1 Hard Rock Hideout’s Fresh Blood Featuring Grimm Jack
New York rockers Grimm Jack sent me the link to their new video “Damned”, and I was immediately hooked. This song is on the band’s new EP of the same name, and is available for sale at CD Baby and iTunes. I was dumbfounded to find that this band started out in the 80’s. I don’t know why it took so long to hear Grimm Jack’s music. It just goes to show you how unkind the music industry is. Judging from “Damned” and the other songs I have listened to, Grimm Jack is going to be a band to keep an eye on.
For more information on Grimm Jack, please visit the band’s website. Check out the band’s clips “Damned” and “Can’t Stand Another Day” .
3 Hard Rock Hideout’s Fresh Blood Featuring Pompei Nights
Pompei Nights is the latest hard rock export from (you guessed it) Sweden. Judging from the clips I have heard from their recently released CD, Rather Die Than Livin’ In Boundaries, Pompei Nights could have a pretty big year amongst the sleaze metal fans out there. Don’t take my word for it, check out their video clip for their song, “Midnight Mistress” below, or visit the band’s myspace page where you can hear additional tracks for the CD. If you like what you hear, you download the songs at Amazon.com, or if you are old school (like me) and prefer a CD, you can get one at the Street Sypmhonies store online at this link.
1 Hard Rock Hideout’s Fresh Blood Featuring Cherri Bomb
If you want to hear a band with loads of potential, you have to check Cherri Bomb from Los Angeles. This kick-ass quartet of talented and good looking women just released a brand new three song EP, “Stark”. Judging from the songs I have listened to, the future is going to be very bright for this band. You don’t have to take my word for it, you can download the “Stark” EP for FREE at the Cherri Bomb website. Cherri Bomb hasn’t only caught my attention. Former Hole and Motley Crue drummer Samantha Maloney is managing the band, and they have been signed by Hollywood Records. Give them a shot, I think you will like them. I do! If Facebook is your thing, you can LIKE them here. Tonight at 7:30 P.M., you can watch the band practice on their Facebook UStream link. Check them out!!
You can view Cherri Bomb’s video “Spin Around” below!
0 Hard Rock Hideout’s Fresh Blood Featuring King Hell
I hear bands compare themselves to Metallica all of the time. I don’t hear many bands calling themselves a combination of Metallica and Parliament. Needless to say, New York City’s King Hell got my attention with that description in their bio. Their music is a funky, punky metal blast that is certainly worth checking out.
If you visit the band’s Reverbnation page, you can free downloads of their songs “WTF” and “Bad Mofo”, plus check out a snippet of their reworking of Duran Duran’s “Hungry Like A Wolf”. Visit their Reverbnation page for more info at this link.
You can check out the video clip for their song “Brooklyn” below.
0 Hard Rock Hideout’s Fresh Blood Featuring Glitzy Glow
I am now convinced that half the population of Sweden play musical instruments. There have been so many bands coming out of Sweden in the last two years, it certainly seems that way. Sweden’s latest export Glitzy Glow has a sound that mixes class rock and glam metal. The thing that makes Glitzy Glow stand out against their peers are the vocals of lead singer Julia. Julia’s strong voice gives the band a 70’s vibe on some tunes, and yet she can rock out with the best of them.
You can hear the music from Glitzy Glow on myspace and on the Hard Rock Hideout Radio Show. The band has two songs available for download via iTunes here. Check them out!
0 Hard Rock Hideout’s Fresh Blood Featuring The Black Saints
Milwaukee is probably best known for the beers that are brewed there, not it’s hard rock scene. There is a new hard rock band, The Black Saints, that could change all of that soon. The Black Saints have only been together since 2009, but their music speaks for itself. The Black Saints play the type of hot & sleazy rock n’ roll that the readers of Hard Rock Hideout are going to love.
The band is getting the attention of radio stations all over the United States, including our very own Hard Rock Hideout Radio show. If you tuned in Wednesday Night, you heard the band’s kick ass song “Rock It Away”, and will likely be hearing a lot more from this band in the near future. The Black Saints have recently released a new EP, All Sinners Welcome, and are giving away a free download of their new single, “Dead Man Walking” just for become a fan on Facebook! You can pick up their EP on iTunes, and at CD Baby! One thing is for certain, you will definitely want to check out The Black Saints. This band rocks!
Vodpod videos no longer available.0 Hard Rock Hideout’s Fresh Blood – Sin 4 Sin
Baltimore, Maryland’s Sin 4 Sin recently sent us a copy of their new EP, 7 Deadly. Prior to receiving this CD, I haven’t heard of Sin 4 Sin before, so I had no expectations going into this CD. The opening song “Love Vice” quickly establishes the band’s influences of Guns N’ Roses & Skid Row, and shows a lot of promise for these Maryland rockers.
“Love Vice”, and “Fast, Hot Sleazy” are easily the best tunes on 7 Deadly. Both songs rock hard! You can hear a Sebastian Bach like growl with singer Brandon Hayden! I am glad to hear Hayden take some chances with his voice, and add some metal screams, instead of taking the easy way out like so many modern rock bands today.
Do I dare say that “I Quit Drinking (Again)” reminds me of the Beastie Boys? This song oscillates between heavy riffs, and a talking lyric by Brandon Hayden. It isn’t my favorite song on this EP, but this tune does get in my head.
The song title “She Can Pay the Bills in Ones” made me laugh the first time I read it. I bet you can guess what this song is about! This song reminds me a lot of the band The Last Vegas. With a little better production, Sin 4 Sin could have a hit on their hands with this tune.
Hopefully, 7 Deadly will get in the hands of some producers that can help out Sin 4 Sin. This band has a lot of potential. A few minor tweaks, here and there, and we could have another major hard rock band rockin’ the airwaves and concert halls!
Check out Sin 4 Sin on myspace, and facebook!

1 Fresh Blood Featuring Glyder
This week Fresh Blood makes our first trip to Ireland to check out a Ballyknockan four piece known as Glyder. Formerly known as H*llyw**d, the band rechristened themselves as Glyder in 2004. Glyder consists of Tony Cullen (Vocals and Bass), Bat Kinane (Guitars and Backing Vocals), Pete Fisher (Guitars),and Davy Ryan (Drums) have taken their Thin Lizzy influenced brand of classic rock to new heights with each new release, starting with their self titled debut followed by “Playground For Life” and an E.P. “Weather The Storm”. Glyder has also toured across Europe with some of the biggest names in rock including Gotthard, Thunder, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Motley Crue, Velvet Revolver, and Metallica just to name a few. They are currently preparing for the release of their third full length album “Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow”, and judging by the growth displayed with each previous release, the new album may finally be the one to garner the band world wide attention.
With such songs as “That Line”, “Gamblers Blues”, “Jack Strong”, and “Pretty Useless People”, the band’s songwriting skills also offer proof that real talent and skill will always out last the latest musical trends. Fans of not only Thin Lizzy, but also Blue Oyster Cult, Gary Moore, Deep Purple, and even early Iron Maiden will want to get their hands on Glyder’s music. Glyder’s music is available from I-Tunes, emusic.com, as well as cdbaby.com. You can also visit the band’s myspace to preview tracks or their website. Glyder is definitely a thrill ride you do not want to miss.
0 Fresh Blood Featuring The Driving Conditions
AC/DC, Rose Tattoo, Airbourne, the Angels, the Poor all play Australian Pub Rock at it’s best, and now you can add Brisbane’s the Driving Conditions to that list. Any fan of the above mentioned bands or Rhino Bucket should definitely check this four-piece out immediately if not sooner!! Made up of Woody (Lead Vocals), Nathan Ward (Guitars), Sol Freeman (Bass), and Dave “Stapleguns” Stapleton on drums have been together since 2005 when brothers in law Nathan and Sol formed Nathan Ward’s Driving Conditions and released their debut album a rootsy flavored “NWDC”, but wanting to add more of a rock edge the guys brought in Woody on vocals followed by drummer Dave Stapleton to complete the line up and rechristened themselves the Driving Conditions.
2007 saw the release of the band’s debut EP simply titled, Rock n Roll. Recorded by legendary Geordie Leach “Rock n Roll” captured that authentic Aussie Rock sound reminiscent of bands like Rose Tattoo, ACDC and The Angels, which is very evident on such songs as “Rock n Roll”, “STR8 2 Hell”, “Black Hawk Down”, and “Better Off Dead”, all in your face straight up rockers that will get you going like a swift kick in the ass. The guys have toured Australia with big name Australian acts as Jimmy Barnes, The Angels, The Radiators, Dallas Crane and Rose Tattoo but now they are getting ready to set their sites on the U.S. and Europe with the upcoming release of “Full Throttle” in Sept.
You can check out the Driving Conditions at their myspace page or you can visit the band at www.thedrivingconditions.com where you can also purchase “Rock n Roll” for about $13.00 USD.
1 Hard Rock Hideout’s Fresh Blood Featuring Razorbliss
What is it about Columbus, OH and the music scene there that keeps us coming back for more? Fresh Blood makes its third trip to Columbus in 2009, this time it is to unleash the five piece known as Razorbliss onto the masses.
Comprised of Randy Razor (vocals), Tommy “T-Bone” Caradonna (Bass/Programming), the twin guitar attack of Mark Nye & Drake Tulloh, and last but not least Matt Mees (Drums) Razorbliss is a modern hard rock band with just enough industrial thrown in to give you one of the most enjoyable ass kickings you will ever receive and leave you begging for more. Imagine if you can Alice Cooper with some Dope thrown in and you can get a picture of what I’m talking about.
Razorbliss recently released their second album “American Gomorrah”, which is the follow-up to their 2006 debut “Comedy of Errors” and one listen to pounding but catchy “The Mark That You Leave” is all it will take to make you a Razorbliss addict, but when you add such tracks as the driving rhythm of “Brand New Creature” or the haunting “Melt” you will find yourself becoming a full blown junkie.
Razorbliss will definitely appeal to fans of such acts as Dope, Marilyn Manson, and even Nine Inch Nails, but the melodic side of the band will appeal to hard rock fans as well. Keep your eyes and ears open because I think you will be hearing big things about Razorbliss in the very near future.
You can preview Razorbliss on myspace and you can purchase the band’s debut “Comedy of Errors on cdbaby
Check out the Razorbliss video clip, “Love Me” below.
0 Hard Rock Hideout’s Fresh Blood Featuring Eruption
England’s Eruption is a four piece that comes to us by way of Brisbane Australia, made up of Darren Grant (Vocals), Santi Rigolizio (Guitar), Lee Golledge (Drums), and Nick Power (Bass) this Italian Aussie band came together in 2003 after Santi Rigolizio moved to Australia from Italy with hopes of breaking in to the Australian music scene. After placing a few ads in the local newspapers Rigolizio finally got a call from Darren Grant and the seeds of Eruption were planted.
The next 6 years saw the band go through numerous members and two different names, Mobstar and Daz Rigo, before the band signed with Escape Music and changed their name to Eruption.
Eruption’s debut is titled “All Screwed Up” and is chock full of 80’s inspired hard rock with some great playing and background vocals. Darren Grant is a powerhouse whiskey and cigarette type of vocalist, but Santi Rigolizio is an absolute monster on guitar. Give such tracks as “Bad Girl”, “Naive”, and “Reflection” a listen and it is easy to hear.
You can check Eruption out at www.myspace.com/eruption2009 and “All Screwed Up” is available for purchase from www.nehrecords.com, www.cdbaby.com, www.aorheaven.com, and www.escape-music.com.
2 HRH Fresh Blood Featuring Cockpit
What do Judas Priest, Kiss, Motorhead, AC/DC, & Hanoi Rocks have in common? Yes they are all some of the biggest bands in the world, but besides the obvious they are also all influences for L.A.’s Cockpit and boy did these ladies learn their lessons from the best, taking a piece from each band and putting it all together to make their own brand of in your face rock n’ roll.
Yes I said ladies, this four piece is made up of Linda Lou (vocals & guitar), Terrii Kiing (bass), Alicia Blu (guitar), and Rachel Rine (drums) and they are turning heads in more ways than one. But I can almost bet if you called them a girl band one of them would punch you in the face and keep on walking.
Cockpit came together at the end of 2003 and built their reputation and support from their raucous live shows, that eventually landed the band opening slots for a number of nationally known acts, along with a slot at Rocklahoma 2008 and a spot onstage for all four days of the inaugural Bayou Festival in Houston.
On their debut 5 track e.p. appropriately titled “Mission To Rock” Cockpit is taking no prisoners with such tracks as “Guns For Hire”, “White Flag”, “At A Loose End”. There are no sappy power ballads, no Richard Marx penned tunes but there are plenty of loud smoking guitars, powerhouse drums, and dirty, filthy bass lines not to mention Linda Lou’s arena ready vocals.
If you are ready for a wild ride jump on board and let Cockpit give you the ride of your life at www.myspace.com/cockpit or www.ilovecockpit.com. “Mission To Rock” is also available on I-Tunes.
You can also check out Cockpit’s video, “Gun For Hire” at this link.
0 Hard Rock Hideout’s Fresh Blood Featuring Hell City Glamours
Hell City Glamours are no strangers to readers of HRH as we have reviewed both of their E.P.s and full length debut late last year. But this quartet from Sydney, Australia grow on me more and more as I listen to their music. Made up of Oscar McBlack – Vocals & Guitar, Mo Mayhem – Guitar & Vocals, Robbie Potts – Drums, and Jonny – Bass & Vocals having been banging out Rolling Stones and Hanoi Rocks flavored pub rock mixed with some punk rock energy and attitude for the last seven years. They have shared the stages in Australia with the likes of Hardcore Superstar, Alice Cooper, Brides of Destruction, along with countless other acts.
After releasing a 7″ and two successful e.p.s HCG released their full length self titled debut last fall. From the opening tracks “One Night Only” and “Back To You” to such songs as “Ready To Fall” and “I’m Not Here” Catchy, radio ready but still in your face with just enough swagger and attitude the guys are out to prove they can rock with the best and they do just that. If you are growing tired of all the modern hard rock bands out today, Hell City Glamours may be just the band for you.
You can give them a listen at www.myspace.com/hellcityglamours or by visiting www.hellcityglamours.com. You can also purchase their album and both e.p.s from I-Tunes and Amazon along various other digital music stores. Hell City Glamours definitely worth the money spent for their music.
0 Fresh Blood Featuring Big Engine
Rolling out of Jacksonville, Fl comes a four piece known as Big Engine with their brand of straight up in your face kick ass southern party rock n roll. Made up of founder Tony Mikus (lead vocals & guitar), Hans Oellerich (guitar & vocals), Benny Puckett (drums), and Ryan Wilcox (bass), once known as the Motion, the band has been known as Big Engine since 1990 with Mikus being the primary member and the others have joined at different times over the years. The band has released upwards of ten albums plus a live dvd, played thousands of shows all across the U.S. on their way to becoming one of the most well known and popular bands in the Southeast.
With one listen to Big Engine’s latest release “That Girl” you will be hooked by such songs as “That Girl’s A Freak”, “Kings Of The Rock-N-Roll Crowd”, and “What I’ve Waited For”. The first two songs are straight up rock songs that will have you singing along and you are pounding drinks down at the bar while “What I’ve Waited For” has a more modern rock feel but still great nonetheless, with some great bass by Ryan Wilcox. Once you throw in other songs such as “Give It To Me”, “Shake My Soul”, “Wasted”, and “No Money” you are in for one hell of a rocking time.
You can find Big Engine online at www.myspace.com/bigenginerocks or www.bigengine.com You can join them on Reverb Nation at www.reverbnation.com/bigengine and you can buy a digital copy of “That Girl” at www.digstation.com/artistalbums.aspx among other places.

0 Fresh Blood Featuring Airless
Hailing from Bilboa, Spain comes a melodic rock 4 piece known as Airless who released their third album “Fight” in December of ’08. Airless is comprised of Robert Rodriguez (guitars), Iñaki Lazakano (vocals) and the rhythm section of Miguel Manjón (bass) and Pako Martinez (drums). Airless formed in 2002 and released their self titled debut in June of the same year. A little under 3 years later the guys returned with their second release titled “2nd Round” bringing even more attention to these Spainards and opening the doors for them to tour with the likes of Tyketto, Riot, and DARE. 2008 saw the release of the band’s third release “Fight” which took the sound of the guys in a slightly harder edge direction trying to capture the energy and rawness of their live show.
For fans of big choruses, melodies, and excellent guitar Airless offers it all plus more, with a sound that mixes a little Firehouse with a little Dokken. There are a few songs on “Fight” where Iñaki Lazakano reminds me of a young Don Dokken, especially on the track “Blame (The Darkness Part II). Rodriguez can hold his own with just about any guitarist in music today while Miguel Manjón and Pako Martinez are as tight as can be as a rhythm section. Other stand out tracks include “Don’t Give Up”, “Now or Never”, and “Crying For Your Love”.
You can check out Airless for yourself at www.myspace.com/airlessrock or www.airless.es “Fight” is also available through most digital and retail outlets including Lion Music, Amazon, and others.
0 HRH Fresh Blood Featuring Electric Mary
This week we head down under to check out the Melbourne five piece known as Electric Mary. The band came together in 2003 when singer Rusty Brown and guitarist Irwin Thomas met, later adding second guitarist Pete Robinson, bassist Alex Raunjak, and drummer Venom to the mix. Blues based, 70’s inspired pub rock with heavy doses of “Coverdale era” Deep Purple, Free, and Bad Company thrown in is how I would describe Electric Mary’s sound. After releasing two e.p.’s in ’04 and ’06 the guys have just released their full length debut titled “Down To The Bone”. If the first two tracks off the album “Let Me Out” and “No One’s Does It Better Than Me” doesn’t get your heart pumping and feet stomping then you need to go see the doctor because you’re probably considered legally dead. When you add other stompers such as “One Foot In The Grave”, “Sorry”, “Crashdown” and “Luv Me” you are in for a seriously good time.
Electric Mary have toured Australia with Whitesnake, Judas Priest and are gearing up to support Jon Lord on his next trip down under. After making fans out such people as David Coverdale, Iron Maiden’s Adrian Smith, and “Little” Steven Van Zandt, the guys in Electric Mary are ready to take on the rest of the world and they are definitely on the right road. By the way if you are wondering where the band came up with their name, I’m sure Mary Campbell, the studio manager for the legendary Electric Lady Studios in New York could help you out with that story.
You can check out Electric Mary at www.myspace.com/electricmary and “Down To The Bone” is available on I-Tunes and Amazon.com You can also purchase “Down To The Bone” from the band’s myspace page.
0 HRH Fresh Blood Featuring Pleasure Maker
This week for Hard Rock Hideout’s “Fresh Blood” we are taking a trip down south, I mean way down south as in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to check out the band Pleasure Maker. The band first came together in 2001 in Rio de Janeiro as a follow-up to a Bon Jovi cover band by the name of New Jersey. The band which is now made up of Alex Meister (Guitars), C. Marshall (Vocals), Andy Starr (Bass), Sandro Rossi (Keyboards), and Adriano Morais (Drums) plays 80’s inspired hard rock that you would expect from a band that is heavily influenced by such bands as Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Danger Danger, and Winger.
Pleasure Maker has released two albums 2002’s “Love on the Rocks” and the 2008 follow-up “Twisted Desire”. Songs such as “Come N’ Get It”, “What We Left Behind”, “Is There A Doctor In The House”, and “Eden’s Fruit” will make any fan of 80’s hard rock proud with the scorching solos, keyboards galore, and great gang backing vocals.
You can check out Pleasure Maker by going to www.myspace.com/pleasuremakerrocks or www.pleasuremaker.com “Twisted Desire” is available for purchase from www.perrisrecords.com, www.metalmayhem.com, www.NEHRecords.com and CDBaby.com among others.
0 HRH Fresh Blood Featuring Free Spirit
Free Spirit is the latest Scandinavian rock n’ roll import. Hailing from Finland this six piece is just beginning to make waves in the rock world as the winner of the Garage Countdown contest with their video “Until the Night”., which was viewed over 82 000 times. Mixing Celtic and folk music with Melodic/AOR, Free Spirit are carving out their own niche in the rock world with the release of their album “Pale Sister of Light”, the band’s first full length album.
Sami Alho (vocals), Pasi Koivumäki (drums), the original founding members started Free Spirit with the idea to bring melodies, harmonies and breathtaking songs back to rock music instead of being one of those bands where a group of angry men try to shout out that they have “the attitude”. The current line-up also consisting of Vesa Yli-Mäenpää (guitars), Sami Hämäläinen (bass), Marko Haapamäki (guitar), and Timo Alho (keyboards) has been together since 2006.
With such songs as Strangers, Far Away From Heaven, Preacher Man, and Moonlight Ride, “Pale Sister of Light” take you through the real world, dream and illusion, with a sound that is filled with melodies, harmonies, and tight musicianship as it brings you to the roots of nature and its mighty scenery.
You can preview Free Spirit at www.myspace.com/freespiritrock.You can also buy “Pale Sister of Light at various digital outlets including Amazon.com and Cdon.com. You can also visit the band’s website at www.freespiritrock.com
1 HRH Fresh Blood Featuring The Last Vegas
The Last Vegas seen to have everything needed to be called “the Next Big Thing”. This 5 piece from Chicago, IL won the Guitar Center/Motley Crue “Make Rock History” contest last year, was named Spin Magazine’s Chief Editor’s “Best Discovery” at SXSW and even won the RedOctane “Be A Guitar Hero” in 2006 in which their song “Raw Dog” was included on the Guitar Hero II video game. But the band comprised of Adam D’Arling (Guitar), Chad Cherry (Vocals), Nathan Arling (Drums), Danny Smash (Bass), and John Wator (Guitar) are anything but an overnight sensation. They have been releasing music since 2004 with their debut “Lick ‘Em and Leave ‘Em”. They have followed that with 2 more albums, an E.P., endless touring and are preparing for the release of their new album “Whatever Gets You Off” with the help from producers DJ Ashba, Marti Frederiksen, and Nikki Sixx. They play a modern sounding 70’s glam punk inspired rock with a touch of sleaze, filled with in your face attitude the band uses to grab your attention whether you want them to or not.
On songs such as “I’m Bad”, “High Class Trash”, “So Young, So Pretty, So What”, “Loose Lips” or “Room At The Top” you will find yourself unable to resist singing along or stomping your feet along with Arling’s drums. Only time will tell if the Last Vegas really are the Next Big Thing but they seem to have the determination and the goods and with a management deal from 10th Street Entertainment and a label deal from Eleven Seven Music they are definitely on the right road.
If you haven’t already heard the Last Vegas you can check them out at www.myspace.com/thelastvegas or take a trip to www.thelastvegas.com You can also purchase the band’s music from I-Tunes and Amazon, believe me you will not be disappointed.
0 HRH Fresh Blood Featuring Stolen Order
Called by some as Scotland’s answer to Guns N’ Roses from Inverness, Scotland comes Stolen Order. Comprised of Toby Michaels(Vocals), Jonny Gash and James Dice(Guitars), El Minge(Bass) and Dan Carson(Drums), this five piece has been together starting their own rock revolution since 2005 when fed up and disappointed with the state of music the guys decided to put together something they felt the music industry needed, some fun loving hard rock. The guys began writing music and lyrics, not to change the world, but music they enjoy and that others would enjoy too. Music for the rock world to party to all night long.
Stolen Order has toured Scotland extensively opening for such bands as Therapy?, Bullets and Octane, Wishbone Ash and Heavens Basement, among others and have also played such festivals as the Belladrum and Skye Festivals. With the 2008 release of their e.p. “Whatever It Takes” the band hopes to open new doors not only to the rest of Britain, but Europe also and eventually the rest of the world. With such songs as “Love Money”, “Can’t Complain”, “Let’s Get The Feeling”, and “The Bitch Is Gone” is shouldn’t be long before fans across the world are joining Stolen Order’s revolution.
You can check out Stolen Order and their music by visiting http://www.stolenorder.com/, http://www.reverbnation.com/stolenorder or www.myspace.com/stolenorderband
1 HRH Fresh Blood Featuring Archer
From Santa Cruz, CA with a sound somewhat similiar to Black Label Society and taking influences from Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Judas Priest, and Ozzy Osbourne comes Archer. This three man band consisting of Guitarist/Vocalist Dylan, bassist Isiah, and Duke T on drums have a huge sound for a trio. A blend of the best in past and present styles, brought to life seething with pure energy. On their album “Doomsday Profits” all of those influences shine through on such songs as “the Man Who Knows All”, “Pride Before The Fall”, “Brewtality” and “Van Salem”.
Archer won “Best Local Band 2008” in the Metro Santa Cruz Goldies Awards, and played in the 2008 Sweden Rock Festival. The guys have played with everyone from Heart and Blue Oyster Cult to Heaven & Hell and Testament. Archer is scheduled to be a part of Black Label Society’s “Black Label Bash” with BLS & Dope when it hits the Pacific Northwest and Canada in March.
You can buy “Doomsday Profits” at http://cdbaby.com/cd/archernation2 and you can check Archer out at http://www.myspace.com/archer or the band’s website Archer Nation here.
0 HRH Fresh Blood Featuring Hope
Here comes another Swedish band ready to hit the shores of the USA. Hope, which hails from Goteberg and is comprised of Henkan Thomsen on bass & lead vocals, Mats Johanson on guitar, and drummer Imre Daun. The guys in Hope all have almost 30 years of playing, studio, and touring with various performers behind them but their album “All of My Days” is their band debut. Hope will definitely draw comparisons to Canadian Bryan Adams and Norweigan legends the Stage Dolls. Thomsen’s vocals sound alot like both Adams and Torstein Flakne and like I said before the bands sound follows suit. Hope should by no means be considered metal and I would be even hard pressed to call them hard rock, but regardless the guys, along with the help of respected musician Jim Jidhead ( Alien) know how to write good catchy mid tempo songs that do rock and and a sound that just flows effortlessly. If you are a fan of Bryan Adams or Stage Dolls, Hope will definitely have the songs to tickle your ears.
You can check out the band and their songs at http://www.myspace.com/hopehenkan You can purchase “All of My Days” at various online retailers including NEH Records by visiting http://www.nehrecords.com/SHOP/HopeAll.htm
2 HRH Fresh Blood Featuring The Carburetors
High speed, pedal to the metal, and in your face could be three phrases to describe Oslo Norway’s “the Carburetors”. Five years after releasing their debut album “Pain Is Temporary Glory Is Forever” this five piece made up of Eddie Guz on vocals, guitarists Kai Kidd and Stian Krough, bassist King O’Men, and drummer Johnny Nitro, are starting to gain attention of music fans around the world and rightfully so with their brand of punk n’ roll that falls somewhere between Motorhead and Social Distortion while also taking influences from Judas Priest and Rose Tattoo. On their new release “Rock N’ Roll Forever” the guys proudly wear their influences on their sleeves with such tracks as “Terrified”, “Burnout”, “Buckle Up”, and “the Whole Town Is Shakin'” and definitely live up to all three descriptions I mentioned before. If you like your rock straight up and in your face with no flash or nonsense “the Carburetors” are custom made for you. Check them out at www.myspace.com/carburetors or www.thecarburetors.com you won’t be disappointed.
0 HRH Fresh Blood Featuring Surefire Machine
Surefire Machine is based out of Toronto Canada. Comprised of Rail Road Wilson vocals/guitar, guitarist Zeke, Bones Bowman on bass, and Jonny Fantastic on drums. The roots of Surefire Machine go back to 2004 when Rail Road and Zeke got into a fight with each other. After releasing two e.p.’s and touring Western Canada with their former band Tarbender, the guys decide to head east to Toronto where they eventually hooked up with Bowman and Fantastic and Surefire Machine was born. The guys released their debut self titled album late last year and an ass kicking it is.
If you are looking for soft and sweet ballads you’ll need to keep on looking because you will not find that with these guys. But songs like “Blue Bloods”, “Hot Leaded Woman”, “Trucker’s Trade” and “69 Nova” are guaranteed to get your blood pumping and your head banging. The best way to describe Surefire Machine’s sound is ZZ Top meets Lynyrd Skynyrd with Lemmy from Motorhead on vocals. You can check out songs from their debut and download their album for free by visiting www.myspace.com/surefiremachine.
You can also visit http://www.surefiremachine.com/to get all the latest news for the band. If you like your rock n’ roll loud, in your face, with plenty of attitude, Surefire Machine is just the band for you.
0 HRH Fresh Blood Featuring Marvel
In a recent interview with Badmouthers Chris LeMon and Randy Joy the Swedish band Marvel came up during the conversation, so of course I had to investigate. What I found out about Marvel is hard to explain. With the sound of 70’s glam mixed with 90’s garage and every imaginable influence between the two Marvel have an original sound and are definitely a band hard to classify into one genre.
This trio from Linkoping, Sweden actually got together here in the U.S. when members John Steen, Ulrik Bostedt and Tony Samuelsson met in 2002 were all exchange students in Colorado. After releasing three singles the band put out their first album “Five Smell City” in ’05 and followed that with an e.p. “Unleashed” in ’06.
The masked musicians newest album “Thunderblood Heart” has been available worldwide since Feb. ’08. You can check out their version of high energy rock ‘n roll at www.myspace.com/marveltheband or by visiting http://www.marvel.nu
You can also purchase “Five Smell City”, “Unleashed”, and “Thunderblood Heart” on I-Tunes.
Words can not do this band justice, Marvel is a band that must be heard to be understood and appreciated.

0 HRH Fresh Blood Featuring Snowblynd
Here is the simple truth, any band that has the balls to cover David Allan Coe’s “The Ride” is going to get my attention. I am either going to laugh and then curse the band for screwing up one of the best songs in the history of music or I am going to sit in awe and applaud the band for delivering a worthy version. Fortunately for Columbus Ohio’s Snowblynd I am applauding them, not only do they deliver a worthy version, they deliver a killer version. Now until a week ago I had never heard the term “Motor City Dixie”, but it is fast becoming my favorite saying thanks to Snowblynd. These guys maybe from the midwest but they know how to play some great southern rock. Vocalist Brad Williams, guitarists Gregory Wylde and Smitty, along with bassist Joe Viers, drummer Barry Damron, and on Hammond B3 Organ Nate “Ass” Hollman sound like they walked right out of the swamps and into the rock n roll spotlight on their ’07 release “Dirty Water”.
After hearing “Dirty Water”, “Little Miss Misery”, and “Blood, Guts, & Gasoline” on the bands’ myspace page I knew I had to buy this album and damn was I glad I did. It is filled with some damn good sleazy Southern rock from beginning to end and Snowblynd are not afraid to wear their influences on their sleeve. The Black Crowes, Lynyrd Skynyrd, a little Buckcherry, it is all here on “Dirty Water” not only with the four songs I’ve already mentioned but also on tracks like “Carry On”, “Lust N’ Liquor”, “Cryin’ Shame”, “She Believed” & “One Time Ain’t Enough”. There is not one disappointing song on “Dirty Water”, it has me already looking forward to the next Snowblynd album. Hopefully I won’t have to wait long.

Snowblynd is one band fans of Southern rock do not want to miss out on.

1 Hard Rock Hideout’s “Fresh Blood” – Heaven’s Basement
Welcome to the first edition of Hard Rock Hideout’s “Fresh Blood”. We are going to introduce everyone to some new and up and coming bands that we think will be making some noise in the near future. For our first edition we have from the U.K., Heaven’s Basement, AC/DC once sang “It’s A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘N Roll)” and these guys have exemplified that statement. Comprised of vocalist Richie Hevanz, guitarists Sid Glover and Jonny Rocker, and the rhythm section of drummer Chris Rivers and bassist Rob Randell. They were first known as Hurricane Party and issued their debut e.p. “Get This” in 2004. But out of respect to the victims of Hurricane Katrina changed their name to Roadstar and released two albums Grand Hotel in ’06 and followed up with Glass Mountain in ’07. The story supposedly goes that after a disagreement with their previous management team they were forced not only to change their name but quit playing their previous catalog of songs. Now the guys are back with a new name, but the with same sound and same great songwriting displayed on their previous releases. “Tear Your Heart Out”, “Executioner’s Day”, “Saint Routine”, “Reign On My Parade” and “I’ll Never Write A Love Song” are just a few of the great songs these guys have put together, you can check these songs and more at http://www.myspace.com/heavensbasementofficial or you can check the band out at http://www.heavensbasement.com where you can order the band’s e.p. and listen to more songs not posted on the band’s myspace page.
