Rest In Peace – Jon Lord – 6/9/1941 – 7/16/2011

One of the greatest hard rock musicians to ever grace the keyboard passed away today. Former Deep Purple keyboardist suffered a fatal pulmonary embolism today after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Jon was 71 years old.

We will never forget his awesome playing with Deep Purple and Whitesnake. Our condolences go out to Jon’s family, friends and former band mates.

  3. R.I.P. Jon :( He will be missed by many. A true King of the Keyboard.

  4. When I think about the people who helped shape the sound which became Metal, Jon is near the top of the list. Deep Purple’s influence cannot be denied. Even during the age where keyboards were shunned by the metal community, Jon seemed to escape the nastiness. RIP Jon. Your genius will live on.
