In 1992, Hard Rock fans were hit broadside with a momentous hard rock album, entitled Want Some, that seemed to come out of nowhere. The band was Roxy Blue, and while they were relatively unknown outside of their hometown of Memphis, music industry insiders knew that there was something about this band that set them apart from all the pretty boy hair bands that were currently being signed on a daily basis. So much so that everyone wanted to work with Roxy Blue and be a part of their magic! When the smoke cleared, Motley Crue’s management team was chosen to head the ship, Guns N’ Roses Producer (Mike Clink) was chosen to produce their debut album, and Geffen Records was the label that would release it.
Word spread quickly that Roxy Blue was the hottest new band around and they became the darlings of the hard rock media. Management was gearing up to break Roxy Blue as ‘The Next Big Thing’. With constant comparisons to Van Halen, Warrant, and even Motley Crue everyone was feeling the energy and momentum surrounding this band. The bands album, Want Some, immediately broke the Top 40 on Billboards AOR chart and was even reported to be the ‘Most Spun Rock Record Of The Summer’ by Record and Review Magazine. A tour with Babylon A.D. and Wildside kicked off the summer party while MTV constantly kept the bands videos in rotation on shows like the “Top Twenty Countdown”, “Most Wanted”, and” Headbangers Ball”. The band was on a rocket-ride winning masses of fans in the process.
Just like a summer love affair, Roxy Blue was here and gone in the blink of an eye. It all came and went too quickly and fans were left wanting more! But something funny was going on in the music industry and a whole legion of hard rock hair-band fans were left scratching their heads as a genre they heavily supported was systematically being deconstructed… And the band would be left holding the distinction of ‘The Last Successful Hair Band Of All Time’ according to the novel “The History Of Rock-n-Roll”.
Where did it all go? How could a band with such a huge momentum and powerful live show and tons of fans all of a sudden be gone? The fans were definitely left Wanting Some More; and twenty years later that’s what the fans are getting with the release of WANT SOME MORE, STRIPPED, and LIVE AT NIGHTMOVES all available through FnA Records (www.fnarecords.net).
FnA Records has formed an alliance with Roxy Blue to pick up where they left off. The best way to do this is to raid the vaults and pull out all the unreleased studio recordings, demos, b-sides, rarities, and live tracks recorded before and during the early Roxy Blue Days.
FnA Records is proud to bring you these three albums available individually, as a three-pack (at a reduced price), and as autographed fan packs with a limited edition Roxy Blue guitar pic.

Canadian hard rock lovers will soon get to experience the theatrical hard rock that is Incura when they tour their homeland in advance of the release of their debut self-titled album. Incura has been confirmed for a headlining Canadian trek beginning in mid-January, 2013, which will also feature fellow countrymen Six Side Die and 40 Sons on select dates. Six Side Die is the new band of Brian Crouch, the former frontman of Juno-nominated rockers Hail The Villain. Please see below for confirmed tour dates; more dates will be announced shortly. In addition, Incura will make their first-ever appearance at this year’s Canadian Music Fest in Toronto in March; more details on their performance to be announced.
With a dramatic sound that is as much Iron Maiden as it is Queen and an exotic name to boot, Incura embodies an incredibly unique array of musical influences – from metal to prog rock with elements of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Phantom Of The Opera” thrown in for good measure (lead singer Kyle Gruninger has his roots in professional theatre). The Vancouver-based band will release their self-titled full-length debut album in North America on February 26th, 2013 via Coalition Music and Warner Music Canada. Get a taste of Incura with the lyric video (below) for the track, “I’m Here Waiting” from their forthcoming album.
Creating their moniker by combining the name of a previous band with that of a spell from the Final Fantasy games, Incura was formed in a small Canadian city in the Prairies a few years ago and has already toured with the likes of Stone Temple Pilots, Shinedown and Apocalyptica. Their sound is compelling, featuring epic arrangements, powerful crescendos and pristine musicianship. Incura is Kyle Gruninger (vocals), Jim McLaren (keys), Jono Olson (bass), Royce Whittaker (guitar) and Phil Gardner (drums).

Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of DIAMOND DAWN’s debut album “Overdrive” on February 22nd in Europe and February 26th in North America.
Hailing from Goteborg, Sweden DIAMOND DAWN are easily one of the most promising Melodic Rock bands to come out from the Scandinavian underground scene. They came to the
attention of the fans thanks to the digital release of the song “Standing as One”, which created a very nice buzz around the band’s abilities.
In a world where rock n roll seems to lack a certain positive nerve, the band stands for a vision of conveying energy and excitement through their pompous and melodic, yet hard rocking songs.
With a clear vision of how melodic rock is supposed to be delivered, DIAMOND DAWN is ready to bring back the excitement to the music!
“Our intention is to have a good time, and make people wanna have a good time!” says guitarist Olle Lindahl. “We wanted to write some great music and release a rockin’ debut album;
we definitely think that we managed to capture the positive energy that Diamond Dawn is all about. “Overdrive” is the album that we would want to go out and buy and tell the world about!”
Musically the band has not changed the coordinates that were possible to envision in “Standing As One” (a re-recorded version of the song will also appear on the new album), however, as Olle tells, “We’re not doing what we do or sound like we do for the purpose of keeping something old alive. We’re a bunch of guys that love to play together and when we do, the sound and output comes naturally. Our music is very melodic and pompous rock with a strong positive nerve. Each band member comes from a different musical background and that is what definitely makes the sound what it is. There is no way to control that as long as you do what you feel like!”
So get the party started and enjoy “Overdrive” which will probably end up being on many people’s best of list of 2013 even if the album will be released almost… at the beginning of the year !
Anticipated by the digital release of the awesome 1st single “Take Me Higher” on January 17th, “Overdrive” final tracklisting will include the following eleven tracks: Into Overdrive; Take Me Higher; Crying; Standing As One; California Rush; Indestructible; Turn It Up; The Hunter; Give It All; Don’t Walk Away; Powergames.
Turn it up loud and enjoy a “Take Me Higher” sample following this link:
One of the best Swedish Metal band has returned with another fabulous album and I couldn’t be more excited. If you haven’t checked out Bullet yet, this is definitely the time to get to know the band. Full Pull is the fourth album from the Swedish hard rockers and it could be their best album yet.
Hitting with the power of a freight train at full speed, Bullet once again delivers the hard rocking antics on Full Pull. The signature stomp and wail musical style is present and accounted for. The hard rocking, metal madness is all there. And Hell Hofer’s scratchy, screaming vocals are still intact. Hell Hofer has such a unique voice that it is hard for any description to do it justice. Some would categorize it as a voice that you either love or hate, but I don’t think that is 100 percent accurate. Either way, I love Hell’s voice and I feel that it is the perfect accompaniment to Bullet’s fast paced hard rock.
The three-pack of potential hits, “Midnight Oil,” “Full Pull,” and “Running Away,” get Full Pull started with a bang. The songs feature heavy guitar work led by Hampus Klang and complimented beautifully by Erik Almstrom. The guitar playing on Full Pull makes me want to be a teenager again, so that I can perform air guitar in front of my mirror for hours on end. Almstrom and Klang may not get the recognition of a Malmsteen, or a Bettencourt, but they are just as talented, and Full Pull helps prove that. Hofer’s vocals are in fine form and by the time “Running Away” shows up on the player, long time fans will be hooked once again. Hofer’s distinctive style continues to mesmerize.
Full Pull does find Bullet slightly altering their style and direction. While their previous albums have been a lot of “more of the same” (in a very good way), Full Pull finds the band slowing the tempo down at times. I wasn’t sure if that was so old fans could keep up, or an attempt to lure new fans into the fold. Full Pull finds Bullet leaning away from the thrash slightly and creeping toward the mainstream. And while there isn’t a ballad present on Full Pull, I worry that the band may be closer than ever to writing one. That would be a shame, because Bullet is truly about raw power and hard hitting rock and roll. Leave the ballads to the hair metal bands. Please.
Overall, Bullet have delivered another fantastic gem of a record that will have feet stomping, hands clapping, and fans cheering in no time. Bullet has never disappointed with a record release and they continue to follow that trend with Full Pull. If you haven’t taken the time to seek out Bullet, Full Pull is a great album to get you invested in the band. Any true metal music lover will find nothing but redeeming qualities when listening to Full Pull.

For almost 40 years now KROKUS has stood for high-quality, honest-to-goodness, hand-made power rock. No other Swiss rock band sells albums and its back catalogue worldwide like KROKUS. The band has already sold over 14 million records, toured the world and received gold and platinum record awards including the USA and Canada. The milestones in their rock career are dotted around the world: from Australia and the USA to Mexico, Russia, Japan and China
But it hasn’t all been one long “high”: death, sickness and internal strife have pushed the band to the brink of collapse. The story of KROKUS is like no other. Dotted with highs and lows, sell-out stadium concerts and sweaty club gigs, these five musketeers of rock have outlasted trends and survived treacherous US managers, tough splits, bad deals, shady lawyers, drugs, awful fast food, endless bus trips, disco, grunge, grotesque record companies and double-dealing advisors.
Today they are back in their classic line-up plus Mandy Meyer and are stronger than ever on their new album “DIRTY DYNAMITE”. Guest musician Kosta Zafiriou plays drums on the entire album. The band spent a whole two years working on the new album under the watchful eye of bassist and original founder Chris Von Rohr. “We didn’t spend all that time on golf courses or tennis courts. No, we just wanted to make the best album yet, the magnum opus of the new KROKUS era” says the hit producer. Guitarist Mark Kohler has this to add: “This is not just another KROKUS” album. I think we have definitely passed another rock milestone with this record”.
To reach this goal, no expense was spared. The band booked into the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London. KROKUS went back to their roots, back to where it all began with the Stones, the Beatles, the Free, the Who and the Bluesbreakers. Back to where the band headlined concerts in the Hammersmith Odeon, celebrating their first international success. “The atmosphere there is very special and we wanted to make the most of that”, says vocalist Marc Storace. Guitarist Fernando Von Arb is quick to add: “With DIRTY DYNAMITE we have recorded the urgently needed dirty kind of rock that no one plays in this country”.
You can get a free download of the brand new Krokus song ” Dirty Dynamite” at the link below. The article is in Swedish, but the registration box is pretty straight forward. Check it out!

The title of our new album is still a question mark to all of us… We have recorded a new album, and it’s a fantastic collection of songs.
Eight years after the release of Rapture Of The Deep, Deep Purple, one of the most important and influential British rock bands of all time, have confirmed the release of a new album featuring brand new studio material. This yet-to-be-titled album will be released stateside on April 30, 2013.
Disdained releases a brand new music video for the song “I Live For Your Pain” from the debut album “Kill My Only Enemy”!
Disdained hails from Sweden and its flourishing melodic progressive metal scene. Fronted by the beautiful vocals and mind tearing growls of Therese Thomsson, the mind blowing guitar art of Niklas Dahlin and Johan Hartman while supported by the heavy percussion skills of Johan Persson, the band is a musical force to reckon with.
With lyrics revolving around social and emotional dilemmas and musical arrangements of the darker variety the bands repertoire leaves no mind untouched.

Decatur, Illinois band Icon For Hire has just released a new video “Off With Her Head” which comes from the band’s 2011 debut Scripted. The group spent two days in Compton, CA (South Los Angeles) working with some of the hottest underground artists to create an otherworldly interpretation of the song. Frontwoman and fashion designer Ariel said recently, “We are pushing the boundaries, creatively and visually, to create a fashion-forward work that we can’t wait to share with our fans.”
The band caught the attention of Tooth & Nail Records in 2009 and signed later that year. The group then released, Scripted, in 2011 which shattered first week sales becoming the highest new artist debut in Tooth & Nail’s history.
Is this song Pop? It is it Hard Rock? Is it something in between? Icon For Hire kind of reminds me of My Darkest Days in the sense that the band’s music is hard to label.
Check out the band’s latest clip “Off With Her Head” and decide with your vote if this song and video should SINK or SWIM!
AFM Records is proud to announce the signing of legendary Italian Symphonic Power Metal band RHAPSODY OF FIRE to a worldwide deal.
RHAPSODY OF FIRE’s signature sound, consisting of Power Metal, soundtrack-like elements and classical influences gave a new meaning to the word “epic” since the release of “Legendary Tales” in 1997 and was a formula that many bands tried to copy– but never came even close.
Commented the band: “After playing the ‘From Chaos To Eternity World Tour 2012′
all around Europe, Canada, North America and Latin America, we became even more
excited and motivated to continue building our career and creating new exciting music. So now
we are finally proud to announce that RHAPSODY OF FIRE signed with a great label such as AFM.

Mutl-platinum rock band BUCKCHERRY released a lyric video for “Gluttony,” the lead single from the band’s upcoming album Confessions which will be released February 19th on Century Media Records.
Buckcherry just wrapped a string of UK dates and will headline North American shows in late December and January before joining Kid Rock as special guests on the upcoming “Rebel Soul” Tour beginning February 2 in Kansas City, MO. In addition, Buckcherry will co-headline Fremont Street Experience’s Downtown Countdown New Year’s Eve 2013 celebration in Las Vegas December 31.
While on tour, Buckcherry will preview new songs from Confessions, the band’s sixth studio album and first U.S. release for Century Media Records. Confessions merges punk grit, gutter attitude, honest storytelling, and razor sharp hooks. The lyrics are tied together by the underlying theme of the Seven Deadly Sins.
Buckcherry continues to resonate because they’re so unabashedly honest in their recordings and on stage. “It’s a real rock ‘n’ roll band,” says Nelson. “You get 100 percent of what we are and what we’re about. We don’t apologize for it.”
Buckcherry–Josh Todd (vocals), Keith Nelson (guitar), Stevie D. (guitar), Jimmy Ashhurst (bass), Xavier Muriel (drums)–are one of the premier rock bands of the new millennium, having sold more than three million records in America alone and touring virtually non-stop, playing with everyone from AC/DC to Avenged Sevenfold, touring sold-out arenas alongside Nickelback and KISS, and headlining festivals ranging from the punk rock Ink-N-Iron (also featuring the Misfits and Pennywise) to Sturgis. Radio staples “Lit Up,” “Crazy Bitch” and “Sorry” have cemented the band as one of the most identifiable and sought-after bands on the radio and the live circuits, and Confessions is primed to take the band to even greater heights.
Additional dates have been added to the band’s run of headlining North American gigs. The current Buckcherry tour itinerary is as follows:

Metal Blade Records is pleased to announce that Grammy Award nominated KING DIAMOND has signed a new 3 album worldwide record deal with the label.
“This is gonna be awesome! Another perfect piece of the puzzle. We have the full backup of Metal Blade, and there’s an understanding between us that goes much, much deeper than before. Our new business setup will noticeably benefit the fans in so many ways. You must have already noticed some of all the cool new stuff that is happening. Now we can’t wait to get out there and start touring again!”
KING DIAMOND is quite possibly the most recognizable and prolific personality ever in heavy metal. Revered by icons as big as Metallica and Pantera to inspiring new upstarts like Goatwhore; KING DIAMOND, the man and the band, have left an indelible mark on the history, and now again, the future of heavy metal.
In August of 2008, KING DIAMOND joined Metallica on stage at Ozzfest in Dallas to perform the Mercyful Fate medley made famous from the Garage, Inc. album. Additionally, KING DIAMOND was featured alongside Motorhead’s Lemmy Kilmister as a playable character in Guitar Hero: Metallica in 2009.
By 2012, KING DIAMOND was prepared to return to the stage for a select number of shows. The band’s triumphant return to the stage were the highlights of both the Hellfest and Sweden Rock festivals in France and Sweden. Fans at these festivals were treated to the largest and most involved stage production in the band’s storied history. Horror concepts from multiple albums were used in the décor; fans can rest-assured that this show will only get larger and more impressive at future performances.
KING DIAMOND’s 30+ year musical career is one of the most storied in history of heavy metal, but the tale is not yet over. The most recent release, 2007’s Grammy nominated album Give Me Your Soul…Please, stands as one of the most critically-acclaimed albums in an already iconic discography. Future albums will feature entirely new horror stories, concepts, haunting orchestrations, and the band’s signature brand of heavy metal from the mind of KING DIAMOND and the talented group of musicians in tow: Andy La Rocque, Mike Wead, Hal Patino, and Matt Thompson. Many more albums, tours, and ventures lay ahead.
