TRASHBEAT DROPS A NEW TRACK, “TOYS” FOR DOWNLOAD; READIES FOR 2014 DEBUT ALBUM FT. MEMBERS OF SEX PISTOLS, BLONDIE, STRANGLERS
Trashbeat, the rock & roll brainchild of venerable bassist Steve Trash, has released a teaser track for download. “Toys” will appear on Trashbeat’s full-length album (dropping in 2014 via Major Label) which features guest appearances from members of the Sex Pistols, Blondie, and the Stranglers.
“Toys” is a chunky, beat-driven track with chiming chords and a snarling vocal attitude reminiscent of the late ‘60s-early ‘70s punk and new wave movements. With nods to Bowie, Iggy, Small Faces, Modern Lovers and such, it sounds like the next generation of rock.
The progressive hybrid of punk, glam, and alternative, Trashbeat’s sound is informed by and filtered through Trash’s music and art background. He came up in the punk/art rock movement, but also studied modern composition. Art without boundaries, figuratively and literally, as he has bases in both London and Los Angeles. His recording and touring resume includes the likes of Paul McCartney, Roy Orbison, KD Lang and Elton John as well as Stranglers, Attractions, Damned, Sex Pistols and more. He’s performed across the world, from rock dives to Live 8.
Among the legendary guests on the Trashbeat record are Hugh Cornwell, Clem Burke, Glen Matlock, and Richie Ramone. The record is produced by Trash and Arnaud Bascunana.
