HARDCORE SUPERSTAR are happy to announce the release of a new album via Nuclear Blast in early 2013! The record is entitled “C’mon Take On Me”, was produced by the band, mixed by Randy Staub (METALLICA, MÖTLEY CRÜE, THE CULT) and will be out on the 1st of March 2013.
The band comments on the recording process: “We found this cool abandoned studio that we took over, where we spent the entire summer tracking songs in between the shows. Speaking of shows – we’ll start rehearsing in January so that we’ll be ready to play live everywhere again soon. If there’s a stage, we’ll rock it!!!”
The swedish Heavy Metal bloodbrothers of ENFORCER recently signed a new worldwide record deal with Nuclear Blast Records. Their new album is called “Death By Fire” and will be released on February, 1st.
Bandleader, vocalist and guitar player Olof Wikstrand comments: “It feels great to finally have finished this long awaited third ENFORCER record. Now with Nuclear Blast on board we’re gonna make sure to spread it to every corner of this planet. You can expect nothing but the total, self defining ENFORCER record.”
Nuclear Blast head of A&R, Andy Siry says: “We’ve been following the career of ENFORCER since their debut album, because from there on, they formed the spearhead of a new, young generation of traditionally influenced metal. We’re impressed by the bands consequent and authentic appearance, whether on stage, concerning their sound, their image and so on. This reminds of the atmosphere of departure and the rebellion, heavy metal represented at the beginning of the 80’s. ENFORCER have got that special something, represent their ideals and they know what they want. We’re looking forward to the upcoming CD and a long successful cooperation.”
Hinder’s new album, Welcome To the Freak Show, will be released next Tuesday, December 4th. You can listen to the album below!
Just in time for the start of the Swiss tour and on the last part of their successful “Firebirth” world tour 2012, GOTTHARD heats things up with “Give Me Real” their new fan video!
What usually requires long days of shooting with countless takes was made in Chile in an afternoon “First Take.” The result is pure emotion! Like hardly any other clip it captures the magic between the band, fans and live performance.
The video was shot spontaneously at the start of the Tour during the sound check. It was only the second show with singer Nic Maeder and is the fastest video shoot of the band’s history. The director from South America only needed one run-through. The film was shot in Chile, home of creative TV talent. In addition to the band, two known South American actors can be seen, the only 25-year-old Leon Bravo and the 24-year- old Paula Pardo.
“We were immediately enthusiastic about the idea when the director came up with the idea of making the clip on tour in Chile” says bassist Marc Lynn. “We were all curious to shoot in South America and to work with a local team. Also the fact that we were on tour and did not have two whole days as usual for a video shoot but only a few hours in the afternoon, was an exciting challenge. We got to know a lot from the people there and their sweeping, spirited way of working.”

I have been listening to Aerosmith’s Music From Another Dimension for a couple of weeks now. I was hoping that my initial opinion of this release would change with a few repeat listens. My opinion hasn’t changed at all. Music From Another Dimension is just average.
Quite frankly, I didn’t have high hopes for Aerosmith’s latest effort. With there being so much infighting in the band, and Steven Tyler’s stint on American Idol, I was doubtful that the band, in its current state of health
could deliver an album worthy of the Aerosmith name.
After listening to the CD several times, my thoughts are this: Music From Another Dimension suffers from too many ballads, too many tracks, and an overall cohesive feel. Sure there are some good songs, but nothing that will probably overwhelm you, and say OOOOOH, I have to run out and buy the new Aerosmith album. If you are an Aerosmith fan, chances are you probably have this in your collection already anyway.
On a positive note, the band has brought in Jack Douglas to produce the album, and the overall production is very good.
The album starts off strong enough, but about midway through it starts to taper off, and suffers from far too many ballads.
The opening track “Luv XXX” sounds like a classic Aerosmith track, and that is great, but the lyrics are just stupid. The song does grow on you though.
“Oh Yeah” sounds like it could have been on Get A Grip. This is a pretty catchy, yet simple tune.
“Beautiful” could possibly be a hit for Aerosmith, but time will tell on this one. The jangly guitars give this song a feel more akin to Aerosmith’s later material, but I am a fan of all eras of Aerosmith so that isn’t a problem for me.
“Out Go The Lights” might just have one of the best Aerosmith riffs in recent years, the problem with this song is the background singers. I think the background singers weaken the track with their vocal piece on the lyrics “If You Want to Take A Lookie, Cookie Tonight Might Be Your Lucky, Nighty Nite Nite”. I think it could have been a stronger song without this. The song seems to go on forever too. It is about two minutes longer than it needs to be. This song could have been one of Aerosmith’s biggest hits, but it is overall a let down.
“Legendary Child” was the first single from the album, and this song is actually pretty good. I think this song could have easily been on Pump, but the song is a leftover demo from “Get A Grip”. I am glad they decided to use this song. I like this one pretty well.
“What Could Have Been Love” is the first sappy Aerosmith ballad, and this song will likely be a COUNTRY hit for Aerosmith. One word defines my opinion of this song, “BLECH”!!!. I skip this song every time. (You can check it out in the video below).
Every time I listen to “Street Jesus” I start thinking “Sweet Emotion”. I guess it is the vocal part on the chorus that is similar between the “Street” and “Sweet”.
I like this song a lot, even if it does somewhat borrow from one of Aerosmith’s biggest hits.
“Can’t Stop Lovin’ You” features a duet with Country superstar Carrie Underwood. I have to question Aerosmith’s sanity on this one. Are they looking to recreate some magic, the way they did with RUN DMC in the 80’s? If you wanted to gain a bunch of new country fans, bringing in Carrie Underwood is probably a great idea, but not so much for the rock crowd. I don’t have any problems with Carrie Underwood. She is a hell of a singer. It just seems odd to have a country singer on an Aerosmith album. Oddly enough, this song has less of a country feel than “What Could Have Been Love”. I think this song would have been better suited on a Steven Tyler solo album, than an Aerosmith album, but that is just me.
After a few non-Aerosmtih sounding tracks, we finally get another rocker with “Lover Alot”. This one is pretty catchy, and ought to translate well live.
Joe Perry handles the vocals on “Freedom Fighter”, and as much as I love Joe’s guitar work, I don’t care for his voice very much. The lyrics on this song are pretty good. It is a shame that Steven didn’t sing on this one. It could have been much better. The same goes for the song “Something”. I love the bluesy music on this song, but Joe’s voice just doesn’t do it for me.
The album closes with another sappy ballad “The Last Goodbye”. I think the album, could have been better served by ending with another rocker. It doesn’t and it ends on a weak note in my opinion.
The special edition from Music From Another Dimension includes three bonus tracks, “Up On The Mountain” (sung by Tom Hamilton), “Oasis In The Night” (Sung by Joe Perry) and “Sunny Side of Love” (Sung By Steven Tyler). “Sunny Side of Love” is the best song out of the three. It is a little more pop than rock, but it is still better than a few of the songs that made it on the main track listing of Music From Another Dimension.
Am I being too critical of Aerosmith? Perhaps! I just don’t believe the music from Music From Another Dimension is as good as past Aerosmith releases, and that is disappointing. This is the type of CD that I probably won’t reach for in my collection very often, but won’t turn it off if I hear it on the radio either.

Frontiers Records is excited to announce the release of CRASHDIET’s anticipated new studio album “The Savage Playground” on January 25th in Europe (excl. Scandinavia) and January 22nd in North America.
A leading force in the Swedish “sleaze rock” scene of the 2000s — a revival of the glam metal of the 1980s, but with a more pronounced punk element — CRASHDÏET for the first time manage to release their brand of down and dirty Rock and Roll simultaneously all over the world.
In April of 2010 the band’s third album “Generation Wild” pretty much summed up the extraordinary but yet tragic history of a band, determined to never give up their dream. CRASHDÏET has become known as a band with a huge following of diehard fans, and the massive interest for them never seems to fade.
There has been extensive touring during the course of “Generation Wild” and the absolute highlight saw the band conquer Hollywood and New York City with sold out shows at Whisky A Go Go and Webster Hall. The band also supported their heroes Motley Crue and Ozzy Osbourne. “Supporting Motley Crue in Helsinki and headlining Whisky A Go Go have been the highlights of the Generation Wild tour”, says guitarist Martin Sweet.
With the new studio album “The Savage Playground”, recorded during summer/autumn 2012 in native Sweden, the band has their minds set to break through on a world-wide basis with a tour that will see the band going back to the US as well as going to Japan for the first time. “We will put a lot of effort into the US for our new tour. We will start in Scandinavia in February, Then we head to the US & Canada. Coming back end of April to do UK and then Europe and Japan will follow with Festivals in the summer and then South-America to kick off in the autumn” continues Sweet.
The new album sees CRASHDÏET going in a heavier and more live direction musicwise. “THE SAVAGE PLAYGROUND is our playground, its the beginning and the end, its the place where we eat and breed”, tells Martin Sweet. “We thought the time was right for us to do a edgier and not so polished sounding album, kinda like what we sound like live. It’s more organic and rough sounding. And of course we’re always evolving as musicians and like to try new ways of expressing ourselves, and that can most definitely be heard this album”.
Anticipated by the release of the cracking first single “Cocaine Cowboys” on December 12th, “The Savage Playground” will include the following tracks: Change The World; Cocaine Cowboys; Anarchy; California; Lickin’ Dog; Circus; Sin City; Got A Reason; Drinkin’ Without You; Snakes In Paradise; Damaged Kid; Excited; Garden Of Babylon.
Martin Sweet – guitar
Peter London – bass
Eric Young – drums
Simon Cruz – vocals

Armoury Records, in conjunction with Hamburg, Germany-based earMUSIC, will release the sixth studio album from American metallers CIRCLE II CIRCLE this Winter. Led by former Savatage vocalist Zak Stevens, the 12-track Seasons Will Fall promises to be the band’s strongest album to date both musically and sonically blending Stevens’ history and unique “Savatage style” with the fresh sounds he’s meticulously developed with CIIC — a commanding fusion of metal and hard rock, powered by his passionate melodic rock vocals. From the howling guitar riffs of “Diamond Blade” and “Killing Death” to the energetic sound of “Never Gonna Stop,” the album contains everything you want from a heavy rock album.
earMUSIC/Edel and Zak Stevens have enjoyed critical acclaim and commercial success together over the years with Savatage’s Dead Winter Dead (1995) and The Wake of Magellan (1997), true milestones of hard rock/heavy metal and some of the highest charting metal success stories of the ‘90s.
Comments Stevens of the new label home and forthcoming full-length:“With earMUSIC releasing our sixth album, we are exactly where we need to be at this point in our career. We have the right album along with a fantastic new label. The timing of all this will take the upcoming world tour to an entirely new level. We are very much looking forward to the release of Seasons Will Fall. This is an album that will strongly define the identity and place of hard rock and heavy metal music in the world today.”
Formed in 2001, CIRCLE II CIRCLE has released five albums to date consistently progressing into something more powerful with each offering without sacrificing the signature sound fans around the globe have grown to adore. The turning point for CIIC came in 2012 with their monumental performance of The Wake of Magellan in its entirety at Germany’s legendary Wacken Open Air Festival. What followed was a sold-out European club tour with full European jaunt set to follow in 2013.
Seasons Will Fall will be released in North America via Armoury Records on January 29, 2013.

In support of the recently-released 11th studio album (BROKEN BONES) from melodic hard rockers Dokken, Dokken frontman and namesake, Don Dokken and vocalist Mark Boals (Yngwie Malmsteen, Doug Aldrich, Uli Jon Roth, Vinny Appice), will be setting out on a very special acoustic tour hitting select markets in December. They will play at the Whisky A Go Go on Friday, December 14th.
Dokken’s latest release, BROKEN BONES, was produced by Don Dokken, mixed by Bob St. John (Extreme, Duran Duran, Collective Soul) and Wyn Davis (Black Sabbath, Dio, Whitesnake) and mastered by famed engineer Maor Appelbaum (Halford, Yngwie Malmsteen, Sepultura). The new set features a return to the band’s signature sound of catchy melodies, hot riffs and monster production. Of BROKEN BONES, Vintage Guitar declared, “Dokken is still going strong with their 11th studio album…the album is truly ‘Rockin’ Like Dokken!'” You can check out the video for first single, “Empire” here.
Dokken exploded out of the hotbed that was the hard rock and heavy metal scene in Los Angeles in the early ’80s. Such classic albums as TOOTH AND NAIL, UNDER LOCK AND KEY and BACK FOR THE ATTACK were all certified multi-platinum, with songs like “Alone Again,” “Just Got Lucky,” “Into the Fire,” “It’s Not Love” and “Dream Warriors” still being regarded as amongst the genre’s finest. Dokken was one of the first groups to sell a million copies of their DVD “Unchain The Night.” The group continues to tour the world extensively and has shared the stage with AC/DC, Metallica, Aerosmith, Judas Priest, Van Halen, Kiss, Scorpions, Bon Jovi and many more. To date, the band has sold upwards of 10 million albums worldwide. The group has been nominated for a Grammy as well as an American Music Award. In 1988, Don was awarded the keys to the city of Los Angeles by Mayor Tom Bradley declaring January 27th as “Dokken Day” for his charity contributions to the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital. Dokken is: Don Dokken (vocals), Mick Brown (drums), Jon Levin (guitar) and Sean McNabb (bass).
The big secret that fans had been speculating about in a number of Internet forums was released last week: GIANT X is the spectacular new band founded by Running Wild`s Rolf Kasparek and Peter J. Jordan.
GIANT X‘s debut album I will be out on Steamhammer/SPV as a super jewel case and download on January 18th in Germany, January 21st in Europe and January 22nd in USA/Canada and is set to delight particularly fans of traditional hard rock.

Another Thanksgiving is upon us. Thanksgiving is undisputedly my favorite holiday. It’s better than Christmas, because we get to enjoy the company of family and friends, yet not have to worry about giving gifts to anyone. It’s better than birthdays, because it is a holiday that is shared with everyone. It’s better than Easter, because there is just a great sense of family bond and tradition. As far as I am concerned, Thanksgiving is the greatest day of the year.
Welcome to this special edition of Vie’s Verses. Normally I use this column to vent my frustrations about high ticket prices, debate 5 bands or songs or tours that are great (or not great), or talk about upcoming albums and concerts that I want to see or hear. Yet, this edition of Vie’s Verses isn’t going to cover the normal column topics. This edition of Vie’s Verses is all about what I am thankful for.
First and foremost, I am thankful for Hard Rock Hideout’s owner and editor, Rob Rockitt. Not only has he become one of my best friends since I started writing for this site, but he has also afforded me the opportunity to put out a bi-weekly column on pretty much any topic of conversation that I want to discuss. No other editor in America would be crazy enough to do that! I appreciate that Rob lets me write this column every other week and continues to publish it. It is a true blessing to write for Hard Rock Hideout and I am grateful that I am allowed to be part of such a wonderful, dedicated, hard rock
I am also thankful for the fans—both fans of Vie’s Verses (yes, they actually exist) and fans of Hard Rock Hideout. Let’s be honest, without fans, writing this column would be fun, but pretty much worthless. If no one reads and comments about the column, it might as well be a diary. Yet, the fans of Hard Rock Hideout are always willing to voice their opinions, whether they agree with the material in the column or not. And that is something I love the most about Hard Rock Hideout fans, they speak their minds and they do it respectfully. I love fans like Kent and Bob and Frankenfurter that are always posting comments, telling me their thoughts (whether they agree or disagree) and recommending music and books about rock and roll that I should be checking out. It’s nice to see that people read this column and actually care enough to leave a comment. Nothing makes me feel more wonderful.
I am also thankful for the rock band Kiss (shameless plug for my favorite band here). The fact that all four original members are still alive and active in the world of rock music is amazing and enjoyable. And with the new incarnation of Kiss producing records that are worth buying and listening to multiple times, I couldn’t be happier. Kiss has been a big part of my life since I was 7 years old (the first time I ever played Destroyer), and their music has gotten me through some rough spots in my life. The fact that I can still go out and see my favorite band live on tour is a blessing beyond belief. Hopefully next summer, I will be seeing them live once again.
There is nothing that means more to me than my family. My brothers, sisters, mother, grandfather, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and my dear devoted wife—I love them all with all of my heart. No one has been there more for me than my family, and there is no one that I would do more for in my life than my family. They have always been very supportive of my career choices, my hobbies, and the decisions that I have made on my journey of life. It means the world to me knowing that I could reach out to any one of them and they would be at my side in an instant. It means the world to me that my wife puts up with my long hours of working, writing, concert attendance, sports watching, video game playing, comic book reading habits, and never complains. She is a saint, and I am blessed to be married to such a wonderful woman. This thanksgiving, I am extremely thankful for the family that I have.
Last, But Not Least…
Lastly, I am thankful for everyone who read this post. Thanks for taking the time to read these words that I strung together for this special edition of Vie’s Verses. Be sure to come back in two weeks when I return to my regular writing of complaining about high ticket prices, speculating on tours for 2013, and covering all things hard rock. Until then, have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Have you ever yearned to hear hard rock music that hits you so hard, your fist is in the air by the second song? If so, then Sister Sin’s Now And Forever is a record that you must listen to. Filled with nothing but hard rocking, pulse pounding, kick ass, hard rock music Now And Forever is a gem of an album.
Sweden has become a hot bed for some great glam metal over the last few years, and Sister Sin is one more addition to that list of awesome. Their latest album, Now And Forever, is another fabulous ride through some ripping glam metal.
Sister Sin has been making hard rocking music since 2002, and making it well. For their fourth album, the tradition of great, glam metal continues. The first single and one of the best tracks from Now And Forever is “End Of The Line.” Showing off all of Sister Sin’s strengths, “End Of The Line” is the song that will have listeners falling in love with the band. Fantastic guitars with great solos, a heavy, steady drum beat, and excellent vocals from lead singer, Liv Jagrell, make “End Of The Line” one of the greatest rock songs that I’ve heard in a while.
The hard hits just keep on coming after that. “Fight Song” delivers the goods with hard hitting drums courtesy of Dave Sundberg, and some excellent guitar work via Jimmy Hitula. And anytime a song starts with a big loud “Fuck You!” from a vixen of a lead singer, well, you can consider me hooked. And the good news is that “Fight Song” has more than just a cool intro. It has balls that last throughout the entire track.
“In It For Life” picks up right where “Fight Song” left off. More loud, hard rocking guitars, devious drum beats, exceptional bass lines from Strandh, and being told to kiss Liv Jagrell’s ass in the first thirty
seconds. Sounds like something I’m going to jam out with for a long time. And with the incredible raw power that is captured on “In It For Life,” I’ll be hitting my repeat button quite a few times.
Every other song on the record follows this same pattern. That’s the greatest thing about Now And Forever — the raw power that it packs. After one listen to this disc if you aren’t rocking out harder than
ever before, well, you may not be a metal head. Sister Sin is the real deal and Now And Forever is their strongest effort yet. The guitar solos are well thought out and perfectly placed with some amazing finger
picking by Hitula. He is a great guitarist and if Sister Sin gets the recognition that they deserve, Hitula will be mentioned in the same paragraphs as some of the greats of our time. Add in the amazing ability of Liv
Jagrell to front the band and you’ve got a deadly combination waiting to explode.
If you haven’t checked out Sister Sin yet, this is the perfect album to get to know them. Now And Forever will leave you hooked and wanting to hear more. The great news about that is that there is plenty of
back catalog to pick up after you’ve worn out your copy of Now And Forever. You can pick up a copy of Now And Forever at this link!

When former Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler comes back from the dead, he means it. When Adler’s new CD hits the stores on 11/27, prepare to be BLOWN AWAY! Back From The Dead is packed with great songs, and some killer guest appearances from John 5, Slash and Jeff Pilson. I have been looking forward to Adler’s solo debut for quite some time, but I didn’t expect it to be THIS good.
I had high hopes for this album after hearing “The One That You Hated” a few months ago. Back From The Dead does not disappoint one bit!
Jeff Pilson produced the album with Adler, and also handles all of the bass work on the CD. When you have a rhythm section that is Steven Adler and Jeff Pilson, can you really do wrong?
Steven Adler scored big when he got Lynam’s Jacob Bunton to join his band. No only does Bunton handle the vocals for Adler, but is also the lead song writer. Bunton has written a bunch of quality songs, and delivers what could be the vocal performance of his career.
The opening song “Back From The Dead” almost has a Cinderella like opening, but once this song kicks into gear, it is a take no prisoners, head-banging tune.
“Own Worst Enemy”, “Another Version of The Truth” and “The One That You Hated” are three more killer tracks stacked up back to back.
I was excited to learn that John 5 is one of the guest guitarists on Back From The Dead. If you are familiar with John 5, then you will recognize his playing on “Good To Be Bad”. His guitar work is amazing on this song!
I figured that “Just Don’t Ask featuring Slash would be a real ripping track, and I was very wrong about that one. This is a slower track, but Slash’s fretwork shines. This is a great song!
“Blown Away” is a real rocker that ought to be a radio single for Adler. This song is going to take the world by storm.
“Your Diamonds” has a 70’s classic rock feel, while the album closer “Dead Wrong” has a more of a modern feel to it.
Back From The Dead is easily one of the biggest surprises, and strongest albums of 2012. I love this album, and I think you will too! Don’t miss this!

German guitar legend ULI JON ROTH will be returning to North America for a special tour commemorating his 40th anniversary of joining THE SCORPIONS.
ULI plans on celebrating this anniversary with a one of a kind show that features an entire set of SCORPIONS material as well as selections from his extensive solo catalog. Every show on the tour will be recorded for a live album documenting this amazing milestone in ULI‘s career.
The tour is currently scheduled to kick off January 25th in Los Angeles, CA and runs through March 3rd in Los Angeles. More dates will be added in the coming days. Stay tuned to http://www.ulijonroth.com for the most up to date schedule.
ULI is looking forward to presenting this historical show to his North American fans:
“Celebrating my 40th anniversary of joining the band, we will play a full set of SCORPIONS songs alongside my more recent material. We will feature several songs from each of the albums that I played on, including some, which have not been played live before. I’m really looking forward to it. Hope to see you there!”
Because of his ground-breaking, highly innovative and distinctive trademark guitar work, ULI is widely regarded as being one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
As one of the main founding members of THE SCORPIONS, ULI wrote much of the material for the bands – by now legendary – first five albums, which include the hugely successful live album “Tokyo Tapes”. These early SCORPIONS years with ULI, Klaus and Rudolf as the nucleus, were absolutely essential in shaping what is now considered the classic SCORPIONS sound.
ULI is regarded as a significant influence by many notable guitar players, including, but not limited to Slash, Eddie Van Halen Joe Satriani, Kirk Hammett, Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen. Having collaborated and shared the stage with the likes of The Smashing Pumpkins, Deep Purple, Brian May, Jack Bruce, UFO, and many others, ULI continues to inspire and pave the way for musicians and fans alike.
After his departure from THE SCORPIONS, ULI JON ROTH embarked on a successful career as a solo artist, producing highly influential albums with his band Electric Sun, as well as performing classical concertos with orchestras.
ULI also invented his own instrument the legendary 6-octave Sky Guitar, which is currently on the market as a limited Edition signature model.
In addition to his 40th Anniversary shows, ULI will also be offering his world renowned Sky Academy Seminars while he is on the road in North America. These introductory seminars are not just aimed at guitarists, but fans and even non-musicians may well find plenty to gain from Uli’s unique way of talking about some of the deeper mysteries of music. For some people Sky Academy has even been a life-changing experience, because ULI‘s teaching can open up completely new ways of experiencing music.
The aim of Sky Academy is to provide knowledge and inspiration to those who take guitar playing seriously and to help them reach a new plateau. The seminars are designed to open musicians’ eyes to new possibilities and to trigger an awakening of the student’s full potential and talent. Special emphasis is given to inspirational concepts rather than just technical means. Sky Academy is designed to teach particularly those things which are not normally touched upon in music teaching, but which provide a true gateway to mastery.
Tickets for the introductory seminars are available through the individual venues and can also be purchased at http://www.sky-academy-registration.com/.

UK hard rockers Heaven’s Basement are proud to reveal the cover art and track listing for their debut album FILTHY EMPIRE. The album has now been confirmed for a February 5th, 2013 North American street date via Red Bull Records. Filthy Empire is produced by John Feldmann (The Used, Papa Roach, Black Veil Brides) and is the follow-up to the band’s independently-released, acclaimed EP, Unbreakable. The video for the first single from the forthcoming album, “Fire, Fire,” directed by Michael Maxxis (Ours, Sum 41, and Our Lady Peace), is streaming now on YouTube.
Originally formed in the East Midlands in England, Heaven’s Basement have already toured with the likes of Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Theory Of A Deadman, Shinedown, and more, and played this year’s Download Festival in the UK to a packed tent of more than 5,000 fans. Kerrang declared earlier this year, “Heaven’s Basement play as if their lives depend on it. They should already be a big name – bristling riffs and jagged, riotous hooks are their poison and exceptional is not too strong a word.”

6. The Long Goodbye

The latest episode of the RagingMetal show is now available for streaming and download. This week’s episode features new music from Doro, T&N, Firewind and the feature band KISS. Check it out!
Teen rock sensation Cherri Bomb has released a new video “Too Many Faces”. The video clip was shot in Los Angeles and directed by Lisa Mann (Apocalyptica, The Used).
“Too Many Faces” is the first single from Cherri Bomb’s full-length debut album, THIS IS THE END OF CONTROL, the disc Revolver Magazine called “a defiant blast of teenage rebellion that suggests a cross between Halestorm and the Foo Fighters.”
Though the girls’ ages range from 14 to 16, their album is the product of years of work. It begins with guitarist/vocalist Julia Pierce, who found her musical calling when she was very young. Her talent was undeniable, and her commitment was so unwavering that her parents were persuaded to uproot the family and move from New Jersey to Los Angeles – where they believed that she would have more opportunities to pursue her music. “When I got an electric guitar,” she says, “I realized that I wanted and needed to start my own band. I posted ads online and in local music shops around LA, looking for girl musicians my own age who were as passionate about music as I was. At the time it was hard to find girls my age who could even play instruments.”
Once the lineup was solidified (Nia Lovelis on drums, Miranda Miller on guitar and keys, Rena Lovelis on bass), the quartet hit the ground running. Over the course of the past two years, Cherri Bomb opened for a Foo Fighters’ arena show in Germany, performed at all the major European festivals, including Reading, Leeds, Rock En Seine, Oxegen, Highfields and Lowlands, and tore up Australia’s Soundwave festival. They’ve also shared stages with Bush, Staind, Lostprophets, Buckcherry and performed on this year’s Warped Tour. The all-girl rock band from Los Angeles not only held their own, but they won new believers at every stop.
Debut album THIS IS THE END OF CONTROL was released earlier this year. The album includes notable tracks such as “Raw. Real,” “Let It Go,” and “Shake the Ground,” which was also featured on Marvel’s AVENGERS ASSEMBLE movie-inspired soundtrack.
Century Media Records is proud to announce the signing of the BUTCHER BABIES to their worldwide family of artists. Hailing from Los Angeles, the BUTCHER BABIES have emerged as one of the biggest draws on the Sunset Strip, their incendiary blend of heavy metal and horror-inspired theatrics inciting crowds worldwide.
Fronted by Carla Harvey and Heidi Shepherd – named two of the year’s ‘Hottest Women In Rock’ by Revolver Magazine – the blood-splattered band left their mark on the United Kingdom in June, appearing on the Download festival and supporting Anthrax in Cardiff. They returned to America as direct support for Otep in fall, and are wrapping up their first headlining tour tonight in front of a hometown crowd at the Roxy on the Sunset Strip. The band – vocalists Harvey and Shepherd, guitarist Henry Flury, bassist Jason Klein and drummer Chris Warner – will be performing with labelmates In This Moment tomorrow night in Las Vegas.
“Century Media has been a huge supporter of BUTCHER BABIES for a long time, and it feels natural to join their tight knit family,” said the band of their signing. “It’s an honor for us to be on a roster amongst many other bands that have inspired us for so long. We couldn’t be more excited about the future of this union.”
The Butcher Babies’ track “Axe Wound” is currently in rotation on Sirius XM Liquid Metal, and their short movie/video fo the track “Mr. Slowdeath” can be watched here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YttVe6v31Yk.
The band are currently at work on their full-length debut, which is slated for worldwide release in summer 2013 via Century Media Records.
