Paul Raymond, songwriter, keyboardist and rhythm guitarist of legendary cult hard rock outfit UFO has inked a deal with Cherry Red Records’ new hard rock imprint label Hear No Evil for his new solo album with The Paul Raymond Project.
The new album, entitled “Terms & Conditions Apply” is set for a worldwide release on January 28, 2013. It will mark the sixth release by the group and features a guest appearance from Michael Schenker (MSG, UFO, Scorpions) on a cover of ‘Reach Out (I’ll Be There)’ and by Reuben Archer (Stampede, Wild Horses, Lionheart, Lautrec) on ‘Love Is Blind’.
Paul Raymond is set to play some select regional solo UK shows to promote “Terms & Conditions Apply” in the New Year, including a special headline launch show at London’s Borderline venue on Friday 1st February, before resuming his duties touring with UFO. The shows will feature Stampede vocalist Reuben Archer amongst other special guests and will showcase the new material as well as UFO classics. Regional dates are yet TBA.
Paul Raymond is primarily best known for his work in UFO, having joined the band’s ranks in 1976. Beginning with “Lights Out” in 1977, to date Paul has appeared on 11 UFO albums, including the incendiary double live “Strangers In the Night”. In a varied career, he’s also been a key member in a number of acts, including 70s legends Savoy Brown, Chicken Shack, Michael Schenker Group and Waysted.
The Paul Raymond Project (PRP) was first formed in 1989 in Japan featuring original lineup of Frank Di Mino (formerly of Angel) on lead vocals and Masoyoshi Yamashitu (Loudness) on bass. Paul spent 1990 writing new material, inspired by the resurgence of straight-ahead blues/rock led by bands such as the Black Crowes and the Quireboys, until, joined by guitarist Andy Simmons, the third incarnation of the project released “Man on a Mission” through Zoom Club records. It was to be nine years before Paul and Andy joined forces again and recorded “Virtual Insanity” as UFO had once again intervened. In 2010, together with bass player Mark Coles and drummer Tony Steel, they began working on “Terms & Conditions Apply”.
Tickets for the London show at The Borderline on Feb 1st are available here:

Now in its seventh year, ROTR will again take place at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, OH and be marked by a spectacular lineup of rock heavyweights. With the addition of some notable headliners on Friday, festival organizers are also working on a series of additional enhancements for ROTR 2013. Improvements, added amenities and updates will be announced in early 2013 with the festival’s line-up.
“We are constantly working to improve upon the success of Rock On The Range,” says Gary Spivack, co-executive producer of the multi-stage music and lifestyle event for Right Arm Entertainment. “For one, we’ll have more ticket buying options than ever before and incentives for the ‘Rangers’ to buy early. Also, no longer will the Friday night be solely a ‘pre-party;’ it will be incorporated into the full weekend truly making ROTR the biggest destination festival for rock ‘n roll in the United States.”

Presented by Right Arm Entertainment, AEG LIVE and Crew Stadium, ROCK ON THE RANGE is a multi-stage music and lifestyle event featuring a potent lineup of bands on three stages and is proud to be sponsored by Monster Energy and Jagermeister. The nationally renowned festival, centrally located in the heart of the country, has annually drawn weekend crowds in excess of 70,000 since its inception in 2007.
The Female Metal Valkyrie Veronica Freeman and her band Benedictum have been busy working during the past few months. A new Benedictum album is in the works and will be a complete return to a traditional but powerful feel – much like the band’s first 2 albums. Working with the band on the production is Grammy Award Nominee and Billboard charting producer, John Herrera and of course Jeff Pilson (Dokken, Foreigner). Jeff has already had one writing session with Benedictum and Veronica has just returned from her second writing session with Jeff Pilson this past week. Craig Goldy (Dio) has been writing with Benedictum as well and there will probably be some vocal duet surprises on the album too. The songwriting team of Pete Wells and Veronica Freeman is however still in full effect and with Rikard Stjernquist (Jag Panzer) adding to the mix there are some powerful great ideas coming to life.
But Veronica is also working to show another side of herself. In Veronica’s words: “I had a lot of input and encouragement from Frontiers in the previous months to try and stretch myself with different musical styles and approaches. So I have decided to accept their proposal for a solo album – which will be released under the moniker of” THE V“. Musically Veronica will be pursuing a much more melodic and hook-friendly direction. John Herrera will also produce this endeavor and there should be some special guests appearing in the writing and performing dept including a song from Jerry Dixon from Warrant and some bass performances from Brad Lang from Y&T as well as from Jeff Pilson and others to round out the talent that will be involved with this project. Pete Wells will also show his other side with some of the music he is contributing to this project.
Both new albums will be released in 2013 – Benedictum are really looking forward to also being able to perform in Europe in 2013 so lookout for Veronica’s talents both in Benedictum and with the V sometime soon! We all really hope you will enjoy all the music that is coming your way!

Soulful, maximum-blues-infused hard rock band RIVAL SONS’ new album HEAD DOWN is out now on Earache Records and has garnered the band both critical acclaim (including a four-out-of-five star review from The Guardian/U.K.) and a “Breakthrough Artist” award at this week’s Classic Rock Awards show in London.Coming offof a five-week U.K./European headlining tour (having already played to massive crowds in Europe at festivals such as Rock Am Ring and Download, and opening for Guns N’ Roses), RIVAL SONS look to 2013 to showcase the record here in the U.S. with North American tour dates to be announced soon and the physical album hitting stores January 22, 2013.
With their blues bravado, raw riffing and unmatched mystique, the Long Beach, CA quartet evoke the rock of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin. Formed in 2008, the quartet of Scott Holiday (guitar), Robin Everhart (bass), Mike Miley (drums), and Jay Buchanan (vocals) captures that massively huge, guitar-driven classic rock sound, with rock-solid drumming and a riff-oriented approach to songwriting backing up Buchanan’s soaring vocals. The band wrote, recorded, and mixed HEAD DOWN in just 20 days, and the band conjured the same energy that made their last album a fan and critical favorite, while treading new territory altogether. The rawness and immediacy–textured with a myriad of light and shade–produce powerful results. Explains Buchanan: “In the code of the Samurai, any decision must be made between 3 and 5 breaths…Writing by that code forces us to act, go with our instincts and really, truly listen to each other. Creatively, you’re bringing your most immediate instincts.” The video for the first single “Keep On Swinging” from HEAD DOWN can be seen here: www.vevo.com/watch/rival-sons/keep-on-swinging/GBA631200133
Swiss power rockers SHAKRA will release their new album „Powerplay“ on January 11th.

Helsinki vampire rock outfit, The 69 Eyes, has posted its latest music video for the song, “Borderline,” on YouTube. Check out the video, shot in New Orleans, La. with acclaimed producer, Patric Ullaeus.
The video starts with a scene in which the local vampire tour legend Lord Chaz draws five X’s on the crypt door of the Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau’s resting place in Saint Louis Cemetery #1. “Easy Rider’s” famous psychedelic scene was also filmed there.
Commented lead vampire Jyrki9, “It’s like our ‘Love Me Tender’ – a soft, timeless ballad. But it also has that dark, mystic Southern vibe (some said ‘True Blood’), so naturally we had to go to Louisiana to shoot the video! Mark Twain’s books, Elvis, ‘King Creole,’ ‘Easy Rider,’ blues, jazz, voodoo, vampires – so many reasons for The 69 Eyes go to N’awlins. We’ve played there twice; I’ve hosted two DJ club nights there called “Fangtasia” over the last two summers. The leading rock/metal video director of these latter days, Swedish Patric Ullaeus was also interested in coming to NOLA to make this masterpiece, so all was set for it! The mid-October was perfect for a long-lost weekend in the South.”
“Borderline” appears on the band’s 10th studio album, X, which hit stores last month via Nuclear Blast Records.
Fans can order the new album online via iTunes at: http://bit.ly/69xitun, complete with the bonus track “Rosary Blue” featuring Kat Von D, the “Red” music video plus digital booklet. Physical copies of X can be ordered via the Nuclear Blast web-store at: http://bit.ly/69eyesxlp.

Australian rock band TRACER won “Best New Band” at last night’s 2012 Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards, held at the London Roundhouse on Tuesday November 13th beating out the Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Monster Truck, and Ghost amongst others. Lead singer Michael Brown was flown in from Adelaide, Australia to accept the award on behalf of the band. He comments: “I’m absolutely stoked about winning the Classic Rock Award for Best New Band! It still blows my mind that we are creating and playing music we love and people are responding to it and we’re getting awards for it!!”
The band will start recording their second album with producer Kevin Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Silverchair, Cold Chisel), at his studio in Malibu, California later this month. The album will be released by Mascot Records in March 2013. Immediately following release, the band will tour the U.K., launching the excursion at Scala in London the 9th of April.
In 2011, Tracer came to prominence in the U.K. when they released their debut album Spaces In Between which spawned three radio singles on Planet Rock, including the song “Too Much.” Tracer is Michael Brown (guitar, vocals), Andre Wise (drums), and Pat Saracino (bass). They’ve received praise from UK rock magazines including Classic Rock (New Band of the Month), Total Guitar, Metal Hammer, and Guitarist, while the video for “Too Much” has amassed 100,000 YouTube views. SLASH and his bandmates Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators—Myles Kennedy (vocals), Brent Fitz (drums), Todd Kerns (bass) and Frank Sidoris (guitar)–are riding a wave of critical acclaim with a four-star review in Revolver magazine noting: “Apocalyptic Love is at heart a collection of lean, high-octane rock-and-roll tunes built to be blasted out of open-top sports cars or, more suitably, open-air stadiums” (July 2012). Elsewhere, the Los Angeles Times said: “Fans of his work in GNR and Velvet Revolver will find much to embrace in the album’s 13 tracks, ranging from the sneering rock hooks of ‘You’re a Lie’ and the heavy metal grind of ‘Halo’ to the extended instrumental passages on ‘Anastasia’” (May 24, 2012) Slash’s full bio and press releases or to download a photo, go to: http://www.msopr.com/n/client-roster/slash.

British Hard Rock legends UFO will be kicking off their North American West Coast tour this Thursday November 15th in Chicago, IL. The band is touring in support of their latest album Seven Deadly which was released earlier this year via Steamhammer/SPV. A complete list of dates can be found below.
Guitarist Vinnie Moore commented on the upcoming tour:
“It’s been quite a while since we’ve toured in the USA and I’m really looking forward to it. We have not played here since the new record came out and it’s going to be exciting to play some of the new tunes. And it is always great to see our awesome fans!”
Seven Deadly is an atmospherically dense fabric consisting of classy guitars, tight rock grooves and vocals which are unique to UFO. Ultimate-Guitar says of Seven Deadly: “UFO has re-entered back through Earth’s atmosphere to bring the world another excellent, classic sounding album and it is one you must pick up.”
UFO frontman Phil Mogg’s thoroughly impressive vocal performance goes hand in hand with the awesome compositions on Seven Deadly. The classic rock of “Burn Your House Down” features all the important UFO strengths, “Mojotown” sees the musicians sound tougher than ever, and last but not least “Year Of The Gun” features a pointed reference to UFO‘s early days.

What can you expect on T&N’s new CD Slave To the Empire? How about five cool versions of Dokken songs, and some killer new stuff as well?! Slave to The Empire has
plenty of guest stars (Doug Pinnick, Robert Mason, Sebastian Bach, Tim “Ripper” Owens), and each one of these singers do an outstanding job on the Dokken songs they sing.
The new T&N songs are pretty good too.
I always new Jeff Pilson was a great back up singer to Don Dokken, but after listening to “Into the Fire”, it is clear to me that Jeff Pilson’s voice is superior to Don’s. I like the
extended version of the song on this CD. It is a great update to a Dokken classic. In fact, Pilson’s voice shines on all of the songs that he sings on this album. Give the song “Rhythm of the Soul” a listen and you will understand just how big Mr. Pilson’s voice.
The Dokken song that I was concerned about the most on this album, was “Tooth & Nail”. I wasn’t sure how Doug Pinnick’s voice would translate on this song. Pinnick added a little more soul, but also a lot more power to this song. I love this version!
Warrant singer Robert Mason does a trenmdous job on “It’s Not Love”. I am sure he sang this one a few times during his tenure with Lynch Mob, and it shows, as this version is excellent!
I never thought I would like Sebastian Bach singing a Dokken tune, but I love his voice on “Alone Again”. His vibrato and voice are quite different from Don Dokken. While this version is similar to the original, I think I prefer this version. I like this so much that I would love to see Sebastian perform this song live.
“Mind Control” is my favorite out of all of the new T&N songs. This song really rocks. “Kiss of Death” on the other hand is my least favorite out of the Dokken tunes. Tim “Ripper” Owens does a good job on the song, but I still prefer the original “Kiss of Death” version to this one.
George Lynch takes a more bluesy approach to his playing on “Jesus Train”, and it really works on this song. I am not used to hearing George play like this, and I love his sound on this song.
“Access Denied” is a heavy tune that sounds as if it could have been left over from the George Lynch Kill All Control sessions.
This is not a filler tune by any means. George Lynch plays his ass off.
Overall, Slave to the Empire is a very enjoyable album. Half of it does play like a Dokken cover album, but quite frankly some of the versions on this album are superior to the original songs. They give the album a nice flow.
The new songs show off the crazy talent of George Lynch, Jeff Pilson Mick Brown and Brian Tichy (who handles the drumming on the new T&N tracks). If you are a fan of Dokken, you NEED to pick this up!
You can pick up Slave to the Empire here!

Legendary multi-platinum selling Canadian vocalist, Juno Award winner and “Canadian Idol” judge SASS JORDAN, has teamed up with songwriter and multi-instrumentalist BRIAN TICHY, known for his tours of duty with Billy Idol, Foreigner, Ozzy and currently Whitesnake, to record an album of anthemic rock songs, under the band name S.U.N. Previously working together is what drove JORDAN and TICHY to collaborate on new music.
“I had played drums on Sass’ RATS record” explains TICHY. “I knew she was one of the best rock singers out there. So after many years, we reconnected and tried a bit of writing together.”
Both felt that in order to write the best, trend-free music they could, they needed to get away so they hunkered down for two weeks to write. “We didn’t realize where we were going when we started out,” says JORDAN. “As we continued the songwriting path from the quintessential rock tunes ‘Burned’ to ‘Mobile Again’ to ‘Nomad’ and on … The whole thing started to take shape in the form of a 70’s odyssey, a time travel trajectory.”
Completing the all-star ensemble is bassist MICHAEL DEVIN (Whitesnake, Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience, Kenny Wayne Shepherd) and drummer TOMMY STEWART (Godsmack, Lo Pro, Everclear, Fuel).
JORDAN has an innate talent capable of conveying powerful emotion through heart-stomping, primal, rock-and-roll singing. S.U.N’s debut album, self-produced by JORDAN and TICHY and recorded in Canyon Country, CA, is explosive, crushing, real and soulful with its natural fusion of blues and rock. JORDAN’s vocal intensity proves a perfect match for the high-energy guitar playing of TICHY and her bandmates which provide the unique music palette that is S.U.N.

Ahhh, fall is here. The cold weather has settled in. The days are much shorter and that means there is plenty of time for reading. When I am not listening to music, or seeing bands in concert, one of my favorite pastimes is to read a biography (or auto-biography) about bands or musicians that I love. There’s nothing better than learning interesting tidbits about your favorite singer or guitarist. However, not all biographies are created equal. While there are some fantastic writings on musicians, there is also a lot of crap that has to be waded through. So, I’ve decided to share with you my five favorite hard rock biographies—I’ve done the wading for you, all you need to do is read and enjoy.
A lot of books have written about Kurt Cobain and Nirvana, and a lot more will be written in the years to come. However, there is no book that better details the life and tragic death of Nirvana’s front man than Heavier Than Heaven, by Charles Cross. Kurt Cobain lived fast and hard, and because of that, his life was short. Yet, to this day the small amount of music that he and two other men made is still beloved and cherished. His story is a sad one, a tale of an often lonely man who never quite understood himself. Being a heroin addict only exacerbated the situation. Charles Cross captures all of these painstaking details with great beauty and insight, making Heavier Than Heaven one of the greatest rock star biographies ever written.
If you’ve ever wanted to read the tale of a drug addict/rock star told with no punches held back, Scar Tissue is the book to pick up. Written in 2004, Anthony Kiedis, of Red Hot Chili Peppers fame, paints a poignant, telling tale of tragedy and triumph. Kiedis tells it like it was and like it is. He details the daily struggles of heroin addiction and walks through what life is like when struggling to stay clean, when completely messed up and immersed in drug addiction, and when drugs are the furthest thing from your existence. These are three completely different scenarios which lead to three completely different actions. And while Scar Tissue is another sad tale of the adventures in drug abuse, it at least, for now, has a happy ending. The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Anthony Kiedis are still going strong.
Stephen Davis is one of the greatest rock biographers to ever grace the written page and he is also a writer that I look up to. Having written many great biographies on the lives of multiple musicians, Stephen Davis is revered in the rock and roll community. For Walk This Way he teamed up with Aerosmith to tell the story from their own mouths, which was a smart and satisfying way to write their biography. Written in 1997, Walk This Way covers the history of Aerosmith up to and including the release and subsequent tour of Nine Lives. Walk This Way is a story that is not only told by the members of Aerosmith, but also by a lot of people the band interacted with over the years. From former managers, to disc jockeys, to promoters and former band members, Walk This Way allows everyone to say a little of their piece, while allowing the five main members to be the driving voice behind the story. Brilliant writing and a great story that makes me yearn for a sequel.
Yes, Stephen Davis makes the list twice. No, it’s not because I am a huge fan, it’s because Old Gods Almost Dead is the definitive biography of the Rolling Stones, and a must read for any music fan. Even if you never heard of The Rolling Stones, you will love this book. Davis’ ability to create a phenomenal narrative story of how “The World’s Greatest Rock And Roll Band” came to be is astonishing. Old Gods Almost Dead reads like a novel and tells the true story of The Rolling Stones. Nothing is left out. All of the details, good, bad, and ugly, are contained within the pages of Old Gods Almost Dead. It’s amazing how much the Rolling Stones have been through. The death of Brian Jones, Keith Richards’ drug problem, Mick Jaggar’s sex addictions… the list goes on and on. Now that they are all in their seventies, we forget that they were once a young, lecherous, wild, out of control band that happened to survive long enough to become senior citizens. Old Gods Almost Dead is the perfect reminder. If it wasn’t for a book that a little sleaze rock band from California wrote, Old Gods Almost Dead would be the greatest rock and roll biography ever written.
Perhaps the greatest rock biography ever written, Motley Crue’s The Dirt captures all the raw, raunchy, out of control debauchery that made the bands career infamous. While their music was solid, interesting, and fun, it was the after parties and their extracurricular activities that made them stars. Motley Crue holds no story back in The Dirt. What I like best about the book is the multiple author angle. Not only do the four current members of Motley Crue write their piece, but former lead singer John Corabi gets a say, manager Doc McGhee gets to tell his side of the story as well as producers and other people involved with the tale. This unique, multi-voice approach only helped make The Dirt that much better, because we get to read everyone’s version of what happened. Of all the music biographies that I’ve read (and it has been quite a lot), The Dirt is still the most fascinating of them all and the must read rock and roll story of all time.
So, if you’re looking for something to read this winter, or you have some friends that you want to get a gift for, but can’t figure out what to get them, I recommend he books above. What about you? What’s the greatest rock and roll biography you’ve ever read? Maybe there’s something that I need to add to my list.

Hard rockers The Last Vegas have just been tapped to support Guns N’ Roses for their two shows at The Joint At Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, NV later this week. The band has previously been direct support for Guns N’ Roses earlier this year in Atlantic City, Philadelphia and Atlanta. The Last Vegas will then head north for a tour of Canada in support of their latest release BAD DECISIONS. Please see below for tour dates.
BAD DECISIONS was released in late August via FrostByte Media and was produced by Johnny K (Megadeth, Disturbed, 3 Doors Down, Airbourne). The album was recorded in the band’s hometown of Chicago and contains the straight-up rock n’ roll meets garage/punk rock sound for which the band has come to be known. Of BAD DECISIONS Brave Words avowed, “…a retro-rock vibe with adrenaline-charged riffs and catchy melodies and sweetly-layered vocal harmonies…TLV create a rocking, feel-good-time…” Check out the sexy video for first single “Evil Eyes” here.
Hailing from Chicago and formed in 2005, The Last Vegas cut their teeth relentlessly playing in support of two independent releases. In 2009, the band burst on to the national scene when Motley’s Crue’s Nikki Sixx saw them play live in Los Angeles and subsequently co-produced their third album, WHATEVER GETS YOU OFF. More touring followed, including a stint opening Motley Crue’s “Saints Of Los Angeles” tour. The Onion referred to their sound as “Swaggering, stomping, balls-out guitar rock”, while The Chicago Sun-Times declared them to be “Red hot garage-rockers.” The Last Vegas is: Chad Cherry (vocals), Adam Arling (guitars), Danny Smash (bass), Nate Arling (drums) and Johnny Wator (guitars).

BIG WRECK ANNOUNCE FEB 19 RELEASE FOR LONG-AWAITED NEW ALBUM ALBATROSS
BAND SIGNS WITH ZOE/ROUNDER RECORDS FOR FIRST NEW ALBUM IN 10 YEARS
ALBUM FEATURES THE NO. 1 ROCK RADIO HIT, “ALBATROSS”
Critically acclaimed rock band BIG WRECK have signed with Zoe/Rounder Records for the U.S. release of their long-awaited new album, ALBATROSS. The album is set for a February 19th release.
Co-produced by Big Wreck vocalist/guitarist Ian Thornley and Eric Ratz (Billy Talent, Cancer Bats) and executive-produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Rush, Alice In Chains), ALBATROSS was released in Canada earlier this year and debuted at No. 5 on SoundScan’s Top 200 Album Chart. The album’s early success was fueled by its blistering lead single/title track “Albatross,” which held the No. 1 spot on the Canadian rock radio charts for six weeks.
The album and single were also big winners at the recent CASBY Awards in Canada, earning “Favorite New Album” and “Favorite New Single” honors. CASBY winners are determined by fan voting via the website for popular Canadian rock station, 102.1 The Edge.
When we last saw Big Wreck, the band was touring in support of 2001’s sophomore album, The Pleasure and the Greed. Outside pressures and a major label machine whose parts were no longer in sync led to a band break-up one year later. It was a disappointing end for the group, who had formed in Boston after Thornley and guitarist Brian Doherty met as students at the Berklee College of Music. After several years of gigging around the area, the band signed a record deal and released debut album In Loving Memory Of… in 1997.
So what led to the reunion? The simple answer is the rekindled friendship between Thornley and Doherty, who hadn’t spoken in years. “I just missed him,” says Ian. “I called him just to hang out but of course knew the chemistry would be there.” Brian echoes the sentiment: “We got together and started doing the same things as when we first met, on both a personal and musical level. It seemed to make complete sense.”
Returning to that place where like-minded musicians communicate is to return to the wellspring of inspiration and creativity. With Big Wreck, that translates into an outpouring of rock music direct from the subconscious heart, and lives in the interplay of controlled horsepower and unbridled virtuosity. Big Wreck remains faithful to the Big Rock playbook but isn’t necessarily interested in the “so big it will eat your children” flavors of today. “I went for all the good stuff that’s missing on rock records these days,” says Ian in describing the recording process. “I wanted to avoid falling into the formulaic cookie-cutter trap. That’s not going to interest me so how can it interest the listener? I have to go with my gut, which means longer songs, intros and bridges which explore strange territories, more room for breathing and a different dynamic range or sonic palette altogether.” While contemplating the studio sessions, Ian was listening to Dire Straits, Fleetwood Mac and Thin Lizzy, finding a love of the textures in clean guitars against dry drums to create a sonic backdrop that’s rare today.
One listen to ALBATROSS and it’s clear that Big Wreck is picking up where it left off. There’s no mistaking the voice, the virtuosity of playing or the pen with which it was written. Ask Ian Thornley if Big Wreck of 2012 (rounded out by guitarist Paulo Neta, drummer Brad Park and bassist Dave McMillan) is the Big Wreck that called it a day back in 2002 and he sees this as a natural extension. “It’s still the same thing,” he says. “I’m still looking to get off and get that feeling. I’m still searching for the perfect thing. I hope I never find it.”
Big Wreck will be touring Canada with Theory of a Deadman from Nov 16 through December 18, to be followed by a U.S. tour in early 2013.

On November 9th, the new live documents of German’s Metal icon#1, Udo Dirkschneider, and his band will be released. “Live In Sofia” also marks the end of an era somehow, as the stable U.D.O. lineup that performed together for many years will be shown for a last time. Massacre Records is proud to release the sophomore album from German/Italian melodic metal outfit LOVE.MIGHT.KILL in North America this November.
Featuring drummer Michael Ehré (Firewind, Uli Jon Roth, Metalium) and the brilliant singer Jan Manenti, LOVE.MIGHT.KILL appeared virtually out of nowhere in 2011 with their Brace For Impact debut, an album which perfectly combined the enthusiasm of a first appearance with the experience of a long songwriting career, instantly winning over a solid fanbase within the European hard rock/power metal scene.
One year later, LOVE.MIGHT.KILL are about to release their second opus, 2 Big 2 Fail, to North American audiences, following its very recent release in Europe. Boasting nearly an hour of incredibly hard-hitting, melodic power metal with a dozen anthems, 2 Big 2 Fail was produced by Michael Ehré, as with their first album. Being around for years as the drummer in bands like Gamma Ray, Firewind, Metalium or with artists like Uli Jon Roth, Matt “Gonzo” Roehr, Vinnie Moore and Kee Marcello, Ehré has made a strong impact in the national and international scene. The songs were then mixed and mastered by Markus Teske (Spock´s Beard, Saga, Vanden Plas) at his own Bazement-Studio.

WARBEAST Set to Release New Full Length Album ‘Destroy’ in Early 2013
Legendary Pantera, Superjoint Ritual and DOWN vocalist PHILIP ANSELMO and Housecore Records thrashers WARBEAST recently announced that they will be releasing a new split album entitled War of the Gargantuas. The split now has an official release date of January 8, 2013 and will include two songs from each artist. This album serves as the first release of any solo work by PHILIP ANSELMO during the span of his nearly 30-year legacy. Also, the two WARBEAST tracks on the split feature former bassist Alan Bovee before his amicable departure from the band. Since then, Dre Karst has joined on bass.
“This split is a glimpse into the future of both my solo project and ultimate thrash metallers WARBEAST. The title of the split is War of The Gargantuas and it is fitting on many levels because of our combined love for the 60’s Japanese film of the same name, the power of our combined musical output(s) and our humorous affection that plays out within each of our “Gargantuan” personalities,” states PHILIP ANSELMO. “Both WARBEAST and myself have full length LP’s that will be released shortly after this is released, but this split is unique musically. It is a time capsule; a loud pause ‘til we both release our full length products. Enjoy the destruction of music!”
“These two songs we have on War of the Gargantuas were the next level after Krush The Enemy,” states WARBEAST guitarist Scott Shelby. “They’ve been a staple in our set list for the last two years. These songs are a pure demonstration of our unique Texas thrash metal style.”
WARBEAST alsorecently announced the upcoming release of their second full-length album, Destroy. The album is scheduled to be released in early 2013 via Housecore Records and is currently in the mastering stages. Stay tuned for more information on Destroy coming very soon.
