0 Rock Allegiance Tour 2013 – All That Remains
In 2013, I have seen quite a few new and classic bands for the very first time. One of those bands is All That Remains. I have seen plenty of their video clips over the years, as well as a live DVD, but have never experienced All That Remains in a live setting.
All That Remains is a band that has stayed off of my radar, simply because I wasn’t a big fan of the band’s metalcore beginnings. The bands more recent offerings lean more towards the mainstream. The songs that singer Philip Labonte sings in a clean singing voice I like a lot. While All That Remains live show is a mix of both styles, there are more than enough songs with the clean vocals to keep me interested. I am glad that I got to see the band perform at the Rock Allegiance concert. I will definitely be picking up their latest album A War You Cannot Win soon!
If you haven’t heard All that Remains before, I recommend you check out the video clips below.
0 Rock Allegiance Tour 2013 – Airbourne
The 2013 Rock Allegiance Tour is in full swing with the bands Airbourne, All That Remains, HIM and Volbeat. While this may seem like a somewhat odd combination of bands, all four bands most definitely rock, and rock hard.
Airbourne is the opening band for this tour, and if you want to see them, you gotta be at the venue on time. They started at 7:00 P.M. sharp in Cincinnati, Ohio, and put on one hell of a show. There may have only been six songs in Airbourne’s set, but they definitely raised the bar high for the other bands that followed them.
The band opened up with “Ready to Rock”, and Joel O’Keefe took his guitar solo in this song out into the crowd via a piggy back ride from one of his roadies. This certainly got the crowd fired up, and deservedly so.
Airbourne always delivers a tremendous, hair-flying, fun rock and roll show that should not be missed.

0 New Video – Sinner – Don’t Believe A Word

Back to the 80’s! That’s not only the mission behind SINNER’s upcoming album “Touch Of Sin 2” (released on August 30th), so their new video clip “Don’t Believe A Word” takes you back to the times of DeLorean, Indiana Jones, Rambo, video recorders and Miami Vice.
For “Touch Of Sin 2″ the band took 11 of their classic tracks from the 80’s (from their long out of print cult albums “Dangerous Charm”, “Touch Of Sin” and “Comin’ Out Fighting”) and did an extensive re-recording. In addition, 3 brand new songs were produced to end up on the record.
0 ICONIC ROCK BAND STRYPER REVEALS AUDIO SAMPLES FROM FORTHCOMING STUDIO ALBUM!

Legendary rock band Stryper reveals audio samples for three tracks from their forthcoming studio album, NO MORE HELL TO PAY. Check out snippets of “Revelation,” “Saved By Love” and “Marching Into Battle” below.
NO MORE HELL TO PAY is set for a November 5th release in North America and will be available in two formats – standard CD and deluxe digipak featuring exclusive video content. Produced by frontman/guitarist/songwriter Michael Sweet, the set features some of Stryper’s strongest and heaviest material ever.
Stryper is one of the top Christian rock bands of all time. Comprised of the original line-up of Michael Sweet (lead vocals/guitar), Tim Gaines (bass), Robert Sweet (drums) and Oz Fox (guitar), Stryper has been going strong since 1984, and is responsible for such ’80s metal classic albums as SOLDIERS UNDER COMMAND, TO HELL WITH THE DEVIL, IN GOD WE TRUST and such MTV hit singles/videos as “Calling on You,” “Free” and “Honestly.” After a sabbatical for much of the 1990’s, Stryper returned strong in the early 21st century. To date, the band has sold upwards of 10 million records worldwide and is a Dove Award-winner and GRAMMY nominee. Stryper is the first band to have two songs in MTV’s Top 10 simultaneously.

0 Vie’s Verses – Shinedown May Be The Best Live Act I’ve Seen In Years

This past Saturday I had the pleasure of seeing the Carnival Of Madness tour with Hard Rock Hideout’s own Rob Rockitt. With some great bands on the bill and ticket prices being very reasonable, how could we say no? We got to witness: We As Human, In This Moment, Skillet, Papa Roach, and headliners Shinedown, for less than the price of a trip to the movies. Now that’s what I call bang for your buck!
And while all of the bands were exceptional in the live setting, headliners Shinedown really stood out for me. I had not seen Shinedown since 2004 when I watched them open for Van Halen as part of the Van-Hagar reunion. At the time, I barely knew who the band was, but I thought that they were good enough to learn more about. Flash forward almost ten years and I got to watch them as headliners for one amazing bill.
Shinedown’s current album, Amaryllis, is their best album yet and I ranked it as the 5th best hard rock album for 2012. And while their album is phenomenal, it is nothing compared to their live show. In short, Shinedown kicked my ass all over Cincinnati. From the opening notes of “I’m Not Alright” being played behind the curtain, I knew this was going to be a special night. When the curtain came crashing down, we were witness to a circus act of fire jugglers, some on stilts, some on unicycles, and some just walking. The flames lit up from the back of the stage and we could feel the heat in our seats. Rob and I simply started at each other slack jawed. It was one of the coolest openings to a concert I had ever experienced. And that was only the beginning.
Shinedown really worked hard to keep things upbeat and to keep the crowd involved. A huge video screen was the backdrop to their stage, and it frequently played all different sorts of videos as the band performed their hits. For “Enemies,” the band’s video to the song aired in the background, for “Adrenaline,” it was a whip riding drive through city streets at night, and for “Bully” it was the saddest and most touching moment of the night (more on that in a little bit).

Nothing but the hits were performed (and Shinedown has a lot of them), but it wasn’t just the hits that made their performance so memorable. It was the energy that the band performed them with. Every song they played came with an urgency like this was their only chance to win fans over permanently. There was no stopping Shinedown for this concert. Their passion, their energy, their desire, and their hunger were all evident and greatly appreciated.
When “Sound Of Madness” was performed as the first song of the encore, I was quite surprised. I was certain that it would have been the last song of the night. However, Shinedown saved that honor for “Bully.” The band’s performance of Bully was as strong and solid as the other 14 songs they played prior. However, it was the video on the screen that really jolted me and made me take notice.
I am not sure if anyone is familiar with the story of Amanda Todd (I certainly wasn’t). The quick rundown is that Amanda was a teenage girl who made the mistake of allowing herself to be seen topless online. From that moment on she was bullied and tormented by one disgusting man and several ignorant teenagers. Ultimately, it led to her suicide (after several attempts).
Prior to her suicide, she made a You Tube video, telling her story through handwritten cards that she then filmed. As Shinedown played Bully at maximum volume, the Amanda Todd video played on the screen. It was a touching, heart wrenching, amazing moment that left me breathless and near tears. It was Shinedown’s final act of a spectacular night. (If you would like to know more about Amanda Todd and her story, there is a Wikipedia page that you can check – just look up Amanda Todd on Wikipedia or Google).
I will admit that I am a little jaded with concerts in general. I attend a lot of them every year and tend to take some shows for granted, especially bands that I have seen several times. But every now and again, I see a band for the first time (or their first time headlining) and I am so amazed that I immediately want to see them again. That was the case this past Saturday with Shinedown. They immediately leaped to my top 10 bands list and I will be seeking them out in concert again. If Shinedown is heading to your town, I highly recommend that you purchase tickets for their show.

0 Another Lost Year – Better Days (2012)
Don’t judge a book by a cover. That is the first thing I think of when I listen to North Carolina Alt rockers, Another Lost Year. You see, the winged skull on the cover of Another Lost year’s album Better Days would have me believe that ALY is a metal band. I would not consider ALY’s music metal, but alternative hard rock more in vain of Candlebox, Live and Three Doors Down. They might be a little heavier than those bands, but when I listen to Better Days, these are the bands that come to mind.
Another Lost Year’s music has grown on me quite a bit over the last few weeks. There are several songs that could easily be radio singles on this album and two ( “War On The Inside” and “Writing On The Wall”) already have been.
Clinton Cunanan has a pretty solid voice, and his voice help propel my favorite tracks on Better Days including “War On The Inside”, “Broken” and “Runaway”. I don’t like it when they tread into screamo territory, but there is very little of that on this album.
Better Days also features a great duet with singer Lish Rimer on the song “Angels”. This song ought to be a big hit for Another Lost year. Check it out below!
Overall, Better Days is a solid album, and will likely get a lot of mileage on the radio for ALY. If you check out one new band in 2013, you could do a lot worse than Another Lost Year. Check them out on facebook at this link.

0 TANTRIC SIGNS WITH PAVEMENT ENTERTAINMENT; RELEASES NEW ALBUM “37 CHANNELS” ON SEPTEMBER 17th

Louisville-based eclectic rock act Tantric have just signed a deal with Pavement Entertainment and will release their eagerly awaited fifth studio album entitled ’37 Channels’ in September 17, 2013. It’s the band’s first work since their 2009 release, ‘Mind Control’.
“37 Channels” maintains Tantric’s tradition of exploring new directions by integrating diverse influences such as old school country, southern and classic rock and Motown with the trademark Tantric sound. Frontman Hugo Ferreira’s unique soulful baritone vocals, ranging from angsty rasps to melodious melancholy are once again present, along with the usual intricate guitar work and infectious riffs layered over complex textures.
Featured guests on the album include Shooter Jennings and members of Hinder, 3 Doors Down, Saving Abel and Uncle Kracker. The album title comes from what Ferreira describes as”What goes on in my brain constantly; 37 things or channels if you will, all at once vying for my attention”. Typically diverse, the track selection offers unexpected content that will surely impress, as well as something for loyal fans. This album also marks a change in Tantric’s structure, establishing it as Ferreira’s ongoing musical project and allowing more freedom for collaborations without deviating from the established Tantric sound.
Also featured on ’37 Channels’ is Leif Garrett who recorded guest vocals on the track “My Turn” in which Hugo commented, “It’s an absolute honor to have such a iconic artist such as Leif Garrett on my record. I know that his voice is cooler now than ever in my opinion. Not much more to say. I’m just honored to have him on it. Rad as [expletive,]” the band’s front man Hugo Ferreira is quoted as saying on Garrett’s website.
Check out “Mosquita,” the first single off Tantric’s new album, 37 Channels, out September 17. “Mosquita,” features Shooter Jennings and David “2B” Mouser (KNOXX, The Villebillies) on guest vocals. The track also features guitarists Kenny Olson (Kid Rock) and Kevin McCreery (Uncle Kracker), drummer Greg Upchurch (Puddle of Mudd, 3 Doors Down) and renowned pedal steel guitarist Gary Morse.
Check out the new single “Mosquita” below.

0 MAD MAX NEW ALBUM INTERCEPTOR TO BE RELEASED November 5th in North America on Steamhammer/SPV

One of Germany’s most prominent and consistent hard rock bands have just announced their next major coup: November 5th. Mad Max will be releasing their new album Interceptor, not just its title but also its cover artwork, created by Thomas Ewerhard, alluding to Mel Gibson’s legendary desert car in the movie classic Mad Max. The four musicians, Michael Voss (vocals, lead guitar), Jürgen Breforth (guitar), Roland Bergmann (bass) and Axel Kruse (drums), promise “full throttle from start to finish” and sum up the direction of their new record in just two words: “It rocks!” Or, as guitarist Jürgen Breforth puts it: “Whereas some rock groups become insipid and balladesque with time, we’ve taken the opposite route and deliver nothing but pure energy.”
Like its predecessors Interceptor was produced by frontman Michael Voss at his own Kidpool Studio in Münster, with the drum recordings completed at the renowned Principal Studios in Senden. The record was mastered at the MSM Studios in Munich, where once upon a time Gotthard added the final polish to their works. Breforth: “This time we made a conscious decision to allow ourselves more external output, yet without overdoing it.”
There are ten new songs to marvel at on Interceptor, including ´Turn It Down`, the obligatory cover song by The Sweet. “It’s what our fans are used to, so we just have to grit our teeth,” jokes Breforth.

0 BUCKCHERRY Premiere “Nothing Left But Tears” Music Video; Watch Video And Enter To Win A Guitar Signed By BUCKCHERRY; Band On Tour All Summer In America;

BUCKCHERRY have partnered with Ultimate-Guitar.com to premiere the official music video for their new single “Nothing Left But Tears” and give away an Epiphone guitar autographed by the band. Debuting today, “Nothing Left But Tears” is the first video of BUCKCHERRY’s career to not feature the band in a performance setting – instead, each of the members personifies one of the seven deadly sins… the same deadly sins that inspired the band’s new album ‘Confessions.’
“It’s evil, powerful, creepy and fun – it’s an incredible piece of art,” says BUCKCHERRY frontman Josh Todd of the video, with director Daniel Gomez adding, “we’re taking a step into the dark and seeing what happens afterwords…” Watch the video here:
Every fan that watches “Nothing Left But Tears” at the Ultimate-Guitar.com page hosting the video between now and September 13 can enter to win an Epiphone guitar autographed by BUCKCHERRY.
Says Gomez of the ambitious video project: “It opens in a roadside motel where there was a murder-suicide, and the video is the aftermath. Our character comes back from the dead and walks into a tunnel that is the pathway to hell and ends up in an ‘Alice In Wonderland’ meets ‘Dante’s Inferno’ tea party where six of the seven deadly sins are having a party in the middle of the forest – our interpretation of hell.”
Adds BUCKCHERRY guitarist Keith Nelson: “There are so many cool characters in the video, and it’s the first video where we didn’t played instruments, it was a lot of fun to do something different.”
Produced by Los Angeles-based Marco De Molina and his Veva Entertainment Company, a behind-the-scenes featurette shot throughout the making of the video can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8nGtSCZUvE
“Nothing Left But Tears” is the second single from ‘Confessions,’ BUCKCHERRY’s debut release on Century Media Records. The album was released earlier this year and has sold more than 50,000 copies on the back of hit single “Gluttony” (watch the video here). The band remain on the road all summer, culminating in an appearance at the Monster Energy Aftershock festival September 14, where they share a stage with fellow heavyweights KORN, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, VOLBEAT, IN THIS MOMENT and more.
BUCKCHERRY are also part of the HARLEY DAVIDSON 110th Anniversary celebration taking place August 29-31 in Milwaukee, WI. The three-day festival features additional performances by ZZ TOP, LYNYRD SKYNYRD, HALESTORM, JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS, DOOBIE BROTHERS, BLUE OYSTER CULT, SICK PUPPIES and dozens more, product displays, themed exhibits, and food and beverages from 43 local restaurants, all set on the scenic shores of Lake Michigan on the 75-acre Summerfest grounds. 0 Leslie West to release new studio album “Still Climbing”

Leslie West, the legendary guitarist, vocalist and original founding member of Mountain, will release a new studio album “Still Climbing” on October 28th via Provogue Records / Mascot Label Group.
Since his historic performance with Mountain at the 1969 Woodstock Festival, West has enjoyed a glittering career spanning over half a century, accomplished in spite of a life threatening battle with diabetes, which cost him his right leg in 2011 (shortly before the release of his “Unusual Suspects” album).
“I’m lucky it wasn’t one of my hands or I’d be screwed,” says West. “It was a difficult struggle, and after the amputation I didn’t know whether I’d ever want to or be able to perform again. A month later I played at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp in New York City, and I heard my guitar on stage and that was it. I knew I had to keep going.”
Looked upon by West as a sequel to “Unusual Suspects”, which featured collaborations with the likes of Slash, Zakk Wylde, Steve Lukather, Joe Bonamassa and Billy Gibbons, “Still Climbing” sees West joining forces with Jonny Lang, Johnny Winter, Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider and Alter Bridge and Creed’s Mark Tremonti.
Album Track Listing
01. Dyin’ Since The Day I Was Born (with special guest Mark Tremonti)
02. Busted, Disgusted or Dead (with special guest Johnny Winter)
03. Fade Into You

06. Feeling Good (with special guest Dee Snider)

0 Vie’s Verses – Summer’s Last Gasp For Concerts

It’s August. The dog days of summer. Baseball is waiting for September when the pennant races get exciting. Football is in pre-season that not many people pay attention too. Hockey and basketball are still weeks away from starting up. The movies are churning out the leftovers that weren’t good enough for early summer. And the summer concerts are winding down. Haven’t had a chance to take in a show this year? Worried that the season may have passed you by? Well, fear not. This edition of Vie’s Verses is dedicated to some great remaining concerts that you can still catch.

Kid Rock/ZZ Top
Want to see a show on the cheap? Do you plan on being in the Detroit area in August? Kid Rock has you covered. Rock is currently touring with ZZ Top and Uncle Kracker and they will take up a week long residence in Detroit, before heading out to other stops on the end of their summer trek. The great thing about the Kid Rock tour is that prices are intentionally low. Every ticket, regardless of where the seat is, is $20. That’s a pretty good price to see ZZ Top and Kid Rock. Rock puts on an energetic performance, and fans definitely get their money’s worth.

Shinedown
The Carnival Of Madness Tour is in full swing featuring Skillet, Papa Roach, and Shinedown as the headline act. This is a great package show that runs through mid-September and tickets are still available for most dates. Papa Roach is an incredible live act, Skillet’s new album is excellent, and Shinedown is a hard rocking band still touring in support of the magnificent Amaryllis. Tickets range between $33 to $85 and for a total of five solid bands (In This Moment and We As Human are also performing) this is a great value for a summer concert.

Alice In Chains/Jane’s Addiction
Two great bands, one great night. Alice In Chains has teamed up with Jane’s Addiction to head out on the road. Throw in Coheed and Cambria, Danko Jones, and Circa Survive and you have one heck of a festival concert. Both Alice In Chains and Jane’s Addiction have a deep catalog of hits to perform, and while I’ve never seen Alice In Chains in concert, I know that Jane’s Addiction puts on an exceptional show. I’ve also heard great things about Danko Jones’ live act. Tickets range between $30 and $128 for this package deal and the tour runs through September 15th.

Black Sabbath
Black Sabbath. The forefathers of heavy metal. One of the most notorious bands in the history of rock and roll. If you’ve never seen Black Sabbath live, now is the time to change that. Sabbath is one of those bands that have to be seen live before you (or they) die. And with the age of this band, who knows how many more (if any) tours they have in them? On their current tour, the band sounds great, they play a set list of hits, and some new songs are featured that are absolutely fabulous live in concert. Ozzy’s vocals are clean and crisp, Geezer Butler sounds great on the bass, and Tony Iommi has never played a better guitar. I was absolutely amazed by the talent this band can still bring to the stage. Tickets for this show range between $47 and $163.

Iron Maiden
Up the irons! Iron Maiden is doing a quick 7 show run through the US with Megadeth as the opening act. The band is hitting specific spots of the country, so some travel may be required, but if you have the time and the desire, Maiden makes for a great summer night live in concert. The band is still performing their Maiden England tour, which means there will be nothing but hits. It’s reliving the late 80s all over again. Words can’t even describe how incredible Iron Maiden is in concert, and if you’ve been longing for a superb summer concert, this is the one to see. Tickets range between $42 and $109. Having seen Maiden in concert several times, I can tell you that the price is worth it.
To see if any of these bands are coming near your town, visit Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com). And if none of these shows are nearby, there is no need to worry. The fall will be here before you know it bringing a great many shows of its own.

0 ICONIC CHRISTIAN ROCKERS STRYPER’S NEW STUDIO ALBUM “NO MORE HELL TO PAY” DUE OUT NOVEMBER 5TH IN NORTH AMERICA VIA FRONTIERS RECORDS

Frontiers Records is proud to announce the release of iconic Christian rockers Stryper‘s new studio album, NO MORE HELL TO PAY; the offering has been confirmed for a November 5th release in North America and will be available in two formats – standard CD and deluxe digipak featuring exclusive video content. Produced by frontman/guitarist Michael Sweet himself, the set features some of Stryper‘s strongest and heaviest material ever. Check out a special video message from Michael Sweet here. Sweet also commented, “NO MORE HELL TO PAY marks our 30 year anniversary and what a journey it has been! It’s our eleventh studio release since our first album in 1984 (THE YELLOW & THE BLACK ATTACK) and it’s quite possibly our best record to date. Why? It’s everything you might expect from a Stryper record – high octane vocals, layered vocal harmonies, guitar solos galore, driving drums and bass and an energy that hasn’t been achieved since our glory days. The message is equally as powerful as it offers hope and inspiration to anyone listening. If you’re a Stryper fan, it’ll make you proud to be one. If you’re not, listen with caution as you may actually become one. We’ve been waving the striped flag for 30 years and we’re proud to say that it’s an honor to still be making music with you and for you. The best is yet to come and it’s coming November 5th!”
Stryper is currently playing select tour dates around the nation as a warm-up for an upcoming extensive tour around the release of NO MORE HELL TO PAY. Please see below for remaining tour dates.
Stryper is one of the top Christian rock bands of all time. 1 DEF LEPPARD “VIVA! Hysteria” CD/DVD, Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital Out on Frontiers Records in October

“VIVA! Hysteria”
CD/DVD, Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital
Out on Frontiers Records in October
With 100 million records sold worldwide, Def Leppard continues to be one of the most potent forces in global rock. For the past 30 years the band has been a top box-office draw, consistently selling out arenas worldwide. October 19th 2013 sees them issue in Europe (October 18th in UK and 22nd in North America) an exciting new live release, “VIVA! Hysteria”, across multiple formats through Frontiers Records.
Originally released on the 3rd August 1987, the “Hysteria” album took the already well established Def Leppard and catapulted the band into the stratosphere.
The statistics are astounding: the album has sold in excess of 25 million copies and counting. Due to the incredible success of previous album “Pyromania” (released in 1983) and “Hysteria”, Def Leppard are one of only five groups who can claim two separate original 10 million plus selling albums in the US. The others are The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Van Halen.
The “Hysteria” album also spawned 7 hit singles! Enormous hits such as “Pour Some Sugar On Me”, “Animal”, “Love Bites”, “Armageddon It” and “Rocket” are hugely influential rock staples that still enjoy huge popularity today and have helped make Def Leppard Britain’s greatest ever arena rock band.
Produced by Robert John “Mutt” Lange, the album reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart in the U.S. and also No. 1 on the U.K. Album chart. The album has earned critical acclaim from a number of sources including Q Magazine, who voted the release as one of the greatest albums of all time, and Rolling Stone Magazine, who included the collection on their list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
For the first time ever, Def Leppard played HYSTERIA in its entirety during an eleven-show residency which started on March 22, 2013 at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel And Casino in Las Vegas. The band played also under the fictitious name of DED FLATBIRD (which came about after someone once mispronounced Def Leppard as “Dead Flat Bird”). Two different opening sets of 35 mins. on each of the nights. The band showcased some fan favourites and very rare songs from the early years of the band besides playing a selection of their greatest hits, highlighting classic material from throughout their career. The “VIVA! Hysteria” show featured an elaborate set design created uniquely for the Las Vegas residency.
“We’ve been asked for many years if we’d ever play an album in its entirety, and the answer was always no because we’d be out promoting a new album,” says lead vocalist Joe Elliott. “Then in March and April 2013 when we had no new music to promote, we had a chance to revisit arguably our most important album. It was an easy decision to make. As for Vegas, it’s no longer perceived as the place crooners go to die! Artists like Motley Crue, Elton John, Guns N Roses & Cheap Trick have recently done residencies and Rock ‘n Roll has definitely moved in! So, there was no better place for us to take the show. It was a fantastic experience for us and for our fans”
Known for legendary arena shows, Def Leppard bring their extravagant production to your house as “VIVA! Hysteria” is their first full live show shot in HD released commercially. Finally “VIVA! Hysteria” showcases for the first time a career-defining album (excluding concept albums) performed live in its entirety – from start to finish – for a commercial audio/video release. “VIVA! Hysteria”! is unlike any show Def Leppard has ever done or will ever do again. This is one release not to miss….

0 Saliva’s In It To Win it Coming September 3rd

Multi-platinum hard rockers Saliva’s brand new album IN IT TO WIN IT has now been confirmed for a September 3rd North American release date via new label home Rum Bum Records. IN IT TO WIN IT, Saliva’s eight full-length release, was produced by Bobby Huff (known for his songwriting work with Meat Loaf, Halestorm, Drowning Pool, Saliva, Papa Roach, 3 Doors Down and more).
Saliva is an American rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee in 1996. Saliva self-released their self-titled debut album in August, 1997 after competing in the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences Grammy Showcase competition, where they advanced to the final round in New York City. The album sold 10,000 copies independently, prompting record labels to take notice. Saliva signed with Island Records and went on to release six more albums with the label including the double-platinum certified EVERY SIX SECONDS, the offering which also contained their Grammy-nominated single, “Your Disease.” Saliva has enjoyed widespread success at Rock radio with such hit singles as “Always,” which nabbed the #1 spot on the Modern Rock Chart and climbed to #51 on the Billboard Hot 100.
In late 2012, Saliva signed to Rum Bum Records to begin a new phase of their already impressive career with new lead singer Bobby Amaru on board. To date, Saliva has sold millions of albums worldwide and has toured with the likes of KISS, Aerosmith, Godsmack, Sum 41, Nickelback and many more. Saliva is Bobby Amaru (vocals), Dave Novotny (bass), Paul Crosby (drums) and Wayne Swinny (guitar).

0 New video – Doogie White & La Paz – The Good Old Days

The clip contains archive band materials – original video from recording sessions and live sets in the 80s as well as part of the session when this track was recorded in 2012.
Doogie White comments: “The song tells the story and the video shows the story. We’re the best of friends still having a great time doing what we love.”
Scottish vocalist Doogie White came to the attention of the worldwide audience when Ritchie Blackmore asked him to be the lead singer in his reformed Rainbow. They recorded one album together – “Stranger in Us All.” Doogie would go on to sing with Swedish neo-classical guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen for over a six and a half year period, record two albums and tour the world. He also recorded four albums and toured with Cornerstone and is currently the lead singer of the legendary N.W.O.B.H.M. band – Tank.
La Paz were formed in Lanarkshire, Scotland in the summer of 1984 by Chic McSherry (guitars), Doogie White (vocals) and Alex Carmichael (bass). At the first rehearsal together they hit it off immediately on a personal level – they also liked the same music and they had the same influences and heroes (Purple, Rainbow, Journey, Gary Moore) so they started to recruit other members to try to form a band and go do some gigs. Andy Mason (keyboards) joined the trio and he fitted in from the start, even though he was still at school when he joined. Drummers were always a problem and, over the life of the band, La Paz went through almost as many as Spinal Tap. Unquestionably the loudest and the most accomplished was/is their current drummer, Paul McManus. La Paz played live regularly, sometimes playing up to a hundred gigs in a year. They played the world-famous Marquee Club in London as well as at some festivals in Milton Keynes and they were featured regularly in Kerrang! (Derek Oliver becoming a big fan of the band) and attracted interest from a number of UK and US record companies, finally agreeing terms with one of them for a three album deal. But it was not to be – for reasons which were never explained by the record label the deal fell through at the very last minute. Sadly the band didn’t survive for very long after that. They did their last gig on 15th October 1988 and then Doogie moved to London to join Midnite Blue, Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, Cornerstone, Yngwie Malmsteen and now the mighty Tank. And then legendary DJ Tom Russell of 96.3 Rock Radio called Doogie and asked him if he would do some acoustic numbers at The Garage in Glasgow for Rock Radio’s Birthday Bash in January 2008. Doogie agreed and asked Chic to play guitar. It was a big ask after 20 years: almost 1000 people, Doogie singing alone and Chic with one flamenco guitar! “We had such a blast though and it woke up so many great memories in both of us that we decided to give it a go with the full band for my 50th birthday” said Chic. And so the full band started to rehearse and it was clear that they could still play a bit. The band just gelled: just like old times and the gigs were a terrific success. And so the idea of re-recording some of the favorites from the set that had never had a proper production job was conceived. The final result could be heard on the album “Granite” released in early 2012. It was an album with its roots in the past but its energy in the present. And now the band return with their sophomore album entitled “The Dark and The Light”.Doogie White & La Paz – line-up:

Alex Carmichael – Bass

Paul McManus – Drums

Omaha, Nebraska based hard rockers, Emphatic have announced a September 17th release date for their sophomore album “Another Life” with Epochal Artists Records/Capitol Music Group. The album will be the first to feature new frontman Toryn Green, who was previously the singer of multi-platinum rock band FUEL and the touring vocalist for Finnish cello rock band Apocalyptica.
“This band has seen its share of difficult situations and for me I was the guy that had to decide to give up or fix what was broken. Music is in my blood so giving up isn’t an option,” said guitarist Justin McCain. “After making that decision to continue we found Toryn and he was everything I’ve ever wanted in a frontman. The record is a reflection of the trials and tribulations we went through as a band over the past couple of years.”
Produced by Emphatic guitarist Justin McCain and co-produced by Ryan Greene at Validus Recording Studios in Los Angeles, “Another Life” showcases Emphatic’s newfound sense of maturity and creative firepower as they belt out a powerful dose of groundbreaking hard rock. Rejuvenated creatively, the band is now firing on all cylinders with a line-up that matches the intensity of their songs. “Another Life” is filled with gigantic hooks, powerful melodies and is an inspiring triumph over adversity.
Emphatic are best known for their major label debut album “Damage”, which produced the hit single “Bounce”, and shot the album onto the Billboard Heatseekers charts at #9.
