Adrenaline Mob 2014

Yesterday on the I-93 in New Hampshire on the way to Quebec City for their show with Avenged Sevenfold and Hellyeah the members and crew from ADRENALINE MOB suffered a near fatal car crash.  The accident destroyed the band’s gear and their van.  Fortunately, everyone survived and the injuries are temporary.

At this point the band is forced to cancel the tour and return home to recover and rest.  Remaining shows were with Avenged Sevenfold and Hellyeah as well as headlining shows up until June 8.

The band band made this statement on their Facebook page:

“We are sad to announce that the band has been in a serious accident yesterday traveling to Canada on the current A7X/Hellyeah Tour. The band & crew are pretty beat up but by the grace of God there’s no serious injuries & everyone is ok. Unfortunately the trailer flipped & equipment has been destroyed but they are figuring out the next move in hopes to continue on. Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts & prayers!!!”

0 M3 Rock Festival – Saturday Review Part 1

M3 2014 042614-71

After a fantastic night of hard rock on Friday night, it was going to take a lot to top Friday night’s performances.

One big surprise this year was the new permanent side stage that was erected for this and other festival shows.  The new second stage is far bigger than the original side stage at M3, and its placement at the base of a hill gave a better vantage point for the fans in attendance.  This was the beginning of a day of surprises at M3.

When the M3 Rock Festival began late Saturday morning, Heavens Edge quickly set the stage with a blistering performance of their biggest songs, most of which came from their outstanding 1990 debut.  Much to my surprise, this wasn’t a bunch of hired hands playing with Heaven’s Edge singer Mark Evans, this was the original band.  Evans voice was in perfect form, and Reggie Wu was delivering with all of these heavy riffs that I expected from Heaven’s Edge. I have always loved this band, and thought their debut was severely underrated.  Their debut album/CD has been reissued for Rock Candy records, and I highly recommend that you check it out.

Shortly after Heavens Edge’s set, KEEL was ready to rock on the main stage, and they came out all guns firing.  Ron Keel looked and sounded great, as did Marc Ferrari, Brian Jay, and company.  One of my favorite KEEL albums is their 1987 self titled disc on MCA records.  Needless to say I was very happy to hear “Somebody’s Waiting”, but I would have loved to have heard a couple of more from this album.  KEEL’s set was way too short in my opinion, but they were great, and I enjoyed their music.

Next up on the second stage was former The Scream, Union and Motley Crue front man John Corabi.  I had no expectations with John’s set whatsoever, but I have never seen him live, and was greatly looking forward to his set.  I thought he may just do his acoustic thing that he has been doing in the clubs, but he had with him a full electric band.  John’s set list made me very happy.  I was excited to hear one of my all time favorites”Man in the Moon” (from the Scream), and lost Motley Crue tunes “Uncle Jack” and “Hooligan’s Holiday”.   It is a shame that Motley Crue has forgotten about that great album with John Corabi.  I am so glad that Corabi still does this music.  I really dig Corabi’s new look too.

On the main stage, Jack Russell’s Great White was next, and this was another band that my expectations were kind of low on.  I gotta say, Jack Russell’s Great White is far better than I expected them to be.  While I thought Jack Russell was looking a little frail on stage, his voice was in great form, and I gotta give him a lot of credit.  This version of Great White may not have all of the original members, but I gotta say this version sounds the most like the band I remember from my late teens and beyond.  I don’t know where Jack Russell found his guitarist Robby Lochner, but this guy is great, and a lot of fun to watch perform.  Kudos to Great White for bringing it at M3, and putting on a great show. I hope I can catch this band live again soon.

Femme Fatale is another band that I never got to see back in the day. I still remember the day when I found their out of print CD in a local record shop. I squealed like a school girl when I found it.   I was tickled to death to see Lorraine Lewis and company perform.  This was obviously not the original band.  Lorraine brought an all female band with her and I gotta say they definitely rocked.  Lorraine Lewis was having a great time, and the fans seemed to love the band’s set as much as I did.

Moving back to the main stage was Stryper.  I still remember their last appearance at M3 vividly, and I was kind of miffed by their shortened set that year.  2014 made up for that show with a longer set. Of course I gotta hear a bunch of my Styper favorites including “To Hell With The Devil”, “Soldiers Under Command”, “Free”, “Calling On You”. One of the nice surprises, was Stryper doing a a cover of “Shout It Out Loud” from KISS.  I love their version on their CD The Covering, but it was awesome to see them do this live.  Stryper set was one of the highlights at the 2014 M3 Rock Festival, but the best performances of the day were yet to come.

More on those later in our Saturday Review part 2.

0 M3 Rock Festival – Friday Review

M3 2014 042514-24

Last Friday night, the M3 Rock Festival started its Friday night KIX off party in style, with not one, not two, but 5 great bands to kick off this awesome annual pilgrimage of classic hard rock. The weather was abysmal, but that did not stop the record crowd from pouring into the Merriweather Post Pavilion

Baltimore’s Bad Seed Rising started off the show, with a tight set of heavy tunes.  These young rockers sound great and have a lot of potential.  If you haven’t checked them out yet, visit their Facebook page here.

We missed the first few songs from Winger, as we were busy talking to KIX frontman Steve Whiteman (Interview coming to HRH soon).  We missed hearing the new Winger tunes from their new album Better Days Comin’, but we did see the band perform most of their classic hits including: “Can’t Get Enough”, “Down Incognito”, “Madalaine” and “Seventeen”.  Kip Winger and company sounded great.

Lita Ford was up next, and Lita’s set was not without some surprises of its own.  Lita’s former Runaway band mate Cherie Currie joined her on stage for some Runaways classics including “Cherry Bomb”, “American Nights” and “Queens of Noise”.  It was a great rock moment, and completely unexpected.

Nothing could have prepared me for what came next.  Extreme took the stage at M3 for the first time since the very first M3 in 2009.  From the very first note, Extreme was on fire!  Gary Cherone was looking great, and sounding even better.  Nuno Bettencourt was a lot of fun to watch, as he laid down his incredible guitar licks for those classic Extreme tunes.  Extreme pulled off one of the best performances of the weekend, and easily the best of the Friday Night KIX Off party.  I can only hope that Extreme will put out some new music, and tour, even if it is on a limited basis.  This one off performance was not enough.  Hopefully they will get an invite to M3 2015.

Speaking of new music, Hagerstown heros, KIX were the headliners once again at M3 and deservedly so.  2014 was the first time we have heard NEW KIX tunes at M3, and the new songs “Can’t Stop The Show” and “Love Me With The Top Down” were great.  KIX has a new album coming out in July, and it can’t get here soon enough.  Once again, KIX’s set was outstanding.  Steve Whiteman’s vocals were perfect, and Brian Forsythe and Ronnie Younkins guitars were great as well.  KIX is the one band that I always look forward to seeing at M3 every year, and they did not disappoint.

The M3 Rock Festival got off to a great start, and as great as Friday night was, Saturday was even better.  More on that soon!   Check out our photo gallery from the Friday Night, below!

Judas Priest Redeemer of Souls

For U.S. fans of Judas Priest that simply cannot wait for the July 15th release date of their latest classic metal album, ‘Redeemer of Souls,’ there is some relief on the way. On Tuesday, April 29th, the title track from the album will be available for purchase via iTunes (http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/redeemer-of-souls-single/id863086125) and other digital service providers. And a clip of the song (plus the single’s artwork) is now available to sample at the band’s website, www.judaspriest.com.

If you are wondering what to expect from the mighty Priest on their forthcoming album, guitarist Glenn Tipton has set the record straight. “Sometimes in the past we may have come under fire for being too adventurous musically – so we have listened!! From start to finish ‘Redeemer of Souls’ is 13 songs of pure classic Priest metal!!”

There are only a select number of bands that have accomplished what Judas Priest has throughout their career (as well as having served as a stylistic influence on such a wide variety of bands). Soon the group – singer Rob Halford, guitarists Glenn Tipton and Richie Faulkner, bassist Ian Hill and drummer Scott Travis – will be offering up more classic Judas Priest metal with the release of ‘Redeemer of Souls’.

Check out the new song “Redeemer of Souls” below!

Internationally renowned, Grammy-nominated/AMA-nominated hard rock band SALIVA blasted onto the scene in 2001 with their double-platinum certified album Every Six Seconds, featuring the hit tracks ‘Superstar’, ‘Your Disease’, ‘Click Click Boom’, and ‘After Me’. Tracks from the record were featured in popular media ranging from the original Fast And The Furious film, Dracula 2000, WWE Wrestlemania and No Mercy, and video games like Spy Hunter, BMX XX, Project Gotham Racing, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003, and many more. In 2002, the band garnered more attention with former lead singer Josey Scott taking part in a duet track with Nickleback vocalist Chad Kroeger for the track ‘Hero’, appearing on the Spider-Man soundtrack. Later that year, the band’s next release, Back Into Your System, launched the track ‘Always’, which hit the #1 on the Modern Rock Charts. The next several years included more successes for the band, including 2004’s Survival Of The Sickest, which featured the hit single ‘Rest In Pieces’, and also churned out several tracks in video games like NASCAR 2005 and television events like WWE’s Unforgiven.Three years later, the band continued to see major success with 2007’s Blood Stained Love Story, which debuted at #19 on the Billboard Top 200 charts and boasted the popular single ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’. The band’s next two albums, Cinco Diabloand Under Your Skin, each saw Billboard Top 200 debuts within their first week of release, respectively. Now with a new singer Bobby Amaru, SALIVA looks forward to a bright future with their refreshed rock sound and line-up, which also includes guitarist Wayne Swinny, bassist Dave Novotny, and drummer Paul Crosby.

NightRanger14

Night Ranger’s second appearance at the M3 Rock Festival will take place this Saturday Night.  Night Ranger often doesn’t get the credit they deserve for their live shows.  Far too many fans only know this band for their biggest hit “Sister Christian”.  While this is a great song, and a staple in the Night Ranger set, this song pales in comparison to the hard rockin’ numbers that Night Ranger plays live.  Night Ranger is a tremendous live band, and one that should not be missed!

Check out the Night Ranger clips “Touch of Madness” (Unofficiatl video),

Queensryche 2013

Yes, there are two versions of Queensryche performing live today.  Geoff Tate has his version of the band, and Todd La Torre fronts another one.  Some Queensryche fans are die hard Tate fans, and I understand that.  Those of you that haven’t given Todd La Torre a chance need to check out the clips below.  This version of the band will be at the M3 Rock Festival next Saturday night, and are a force to be reckoned with.  I am looking forward to hearing Mr. La Torre sing, and hearing Queensryche dust off some of their harder tunes like “Queen of the Reich” that they haven’t played in far too long.

KIX2014
KIX
SIGNS WITH LOUD & PROUD RECORDS;
FIRST NEW ALBUM IN 19 YEARS CURRENTLY IN THE WORKS
AND SET FOR JULY 22 RELEASE

Look for KIX— Steve Whiteman (lead vocals), Jimmy Chalfant (drums, vocals), Ronnie Younkins (guitars), Brian Forsythe (guitars) and Mark Schenker (bass)—to release their first new album in almost two decades on July 22, thanks to their new partnership with Loud & Proud Records.  What makes the project even more exciting and anticipated is that the album features the band’s original line-up, with the exception of Schenker on bass.

“The boys and I are so happy that our old friend, Tom Lipsky, has invited us to join the Loud & Proud family,” exclaims Whiteman.  “We worked with Tom and Madelyn Scarpulla on our last studio album, SHOW BUSINESS, and we’re looking forward to working with them again with the release of the first new KIX album in almost 19 years!  We’ll still be coming to a dump near you very soon!”

Loud & Proud Owner & President Tom Lipsky adds, “What I have always loved about KIX is they make rock ‘n roll fun.  What I love about their new music is that it’s pure, genuine KIX music, straight up guitar rock with no compromise.  They’re not chasing trends or trying to re-invent themselves.  They’re simply doing what they do best…and now they can do it Loud and Proud!”

Marking the re-emergence of KIX in early-2000’s, the band had teamed up a few times a year to test the waters with reunion shows in the Maryland/Pennsylvania, which were very well received.  Then in the summer of 2008, KIX performed outside the mid-Atlantic for the first time in 13 years at two of the biggest rock festivals in the U.S.  Rocklahoma in Pryor, OK and Rock the Bayou in Houston, TX.  The band was hailed by many music websites and attendees as “Best Performance” at both festivals, where they played alongside Sammy Hagar, Alice Cooper, Tesla, Queesryche, Ratt, and more.

As the demand for new music has never subsided and in fact has only increased over the last few years, the band decided that they can no longer ignore the overtures from their fans and are currently recording new KIX songs.  The new album, due out summer 2014, is produced by Taylor Rhodes, who last worked with KIX on 1991’s HOT WIRE album.  Rhodes has also written hit songs for Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne and Journey.

Stay tuned for new album news, which will be announced in the coming weeks, and check out KIX on tour at any of the following stops (with more to be announced soon):

0 New Video – Neal Schon – What You Want

NealSchonSoU

Neal Schön fans can check out the new video for “What You Want” below.  The smoking new track/video is taken from the forthcoming jazz and blues-inspired hard rock studio album, SO U, and includes vocals by bassist Marco Mendoza and Schön, as well as drummer Deen Castronovo.  SO U features Schön along with Mendoza (Black Star Riders, Ted Nugent, Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy) and Castronovo (Journey, Ozzy Osbourne, Steve Vai, Hardline) splitting vocal and writing duties, with many of the tracks also co-written by Night Ranger/Damn Yankee’s songwriter, singer and bassist Jack Blades.

Of the new album, Ultimate Classic Rock raved, “”SO U stands tall as one of the finest albums that Neal Schön has released to date. The combination of Schön with Deen Castronovo and Marco Mendoza is a potent triple threat which delivers on every level. With nine tracks spread over 51 minutes, SO U never overstays its welcome and the typically diverse blend of material will strongly resonate with fans of Schön’s previous work, most notably Santana and Journey. I’ll be standing by and waiting for a sequel.”  SO U will be available on May 19th in North America via Frontiers Records.  The album can be pre-ordered now via iTunes, Amazon and via the Journey online store; those who purchase SO U now via iTunes will receive “Exotica” as an instant gratification track.

Best known as the founding member and lead guitarist of Journey, Neal Schön has enjoyed a remarkable career as one of rock n’ roll’s top virtuosos, with a hand in creating some of the most popular songs of all time.  Beginning his career 45 years ago in the San Francisco Bay area, the 15-year-old guitar prodigy left home to join Santana.  Schön moved on in 1973 to form Journey.  With Journey and other projects, he has earned 19 Top 40 singles and 25 platinum and gold albums, was awarded the prestigious “Legend Of Live Award” at the 2011 Billboard Touring Awards, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2005 and was individually inducted into his native state’s Oklahoma Music Hall Of Fame in 2013. Along with Journey band members Steve Perry and Jonathan Cain, Schön is responsible for co-writing “Don’t Stop Believin’,” the 20th century’s most downloaded song.  As the only member to record on all of Journey’s albums, Schön continues with the band today in its latest incarnation.

In addition to 6 solo albums and 14 studio albums with Journey, Neal Schön has also performed with Joe Cocker, Sammy Hagar, Paul Rodgers, Larry Graham, Betty Davis, Michael Bolton, fusion legend Jan Hammer, Hardline and supergroup Bad English, as well as a variety of side projects.  His latest instrumental solo album, THE CALLING, released in 2012 via Frontiers Records, won rave reviews from fans and the media alike, with Vintage Guitar declaring “THE CALLING is a fine piece of work demonstrating that Schön still has it going on – and then some…The songs are strong and his guitar tones are absolutely luxurious.”  In demand as one of the leading guitarists of his generation, Schönalso worked with Gibson to manufacture his own limited edition “Neal Schön Signature Model Custom Les Paul” guitar, but now uses custom PRS Neal Schon LTD Private Stock guitars, made especially for Neal by Paul Reed Smith.

3 Vie’s Verses – What KISS Should Play For Their 40th Anniversary Tour

  • April 17, 2014
  • by Rob Rockitt
  • · Entertainment · Hard Rock Music · Hard Rock News · Music · Vie's Verses

ViesVerses1As you have surely heard by now, KISS is going on tour this summer with Def Leppard. And while this is bound to be a nostalgic concert full of bombs, rock screams, and plenty of guitar solos, I find myself wondering once again what setlist will KISS trot out? Recently, the band has gone out of their way to belabor the fact that Ace and Peter were not the only guitarist and drummer the band had and that their legacy expands beyond the four original members. If Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley want to be true to that statement, this 40th anniversary tour is the perfect time for them to drive that point home.

Every time KISS goes on tour, they bring out a very similar, if not identical, setlist to the previous tour. Even when they release a new album, only one song from the album gets performed while the band is in America. Once they head overseas, they take a few more risks and play additional songs from the new record, but it never seems to happen in the states. Now they are celebrating 40 years as a band, without a record to promote. This is their prime opportunity to really tap into their catalog and dust off some hits that haven’t been played in years.

I suspect that the band will have between 80 and 90 minutes of stage time and I realize that there are some hits they have to play. A couple of years ago, KISS did bring back “Crazy, Crazy Nights,” and I thought that was a high point to their show. But why stop there? Why not really mix it up and play some tracks that people almost forgot existed. I get that deep cuts like “Almost Human” and “Sweet Pain” probably aren’t going to be played, but how about pulling out “Shandi” in the USA? What if they were to skip “I Was Made For Loving You” and decided that “Hard Luck Woman” was a better fit? I can’t speak for all fans, but I know that this KISS fan would be in all his glory. I know that “Rock And Roll All Nite” is getting performed. I am sure that “Love Gun,” “Lick It Up,” and “Firehouse” will be performed. And all of those songs are great. All I ask is that the band takes a chance and mixes in some other great songs from their catalog.

I would love to hear “I” off of Music From The Elder, or “Mr. Speed” from Rock And Roll Over. “Love ‘Em and Leave ‘Em,” or “Uh! All Night” would be a dream come true. Hell even “Outta This World,” or “Never Enough” would be welcomed treats at this point. I’ve been seeing this band live since the 90s and I know what they are capable of. During the period of time when the makeup was off, Kiss performed songs from their entire catalog. But once the makeup went back on, they stuck to the safe hits. Now, it’s time to celebrate 40 years of Kiss. They even have a (yet another) greatest hits album coming out that includes one song from each record they’ve ever recorded. Why not structure the setlist in a similar fashion? For longtime/diehard fans, it would be a spectacular experience. And there could still be plenty of hits to keep the casual fan satisfied.

I will be seeing the band this summer, and I truly hope that they will go out of their way to mix it up, but I won’t hold my breath waiting to see anything out of the ordinary. Perhaps KISS will surprise me this year, and that would be lovely, but I expect to get the same 15 or 16 hits they’ve played for the last decade. And for a band that has a history as deep and long as theirs, that’s a real shame. If I had a say (and boy, I wish I did) this would be my setlist for the 40th anniversary tour:

Love Gun

Never Enough

Cold Gin

Firehouse

I Just Wanna

I Love It Loud

Shandi

Outta This World

Uh! All Night

I Still Love You

Flaming Youth

Nothing To Lose

Black Diamond

Encore:

Detroit Rock City

Heaven’s On Fire

Rock And Roll All Nite

What about you? Are you tired of the same setlist? Do you wish that KISS would mix it up, or are you just happy that they are still touring? Drop a line in the comments and let us know your thoughts!

Ace Frehley

ROCK LEGEND ACE FREHLEY SIGNS
WORLDWIDE MULTI ALBUM DEAL WITH
ENTERTAINMENT ONE MUSIC

“SPACE INVADER,” FIRST NEW ALBUM
IN FIVE YEARS, AVAILABLE ON 6/24/14

2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee  ACE FREHLEY will release SPACE INVADER, his first new solo album in five years, via Entertainment One Music (eOne Music) on June 24th, 2014. The album will include at least nine brand new original songs as well as a cover of Steve Miller’s “The Joker.”  This album is the first release under Frehley’s new universal deal on eOne Music.

Frehley has released an official statement surrounding the exciting news:

“Life on Earth has been very good to me, and the body of work I’ve created over the years has withstood the test of time.  Today I see no obstacles before me and my creativity has never been more fine tuned. Growing up in an Alien world has enhanced my senses and allowed me to succeed where others would have failed. The best is yet to come!”

Widely known as the original “Space Ace” and founding guitarist for 16 cumulative years (over 2 tenures) of the multi platinum selling rock band KISS, Frehley is demonstrably the most popular original member.  In addition to having the best selling solo album career (vintage or current) among the original foursome, Frehley’s self titled Ace Frehley, released in 1978, went on to sell over one million copies, producing the only Top 40 single, “New York Groove,” from any of the legendary KISS solo albums; (peaking at #13).   The massive hit was most recently featured in an episode of cult show “Entourage” and was also KISS’ second bestselling download in 2012, besting such KISS Army anthems as “I Was Made For Lovin’ You,” “Beth” and “Calling Dr. Love” even after 36 years.
Since departing from KISS, Frehley went on to release four more solo albums and one live EP including his most recent effort, Anomaly in 2009, which debuted at #27 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and received a welcoming response among critics. “’Anomaly’ shows why many rock and metal guitarists list ‘Space Ace’ as a prime six-string influence,” said Rolling Stone.ACE FREHLEY will participate in the 2014 REVOLVER GOLDEN GODS AWARDS show by presenting the Dimebag Darrell “Best Guitarist” Award alongside label-mate Zakk Wylde. The awards show will take place on April 23, 2014 at the CLUB NOKIA Theater in Los Angeles. Tickets are on sale now!

Frehley adds comment.

“It’s exciting to finally be part of the Golden Gods, awards and an honor to be part of any Dimebag memorial award.  He was a friend, and I know everyone misses him, as do I.”

Winery Dogs Special Edition
THE WINERY DOGS
SPECIAL EDITION AND DELUXE EDITION
OF SELF-TITLED DEBUT ALBUM OUT TODAY;
HEADLINING TOUR CONTINUES APRIL 30 IN ENGLEWOOD, NJ
THE WINERY DOGS (Mike Portnoy, Billy Sheehan and Richie Kotzen) released their self-titled, self-produced and critically acclaimed debut album in North America on Loud & Proud Records today as two very special editions.

THE WINERY DOGS SPECIAL EDITION is comprised of two-CDs.  Disc 1 is the standard album and Disc 2 is entitled UNLEASHED IN JAPAN 2013, comprised of 10 songs recorded live in Japan during their July ’13 tour, including “Criminal,” a track previously unavailable in the U.S., along with a 16-page booklet of live photos and lyrics.  UNLEASHED IN JAPAN 2013 is also available as a stand-alone digital album.  DOG TREATS: THE WINERY DOGS DELUXE SPECIAL EDITION, a limited edition release, is being sold in a box resembling a box of dog treats, and includes the SPECIAL EDITION collection of music, a DVD featuring four music videos and interview footage, demos from the original recording sessions, a “studio diary” written by Mike Portnoy, as well as some unique merchandise unavailable elsewhere.  Portnoy recently gave fans a glimpse inside the packaging of the DOG TREATS on Revolver magazine’s website.

After THE WINERY DOGS was originally released on July 23, 2013 on Loud & Proud Records, it debuted on Billboard’s “Top Alternative Albums” chart at #3, “Top Independent Albums” chart at #4, “Top Rock Albums” chart at #5, “Top Internet Albums” at #8 and “Top 200 Albums” chart at #27.

The rave reviews poured in once it was released:

“…filled to the brim with hard-driving rock and roll…the overall effect is something like a proggier Grand Funk Railroad crossed with Soundgarden at their most accessible.” – Guitar World

“…a modern-rock melting pot of powerhouse hooks and plucking pyrotechnics, informed by ‘70s classic rock, ‘90s metal, R&B, and blues, and delivered through Kotzen’s nuanced vocals.” – Bass Player

“The Winery Dogs have chops galore and the maturity to rein in their mad skills with passionate execution.  It’s an album melding blues-rock, soulful ballads, and contemporary hard rock with Kotzen bringing the soul in buckets.  Highlights include, ‘Desire,’ ‘Elevate’ and ‘One More Time.’”
– Music Connection

“The self-titled debut Winery Dogs album is one of the most intriguing releases of the year. The all-star trio has delivered a blistering collection of soaring tunes.” – Loudwire.com

“Mike Portnoy is a lot of people’s favorite drummer, Billy Sheehan is a lot of people’s favorite bassist, and Richie Kotzen is a lot of people’s favorite guitarist.  But as The Winery Dogs, they very well could be a lot of people’s favorite new band.  Yes, their self-titled debut album is that kind of winner.” – Musicradar.com

SEVENDUST
HIGHLY ANTICIPATED ACOUSTIC ALBUM,
‘TIME TRAVELERS & BONFIRES,’ OUT TODAY;
ALBUM STREAMING NOW ON GUITARWORLD.COM‘S “ACOUSTIC NATION”;
HEADLINING “AN EVENING WITH SEVENDUST” TOUR CONTINUES
Sevendust Acoustic
When SEVENDUST–Lajon Witherspoon (vocals), Morgan Rose (drums/vocals), Clint Lowery (guitar/vocals), John Connolly (guitar/vocals) and Vince Hornsby (bass/vocals)—asked their family of fans for suggestions of which songs they should record for a new acoustic album, the response was immediate and enormous.  The result of all that love and support is TIME TRAVELERS & BONFIRES, available everywhere today on the band’s 7Bros. Records, in conjunction with ADA Label Services.

Fans can check out an exclusive full album stream on GuitarWorld.com’s “Acoustic Nation” here:  http://www.guitarworld.com/acoustic-nation-exclusive-stream-sevendust-time-travelers-and-bonfires-premiere.

The band’s current headlining acoustic U.S. tour, “An Evening With SEVENDUST,” launched April 1 in Athens, GA and isn’t stopping anytime soon.   Dates continue through June 26, with more dates to come throughout the summer.

As RockRevoltMagazine.com praised in a live review of opening night:  “Overall, ‘An Evening With SEVENDUST’ is the ultimate showcase of the collective talents of a band that has stood the test of time and continues to deliver poignant, solid and relevant songs.  The level of musicianship was off the charts and I don’t care if you’re a SEVENDUST fan or not, there is no way you can see this show and not appreciate the level of mastery on that stage.  Add the intimate setting, personal stories, reworked classics intertwined with the six new songs from TIME TRAVELERS & BONFIRES and you WILL have an evening that you most assuredly won’t soon forget.”

TIME TRAVELERS & BONFIRES is the follow-up to their ninth studio album, BLACK OUT THE SUN, which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s “Top Hard Music Albums” chart, as well as #18 on the “Top 200 Albums” chart, #4 on the “Record Label Independent Current Albums” chart, #5 on the “Top Current Rock Albums” chart, #14 on the “Overall Digital Albums” chart and #17 on the “Top Internet Albums” chart.

SEVENDUST is already racking up rave reviews.  To wit:

“TIME TRAVELERS & BONFIRES shines with energy throughout the twelve tracks…This is a must have for any SEVENDUST fan of old and the acoustic format potentially opens their music to a wider demographic…just as intense as any of their previous studio releases.”  — RockRevoltMagazine.com

“The whole album is truly something special and all SEVENDUST fans should check it out…along with people who enjoy the mellow side of rock music…with substance.”  — Zoiksonline.com

“TIME TRAVELERS & BONFIRES connects on every level with the established fanbase.  For a band that gets so much from their fans, that’s just what you would expect…The most underrated band of the last 20 years does what they always do here.  They deliver exactly what their fanbase would want.  Solid from start to finish…” – Pitriff.com

0 A Rock N’ Roll Love Story: Married Rock Duo SINNER SINNERS to Release New Album “XI” on April 21, 2014

SINNER SINNERS Blends Punk-Inspired Anthems with Classic Rock Influences on “XI”

“SINNER SINNERS play loud, powerful and unapologetic rock and roll with a calm humility that belies the crazed power that lies beneath.” – TwoGuysMetalReviews.com

Ah, the days of pure, raucous, outspoken, and aggressive rock n’ roll often seem to have passed. But while this sound has almost entirely evaded the mainstream, at least one up and coming band in Los Angeles is poised to bring it back, while proving that truly honest and outstanding rock music isn’t always fuelled by animosity or anger, but often by a pure passion for music and the one you’re making it with.

Happily married couple Steve and Sam Thill met in a small town in the center of France at the age of 15 and fell fast in love. Eight years later in 2009, the couple started SINNER SINNERS out of their mutual love of rock music and desire to be at each other’s sides throughout all aspects of their musical careers. Since their inception and relocation to Los Angeles, SINNER SINNERS have pushed their forceful punk-influenced rock n’ roll out to the controlled masses, but see 2014 as a figurative launching pad designed to hit the big time.

“Being in a band with my wife – working on songs and performing shows – is a very different concept than any other band I’ve seen or been in before,” states Steve Thill. “There’s a chemistry that can’t be matched, plus we’ve been together since we’re teens and grew up together. We know each other very well and it translates well into our songwriting.”

SINNER SINNERS offers a brand new full-length album XI, which will hit digital stores via independent release on the band’s Cadavra Records on April 21, 2014. Take a listen to two new tracks, ‘Riot’ (http://youtu.be/Ndz6GpOXvd0) and ‘Reckless’ (http://youtu.be/Juhp6zLIRdk), via YouTube now.

As with their 2011 release Cardinal Sins, the band enlisted producer Nic Jodoin (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Amusement Park On Fire, The Morlocks), and recorded at the Glory Hole in Hollywood, CA (the previous album also featured production duties from Pascal Mondaz). Interesting fact, SINNER SINNERS recorded with Nic at the same time as Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, actually trading places in the studio throughout the course of the process.

SINNER SINNERS do not want fans to confuse producer loyalty with a desire to do the same old thing, however. “We wanted something completely different from the first record, something more aggressive and straight forward, louder and faster,” states Steve Thill. “Strangely enough, The Doors and the Rolling Stones are probably our biggest influences and the only bands we would listen to during the writing and recording process.”

Thill adds, “We love Nic, we’re good friends. It gives a different dynamic, there’s no filter or holding back even when it comes scream at each other. He’s a great producer and knows how to push us beyond our limits.”

SINNER SINNERS keeps busy outside of the studio as well, boasting recent performances with Black Flag, The Sonics, The Lords of Altamont, The Morlocks, The Creepshow and many more.

The group is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on the follow-up to 2012’s Apocalyptic Love which is being helmed by producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette (Alter Bridge, Falling In Reverse, Incubus). The group is recording a total of 17 songs–including one instrumental.  “It’s very rock. It’s more up-tempo than the last record was,” states vocalist KENNEDY. “Slash has got some really great riffs on this record. Killer stuff…” “The material on this album is more serious and more fun at the same time, which is a tough balance,” adds bassist TODD KERNS. “The songs are sleazier, tougher and more dangerous. We’re all very excited to unleash the monster upon you as soon as we can.”

SLASH officially began recording as a solo artist with his self-titled 2010 debut album which employed a different vocalist on each track of his first album including Ozzy Osbourne, Fergie and Myles Kennedy among others. SLASH explains, “We’ve worked really well together from the start. I never thought about how it’s progressed. It’s real natural and like any sort of close relationship, we established it early on and now we’re just sort of doing our thing, it’s just a really cool kind of synergy that we’ve got.” Apocalyptic Love earned SLASH two first-ever No. 1 U.S. rock radio hits with “You’re A Lie” and “Standing In The Sun.” The album’s third single, “Anastasia,” cracked the Top 10 at Modern and Active Rock and Top Five at Mainstream Rock.

Watch SLASH’s “Real To Reel” webisodes happening now in the studio at: www.slashonline.com. The innovative online series is documenting the entire in-studio recording process from the first day of recording to the last, the multi-segment fly-on-the wall series follows Slash and The Conspirators from pre-production at NRG Studios in Los Angeles to Studio Barbarossa in Florida, as they write, play, create and record the new album from start to finish.

SLASH has amassed album sales of over 100 million copies, garnered a GRAMMY Award and seven GRAMMY nominations and was inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. Time magazine named SLASH #2, behind Jimi Hendrix, on its “The Ten Best Electric Guitar Players of All-Time” list. SLASH helped create signature sounds like the guitar riff on #1 hits for Guns N Roses “Sweet Child o’ Mine” and “Welcome To The Jungle.” After leaving the band, SLASH went on to critical acclaim with SLASH’s Snakepit and global success with the supergroup Velvet Revolver.  SLASH’s self-titled biography critically well-received, climbed the bestseller list in both the U.S. and U.K. hitting #8 on the NY Times Bestsellers List. SLASH landed on the top of the charts with his first solo album, Slash (2010) which featured Ozzy Osbourne, Fergie and more. SLASH and his band featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators released the critically acclaimed Apocalyptic Love (2012) which stormed the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart at #4 as the top rock debut and produced his first-ever #1 rock radio solo hits: “You’re A Lie” and “Standing In The Sun.” SLASH released Nothing Left To Fear (2013) the first-ever motion picture he co-produced from Slasher Films, his film/TV production company. Saliva_RiseUp_Cover_HiResWhen Josey Scott left Saliva in 2011, the band had two options, (a). break up or (b) start over by finding a new front man.  Thankfully, the band chose plan b, and found a new singer, Bobby Amaru (Amaru, Burn Season).

Starting over is always a daunting task for any band, especially one with a huge fan base like Saliva.  Luckily, Amaru was a great find, and his voice works perfectly for Saliva. I expect a lot of great things for this new era of Saliva, and  I really like the direction the band has moved in with their latest album Rise Up.

Rise Up is a heavier album for Saliva, but not so heavy that it will disappoint the band’s fans.  This album is packed with radio friendly rockers, and many songs that could easily be hits for Saliva.

The album cover fits the title track “Rise Up” perfectly.  When you hear this song you will definitely want to throw your fist in the air! As much as I like “Rise Up”, it does not even compare to “She Can Sure Hide Crazy”. Easily my favorite track on “Rise Up”, this catchy rocker is going to be a huge song for Saliva!

“Lost” is a mid-tempo number that I expect to be another hit for Saliva.  It is great to hear Wayne Swinny cutting lose with some big, clean guitar riffs on this song.

“Redneck Freakshow” sounds like classic Saliva. This is another heavy rocker with a killer beat! I love Paul Crosby’s drumming on this song.  This is another one of my new Saliva favorites.

I find myself headbanging every time the song “Army” comes up.  This is another cool rocker with a great beat courtesy of Mr. Crosby. Love the vocals too!

“In It To Win It” is one of the heaviest Saliva songs ever, and this fist pumping rocker should be a real crowd pleaser in Saliva’s live set.

Saliva’s new album Rise Up will definitely put the band back on the road to success.  I have been enjoying this album, and I think you will to.

Rise Up will be released April 29th to a store near you, and on iTunes and Amazon.com.  Don’t miss this!
