The British quartet will bring their electrifying brand of hard rock to Los Angeles for the show at The Viper Room on Friday, May 3rd. Limited tickets are available and can be purchased here. Heaven’s Basement will make at an appearance at the The Fifth Annual Revolver Golden Gods Award Show Presented By Epiphone © the day before.
Immediately following their headlining set at the “Aftermath,” Heaven’s Basement will then hit the road and be featured on the bill of such major U.S. rock festivals as UFiesta, Carolina Rebellion, Rockfest, Rock on the Range and Rocklahoma. The British quartet will also serve as main support for Buckcherry on their upcoming tour, including a return to NYC on May 23rd at Irving Plaza. In addition to dates with Buckcherry, they will play a string of club shows with The Last Vegas. Please see below for the itinerary.
Heaven’s Basement‘s debut album, FILTHY EMPIRE (Red Bull Records), is in stores now. Both it and the band have been receiving stellar reviews from the press and fans alike. Outburn declared, “On the strength of their kick-ass live show, Heaven’s Basement has seen their popularity and profile propel upward like a shot from a flare gun…” while The Aquarian avowed, “With this full-length debut, the band has made an explosive entrance onto the modern rock scene…” The band was also recently profiled in both Revolver and Guitar World, with Revolver dubbing them a “Band To Watch.”
FILTHY EMPIRE was produced by John Feldmann (The Used, Papa Roach, Black Veil Brides). The first single, “Fire, Fire,” is currently impacting Active Rock radio. Check out the video for the single, directed by Michael Maxxis (Ours, Sum 41, and Our Lady Peace), here. Another track “I Am Electric” was recently used in the new “Need For Speed Most Wanted” video game and its trailer which can be seen here.
Heaven’s Basement have been making a name for themselves via their relentless touring and fiery live show plus music that features huge guitar riffs, killer melodies and an arena-rock sound. Originally formed in the East Midlands in England, Heaven’s Basement have also toured the U.K. and Europe with the likes of Black Veil Brides, Papa Roach, Shinedown, Halestorm, Seether and more and played last year’s Download Festival in the UK to a packed tent of more than 5,000 fans. Kerrang declared, “Heaven’s Basement play as if their lives depend on it. They should already be a big name – bristling riffs and jagged, riotous hooks are their poison and exceptional is not too strong a word.” Heaven’s Basement is Aaron Buchanan (vocals), Sid Glover (guitar), Rob Ellershaw (bass), and Chris Rivers (drums).
Each year, Revolver throws the premier U.S. hard rock and metal awards show, the Revolver Golden Gods. In its fifth year, the show has featured appearances by Marilyn Manson & Johnny Depp, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Motley Crue, Rob Halford, Dave Grohl, Slash, Lemmy Kilmister, Dave Mustaine, William Shatner, Sebastian Bach, Alice Cooper, Kat Von D, and many others. PICTUREHOUSE’S METALLICA THROUGH THE NEVER ROCKS IMAX® 3D THEATRES FOR EXCLUSIVE RUN IN NORTH AMERICA BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 27
IMAX Corporationand Picturehouse today announced that Metallica Through the Never, filmmaker Nimród Antal’s captivating 3D movie featuring one of music’s most enduring and iconic bands, will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX® 3D format and released wide in North America exclusively into IMAX® theatres for a one-week engagement starting Friday, Sept. 27. The film will expand into additional theatres on Oct. 4.
Starring Metallica, a cast of thousands of their fans and breakout star Dane DeHaan (Chronicle, The Amazing Spider-Man 2), Metallica Through the Never is written and directed by award-winning filmmaker Nimród Antal (Predators, Kontroll) and produced by former IMAX film producer Charlotte Huggins (Journey to the Center of the Earth). The film marries groundbreaking footage and editing techniques with a compelling narrative, in which a band crew member (played by DeHaan) is sent out on a mission during Metallica’s roaring live set in front of a sold-out arena. While on this mission, he unexpectedly has his life turned completely upside down.
“IMAX! It doesn’t get bigger or cooler than that!” said Lars Ulrich who formed Metallica in 1981 together with James Hetfield. “For four guys in a rock band of average height, to get a chance to unleash their 3D film on IMAX screens the size of buildings across the country is a mind-blowing thought. ‘Hey look, Mom, I’m 50 feet tall (finally!)’ There is no better way to experience film and when you throw in the spectacle of music and sound this should amount to an unprecedented, unique and truly next level experience.”
“The totally immersive experience of IMAX 3D is the perfect complement to Metallica’s in-your-face, big and loud performance style,” said Bob Berney, CEO of Picturehouse. “The combination of the band’s music and a strong storyline create a unique cinematic experience for die-hard fans and general moviegoers alike.”
“Nimród Antal and Metallica have done a tremendous job capturing the essence of the band’s commanding live performances and have created a visual and aural cinematic spectacle,” said Greg Foster, Chairman and President of IMAX Entertainment. “We believe the power of The IMAX Experience® will deliver for Metallica fans and ensure they feel every part of this journey.”
The IMAX 3D release of Metallica Through the Never will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.

FIVE YEARS!!! I can’t believe it has been nearly five years since I have seen Airbourne play the last time! Airbourne rarely plays in the Cincinnati/Columbus, Ohio area, so when they announced a Monday night show in Columbus, Ohio, I knew I had to make the drive up for the show. Before the show began I talked to several of the fans in attendance, and for many, this was their FIRST Airbourne show. I would guess that after the performance that the band put on, this will be the first of many Airbourne shows for the fans in attendance.
Columbus, Ohio’s American Dog opened the show, and played a killer set of rock & roll to warm up the crowd. I have seen American Dog many times in the past, and somehow I always forget just how badass guitarist Steve Theado is. He is an impressive guitar player, that deserves far more attention than he gets. Talk about under rated. Theado’s picture should be in the dictionary under that word.
I loved every second of American Dog’s set. The band has the perfect amount of energy to complement Airbourne’s live set. This would be a killer national tour, even if it was on a club scale. I have to make it a point to see the band play again sometime this year. If you haven’t ever heard American Dog before, think Ted Nugent meets Motorhead, or something somewhere in between there. The band is a three-piece act led by former Salty dog, and Dangerous Toys bass player Michael Hannon on vocals, Steve Theado on guitar, and Michael Harris bashing the skins. Don’t miss them if they come to your town to play. Check out their new CD “Poison Smile”!
And now to Airbourne. What can I say about Airbourne that I haven’t said many times in the past. If you get the chance to see the band play live, by all means GO! You will not have a bad time at an Airbourne show. When Joel O’Keeffe and company take the stage, they put off enough energy to power a city. Their live set may not have pyro, big flashy video screens, or all the crap the big tours have, but the electricity the band emanates while rocking out is second to no other band out there.
This is the first time I ever got to see the band headline a show, and I wish I could have seen them play even longer. With a new CD “Black Dog Barking” ready to hit the streets in a few short weeks, I would have loved to have heard more songs from the new album. Airbourne did play “Live It Up” from the new album, and the new tune is as awesome live as the first time I heard it online. (Check it out in the clip below)
The Basement in Columbus, Ohio offered me the experience of a lifetime. I got to see Airbourne play only inches from the stage. That was a tremendous thrill for this old rocker. If anything, Airbourne made me feel even older. Even with earplugs (thanks Leanne), it took me three days to recover from the ear ringing, and lack of sleep I had Monday night/Tuesday Morning. It was all so very worth it to me.
Joel O’Keeffe is a terrific front man! He is always full of energy, and always has a few funny faces to offer the fans while rocking out, and he always finds away to interact with the crowd, even if it means soaking them with some beer. I don’t know how David Rhoads and Justin Street don’t get whiplash from all of the headbanging they due during the show. While Joel gets the majority of the attention, Rhoads and Street add to the frenzied energy that Airbourne offers up in their live show. Airbourne’s set was as tight as ever, the crowd at The Basement fed off of the band’s energy all night. There may have only been a hundred people there, but it felt like there was a thousand. It was a tremendous night of rock and roll, and one that I won’t ever forget!
Airbourne’s Set List:
Raise The Flag
Born To Kill
Diamond In the Rough
Blonde Bad & Beautiful
Chewin’ The Fat
Girls In Black
Cheap Wine & Cheaper Women
Live It Up
Too Much Too
Stand Up For Rock & Roll
Megadeth’s fourteenth album, Super Collider will be released June 4th. The title track is available now via iTunes.

On November 9, 2010, Styx brought two of their most revered albums, 1977’s The Grand Illusion and 1978’s Pieces Of Eight to the stage at the historic Orpheum Theater in Memphis, Tennessee. Eagle Rock Entertainment will release this concert, The Grand Illusion/Pieces Of Eight Live, as a 2CD set on May 7, 2013. [MSRP 15.98]
The Grand Illusion and Pieces Of Eight were both multi-platinum masterpieces that established Styx as a globally successfully rock act. This was the first time these albums were played live in their entirety. Showcasing the scope and sheer magnitude of the Styx sound, Tommy Shaw (vocals, guitars), James “J.Y.” Young (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Todd Sucherman (drums), Lawrence Gowan (vocals, keyboards), Ricky Phillips (bass, backing vocals), and Chuck Panozzo (bass guitar) perfectly portrayed what made their music so groundbreaking.
Since their 1972 inception, Styx has sold millions of records worldwide, and defined the AOR genre for a generation of fans. Known for melding the elements of prog-rock with searing hard rock guitar and stellar songwriting, the band has produced such beloved hits as “Renegade,” and “Come Sail Away.” The Grand Illusion/Pieces Of Eight Live is a fitting representation of an incredible career.

BAND TO PREVIEW NEW MATERIAL ON THE ROAD
BUSH LIVE FROM AUSTIN, TEXAS DVD NOW AVAILABLE
Earlier this week, multi-platinum rock band BUSH launched a North American tour with a sold-out show at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Houston, Texas. The band’s set included two brand-new songs, “This House Is On Fire” and “Loneliness Is A Killer,” both recently written during sessions for their upcoming album, due out later this year. The U.S. tour will be followed by dates overseas, including shows in Russia, London and Vienna, among others (see itinerary below).
BUSH (vocalist Gavin Rossdale, guitarist Chris Traynor, bassist Corey Britz, drummer Robin Goodridge) recently released Live From Austin, Texas, an electrifying concert DVD featuring footage from an August 2011 sold-out show at Stubbs. The disc, also available on Blu-ray, features fan favorites “Machinehead,” “Glycerine” and “Comedown” – along with new hits “All My Life,” “The Afterlife” and “The Sound of Winter.”
BUSH made rock radio history with “The Sound of Winter,” becoming the first band ever to hit No. 1 at Alternative Radio with a self-released single. The song appears on the group’s most recent release, THE SEA OF MEMORIES, which was the first Bush disc to be released via the band’s own imprint, Zuma Rock Records.
“The Sound of Winter” also holds the distinction of being the reunited group’s first No. 1 single since 1999’s chart-topping hit, “The Chemicals Between Us.”
Over the course of their career, Bush has sold more than 16 million albums in the U.S. and Canada alone. They’ve also compiled an amazing string of 15 consecutive Top 40 hit singles on the Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock charts, including 11 that hit the Top 5. Five of these became No. 1 hits: “Comedown,” “Glycerine,” “Swallowed,” “The Chemicals Between Us” and “The Sound of Winter.” In 2008, Rossdale returned to the top of the charts with his solo single, “Love Remains The Same,” which hit No. 1 on iTunes and generated more than 1.6 million downloads.

CONFIRM FULL NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
20 DATE TREK KICKS OFF
JULY 25 IN HOUSTON, TEXAS
Following the overwhelming response to the initial announcement of just four tour dates, BLACK SABBATH have now confirmed a full 20-city North American trek. Launching July 25 in Houston, TX, the tour will include shows in Philadelphia, Boston, Tinley Park (Chicago), San Francisco and other major markets, along with the previously announced stops in Holmdel, NJ (NY-area), Los Angeles, Seattle and Toronto, ON. Tickets for the newly announced dates will go on sale starting Friday, May 3 at LiveNation.com and Ticketmaster.com. A full list of cities and on sale dates for the dates is below. Beginning today, fans can click here or visit http://bit.ly/Sabbath_RSVP to RSVP for early access to presale tickets available Thursday, May 2. VIP Packages are also available at VIPNation.com.
BLACK SABBATH launched their world tour on April 20 with two shows in Auckland, NZ. They are now in Australia for performances in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide, before heading to Tokyo for the first-ever Ozzfest in Japan on May 12.
Along the overseas tour, BLACK SABBATH–OZZY OSBOURNE, TONY IOMMI and GEEZER BUTLER–are previewing music from their forthcoming 13. On the new album, due out June 11, the band that defined heavy metal picks up immediately where they left off with eight sprawling songs (five of them are over eight minutes) that possess every ounce of the maniacal vitality of the Grammy-winning, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees’ trailblazing work in the ’70s. Songs such as “End of the Beginning,” “Loner,” “Dear Father” and “Age of Reason” reinforce 13’s testament to the enduring relevance of BLACK SABBATH‘s long-running reign. Produced by Rick Rubin (seven-time Grammy winner, two of those as Producer of the Year), 13 will be released on Vertigo (worldwide) and Vertigo/Republic in the U.S.
Here’s some critical feedback from BLACK SABBATH’s opening night:
New Zealand Herald (4-21-13) Black Sabbath brought together fans young and old…in horn-throwing, fist-pumping fashion…[Ozzy] jumped and stomped about the stage with passion and energy to burn. Could he still cut it? Yes, he could…Black Sabbath’s spark lit up the arena.”
Stuff.co.nz (4-21-13): “Black Sabbath still the kings…on a night when Sabbath proved just why they belong in the unique pantheon of true rock greats…you realise that catching Sabbath at this stage in their long career was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”

One year ago I witnessed Pop Evil as the opening act for Theory of a Deadman while touring behind their smash album, War Of Angels. At the time, I saw a band that was hungry, on the rise, and giving a performance that destroyed the one from the band they opened for. This past Friday I saw Pop Evil as a very special guest act for Three Days Grace while touring in anticipation of their forthcoming release, Onyx. This time I got to see a band that was tighter, hungrier, and even more dedicated to their live performance than ever before. What a difference a year makes.
The Sherman Theater, where Pop Evil and Three Days Grace performed, holds 2,000 people at maximum capacity. 1,800 tickets were sold for that Friday night show. Just before Pop Evil took the stage, 1,600 fans stood waiting for the special guests to open the night. There were no other bands scheduled to perform. Minutes before Pop Evil promptly took the stage at 8:00 PM, the crowd filled in tight on the floor from the front of the stage all the way to the exit doors. When the lights went down the crowd erupted.
Pop Evil performed a mind blowing ten song set. Knowing only 45 minutes were allotted for their performance, the band avoided gimmicks and let the music do the talking. The music spoke volumes. Opening with their debut single “Hero” (from Lipstick On The Mirror) Pop Evil exploded onto the stage with a deafening roar from the crowd supporting them. Their night only got better from there. Playing their best known hits (“Monster You Made,” “Purple”) along with some new gems (“Trenches,” “Goodbye My Friend”), Pop Evil made the most of their short time. Once again, during the performance of “Purple” I heard fans proclaim that they had to buy that album or that song. It happens every time I see the band in concert. It is how they win their fans over—one song at a time, one performance at a time.
And while they had a couple of months off to record their new album (Onyx, due out May 14th), the band never really left the road after War Of Angels was released. The band has played anywhere and everywhere, opening for whoever would have them, and headlining their own shows when they couldn’t open. All of the constant touring has matured the band in ways that were visibly and audibly noticeable. Their set was much tighter, with a higher level of confidence in the music. And with five singles in a row breaking the top 15 on the music charts, why shouldn’t they be confident of their music? On stage, the crowd saw five men very proud of what they have accomplished, while yearning to achieve much more.
Drummer Chachi Riot (aka Josh Marunde) should have been nicknamed Animal after the mad drumming puppet from The Muppet Show. He has the similar wild mane of hair, beard, wicked grin, and drumming style. Chachi is insane behind the drum kit, standing for most of the show while pounding the skins and slamming the cymbals. Bassist Matt DiRito is akin to an angry pirate, whipping his long tangled hair around and around while holding the rhythm section steady. Dave Grahs quietly provides perfect rhythm guitar, playing concise chords that burst the music to a higher level. And while long time fans may miss the presence of Tony Greve, current lead guitarist Nick Fueling has come into his own, creating blistering solos in addition to his exceptional leads. Then, at the center of it all, is front man Leigh Kakaty. Still singing like an angel, still looking like he is having the time of his life onstage, still whipping the crowd into a frenzy. Pop Evil has gotten much stronger in the live setting since the last time I saw them.
And while the fan favorites (and biggest hits) “100 In A 55” and “Monster You Made” drew a nice reaction from the crowd, it was the new single, “Trenches” that produced the loudest roar of the night. It was interesting to see that fans already knew the song. Judging from their reaction to the live performance, they loved it a lot.
If you haven’t had the chance to see Pop Evil in concert, now is definitely the time. They are still performing in clubs where you can get up close and personal with the band, but that is not going to last much longer. This band has positioned themselves for superstardom and it is only a matter of time before they are headlining arenas and we are complaining that we could only score tickets in the nosebleed section. Do yourself a favor and go see the band now, so you can say, “I saw them when…” They are worth every penny you spend on them.

“The Poet and the Thief”, the new video from rockers THE FUZZ DRIVERS, can be seen below. The video is the second single from the band’s self-titled debut album, released worldwide on January 31st and available for FREE download at www.thefuzzdrivers.com
Currently riding a wave of rave reviews for their debut album, THE FUZZ DRIVERS recently decided to take a big step and make their album available for free in order to spread the music all over the world and the decision proved to be a good one.
“We are having a huge amount of people downloading our album daily and offering us a lot of good feedback and support and ultimately that is all that matters in this day and age for an upcoming band. We are a LIVE band, so that is exactly what we want to do: Have the opportunity to play live as much as we can, everywhere!”
THE FUZZ DRIVERS debut album is filled with a Hard Rock/Classic Rock vibe but still retains a modern touch mixed with a highly melodic component, packing a loud and energetic punch!
The video was directed and edited by renowned artist João Vasco.
The CD was recorded, produced and mixed by the band at THE FUZZ DRIVERS Studio during the past summer and was mastered at Estudio|SantaRosa in Sintra, Portugal.
The album cover was handmade by the talented artist Alex Konahin.
The official lyric video for the first single “Discordia Song” can also be seen here: http://youtu.be/4aondP1J58U?hd=1

BLACK WATER RISING is back with the follow up to their critically acclaimed self-titled debut. The yet to be titled sophomore effort due out this July from the New York Hard Rockers represents what many would describe as another honest, barebones, no frills rock album. “The recipe is the same as the first. I didn’t deviate from what I believe BLACK WATER RISING music to be, I didn’t set out to grow or mature says frontman Rob Traynor. He continues, “I feel this new album is not much of a departure from the first, and I believe that’s a good thing. Besides, I don’t think fans would want it any other way. I’m still writing from the same place I was writing from before, I’m still the same guy…for better or for worse. We’re still the same band, with the addition of a killer new guitarist, Dennis Kimak who joined us after the departure of our original guitarist Johnny.”
BLACK WATER RISING was formed from the ashes of various national touring acts. After releasing two self produced albums nationwide with a band called Dust To Dust, singer songwriter Rob Traynor locked himself away in his Brooklyn, New York recording studio, later emerging with a collection of songs that would become the seeds of BLACK WATER RISING‘s debut album. Traynor was soon joined by former Boiler Room drummer Mike Meselsohn, former Stereomud guitarist Johnny Fattoruso and bassist Oddie McLaughlin and they would unleash their self-titled debut album on March 2, 2010. The album would achieve the #1 slot on Amazon.com‘s Hard Rock Chart upon release and the band received heavy airplay on Sirius Satellite Radio’s Octane channel for the singles “Brother Go On” and “No Halos”. The album reached the #6 slot in the Top 20 airplay chart for the channel. “Brother Go On” also cracked the top 40 on the Media Base Active Rock Radio Chart.
Invigorated and eager to capitalize on the success of their debut album, the band’s new material promises to be riff heavy and proudly anchored in the foundations of traditional hard rock and metal song writing with hooks and catchy choruses to pull you in. New songs like Show No Mercy, Pissed And Driven, Last Man Standing and Fire It Up combine the bands love of Thin Lizzy and Judas Priest with the sonic stomp of Black Label Society, all while retaining a musical identity of their own.
BLACK WATER RISING is:
Rob Traynor – Vocals, Guitar
Dennis Kimak – Guitar
Mike Meselsohn – Drums
Oddie McLaughlin – Bass

WHITE WIZZARD has revealed the artwork for their upcoming third full-length album, The Devils Cut, which is due to be released on June 3rd in Europe via Earache Records and on June 25th in the USA via Century Media/Earache Records. The Devils Cut features artwork by Cameron Davis, who is known for his work as the lead character designer and illustrator for the Guitar Hero video game series.
WHITE WIZZARD bassist and mainman Jon Leon comments:
“It was great to work with the amazing artist Cameron Davis again, who also did the art for our album ‘Over the Top’. Cameron and I live in the same building here in LA and he is a really talented guy. When he presented me the piece for the album cover, I knew right away it was the one. It has amazing imagery and depth and is very artful, while making a tongue-in-cheek statement poking some fun at organized religion, which is something I feel strongly about.
Some of my lyrics on this album and previous albums focus on not letting religion and the cult of group belief blind you from the preservation of thinking for yourself and being an individual, so it ties into that very well, as the statement of the piece is how religion is imprisonment for the soul and how, even within its own confines, it forces its believers into blind group submission. I think any of us that went to catholic school as a child can relate to that nun!!! It has ‘classic metal cover’ all over it and it just blew my mind.
I look forward to this imagery being out there and am proud to have it be a part of WHITE WIZZARD. To have art of this quality to convey the visual aspects of the band is just fantastic.”

In 2010, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and uber-energetic front-man and all-round rock ‘n’ roll legend MICHAEL MONROE unveiled his new side project in grand style via an exclusive press conference. Flash forward six months to a full UK tour with Motörhead, and another few months to the release of Another Night in the Sun, a globally-anticipated live album that teased fans clamoring for a final, polished taste of the new project. Finally, roughly a year after MICHAEL MONROE’s original public reveal, the band released their first critically-acclaimed full-length release, Sensory Overdrive, produced by Jack Douglas (Aerosmith, John Lennon). The album went on to win Classic Rock Magazine’s ‘Album Of The Year’ award and landed at #1 on the charts in MM’s Finnish homeland.
In 2012, after touring throughout the UK in support of Sensory Overdrive, Monroe announced that he would go back into seclusion to prepare for the band’s next offering. Monroe’s touring and recording outfit, comprised of bassist Sami Yaffa (ex-Hanoi Rocks/New York Dolls), guitarist Steve Conte (ex-New York Dolls/Company Of Wolves), guitarist Dregen (Backyard Babies, formerly of Hellacopters fame) and drummer Karl ‘Rockfist’ Rosqvist (ex-Chelsea Smiles/Danzig), worked tirelessly in the studio, providing creative support for a frontman whose reputation is genuinely global and whose influence continues to be felt, with musicians of all ages (from Dave Grohl to the original Gun n’ Roses members) citing Michael’s ground-breaking career as a source of inspiration.
Now after several months, the wait is over. MICHAEL MONROE can finally reveal that the band’s upcoming studio album, Horns and Halos, will hit stores everywhere on August 27, 2013 via Spinefarm Records. The band offers a taste of the new album in the form of a new single and video for the track ‘Ballad Of The Lower East Side’, which can be watched now below.
The track includes a nod to Michael’s early days in New York, a city he moved to for a decade following the mid-’80s break up of glam punk pioneers, Hanoi Rocks. The clip – directed by celebrated videographer/photographer Ville Juurikkala, who has photographed Michael for the past 10 years as well as working with Linkin Park, Good Charlotte and HIM, amongst others – features archive footage and photos of Michael in prime Big Apple mode, interlaced with current live and backstage scenes.
“The song ‘Ballad Of The Lower East Side’ is about New York and especially The Lower East Side – what it was way back in the days when I lived there, how times have changed and how it is nowadays.,” states MICHAEL MONROE. “New York has always been an important city to me since I lived there for 10 years. Two members of our band still live there. It’s the City of all Cities.”

SIMMONS RECORDS/UME RECORDING ARTIST
KOBRA AND THE LOTUS MAJOR LABEL DEBUT OUT NOW
BAND NOW ON FEAR FACTORY TOUR
Their Own “ROCK CITY” TV Show Premieres On SPIKE TV In September
Kobra And The Lotus make their major label debut with their self-titled album KOBRA AND THE LOTUS on April 16, 2013, on Simmons Records/T-Boy Records/Universal Music Enterprises (UME).
Formed in 2009 by powerhouse vocalist Kobra Paige, Kobra And The Lotus have been more than busy touring Canada, the UK and Europe extensively with ball-busting hard work and intensity that secured coveted slots at Hellfest, Wacken Open Air, Download and Bloodstock in 2012.
The life of Kobra Paige and her band Kobra And The Lotus, will be chronicled for the show “Rock City,” airing on Spike TV, Fall 2013. Their 8 episode season will follow the grit, drama, and thrills, both on the road and off, as this emerging metal band takes to the road on their world tour.
Featuring female metal warrior Kobra Paige on lead vocals, Jasio Kulakowski on guitar, Pete Dimov on bass and Griffin Kissack on drums, the band recently added Latin America’s most famous metal axeman Charlie Parra del Riego.
For Kobra And The Lotus’ self-titled release, producer Kevin Churko (Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Ozzy Osbourne) was brought in to assist delivering precise songs heavy with emotion. The Kobra and The Lotus release has an intentionally grand-scale dynamic, magnifying the glories of the genre and making its mark as ‘arena’ rather than ‘garage’ rock.
The band is co-signed to Gene Simmons’ label – Simmons’ Records. Simmons has a longstanding reputation for discovering, assisting or recognizing new artists like Van Halen. Many of the early artist demos he worked on or helped with have gone on to become multi-platinum records and legendary rock anthems.
Andy Gould, head and curator of T-Boy Records, recognized Kobra’s talent and his newly minted T-Boy Records will serve as the umbrella label for Kobra And The Lotus. T-Boy Records releases new music and albums from established iconic hard-rock bands. Current releases include Rob Zombie’s Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor (due April 23) and Megadeth’s Super Collider (due June 4). Gould adds, “It’s great to have a fresh act on the label that is carrying on all the best heavy metal traditions. And of course, it’s fantastic to be in business with Gene [Simmons].”
KOBRA AND THE LOTUS packs a powerful 10-track punch featuring the multi-range wailing vocals of metal hellion Kobra Paige, with infectious harmonies and sweeping choruses over powerful metal riffs, thundering bass and rapid fire percussion. KOBRA AND THE LOTUS contains driving anthems “50 Shades of Evil,” “Welcome To My Funeral,” “My Life” and “Forever One,” more dramatic stylings in “Aria of Karmika,” and they build on tradition with “Nayana” and “No Rest For The Wicked”. The band sets the stage for a tender intimate moment with “Sanctuary” before launching into skull-crushing guitars to carry the track out.
In support of their new album, Kobra And The Lotus will now take on America with an extensive North American tour supporting Fear Factory. The carnage starts April 14 in Colorado Springs, CO winding throughout the U.S. and Canada conquering this continent one face-melting show at a time.

When Vicious Rumors returned from a long, strenuous and immensely successful world tour in autumn 2011, the musicians – least of all band mastermind and main songwriter Geoff Thorpe – couldn’t really see themselves mustering the energy to release a new studio album in the foreseeable future. “2011 was a monster year for Vicious Rumors in the most positive sense of the word,” he says, looking back at that time with surprise and some satisfaction. “We were on the road non-stop for more or less eight months, played countless club shows and performed at some of the most important festivals worldwide. The last show of the tour took place as part of the 70,000 Tons Of Metal cruise – what a finale! Then everything was over very suddenly and we started to work on our new album without so much as a break. Perhaps you can imagine how difficult that was and how much concentration we needed to do that kind of work without any loss of friction.” Now the doubtlessly successful result of that big challenge is scheduled for release: Vicious Rumors are set to unleash Electric Punishment sounding more multi-faceted and creative than they have done in a long time.
Vicious Rumors has released a new video today “I Am The Gun” in support of Electric Punishment. Check it out below!
There definitely is no discernible loss of friction on Electric Punishment, which is again ruled by what Thorpe refers to as an “impressive double bass thunder, double guitar attacks and haunting vocals the way you only get them with this band”. At the same time, the ten new songs are clearly more multi-layered and diverse than the material on its 2011 predecessor Razorback Killers. “While Razorback Killers was heavy all the way through from start to finish, the new material is more in the vein of Word Of Mouth,” Thorpe explains. At the same time, the uncompromising toughness that their fans have come to expect of Vicious Rumors is present on Electric Punishment as well: the two openers ‘I Am The Gun’ and ‘Black X List’ are typical as can be of Vicious Rumors. Thorpe refers to those numbers as “classic power metal tracks which would have fitted on every one of our albums. But there’s also an unusually atmospheric song called ‘Eternally’, an anthem to our audience entitled ‘Together We Unite’ and a deeply black ballad named ‘Escape (From Hell)’. I’m sure that our fans will be just as surprised of the whole album as they will be of the final Kiss cover ‘Strange Ways’.”
Surprised and most likely thrilled, because once again the band has brought all its skills to bear and come up with a real highlight. Thorpe, vocalist Brian Allen, bassist Stephen Goodwin and drummer Larry Howe were supported by guitarist Thean Rasmussen, who returned to the Vicious Rumors fold after Razorback Killers. In addition, Thorpe & Co. invited a number of former allies to the studio as guest musicians: Brad Gillis features on ‘D-Block’, ‘Together We Unite’ and ‘Eternally’, Marc McGhee on ‘Escape (From Hell)’, and last but not least tour guitarist Bob Capka helped out at the studio with a number of rhythm guitars and a haunting solo on ‘D-Block’. Thorpe: “I had a few problems with my fingers, that’s why I was glad that Bob was there to help. Otherwise it probably wouldn’t have been possible to stick to our tight production schedule.”
So it’s done: Electric Punishment is Vicious Rumors’ eleventh studio album and proves just how much of a force to be reckoned with this band continues to be. “We have permanently grown, there have been no two identical albums in our career because each album has a new, fresh approach,” comments Thorpe, not without pride. “Still we’ve never strayed from our course – perhaps precisely for this reason. We’ve remained faithful to our ideals and have always been honest with our fans. I think our loyal followers value that Vicious Rumors have never jumped on any kind of bandwagon. Everything we do comes from the heart, and Electric Punishment documents that no other band on this planet sounds like Vicious Rumors. To us, that’s an incentive, a challenge and a quality feature all in one. And it’s something our fans can rely on when we set off on our next monster tour in spring 2013.” Vicious Rumors have been scheduled to headline countless clubs and play important festivals (the Headbangers Open Air in Germany and the Alcatraz festival in Belgium having been confirmed already) before going on to Japan and the USA. Thorpe: “We’re facing big challenges again – but that sort of thing has always helped Vicious Rumors to grow!”

Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of a brand new – all original – studio album JORN “Traveller” on June 11th in North America and June 14th in Europe.
Considered one of the greatest legends in rock, and by many as the best male rock singer of the millennium, Jorn Lande never seems to stop producing music, and is back with yet another slab of classic 1st division heavy rock. The brand new album “Traveller” is definitely a suitable title to fit this gifted and creative viking’s extreme productivity.
During his almost 30 year long career his albums have sold millions. He managed to release close to 40 albums with various bands/projects in the past decades, and “Traveller” is his 8th studio album under the Jorn banner. Some say he has passed his successors by his gift of being versatile, and ability to not get stuck in the political frames of the music business. A true independent “freebird” hammering his legacy in stone as he
goes, with a band of grounded and solid craftsmen to back up his hurricane force voice.
This album represents the first product of the pairing of Jorn Lande and the new JORN guitarist Trond Holter (Wig Wam, Dream Police). The result is eleven new songs encompassing a variety of moods and styles, with Lande’s voice shining through memorable anthems, backed by wonderful grooves and tightly-executed Classic and Melodic Heavy Metal. “This album has all the elements of the Jorn legacy,” says Lande. “It is heavy, but still very melodic and experimental, and it really rocks! As usual we haven’t spent much time analyzing the material before recording it, this is an album about life, doom and death reflecting on what I know and thoughts about what I don’t”.
Being one of the most productive artists of his time, Jorn makes sure that the fans won’t have to wait long for the rock!
“Traveller” includes the following tracks:

I have complained many times that ticket prices have gotten way out of hand, and in 2013, I think I would consider paying higher prices, simply due to the lack of quality rock shows. Yes, there are many music festivals, and some very good ones in 2013, but I am talking about the multi-city rock tours that usually take place every summer.
When I look at the schedule for our local venue Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, there are a few rock shows. Rush, Bad Company with Lynyrd Skynyrd and Black Stone Cherry, and Kid Rock, ZZ Top and Uncle Cracker, Heart with Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience. That is it.
There are no metal acts on the summer schedule, and not enough hard rock for my tastes. I guess have been spoiled by the KISS/Motley tour, Iron Maiden & Alice Cooper, Def Leppard and Poison etc. from years past. 2013 is definitely missing a major multi-band rock show. Is it time for a promoter to start-up another Rock Never Stops or Monsters of Rock tour? I think so!
There is a great void on the summer tour schedule this year. No KISS, No Aerosmith, No Def Leppard, No AC/DC on the summer bills. Nickelback is nowhere to be seen, and Metallica is missing in action too. It seems like all of the major rock acts are taking the year off (at least in the U.S. anyways).
I am grateful for festivals like M3 where I can get two fantastic days of rock, but I don’t want this to be my last live rock experience of 2012 either. Bring on the rock shows!!!
The walls are shaking. KROKUS rehearse at full throttle in the living room of bassist/producer Chris von Rohr’s 103-year old villa for the upcoming tour dates.
“If a song played on low volume sounds thrilling, we know that it really will sound incredible played at a higher volume,” explains the host this relaxed hard rock rehearsal in his living room. “The atmosphere here is perfect,” says guitarist Mandy Meyer, who has come back to the fold of the classic formation 30 years later. “Here we can arrange the sound of our guitars perfectly before we rev up the sound volume controls from two to ten.” “At present the fun factor in our band is higher than ever,” says Fernando von Arb, as he sweeps gently over the strings of his guitar. Vocalist Marc Storace adds: “We are very proud of the cool new songs.”
After a handful of smaller venues in Switzerland, starting May 2nd, KROKUS are scheduled to play huge festivals throughout Europe (see Krokus Tour dates here). Asia is knocking at the door next, wanting the Swiss rockers to tour there next and America has shown interest as well. “We old dogs will rock like puppies,” promises Von Arb.
Fresh off ZZ Top’s Australian Tour, The Dead Daisies are set to release their lead single ‘Lock ’N’ Load’.
Featuring the signature guitar riffs of Slash (Dik Hayd Records) and laced with Jon Stevens’ trademark vocals this classic track will rock you
to your very core.
“Slash and I wrote ‘Lock ‘N’ Load’ which was recorded with Simon Horsford, and John Fields, who produced The Dead Daisies album.
Slash loves the song and the album, and is really happy with the way they have turned out. He doesn’t just play on anyone’s album… this is a labour
of love.” – Jon Stevens
Slash recently tweeted on March 23:
‘Heard the mix of “Lock & Load.” A song Jon Stevens & I wrote. Sounds great. He’s recorded it w/his band DEAD DAISIES. W/my gtrs’.
Joining The Dead Daisies directly off the Thin Lizzy Australian tour is Californian, hard rock bassist Marco Mendoza. With a career spanning more than twenty years, Mendoza has played
with the cream of the rock industry, including Thin Lizzy, Ted Nugent and Whitesnake.
Hammond keyboardist extraordinaire Clayton Doley (The Divinyls, Jimmy Barnes, Silverchair), also joins The Dead Daisies for the Aerosmith Tour dates.
The rest of the band line up is rounded out by Richard Fortus (Guns N Roses), Jon Stevens (INXS, Noiseworks), Charley Drayton (The Divinyls, Cold Chisel), and David Lowy (Red Phoenix, Mink, The Angels) .
‘Lock ‘N’ Load’ will be released digitally on iTunes on April 19, 2013
