0 Oxygen’s Final Warning Coming June 22nd!
Oxygen is a band from Sweden that excels in high quality Melodic Rock with an 80’s tinge.
Tony Niva began his musical career 1987 with a metal act called Zanity. They only recorded one demo-tape which was never to be released for the public masses. Tony also appeared on the single Down Town released with Swedish Erotica somewhere around 1988. After the sessions in Gothenburg Tony was a member in several musical acts around on his home ground regions, such as Malibu Band, Tracy Goes Crazy and Axia.
The band NIVA released “No Capitulation” in Japan in 1994. After this first NIVA release there was not much activity in terms of live performances, instead Tony composed own made material during that period.
At that point Tony was moving his musical direction from the metal genre. He made an appearance with the band Lion’s Share and they released the album “Entrance”.
Niva have now changed their musical prowess to more of the AOR and Melodic Rock style of direction, the new band is called Oxygen and the album is “Final Warning”. What this album is all about is highly infectious melodies and great songs. Oxygen have a knack of turning out great tunes, in the manner of Treat and such other great Swedish bands but they seem to have captured that great American / Canadian vibe of the early eighties, and vocally Tony sounds a little like Lou Nadeau of “Wrabit” so you can be sure they stand out from the crowd!
Oxygen are like a breath of fresh air and they put so much passion into their songs, this fantastic album should be a big hit with all those who love Scandinavian Melodic rock but also love how it was originally done in the 80’s on the other side of the Atlantic.

4- I remember

8 Vie’s Verses – Five Cover Songs That Bands Have Made Their Own
Sometimes when a band releases a cover song, fans scratch their heads and say “what were they thinking?” Sometimes fans think to themselves, “Hey, that wasn’t so bad. That’s a pretty cool cover.” And then there are times when a band covers a song so well that no other version is remembered. In some instances, fans don’t even realize that it is a cover song. Here are five such songs that bands have made their own, by recording a version so memorable, it destroys the original.
Faster Pussycat – You’re So Vain
Originally recorded by Lite FM radio darling Carly Simon, Faster Pussycat’s version of “You’re So Vain” is one of the best cover songs ever recorded by any band anywhere. Their dedication to the song and the transformation from sappy, easy rock, to sleazy hair metal, was brilliant. Converting this song into a metal mainstay had to be a painstaking chore, but Faster Pussycat did it with conviction. Anytime that I hear the original version, I immediately think of the (far superior) Faster Pussycat version and have to crank it on my I-Pod. Taime Down’s vocals are exceptional on this recording, and the power that the band put into their version is superb. Faster Pussycat made “You’re So Vain” a fun song. And while the theme of the song is still the same, there is something about the Faster Pussycat version that makes it too enjoyable to be considered a “sad” song. Whenever I think of great cover songs, this is the first one that comes to mind.
Van Halen – Ice Cream Man
Take one old blues tune, add one screaming Eddie Van Halen guitar solo, and a lot of David Lee Roth scat-doo-bop-wop, and you have the musical recipe for a delicious cover song. Originally recorded by John Brim in 1953, this blues classic became a fan favorite and a staple of the Van Halen catalog. If you’ve ever heard the original version of this song, then you know how Van Halen drastically changed it. They took a slow picked, harmonica blues song, and turned it into a powerful riff driven, screaming rock song. Prior to Van Halen’s version, a lesser known cover by Tom Waits had been recorded. However, it was Van Halen’s version of this song that brought it the fame. Most fans didn’t even realize it was a cover song, mistaking it to be a VH original. And while the original is decent and maintains the same semblance of the modern version, it is the Van Halen style that put their stamp on this song and made it their own. Van Halen would go on to record many more cover tunes over the years, but none were as fantastic as “Ice Cream Man.”
Charm City Devils – Man of Constant Sorrow
New to this list is the recently released “Man Of Constant Sorrow” by Charm City Devils. For reasons that are similar to Van Halen’s recording of “Ice Cream Man,” Charm City Devils took an old folk song (well over 100 years old) and put their own smoking riffs to it, resulting in a hard rock beauty that is quickly climbing the charts. While Charm City Devils is currently known for their party anthem “Let’s Rock And Roll,” that could quickly change as “Man Of Constant Sorrow” could become their signature song. They’ve already killed any other cover versions that exist (and there are plenty) with their hard rocking version, so it’s safe to say that it’s only a matter of time before people (and fans) forget that this is not a Charm City Devils original.
Tesla – Little Suzi
For years, I never knew that this was a cover song. It wasn’t until I saw Tesla in concert with Rob Rockitt that he filled me in to the fact that “Little Suzi” was not a Tesla original. Originally recorded by PhD as “Little Suzi’s On The Up,” Tesla took an electronic keyboard, almost unlistenable song and made it a modern day rocker. If you’ve never heard the original version and want to see the stark contrast between Tesla’s version and the original recording by PhD, look it up online. It is amazing to see how drastically this song was changed. Tesla took a garbage song (PhD’s version is terrible) and recorded one of their greatest songs ever. Tesla may be forever known as the band that recorded “Love Song,” but their transformation of “Little Suzi” is truly one of the defining moments of their career.
Guns N Roses – Knocking On Heaven’s Door
Whenever I hear Guns N Roses version of “Knocking On Heaven’s Door” I always forget that this was originally done by Bob Dylan. While Dylan did a great, haunting original, Guns N Roses took this song and truly made it their own. What Guns added to this song was the missing element of power. When Axl leads the crescendo into a scream toward the end of the song (Knock, knock, knocking on heaven’s door….yeah!), I get chills. Although released on Use Your Illusion II, Guns had been covering this song since their early days on the strip. The years of live play, gave the band time to hone their signature sound on “Knocking On Heaven’s Door.” A finer version of this song is not known to me, and that includes the original.
I’m sure that there are many other cover songs that could have made this list, so don’t be surprised to see a couple of sequels to this post in the future. What cover songs can you think of that a band has made their own? Drop a line in the comments section and share your opinion.

0 Tommy Shaw Releases Statement About Dick Clark
Here’s a statement from Styx guitarist Tommy Shaw, who appeared on “American Bandstand” in 1985:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z54P56hlbK0&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PLD566FBCE61FC7E62
So sad hearing the news that Dick Clark died. Such an awesome man. I appeared several times on his productions. One of my favorites was on this clip. I remember just having gotten lingual braces (the hidden ones that go on the back side of your teeth) and as you can tell I was still getting used to speaking with them. He and his wife Kari were incredibly gracious and I will always remember how their gentle ways trickled down through the ranks at Dick Clark Productions. He’s up there with Johnny Carson and Ed Sullivan as pioneers in entertainment. He was a class act whose joy came through in all that he created for us to enjoy.

1 JORN to release “Bring Heavy Rock To The Land” on Frontiers in June; Audio Sample Available
Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of a brand new JORN studio album : “Bring Heavy Rock To The Land” on June 1st in Europe and June 5th in North America.
Following a three year silence since the release of “Spirit Black”, JORN unleashes upon the world yet another original studio album “Bring Heavy Rock To The Land”: another slab of classic Hard Rock with Metal elements! “I think this album follows a similar JORN-tradition like those before, more Heavy Rock oriented than Metal” says Jorn “But as usual it’s not one musical expression all the way through the album, but a variety of musical landscapes within the categories of Rock and Metal”.
A winning formula should not change, so Jorn has again worked with Tommy Hansen at Jailhouse Studios in Denmark, who mixed the album, ensuring the right edge to the rich guitar and vocal sound that is now trademark to all JORN releases. The lineup sees the return of Jimmy Iversen on guitar who also appeared on “Spirit Black”. The pairing with Tore Moren works really well and gives Jorn’s sound the usual depth and solidity.
As usual, in addition to the original material, Jorn offers some interesting covers. This time Masterplan’s “Time to Be King” and Christopher Cross’ “Ride Like The Wind” are the ones to get the Jorn treatment. “When we wrote “Time To Be King” I heard a different and more rock oriented arrangement in my mind” tells Jorn, “so after the Masterplan album was released I couldn’t stop thinking about how it would sound if it was recorded with this other arrangement. I don’t know which one’s better, I have ended up liking both versions. As to Christopher Cross, I have always loved “West Coast” oriented music and bands like 10cc, Pages, Santana, Little River Band, Eagles and so on. So I thought “Ride Like The Wind” would be a good song to do Jorn style. Saxon also released a version of this song in the 80’s, and the arrangement we made ended up beeing a mix between the original version and Saxon’s. It’s also a fun song to sing and play”.
Jorn Lande’s strong and diverse voice and solid songwriting skills have now become legendary in the Hard Rock world. In a career spanning over close to 40 album releases, as frontman for Ark and Masterplan, in addition to featuring on spectacular projects such as Nostradamus The Rock Opera, Beyond Twilight “The Devil’s Hall of Fame”, Tobias Sammet’s “Avantasia” and Ayreon.
“If you buy a Jorn album today, you know what you will get” states Jorn Lande. You are guaranteed to get your adrenaline going with the riveting sound that has solid roots in classic hard rock/heavy metal music, such as Dio, Black Sabbath, Rainbow and Whitesnake.
“Bring Heavy Rock To The Land” will include the following songs:
My Road; Bring Heavy Rock To The Land; A Thousand Cuts; Ride Like The Wind; Chains Around You; The World I See; Time To Be King; Ride To The Guns; Black Morning; I Came To Rock; Live And Let Fly (bonus track).
The title track “Bring Heavy Rock To The Land” will be released as a single worldwide on May 14th and can be exclusively listened to in streaming on the Frontiers Records webradio http://www.frontiers.it/webradio – A videoclip for the song is in the works and will be directed by Thomas Tjäder (Pretty Maids, In Flames). According to Jorn: “The title track has really a strong Jorn trademark. It was a natural choice for a title track, I felt the same about “Lonely Are The Brave” back in 2008. Sometimes one song’s got the magic and you just know it. “Bring Heavy Rock To The Land” is such a song and regardless of how the whole album is evaluated by critics, I feel that this song will live on and become an essential Jorn classic !”
Jorn will appear live in selected shows in Europe during the summer.

0 SMILE EMPTY SOUL DEBUT BRAND NEW SINGLE; PRE-ORDERS LIVE NOW
SMILE EMPTY SOUL have debuted their brand new single called “Afterlife“ this morning exclusively on Noisecreep. “We’re really excited about ‘Afterlife’ being our first single because it represents our new album very well. It’s dark and heavy, but still has a level of catchiness and memorability.” says front man Seasn Danielsen. Click HERE or the image above to hear the track.
The band will release their brand new record “3’s” on May 22, 2012. This new effort will be a followup effort to “More Anxiety” which was released in 2010. Danielsen continues, “‘3’s’ is the best record we’ve made. It’s more musical and mature, yet still has the ‘Smile’ sound that our fans are looking for.” “3’s” was recorded in the band’s native Southern California at a handful of studios in the Valley and North Hollywood. Producer Eddie Wohl, who worked with the band on “Consciousness”, also manned the board on the new album at his Babyland Studios. The level of comfort with Wohl helped make “3’s” the consistent, tightly constructed album that it is. “He gets us and our sound,” Danielsen said.
Preview or pre-order the album on iTunes HERE. SMILE EMPTY SOUL will hit the road in support of their brand new release, presented by Jägermeister.
Formed in 1998, SMILE EMPTY SOUL has certainly seen the inside of the music business. With a top 10 hit single like “Bottom of a Bottle,” countless tours and a certified gold record under their belt the band shows no signs of stopping now.
12 Former Child’s Play Singer Brian Jack Passes Away
I just learned that former Child’s Play singer Brian Jack has passed away. I am dumbfounded and shocked by this terrible news. I have been a fan of Child’s Play for years, and still love their album Rat Race to this very day. I had the pleasure of talking to former Child’s Play drummer John Allen Sunday night, and was just talking about Child’s Play with him.
John posted the following message today:
“I am completely shocked and saddened by the death of Brian Jack. He was one of the most gifted, charismatic artists I have ever had the pleasure of sharing the stage with. He along with the rest of the guys were the brothers I never had. I will miss him incredibly.”
For those of you who are not familiar with Brian, I have provided a bio on Brian below, courtesy of Gabi Records:
Brian Jack, a Baltimore, Maryland native, has been playing music since he was in high school. From 1984 until 1991, he played in the band Child’s Play, a back to the basics, rock’n roll band. Child’s Play went through several changes before their most known line up, which featured Brian as the lead singer and very dynamic front man, also playing lead and rhythm guitar on many of the songs.
Child’s Play had a very strong following in the Mid-Atlantic area. In 1990, they were signed by Chrysalis Records and soon released their debut album, Rat Race. Child’s Play toured nationwide in support of their release. They had one video, which was also the title track, the song called Rat Race. Their music was played on radio stations nationwide. Although Child’s Play was a great band, it was time to move on. Brian was ready to broaden his horizons and try something new. He had started to grow out of the band that gave him his start in music. He had been wanting to change his musical direction for a while, and had been working on his own material on the side. It was now time to let everyone hear the other side of Brian Jack. In 1991, Brian left Child’s Play to start his solo career in music.
This other side of Brian wanted to play music and sing songs with more mood and feeling to them. Brian has the kind of voice that sounds good whether singing a hard driving rock song or a timeless love song. He has a very strong voice, yet at the same time it has an airiness to it that gives him a very sexy sound. His new musical style features upbeat rock songs, as well as beautiful ballads.
In 1992, Brian independently released his first solo effort, a CD titled Promise of Love, which shows the softer side of Brian. With all the loads of requests, soon the major local radio station, 98Rock, was playing Brian’s CD like crazy. Before long, other radio stations throughout the Mid-Atlantic area got wind of it and were soon playing the CD also. For a unsigned musician, the CD got very heavy radio airplay and sold extremely well. In all, the CD sold over 10,000 copies!!! And that’s without a major record label backing him. Just by word of mouth, Brian became one of the hottest things in the Mid-Atlantic area!!!
Rest In Peace Brian, you will be missed by many!
0 KILL DEVIL HILL – New Audio Sample of “Revenge” Available

Today on their official Facebook Page, KILL DEVIL HILL have unveiled another song sample from their self-titled debut. Head over to http://www.facebook.com/killdevilhillmusic and check out a sample of the track “Revenge”.
Guitarist Mark Zavon explains the origins of “Revenge”:
“Revenge was originally called “Queen Anne’s Revenge”, which was the name of Blackbeard’s flagship that he took in battle from the French Navy and subsequently sailed against them to great effect.
After reading that story years ago, I always thought that the name of the ship seemed like a great metaphor for revenge, and started working on the idea. As we started refining the final arrangement it made more sense to change it to Revenge.
Revolver Magazine is hosting an exclusive stream of the first track from KILL DEVIL HILL’s self-titled debut album. The track entitled “Time and Time Again” can be streamed exclusively at http://t.co/4LHY9sIs.

0 Circus Maximus To Release “Nine” Via Frontiers Records In June!
Five years of waiting for CIRCUS MAXIMUS new masterpiece album “Nine” to be released in worldwide June on Frontiers
Frontiers Records is excited to announce the release of the anticipated third album from Norwegian Progsters CIRCUS MAXIMUS entitled “Nine” on June 1st in Europe and June 5th in North America.
Five years after the successful release of the concept album “Isolate”, this time Circus Maximus are back with a strong and mature cd. “A lot happened in our personal lives during the past few years “, explains drummer Truls Haugen. “Three of us had kids, plus we also had a several bumps in the road with the production. So it has not exactly been a joyride, but it feels great to finally be done, and after all this time we are ready to unleash our new monster !”
Circus Maximus spent anyway their time also working hard to further refining their sound. With “Nine” they are poised to take their place alongside the upper echelon of Progressive Metal bands. The band’s musical formula is not easy to accomplish – take jaw dropping musicianship, add a singer like Michael Eriksen with a voice from heaven and toss it together with hooks, anthemic melodies and enough groove and heavy riffing that really gets into your head.
For this new record the band presents the best of both worlds – offering their most melodic and at the same time heaviest moments of their repertoire, with class and maturity which is really from another world. “The majority of the material on the new record was written by Mats Haugen and he has taken the music to a kind of simpler and more accessible approach, yet kept the progressive elements and the “nerve” that is Circus Maximus” says Truls Haugen. “We’re actually more melodic and heavier on this new record than we’ve ever been”.
The re-defining sound, the songwriting and the clever production, highlights the band as one of the leading, original Progressive-Metal band around. “Nine” is an absolute contender for Top Album of the year, transcending the boundaries and subgenres of Hard Rock music!
“Nine” will include the following tracks: Forging; Architect Of Fortune; Namaste; Game Of Life; Reach Within; I Am; Used; The One; Burn After Reading; Last Goodbye.
“Reach Within” will be released as a single worldwide on April 27th and can be exclusively listened in streaming on the Frontiers Records webradio http://www.frontiers.it/webradio – A videoclip for the song is in the works.
Circus Maximus will appear live in some selected shows in the summer before launching a full scale tour in support of the new album. “We will definitely represent this album live to the whole World” concludes Truls Haugen, “We will do more live shows and more touring than ever and we really cant wait to get back on the road!”

0 The Veer Union – Divide The Blackened Sky (2012)
Like any vice, The Veer Union is enjoyed more and more over time. At first listen, Divide The Blackened Sky is a decent record that has some potential. After a few listens, it is recognized more as a great album that needs to be heard. After several listens, it is classified as one of the strongest modern rock releases this year that everyone needs to hear.
Divide The Blackened Sky is the sophomore effort for modern rock darlings, The Veer Union. Following up their successful debut, Against The Grain, The Veer Union have released another album filled with modern rock delights. Hard rocking power riffs, strong vocals, and excellent drum beats all combine to make Divide The Blackened Sky an excellent release.
“Borderline” starts the album and shows off The Veer Union’s strengths—powerful rock, with a heavy beat. This is modern rock with an edge. The influences of bands like Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace can be heard throughout the disc, but “Borderline” is where these influences stand out the most. If you are a Breaking Benjamin fan, you will love the lead track from Divide The Blackened Sky.
On their sophomore release, The Veer Union decided to go all power. No ballads made an appearance on this record, however, they aren’t missed. Usually modern rock records need balance between the hard rock hits, and the loving ballads. Divide The Blackened Sky mixes melody and power so well, that the lack of ballads isn’t a deterrent to the record.
“Inside Our Scars” is the strongest song on the disc and the most enjoyable track as well. Lead singer Crispin Earl has a chance to show off the true power of his vocals and sings like a siren. While the intro of the song might have listeners thinking that it is a ballad, the song kicks in so heavy halfway through, that the hard rock prevails. Drummer Neil Beaton shows off his talents as well, playing some of the best drums of the record on “Inside Our Scars.”
Divide The Blackened Sky is a strong release, especially considering the expectations following such a solid debut. The Veer Union didn’t shy away from the challenge and put out a heavy, dark, hard rocking record, worthy of being called the follow up to their first release. If you’ve been looking for a new band to add to your rotation, I highly recommend The Veer Union. Divide The Blackened Sky is an addictive record. The more you spin it, the more you want to hear it.

0 Cruefest Atlanta Details Announced
For more than 10 years, the event known as “Crüefest” has promoted bands that follow in the spirit of the rock band Motley Crüe. The charity events are held throughout the year at various locations around the world to spotlight these bands and to raise money for the Skylar Neil Foundation.
In 1995, Motley Crüe lead singer Vince Neil lost his daughter Skylar to cancer. Since that time, he has tried to do everything he can do to help raise awareness and much needed funding for children’s illnesses. Vince is so humbled by the response the Crüefest events have received.
To date, Crüefest charity events across the world have helped Vince raise nearly two million dollars to fund research to combat cancer, AIDS, and leukemia. Vince knows that Skylar would be proud of the work that we’ve done, and couldn’t think of a better way to honor her memory.
English Nick of 97.1 The River will host the third annual Cruefest Atlanta charity event, set to take place June 1, 2012 at the 10 High Club in Atlanta, Georgia. Scheduled performers include THE UNSATISFIED, HELLYEN, CITIZEN ICON, DURTY ROCKSTAR (featuring former GYPSY PISTOLERO bassist Aaron “ANGEL” Lee), a one night only reunion of THE LIVING ABORTIONS and MOTLEY CRUE tribute band DR. FEELGOOD OF ATLANTA.
Attendees are asked to come celebrate the miracle of life with us and help raise funds to continue the fight against childhood diseases. The highlight of Crüefest Atlanta is the opportunity for Motley Crüe fans to come together and have a great time while raising money for a worthy cause.
All proceeds will be donated directly to the Skylar Neil Foundation. Our last 2 events raised over $7,000 for charity through ticket sales and drawings for merchandise donated by our generous sponsors. This year we hope to raise even more!
The bands make this an event to remember by donating their talent, and businesses can help make the event a success with financial contributions and donating merchandise to be used in our drawings. If you would like to donate an item to our gift bags, auction or raffle, please send an email to CRUEFESTATLANTA@HOTMAIL.COM or or send us a message at https://www.facebook.com/cruefestatlanta!

Here are some critical soundbites from the media about A DRAMATIC TURN OF EVENTS, the band’s 11th studio album.
“The group’s members are clearly enjoying a rediscovered melodicism and experimentation in their songwriting. Dream Theater digs in with impressive might into hook-heavy twisting journeys like ‘Bridges In The Sky,’ ‘Breaking All Illusions’ and ‘Outcry,’ yet also softens into a vulnerability never heard before on songs like ‘Far From Heaven’ and ‘Beneath The Surface’…Fans, rejoice: The spirit carries on, every much intact.”
–Chuck Taylor, BILLBOARD, October 15, 2011
“’Spine-tingling’ is a term that can be applied to the whole of the album… Dream Theater’s stunning new masterpiece, which sees the band – Petrucci, LaBrie, bassist John Myung, keyboardist Jordan Rudess and new drummer Mike Mangini – performing at the top of their game. Mixed by Grammy Award winner Andy Wallace (Nirvana, Rage Against The Machine), it’s a sonic wonder that keeps revealing surprises even after multiple spins.”
–Joe Bosso, MUSICRADAR.COM, August 17, 2011
“Dream Theater have done exactly what they needed to do with this album. John Petrucci’s production is fantastic … This is classic Dream Theater, and it’s their best for many years. ”

1 HEATHEN SIGNS WITH NUCLEAR BLAST!
The ink has finally dried and Nuclear Blast Records is proud to announce the worldwide signing of the Bay Area’s indomitable thrash metal band HEATHEN!
Founding member & guitarist Lee Altus comments on the new alliance:
“I’m really happy and couldn’t think of a better label for HEATHEN. I’ve known people at Nuclear Blast, some of whom have been fans of the band going as far back as the early demo days, and have been friends with them for many years. It’s amazing for me to think that throughout this band’s career, every album we recorded has been released on a different label. I can finally say that we have found home. Nuclear Blast has become a mecca for Bay Area thrash bands and we are happy to join our friends and partners in crime Exodus, Death Angel, Testament and Forbidden. Now it’s time to get to work on the new album!”
Lead singer David White adds: “I want to thank all the fans for their amazing support; we do not take any of this lightly! Now we move forward with a true Metal record company that really understands what we’re all about, 2012 and beyond!!!”
Jaap Wagemaker of the A&R Department at Nuclear Blast Germany shares the following:
“It is no secret that the staff of Nuclear Blast has a soft spot for thrash metal. We all grew up here with classics such as Breaking The Silence and Victims Of Deception, and who doesn’t remember that legendary tour from 1991 with SEPULTURA, SACRED REICH and HEATHEN destroying the stages night after night! We are totally stoked to announce that these legendary Bay Area Thrashers have inked a deal with us and are now labelmates with EXODUS, DEATH ANGEL,TESTAMENT, FORBIDDEN, ANTHRAX, SEPULTURA, OVERKILL, KREATOR, DESTRUCTION and TANKARD!!! Since HEATHEN’s reunion for Thrash of the Titans, we had been following the band very closely over the last couple of years with first-hand information from Lee Altus – who is also swinging the axe in EXODUS – and what we heard from him made us very curious! After seeing HEATHEN play an amazing show at Rock Hard and their release of another classic album with The Evolution of Chaos, it was very clear to us that the band needed to become part of the Nuclear family as well. Seeing the band play several times at last year’s Thrashfest Classics, we were finally able to make this work!! With the signing of HEATHEN, another thrash dream has came true!! Welcome home guys!!!”
Forged in the fertile breeding ground of the Bay Area’s thrash scene in 1984 and debuting onto the worldwide tape-trading scene in 1986 with their six-song “Pray For Death” demo, HEATHEN went on to create the now classic Breaking The Silence in 1987 (whose opening track “Death By Hanging” quickly became a live staple) and 1991’s Victims Of Deception, which included the nine-and-a-half minute opus “Heathen’s Song.”
Reunited in 2001 for San Francisco’s Thrash of the Titans benefit for Testament’s Chuck Billy and Death’s Chuck Schuldiner, HEATHEN reemerged in full force after a 19-year absence with stellar reviews for 2010’s The Evolution Of Chaos and will begin recording their fourth studio album later this year.
HEATHEN has performed their brand of guitar-driven, fuel-injected thrash metal in Europe at numerous summer festivals, on the Thrash Fest Classics tour with co-headliners Exodus & Sepultura, and the Killfest tour with Overkill, in North America on last year’s spring tour with Destruction, and most recently at the “Bonded By Baloff: A Decade Of Remembrance” memorial in Oakland in February. Their live sets continually test the endurance of headbanging audiences everywhere.
HEATHEN 2012 is David White on vocals; Lee Altus on guitar; Kragen Lum on guitar; Jason Viebrooks on bass; and Darren Minter on drums.
