is any indication of the creativity that the band has left in them, then I can only hope that Trixter continues to record new material. New Audio Machine is the perfect blend of old and new, a worthy disc to reconnect fans with a long lost, often forgotten, solid rock and roll band. New Audio Machine is definitely worth checking out.

Baltimore rockers Charm City Devils invaded The Basement in Columbus, Ohio Sunday night. I wish I could tell you the band played to a packed house on this chilly Sunday evening, but unfortunately, they did not. This little promoted show had a small turn out, but to the guys in Charm City Devils rocked out as if there were 1,000 people in the building.
Singer John Allen mentioned to me prior to the show that he was getting over a bout with laryngitis. You would have never known this, as his vocals were stronger than ever. The band performed several songs off of their debut record Lets Rock-N-Roll and their recently released CD Sins. It was awesome to hear the new songs from Sins played live. The band played their new cover, and hit single “Man of Constant Sorrow”, “Love & War”, “Devil Is A Woman”, and “Unstoppable”. I thought their cover of The Black Keys tune “I Got Mine” was pretty cool too.
It has been nearly three years since I have last seen Charm City Devils play. The first and only time I seen them prior to this show was at Cruefest in 2009. I loved their brief set opening for Motley Crue back then, but they were much better this evening. They rocked the house, and I am hope they will return in “Spite” of the small turnout.
After the show, the band hung around and signed autographs, took pictures and hung out with the fans. They are easily some of the coolest and nicest musicians I have ever met. It was a great night of rock in Columbus, Ohio, and I am quite glad I went.
Don’t miss Charm City Devils when they come to your town. You can check out the band’s tour dates at the Charm City Devils website. Don’t forget to pick up a copy of Sins while you are there!

LITA FORD has teamed up with producer Gary Hoey and lyricist Michael Dan Ehmig to work on Living Like a Runaway. Together the team invested a lot of time and effort into this kick ass project: “We worked on the lyrics intensively to really give the songs a lot of meaning and that special emotional depth. I think that these are some of the best lyrics ever, period. FORD is referring to numbers such as ‘Devil In My Head,’ ‘Hate,’ and ‘The Asylum’ which see her bare her soul in a way which she has never done before.
Unlike many albums today, Living Like a Runawayis an album that truly must be heard in its entirety from start to finish. “Listeners shouldn’t pick out individual tracks but listen to the full album,” says FORD. “It’s a fascinating musical journey, inspired by Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. I had seen a documentary about Dark Side of the Moon and it really motivated me to focus on Living Like a Runawayas a whole journey rather just an individual song.
Coinciding with the album’s release, LITA is hitting the road this summer with Def Leppard and Poison on the “Rock of Ages Tour”. The dates for the first leg of the tour have been announced and are listed below. More dates are expected to be announced soon.
Following the demise of the Runaways, LITA FORD concentrated on her own career and now looks back on many memorable hits including: the chart topping duet with Ozzy Osbourne “Close Your Eyes Forever” “What Do You Know About Love”, “Shot Of Poison”, “Larger Than Life” and “Kiss Me Deadly”. With the release of Living Like A Runaway, expect many more songs to be added to the list of hits.
