“Angel Down,” Bach’s first solo disc in eight years, will be released November 20 through Merovingian Music, Ltd. and Bach’s company Get Off My Bach Productions, according to the music Website Blabbermouth.net.
Rose will appear on two tracks, the lead single “(Love Is) A Bitchslap” and a cover of Aerosmith’s “Back in the Saddle,” Bach told the Website in an interview on Friday. “It just came out really, really on fire,” Bach said of the Aerosmith tune. “And then Axl comes in, and it’s me and him screaming those screams at the —- top of our range. If you’re into screams, this is a good album for you.”
Bach made a guest appearance at Guns N’ Roses’ comeback performances at Hammerstein Ballroom last year, joining Rose for “My Michelle.” Bach later joined the band on tour as the opening act and sang on the long-awaited Guns N’ Roses album “Chinese Democracy.”
In the interview, Bach also dropped hints about his involvement in a possible television show. “I wouldn’t call it a reality show, but there are elements of that,” he said.

As the days of summer race forward, many have been awaiting an assortment of record and video releases from around the world. Today we join the race toward the August 27th release of Atreyu’s Lead Sails Paper Anchor, with the premier of their video and first single “Becoming the Bull”. The video was directed by Kevin Kerslake (Rise Against, Green Day, Nirvana) and shows a new side of a band that has refined their outlook on the music they make.
Halloween rocks as writer/director Rob Zombie unleashes his terrifying remake of the classic film Halloween. Halloween: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Hip-O/UMe), released August 21, 2007, precedes the premiere of the film on more than 2,000 screens on August 31.
Halloween is a trick-or-treat goodie bag of audio clips from the film and ‘70s arena rock that turns sinister when heard in the film. From Nazareth’s “Love Hurts” (Top 10, 1976) and Peter Frampton’s “Baby I Love Your Way” (Top 20, 1975) to Iggy Pop’s live version of “1969” (1969), Alice Cooper’s “Only Women Bleed” (Top 20, 1975), Rush’s “Tom Sawyer” (1981) and Blue Oyster Cult’s “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” (Top 20, 1976), Zombie mixes the expected with the surprising, just as he does with the film itself. Also included is composer Tyler Bates’ (Dawn Of The Dead, The Devil’s Rejects, Slither, 300) remake of John Carpenter’s iconic “Halloween” now titled “Halloween 2007.”
Rob Zombie, who previously wrote and directed The Devil’s Rejects (2000) and House Of 1000 Corpses (2004), offers an entirely new take on the highly successful series of Halloween films that began in 1978. Zombie turns back time to uncover the making of a pathologically disturbed, even cursed, child named Michael Myers.
Also heard in the film and on the soundtrack are “Let It Ride” (Top 30, 1974) from Bachman Turner Overdrive, “God Of Thunder” (1976) from KISS, The Misfits’ 1982 “Halloween II” (which was not connected with the film), a new version of “Mr. Sandman” recorded by Nan Vernon and produced by Tyler Bates, as well as the Bates’ composed “The Shape Stalks Laurie.”
Besides the soundtracks to House Of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects, Zombie’s horror film musical exploits includes 1999’s innovative Rob Zombie Presents…Frankenstein, for which he created a mixtape of dialogue and score from the three classic original Frankenstein films.
Rob Zombie has sold over 15 million albums worldwide and continues to be one of Geffen Record’s top selling artists.

Corporate Punishment is proud to announce the addition of one of the UK’s most unique and talented new bands to our roster in the form of VICTORY PILL, featuring ex-Pitchshifter/ Prodigy guitarist Jim Davies, and ex-Prodigy drummer Kieron Pepper.
Victory Pill is the brainchild of JIM DAVIES, long considered one of the UK’s most revered and respected guitarists, whose much documented first break came in the form of The Prodigy, where he shaped his style playing on several tracks on their breakthrough Fat Of The Land album, including Prodigy staples “Firestarter” and “Breathe”, as well as supplying guitars on the bands next 2 records. Jim toured worldwide with the band including a headline slot at Reading 2001
“I started playing guitar, solely rock/metal. My turning point was when ‘dance’ bands like The Prodigy started using guitars. I loved all the squelchy synth sounds and textures which I started to replicate on the guitar. I also started to get more into effects and sounds which I think is when I developed a bit of a unique style for myself.”
A fan and regular stage-diver at Pitchshifter gigs, Jim approached JS Clayden after a show in 1997. “We got talking and he suggested I add some guitars to some of their tunes. He gave me a demo of http://www.pitchshifter.com. I added some guitars for a track called “Please Sir” after which the band invited me to Nottingham to record it. I ended up playing on 6 tracks and was asked to join the band”, where he went on to co-write the albums Deviant and PSI .
Jim’s last gig for Pitchshifter was immortalized as the Bootlegged, Distorted live album. “My last gig with them was a massive high and I will always remember it as such.”
A unique brand of Modern Rock with a dark, electronic side, VICTORY PILL came to fruition after Jim’s departure from PSI, when he teamed up with former Prodigy drummer Kieron Pepper.
“I had a big writing session over a few months which resulted in nearly 20 tunes. I played the tracks to Kieron and realized that I needed to get a band together. I tried vocals for the first time and it seemed to work well”. With Kieron on board as a Bass player and second vocalist, VICTORY PILL was formed.
With that pedigree, it is no surprise then that the result is a mammoth debut album of inventive and infectious sounds, like the explosive “Downfall” and “Another Clone” as well as the critically acclaimed first single “Worst Case Scenario”.
VICTORY PILL will release their self-titled debut in the US and CANADA on 10/23 via CORPORATE PUNISHMENT/ KOCH, and in the UK on 10/1 via OTHERSIDE/ UNIVERSAL.

On a side note, Nikki Sixx was on Chelsea Live on E! tonight. He barely got a chance to talk before Chelsea went on to the next segment on her show. I was disappointed that Nikki hardly got a decent amount of time to speak. It was a waste of his time.

Looks like the third time will be the charm for David Lee Roth and Van Halen. After two false starts, the ’80s rock powerhouse is re-treaming for a road trip. A Los Angeles press conference is planned for this week, where Roth, along with Alex van Halen and Eddie van Halen, are expected to announce a 50-city arena tour of the U.S., beginning in October, with Eddie’s son, Wolfgang, on bass.
The group first threatened to reform when Roth appeared onstage with the group at the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards, though lingering personality conflicts killed the reunion before it began. Rumors of the reformation surfaced again in January of this year, though the proposed summer tour plans were squelched after Eddie Van Halen entered rehab in March. That same month, the group — along with original bassist Marc Anthony and Roth replacement Sammy Hagar — was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

NEW YORK (August 7, 2007) – Texas hard rock band Drowning Pool and non-profit organization Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) are launching a national concert tour ‘This Is For the Soldiers’ to support expanded health care for veterans returning from Iraq & Afghanistan. They are campaigning and asking Americans to support legislation currently before Congress that addresses the urgent need to provide better mental health care for veterans. The campaign includes a website www.thisisforthesoldiers.org which hosts a petition urging Congress to support the Lane Evans Mental Health Care Reform bill along with a powerful music video.
Drowning Pool is taking their message on the road in the form of a tour in conjunction with the IAVA. Supporting the troops is nothing new for Drowning Pool who toured with the USO and performed for troops in Iraq, Kuwait and South Korea in 2005 and 2006. The campaign’s title, ‘This Is For the Soldiers,’ comes from a line in the Drowning Pool song, “Soldiers,” that the band wrote based on their experience. Drowning Pool named their upcoming concert tour after the campaign and will donate fifty cents from each ticket sale to IAVA and fifty cents to the USO. IAVA, founded by Iraq veteran Paul Rieckhoff, has been advocating since 2004 on behalf of returning service members. It is the first and largest group representing veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“It has been an amazing experience working with IAVA. After returning from playing for the troops in Baghdad we wanted to find a way to support the men and women serving our country. While working with Paul and everyone at IAVA we have been able to do that and so much more, said Ryan from Drowning Pool.
The band and IAVA are encouraging supporters to send a petition to Representative Bob Filner, Chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, asking him to take action on the Lane Evans Bill, H.R. 1354, currently pending in the House. This bipartisan legislation would require mandatory counseling for combat veterans and ensure a better transition for troops leaving the military. A letter written by the band has already been sent to members of the House and Senate Committees on Veterans Affairs and was recently read before the President’s Commission on Care for America’s Returning Wounded Warriors.
“Whether you’re for the war or against it, everyone has an obligation to support the men and women serving our country,” said Paul Rieckhoff, IAVA Executive Director.
Drowning Pool will release their third album, Full Circle on Eleven Seven Music/ADA on August 7th. It’s the third album for the band, and the first release with new lead vocalist Ryan McCombs.
The first single “Soldiers” is a nod to the very same soldiers who would listen to their 2001 song “Bodies” while flying missions over Iraq. It’s a heartfelt tribute that urges the public to support the troops, even if they don’t agree with the war.

Nikki Sixx recently sat down with Spinner.com for the launch of the site’s new column Shout It Out Loud to discuss his challenge to the music and entertainment industries and depicts how they both habitually turn a blind eye when they become overbearing. In the Spinner article, Nikki questions why in any other profession your business associates will call attention to your short-comings and downfalls, but in the music industry everyone just enables your addictions. With six years of sobriety, Nikki is about to release his soundtrack and book for The Heroin Diaries on August 21st and September 18th respectively. Nikki has illustrated past reflections of his life in the soundtrack and the book, and is hoping to be a support pillar for the musicians of tomorrow with his knowledge of the music industry and substance abuse.

Frontiers Records is truly excited to introduce the world the talents of LAND OF TALES. The band is formed around Kristian and Palle, two musicians who have been playing together for fifteen years in a Finnish band called NAISKALA. During the past few years the guys have felt more and more the need to write and compose in English language and towards and more Adult-Oriented Rock musical style.
Kristian started writing songs in November 2006, meanwhile Petri Lahtinen and Mika Mäkiranta wrote the lyrics for the tales. The result was a demo that was submitted to the attention of Frontiers Records in the past weeks. The brilliant songwriting, catchy melodies and big choruses immediately hit the attention of Frontiers Records A&R team, who decided to offer the band a recording deal.
In the meanwhile, long time musicians and friends Sami Rajala (on bass) and Sami Ojala (on drums) joined the band and right now the guys are busy in the studio completing the songwriting for their debut album which is foreseen to be released in early 2008.
The Land of Tales sound can be described as an equal union of keyboards and guitar, well crafted and with truly original and strong melodic elements! Check out some of the band’s demo tracks that gained them the recording deal at www.myspace.com/landoftales
Their material did already receive some glowing press responses with Strutter Webzine saying: “LAND OF TALES is definitely a sensational new Finnish AOR band as good as last year’s BROTHER FIRETRIBE or URBAN TALE”. AORdreamzones wrote “I will only write a few words about these new Finnish stars on the melodic rock sky. I found them through the fantastic MySpace site and I even liked them so much so I had to add them and one of their songs as the song of the week”
”We are so excited to work with the label, which is absolutely the best for this kind of music!” say Kristian and Palle. So let’s share their enthusiasm and get ready for a brand new talent to be unleashed on the Melodic Rock World !!
Swedish Melodic Rock quartet ECLIPSE is back to the studio writing and recording the songs that will make up their third studio album. After the great acclaim gathered by their debut album on Frontiers entitled “Second To None”, the guys took some time off to write songs that could really be something “BIG” and that could really launch the band to the levels they deserve.
The resulting was a few demo tracks which were delivered to Frontiers a couple of months back. We are pleased to say the guys totally nailed it! When exposed to samples of the new material Andrew J. McNeice of Melodicrock.com had to say “I love it when that music impresses beyond expectation and I get to talk about that. Today I refer to Swedish AOR outfit Eclipse, who have already gained a loyal following with 2 passionate, powerful melodic rock records. The guys are hard at work on album number three for Frontiers Records which signals what isn’t really a slight change in direction, but rather an updating of their sound. It suits them. The rough mixes I have heard of three songs features a more modern and contemporary sound, but still very classy and very melodic outlook. Of the tracks I have heard – Unbreakable has a punchier guitar riff and a darker contemporary style, but a glorious harmony filled chorus. Two Souls has a faster tempo and a commercial rock feel and reminds me of an updated Talisman style. To Mend A Broken Heart is a great, catchy modern rocker with an uplifting commercial chorus. It may be a new sound, but the best aspects of their sound remains and I’m really keen to hear more from these Swedish lads”.
As a special present, enjoy a small sample of Unbreakable (demo version!) and get ready for the full attack in early 2008. These guys are getting ready to kill !!!
The STARBREAKER guitar player has been quite busy in the past few months. After completing the songwriting and production for the second ALLEN / LANDE instalment “The Revenge”, Magnus has completed a brand new record with ex YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and RING OF FIRE singer MARK BOALS on all lead vocals. This new album, entitled THE CODEX is going to be a slightly heavier affair compared to the most recent efforts from Magnus and will showcase Boals’ return on the scene after a 3 years hiatus. Release for this incredible record is tentatively scheduled for December 07. Stay tuned for more details.
Not content with this, Karlsson is already in very advanced stages for the songwriting of the sixth BOB CATLEY solo album. For this record Magnus dug deep in his Celtic and Epic Hard Rock influences and gave the material anyway an heavier edge, similar in places to Catley’s “When Empires Burn” with obvious hints to MAGNUM sound. Production for the album will be handled by none other than Dennis Ward.
Finally singer ex TNT singer Tony Harnell has planned a songwriting trip to Sweden in august to write together with Magnus the new STARBREAKER album. More details on this will be unleashed when available !
PLACES OF POWER
Bruce Turgon (ex FOREIGNER) and Philip Bardowell (ex UNRULY CHILD) are very close to finish laying the rough tracks for their upcoming debut album. Some of the songs that will be included on the record are Hard To Love You, Places of Power, I Live For You, One Day, The Passage, Light Of My World, Secrets, Desires of Our Hearts, Always and Make Me Believe.
The songwriting is truly impressive and can only be described as “Foreigner with balls”, with epic elements at times resounding of classic House of Lords sound. The recording are planned to be finished after the summer with mix to be handled by Dennis Ward (Allen / Lande, PC 69 etc). Places of Power is going to be one of the major priorities in Melodic Rock for new year so stay tuned for updates !
HOUSE OF LORDS
James Christian and his cohorts in Florida are deep in the songwriting mood for the new album that has a working title of “Come To My Kingdom”. The stuff written so far encompasses everything that HOUSE OF LORDS is known for: soaring melodies, epic numbers and riveting guitars. You can expect the right follow up to “World Upside Down” one of the most successful releases on Frontiers in 2006!
The third chapter of the KHYMERA project is about to be completed. The line-up this time is identical to the second album with Daniele Liverani on keyboards, Tommy Ermolli on guitars, Dario Ciccioni on drums and Dennis Ward of PC69 handling all lead vocals. The bulk of the songwriting was supplied this time by Jim and Tom Martin, who offered seven tracks on the previous album and wrote the classic “Ghost Of Time” on the HOUSE OF LORDS masterpiece album “World Upside Down”. You can expect this time a tighter production and a stronger amalgam for a winning team that will please every Melodic Rock freak ! Release to happen in early 2008.
Former STRANGEWAYS singer Terry Brock is currently busy in the recording and production for his new solo album in Los Angeles under the direction of none other than Mike Slamer (STEELHOUSE LANE, SEVENTH KEY, SLAMER). Terry is back in a true Melodic Rock mood and his songwriting is expected to go back directly to his STRANGEWAYS days with some hints at KANSAS’ “Drastic Measures”. The mix will start after the summer and delivery of the album is expected to happen at the end of 2007.
Brothers Robbie and Brian LaBlanc have pretty much completed the songwriting of the second BLANC FACES album for Frontiers Records. Some of the song titles include Goodbye Summer, I Come Alive, Don’t Take It Away, Like a Believer, Fly, Light In My World, Deep In The Heart, I Swear To You, Everything, It’s All About Love, Falling From The Moon.

“Another year, another location, so time now methinks for another WAYSTED album. Don’t you? This time round the classic line-up are back together: Pete Way, Fin (vocals), Chris George (guitar) and Paul Haslin (drums).
“Yes, Chris George has returned, but terms and conditions do apply and Pete has been made fully aware of them. Currently they are holed up somewhere on the south coast (U.K.) putting the finishing touches to a set of brand new songs, before entering the studio in two weeks to record the harsh reality due for release on U.K.’s Livewire Records in early October. Beware! Live dates will be announced in the near future. So there. Keep it sweet.”
Los Angeles — Juan Croucier of RATT fame has joined forces with Carlos Cavazo (formerly of QUIET RIOT) to complete the lineup of his band. The band also includes John Medina on Drums (formerly of Bret Michaels’ solo band).
Rehearsals have been underway and the band is now ready to play shows throughout the US and abroad. “John and I have been searching a long time for the right ingredient to this band. Being a three-piece band, the guitar player was critical. To cut the field even more, you had to be able to sing really well too. Over the course of the last six months we auditioned quite a few guitar players. While doing that, I developed a very short list of exceptional professional musicians that I believed held truly unique and special talents. Among others on that list was Carlos Cavazo. I contacted him and we hit if off right away, we then played together for the first time and presto! The band was indeed complete. I know band chemistry and I know when something is special, this is special; an absolute musical paradigm shift! We’re looking forward to bringing the music to the people.” – Juan Croucier
The German rocker abruptly cancelled dates on his most recent American tour and has now posted a fiery message on his website, explaining his actions.
He writes, “There never will be another tour in the U.S. unless particular people stop interfering.
I have tried my best to give all my fans a live show but was forced out of the U.S. by wicked attempts by these same people.”
