THE NYC GUITAR-DRIVEN, ANTHEMIC ROCK BAND KICKS OFF NEW TOUR WITH ESCAPE THE FATE AND NEW YEAR’S DAY ON FEBRUARY 15 IN FRESNO
NEW SINGLE “IMMORTAL” OFF CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED ALBUM LOCKED & LOADED CURRENTLY #24 AT ACTIVE ROCK & RISING
“Immortal” Music Video Directed By Davo Gains Early Spike With “Sixx Sense with Nikki Sixx” World Premier
NYC guitar-driven, anthemic rock band EVE TO ADAM announces new tour with ESCAPE THE FATE and NEW YEAR’S DAY kicking off February 15 in Fresno, fresh off the heels of their last 13-date tour with POP EVIL Widely regarded as one of the hardest working bands on the Modern Rock circuit, EVE TO ADAM are flying high with the success of new single “IMMORTAL” hitting #24 at Active Rock and rising, along with new critically acclaimed album LOCKED & LOADED, which is receiving some of the best reviews of the band’s career. KNAC ranks LOCKED & LOADED as one of the best Hard Rock albums of 2014 and Examiner ranks it at #2.
“IMMORTAL,” which was co-written and produced by Dave Bassett (Halestorm, Shinedown), hit #1 at Octane (SiriusXM) generating heavy phones, and was featured on iTunes’ New & Noteworthy. “IMMORTAL” is a larger-than-life, cinematic anthem that pays tribute to heroic legacies. The track is impacting out-of-the-box with radio and the fans going hard for this single.
The “Immortal” music video, directed by Davo and shot at the beautiful and historic Loews Theater Journal Square in Jersey City, received an early spike by Nikki Sixx, with a world premiere at Sixx Sense With Nikki Sixx. The eloquently shot live performance video catches Eve To Adam in one of their most authentic moments, giving fans the feeling of being front-row-and-center at a live concert.
The single first premiered on Artist Direct, who says“The song is a grungey, dark, moody track. We love it. You will, too.”
New Transcendence says: “New York’s Eve To Adam has found a way to stay fresh in a scene that has been overrun with mediocrity.”
Screamer says: “If you are a fan of melodic, indie-style hard rock (sorry, no growler vocals or slick, corporate rock here) you need to get this album. As in, right now…”
For Locked & Loaded the band enlisted top notch writer/producers, who in addition to Dave Bassett, who was also involved in Halestorm’s GRAMMY-win for “Best Hard Rock Performance” as co-writer of “Love Bites (So Do I)”, includes Eric Bass (Shinedown) and Elvis Baskette (Incubus, Falling In Reverse, Alter Bridge).
Eve To Adam, who count legendary, GRAMMY-winning songwriter Desmond Child (Aerosmith, Katy Perry, KISS, Bon Jovi) is an early mentor, are clearly upping their game. As an arena and stadium level act positioned for global recognition, the band has performed sold-out tours with Motley Crue, In This Moment, Chevelle, POD, Hinder and Halestorm among others, and have played all of the major festivals including Rocklahoma, Rock On The Range and Jagermeister Presents Tour among others. The band’s live show has become their signature cornerstone.
The current line-up of Eve To Adam is: Taki Sassaris (frontman/vocalist); Gaurav Bali (lead guitar); Alex Sassaris (drums); Luis Espaillat (bassist/backing vocalist) and Adam Latiff (formerly with Puddle of Mudd) is the newest member, as rhythm guitarist/backing vocalist.

0 New Video – VITNE – Nasty Habit
Norway’s VITNE has released his new single entitled “Nasty Habit” alongside a new music video, marking the third single from his full-length album “Neon” released just before the new year (December 3rd, 2013). Produced by VITNE and directed by Fajrin Affandi, the video features the singer with a variety of special effects, from cyberpunk imagery to computer animation.
VITNE’s “Neon” album released December 3rd, 2013, and has consistently received highly positive reviews with VITNE and his lead guitarist Julian Angel (of Beautiful Beast fame) being compared to a modern-day version of Billy Idol and Steve Stevens. SleazeRoxx says “Neon’ is a winner…. For the hard rock glam metal community at large, this oh-so-tasty collection of aural stimuli is as relentless as it is amazing.” The album has received ratings of 9/10 (EGHTS.com), 8.5/10 (Rock Garage Germany), 8/10 (Heavy Paradise), and 4.5/5 (Sputnik Music). Sputnik Music says “Neon” is a “A different, creative, and really refreshing new entry into the hard rock genre.”

1 DANKO JONES Releases Controversial, Provocative New Video for “Legs” by Acclaimed Director Bruce LaBruce
It gives us great pleasure to present yet another intriguing visual installment from DANKO JONES, this time it is the official video for their latest single ‘Legs’. With acclaimed and often controversial Canadian director Bruce LaBruce at the helm they’ve produced a visually captivating video by mirroring the works of Pierre Molinier and applying an artistic yet eccentric use of sexuality.
LaBruce, who is best known for his sexually charged and culturally challenging productions have been looking forward to working with the band for a long time, says LaBruce, “I’ve known Danko and John for many years, and I went to many DANKO JONES shows when they were first starting out in Toronto and in New York./…/ After reconnecting with Danko last year at his book launch, we decided it was finally time for me to do a video for them.” The video itself is in line with the direct vision LaBruce had to create a spectacular and unexpected video for the song. “Danko suggested their song Legs, and for some reason I immediately thought of some of my sexy and leggy acquaintances in the M-F transsexual community. I really love the work of the famous photographer Pierre Molinier, whose gender bending photographs have influenced a variety of artists, so I decided to pay tribute to his work in the video.” Alongside LaBruce was art director Kenny Baird who, together with LaBruce, has worked notably with Floria Sigismondi on some of her most successful music videos, to help recreate the style and mood of Molinier.
Link to video: http://youtu.be/rvOtTkm0QHQ
This out of the box thinking has resulted in a striking and unique video to join the long list of video installments the band has made over the years including the Below The Belt trilogy and their documentary Bring On The Mountain (both directed by The Diamond Brothers). Danko says, “Why this collaboration with Bruce LaBruce didn’t happen sooner is beyond me. From writing the liner notes to our second release, to using our song in his 1999 movie, “Skin Flick/ Skin Gang”, Bruce’s connection to our band is irrefutable.”
This past year the band has been touring extensively. Not only have they sold out shows all over Europe and Canada, they have finished their two biggest US tours to date; supporting Volbeat across the country as well spending 5 weeks on the road with the 2013 Uproar Festival. They’ve also reached their highest ever radio ratings in the US with the single ‘Just A Beautiful Day’ peaking at no. 26 on the Active Rock charts.
This new collaboration with LaBruce is paving a new road of artistic creations for the band: “For us, Bruce directing ‘Legs’ has been a long time coming and of course, good things come to those who wait. This music video is a trip. We love it. We know you’ll love it too.”

2 Age of Days – Radioactivity (2013) – CD Review
It seems like every couple of years or so, there is a new modern rock act to catch my attention. In the case of Age of Days (formerly known as Age of Daze), they aren’t new at all. The band has been around since 2005, and their latest release Radioactivity is their second album. Their first album, Hollywood Ending, was released in 2008. Judging from the songs on Radioactivity, I need to seek out Age of Days’ first album asap.
Radioactivity is packed with a bunch of radio ready singles that could spawn a bunch of hits for these Canadian rockers. Age of Days sound may not be original, but in their music, I hear a great blend of bands like Theory of a Deadman, Nickelback, My Darkest Days and Hinder. In fact, Sal Costa (ex-My Darkest Days) co-wrote and played guitars on the song “Now or Never” along with Hinder’s Cody Hansen on drums. Their music might be derivative of these other modern hard rock acts, but with an album as good as Radioactivity, I could care less. Age of Days have crafted a bunch of catchy tunes, that with a little bit of luck, could help make them a very successful rock act in the U.S. and beyond.
Radioactivity has a good mixture of modern pop rock/hard rock, and there isn’t a bad song in the bunch. Of course, my favorites on Radioactivity are the hard rockin’ numbers “Bombs Away”, “Justify”, “I Did It For Love”, “Ready to Go” and “All I Know”.
Radioactivity is an album that I can listen to, from beginning to end without the need to skip songs. I have enjoyed this album greatly, and I think you will too.
You can pick up Radioactivity at Amazon.com & at iTunes. Check it out!

0 Stryper – No More Hell To Pay (2013) – CD Review
The wait is over! Stryper’s eighth studio album No More Hell To Pay is finally here. Good things come to those who wait, and No More Hell To Pay pays the listener massive dividends. This album delivers Stryper’s strongest and heaviest material since their 1988 classic album, In God We Trust. Big Vocals, bigger riffs and great songs, No More Hell To Pay has it all!
The album starts off with the heavy song “Revelation”. This song is classic Stryper all the way, and a fantastic lead off song for No More Hell To Pay.
The guitar tone for “No More Hell to Pay” takes me back to the Stryper classic “To Hell With The Devil”. This is a killer cut, and if you wondered if Michael Sweet lost any range in his voice, the answer is a most definite “no”! (Check it out in the video below).
Michael Sweet pushes his voice to new limits on the heavy rocker,”Saved By Love”. You have to hear this song to believe it. This is one amazing tune, and my new favorite from Stryper. I hope to hear them do this song live.
Stryper tears the roof off with their smokin’ cover of the Doobie Brothers hit, “Jesus is Just Alright”. This is easily one of the best cover songs I have heard in a long time. Stryper gave this song a great, heavy face lift, and it really works well.
“The One” does a good job changing the tempo on the album, and delivers a song that could get airplay, if DJ’s out there had a soul.
“The Legacy” is another face melting rocker that demands several replays just to register what you just heard. This is easily one of the heaviest Stryper songs to date.
“Marching Into Battle” sounds like it came out of the early 80’s and that is a great thing. This is one of those deep cuts that may not be hit material, but fans will appreciate this nonetheless. Michael Sweet again pushes his screams to the max on this tune.
I immediately hit replay after hearing “Te Amo” the first time. This is another tremendous rocker that is a feast for the ears. This song ought to be another big sing along tune for Stryper’s live set.
“Renewed” closes out No More Hell to Pay with another amazing rocker, and a song that is easily as good as the first.
Major kudos to Michael Sweet, Oz Fox, Robert Sweet and Tim Gaines. The yellow and black attack have released one of the best albums of their career. Michael Sweet’s voice has never been stronger, and the guitar work on this album is fantastic.
Clearly, No More Hell to Pay is an album that Stryper made for the fans, and it delivers all the way through. If you have ever listened or have been a fan of Stryper in the past, you are going to LOVE this album. If you do one thing this Tuesday, you should download the album from iTunes, or if you are old school like me, run (don’t walk) to your nearest music store and pick this CD up asap. You won’t be disappointed. No More Hell To Pay is one of the best albums of 2013. Get it now!! Highly recommended!!

2 The Winery Dogs – S/T (2013) CD Review
Respect. When I think of the musicians that make up the band The Winery Dogs, I have nothing but respect. Billy Sheehan, Mike Portnoy, and Richie Kotzen are amongst some of the best hard rock musicians to ever grace the stage. When I first heard about the Winery Dogs, I couldn’t wait to hear what the band had to offer. Sometimes when a so called supergroup comes out, the music isn’t quite what you expect it to be. That simply isn’t the case with the Winery Dogs. Every member of the the band shines on this release, and Richie Kotzen is the real X-factor, as his singing is far better than expected. Kotzen pushes his voice to the limit. His vocals are fantastic, and some of the best he has ever done.
The music on this CD oscillates between the decades, and gives the listener a nice voyage from the 70′s & 80′s classic rock, to some bluesier numbers, and some more modern offerings. If you have ever listened to some of Richie Kotzen’s solo releases, The Winery Dogs will seem pretty familiar to you. The music isn’t a far stretch from Kotzen’s solo material, and that is a great thing.
The major difference with The Winery Dogs, is you get the best rhythm section in hard rock, and you get the wicked solos from Mr. Sheehan, Mike Portnoy and Richie Kotzen.
The Winery Dogs give you great songs, and sophisticated jams that should satisfy even the pickiest hard rock fan. This is one of those albums that you can listen to from beginning to end, without the need to skip any songs. It really is that good.
This CD has been one of my favorites of 2013. If you haven’t picked it up, you should definitely give it a listen. I highly recommend it!!

1. Elevate
2. Desire
3. We Are One
4. I’m No Angel

10. Six Feet Deeper
11. Criminal

0 New Video – Joan Jett – Any Weather
JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS PREMIERE OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR “ANY WEATHER”
New Album Unvarnished Available Now
Rock n’ roll icon JOAN JETT & her Blackhearts have unveiled the anticipated official music video for the single “Any Weather,” which comes via her newly released album Unvarnished. Joan is fresh off the heels of her surprise performance at iHeartRadio Festival and her intimate record release show at Santos Party House in NYC. The new video – directed by Kevin Kerslake – was shot in Los Angeles, CA, and showcases a never-before-used camera technique to give the production a raw and classic aura.
“Embedding the theme of the video in the form of my approach, cinematically-speaking – my camera crew and I ripped apart two state of the art cameras, exposing their guts and effectively turning them into 21st Century versions of crude, antiquated devices,” explains director Kevin Kerslake on the unique filming techniques used during the video shoot. “They were the digital filmic equivalent of two tin cans and a piece of string.”
Joan has said that Unvarnished is the most introspective album she’s ever done. While still keeping to her signature sound, Jett observes her own life as well as life around her. From applauding the determination of Hurricane Sandy’s victims to lighthearted commentary on today’s trend of over-sharing, the new album touches a variety of subjects. Jett expanded her creative process to work with musicians Dave Grohl and Against Me!’s Laura Jane Grace, as well as Blackhearts guitarist Dougie Needles and drummer Thommy Price. In addition, Joan has continued her work with longtime writing partner/producer, Kenny Laguna. “It’s a real band album. Everybody was involved,” explains Joan. 0 CONCERT TRIBUTE FOR ROCK GUITAR LEGEND RONNIE MONTROSE HEADING TO DVD
When Ronnie Montrose passed away on March 3, 2012, friends and musicians immediately wondered what they could do to pay homage to one of rock’s all-time legendary – and influential – guitarists. The result was some of music’s most renowned artists uniting for a concert only a month and a half later (April 27) and performing Ronnie classics throughout the evening – which will now make its official DVD release on December 10, 2013, ‘Concert for Ronnie Montrose – A Celebration of His Life In Music.’
Recorded in San Francisco at the historic Regency Ballroom and mixed in 5.1 surround sound, the DVD features performance by Ronnie’s past band members in Montrose (Sammy Hagar, Denny Carmassi, Bill Church with Joe Satriani), Gamma (Davey Pattison, Denny Carmassi and Glenn Letsch with Marc Bonilla), performing both groups’ hits.
Additionally, Ronnie’s colleagues and people he mentored and produced over the 40 years of his career are featured as well, including Neal Schon (Journey), Ricky Phillips (Styx), Steve Smith (ex-Journey), Ed Roth, Jimmy Paxson (Stevie Nicks), Jeff Watson (ex-Night Ranger), Tesla, Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer (Kiss), Eric Martin (Mr. Big), and more.
The DVD will also include interviews, bonus features, a photo gallery, and an additional set of Ronnie’s hits by an all-star band featuring Chuck Terpo, Mario Cipollina, Tal Morris, Dave Meniketti and the members of Y&T. This was recorded and filmed at Bob Weir’s TRI Studios.
A trailer can be viewed below.
The iconic and legendary Ronnie Montrose has been called the Father Of American Hard Rock – an innovator and an incendiary guitar genius. In his short time with Van Morrison Ronnie created the iconic guitar riff for the classic song “Wild Nights”. In the Edgar Winter group he left even a bigger Mark with his catchy heavy-handed riffs on songs like “Free Ride” and “Frankenstein”. But it would be his self-titled release, MONTROSE that would become the cornerstone of American hard rock. This debut in 1973 crafted such classics as “Rock the Nation”, “Bad Motor Scooter,” and “Space Station #5.” It laid the ground work and became the template for bands like Van Halen and countless subsequent musicians. His musical Journey lead him to the creation of GAMMA where he crafted songs like “Voyager”, “Thunder And Lighting” and “Ready For Action”. Ronnie was always searching and reinventing himself musically. Venturing through a brief instrumental period he brought us both “Open Fire” and his masterpiece version of “Town Without Pity”.
And now, fans will be able to experience the music of Ronnie once again, with the new DVD, ‘Concert for Ronnie Montrose – A Celebration of His Life In Music.’

Lowery remembers, “BC and I started playing together when he was in Switched, and I knew that he would be the guitar player that I would one day create something special and lasting with. He has a great sense of melody with rhythm and solos and a great understanding of arrangement and what’s best for the song. He knows the difference between shredding and holding one note, and making that one note sing. He truly has his own style as an artist.” He continues, “with DC, when I met him on Halloween four years ago, from the first note he sang, I knew he was something special. He treats his voice like an instrument, always focused, pushing himself to finding new voices with each song. Lyrically, he believes in what he is singing. Never preaching, but expressing what he’s been through or seen in his life on the road. And lastly with the youngest member of the quartet Ryan Bennett, Lowery reflects, “Simply one of the baddest drummers to come to the rock ‘n roll scene in years. Grabbing some of his favorite drummers and making his own style with Eye Empire. He’s the guy that is always smiling staying positive until he gets behind the drums then he explodes.”
Musically, they have established a connection that has witnessed an organic swell. Audiences have grown, and the band is now a bona fide headliner. It has everything to do with chemistry. They push one another to stay fresh. Thus, the chosen title of EVOLVE for the upcoming album which follows the band’s independently released debut IMPACT. As Carpenter shares, “I am deeply connected to this story. You truly have to live by your heart and trust that life will lead you in the direction you are needed. I believed and it led me to Eye Empire. I will never take that for granted.”
The pre-order for physical goes live Monday, October 21st at www.eyeempire.storenvy.com/ while the album will be available via all digital retailers worldwide on October 29. 0 Vie’s Verses – Pearl Jam: Stronger Than They’ve Ever Been
This past Tuesday, Pearl Jam released their 10th studio album, Lightning Bolt. Prior to the release of the record, there was a lot of buzz and hype. The two singles that were released over the last three months, “Mind Your Manners” and “Sirens” had me excited that this new record could be their best album since the self-titled avocado release. Not only could it be their best album since then, Lightning Bolt could be their best album since Yield.
If you haven’t checked out Pearl Jam in a while, Lightning Bolt is a great place to get back on board with the band. They are currently on a fall tour of the U.S., and for anyone who has never seen them live, I say this: Pearl Jam is one band that you must see in concert before you die. Most of the shows for this fall tour still have tickets available for purchase, albeit not many and not the best seats. Key venues like Brooklyn and Seattle have been sold out since the minute tickets went on sale, so fans in that area (yep – that’s me) are out of luck unless they take a road trip. And if you’ve never seen the band live before, a road trip is worth the cost, time and effort. Pearl Jam is one of the greatest live acts I’ve ever witnessed.
It’s amazing to see that after 22 years, this band is still making solid, meaningful music. The latest single, “Sirens,” is the new “Black.” It is also the greatest Pearl Jam song ever recorded. Between the emotion with which lead vocalist Eddie Vedder sings, the brilliance of Mike McCready’s guitar solos and the haunting piano chords from Boom Gasper, “Sirens” hits every nerve in the soul of the listener. The lyrics are outstanding, highlighting Vedder’s skill in crafting a masterpiece with meaning. The song is also a perfect example of how well the band has aged over the years.
“Mind Your Manners” is reminiscent of “Spin The Black Circle” (from Vitalogy), but stronger and more enjoyable. “Lightning Bolt” is a phenomenal song that captures the Pearl Jam of today and includes another stupendous solo from McCready. Other notable tracks on the new album include “Let The Records Play” and the beautiful ballad, “Yellow Moon.”
Early era Pearl Jam is well represented on this album, although with a modern twist. Influences from Ten, Vs,, and Vitalogy can all be heard with clarity. Yet they are no longer singing about the youth movement and overtaking the world, Pearl Jam have now looked inward and are starting to feel the effects of aging and mortality. A lot of that emotion shows on Lightning Bolt, and is put to good use by the band. Themes of aging, doubt, uncertainty, and the end of life are all captured and exploited in a manner that only a magnificent veteran rock act like Pearl Jam could manage.
It’s been four years since Pearl Jam released their last studio album (Backspacer), but the long wait was well worth it. Lightning Bolt displays only the best of this storied band. Producer Brendan O’Brien worked closely with the group to ensure that only the highest quality was memorialized for this record. The hard work and long hours paid off, as Lightning Bolt is destined to be a number one album and help Pearl Jam reclaim the title of “most talked about rock band.” Although these days, it won’t be for their boycott of ticketing agencies, or their feuds with other famous musicians—this time it will be all about the performance.
In a couple of months when I am pouring over all of the new releases that I’ve heard this year, trying in earnest to pick my ten favorites of 2013, I can guarantee that Lightning Bolt will be battling for the top spot. If you get one new record this fall, Lightning Bolt should be it. And if you go to see one concert this autumn, Pearl Jam should be your concert of choice. And if you have an extra ticket and need a huge fan to keep you company, feel free to get in touch with me. I’d be happy to attend.

0 NERVER FEATURING CASEY DANIEL FROM SEVEN MARY THREE RELEASE ‘BULLFIGHTER’
NerVer featuring Casey Daniel from Seven Mary Three is gearing up to release Bullfighter, their debut Pavement Music release on October 29, 2013. Their single “No Cage” is currently being serviced to radio.
NerVer began as a solo studio project in 2004 by Casey Daniel (Seven Mary Three). After writing several records worth of material and honing in on the sound of the band, Casey found lead guitarist CodyMac in 2009, and they began recording the debut NerVer record, “twelve twenty one twenty twelve”. They released their first single, No Cage, in late 2009 gaining regular airplay on KDJE The Edge in Little Rock (even beating chart toppers Skillet and Adelitas Way in their band to band combat), WDIZ, and several other stations. In the fall of 2010, NerVer released their full record “twelve twenty one twenty twelve” to a great critical and fan response.
The band grew quickly in 2011, adding Marshall Hearne on drums and eventually adding Shane Scaramellino on bass. In late 2011, NerVer took their brand of hard rock to the stage booking shows at great venues throughout the Southeast such as House of Blues, The Social, and Wall Street Plaza. The band is now booked by the national booking agency Popular Music, and has shared the stage as direct support for several nationals (Candlebox, 7m3, Nonpoint, Adema, etc.) and played major festivals such as WJRR’s Earthday Birthday 20, Florida Music Festival, Orange Ave Jam, and 96 Rock’s Christmas Part in Cincinnati.
Check out NerVer’s video “No Cage” below.

2 Brand New Machine – The Devil Made Me Do It (2013) – CD Review
A couple of months ago, when my good friend Ryo Vie was in town, we did what most rabid music fans do. We went binge shopping at the local Cincinnati music stores. While rummaging through one of my favorite local haunts, Shake It Records, I stumbled upon the band Brand New Machine. Shake it Records had a listening station where I could hear the CD, The Devil Made Me Do It. After listening to the first three songs, I knew I wasn’t leaving the store without buying this CD.
I was dumbfounded that I didn’t know about this band already. I thought maybe I overlooked a press release, or got them mixed up with another band. Lets face it, there is Brand New, New Medicine, Machinehead, Brand New Sin, and several other bands with similar sounding names. Brand New Machine sets themselves apart by offering fans a classic sound with a modern twist. On The Devil Made Me Do It, I can hear a mix of KISS, Guns N’ Roses and maybe a little bit of Foo Fighters. This is one of those releases that you can listen to from beginning to end without the need to skip tracks. Their sound really works, and there isn’t a bad song on the CD.
Once I opened the CD booklet, I quickly discovered that Brand New Machine’s guitarist is none other than Michael Thomas. The same Michael Thomas who I have seen play with Faster Pussycat and Beautiful Creatures in the past. Not only does the band have a kickass guitar player, but they have one of the best new hard rock singers I have heard in a while. Front man, Brantly Thompson delivers the goods with his whiskey stained vocals on The Devil Made Me Do It.
One way or another, I was destined to find this CD, I am glad that I did. I love this disc, and I am pretty sure you will too!
Track Listing:

8. Blackout Overdose
9. Lettin’ It Roll
10. What Do I Gotta Do
11. Let Me Go

0 SPIDER ROCKETS JOIN SALIVA IN OCTOBER; NEW VIDEO “GOING DOWN” AVAILABLE NOW!
A week after releasing their first official video for “Going Down”, Spider Rockets will hit the road with Saliva in the midwest and the south. “We haven’t been on the road since our runs with Trapt earlier this spring,” admits lead singer, Helena Cos; “…but we haven’t visited the south in at least a couple of years! So that, along with Saliva being cool enough to share the stage with us is pretty awesome.”
Spider Rockets has a new stage show consisting of various backdrops, a smoldering rocket ship, probing searchlight, whips, megaphone and a mannequin head. “The rocket ship will be a work in progress, hopefully we won’t need to abort any missions!” jokes John Nap, the band’s guitarist. “But the real challenge as an opening band has been coming up with staging that won’t interfere with the headliner’s space; one that is modular enough to adjust from venue to venue, but that also packs light… And I believe we’ve found it.” John refers to a series self-standing vertical, retractable banners or scrims (neither, really) that can be extended, shortened, and rearranged depending on the size and configuration of the venue’s stage. Bassist, Greg Manning, adds: “We just hope we don’t end up with a ‘Stone Henge’ situation!”
The group also plans to bring along their four legged roadie/security guard, Lemmy, a 18 pound Dachshund with a bad attitude and a fierce appetite; “that little shit always sniffs out where I hide my meatball sub in the van,” bitches drummer, Dan Prestup.
Confirmed tour dates include:
October 2 Harley Davidson Biketown (Austintown, OH) w/ SALIVA
October 3 Jonny’s Roadhouse (Aurora, IN) w/ SALIVA
October 4 Beale Street Live (Indianapolis, IN) w/ SALIVA
October 5 Diesel Concert Lounge (Chesterfield, MI) w/ SALIVA
October 6 Centerstage Bar & Grill (Kokomo, IN) w/ SALIVA
October 8 Blackstock (Knoxville, TN) w/ SALIVA
October 9 Limelight (Nashville, TN) w/ SALIVA
October 10 Club Inferno (Scottsboro, AL) w/ SALIVA
October 11 Longbranch (Raleigh, NC) w/ SALIVA
October 18 The Saint (Asbury Park, NJ)
The tour is in support of the band’s current release, “Bitten,” produced in the band’s home state of New Jersey as well as Florida.
“Going Down,” the new video from the album can be seen below.

0 New Video – Mindcage – The Human Race; New Album “Our Own Devices” Out Tomorrow!
MINDCAGE RELEASES EPIC VIDEO FOR “THE HUMAN RACE;”
OUR OWN DEVICES DROPS TUESDAY 9/17
The official video for “The Human Race” from Florida-based progressive metallers Mindcage is available for viewing below!
The full album, OUR OWN DEVICES, drops Tuesday, September 17.
A dark and powerful short movie, the video introduces the character of Arabella Vash, a young woman who exists in a utilitarian clockwork society. She is becoming empowered by visions and dreams, and about to start her journey to find the band of rebels, The One Constant (portrayed by the band), that she will lead. “The Human Race” is her awakening, and call to power.
In search of an appropriate post apocalyptic steam punk setting for their video, Mindcage chose to film in the historical district of their hometown of Pensacola FL. With the vision, creativity and costuming skills of Airship Isabella [http://airshipisabella.com/], an authentic and innovative steam-punk troupe from New Orleans, Mindcage was able to convey their vision of The One Constant and the dystopian world in which they live.
Jason Thomsen directed and edited “The Human Race.” He recently served as assistant director on “Girl from Iceland” (a Kinematic Entertainment Production). The track features vocals by Hydrogyn’s Julie Westlake.
OUR OWN DEVICES is mixed by rock legend Michael Wagener (Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Alice Cooper, Megadeth, Dokken, and Overkill). The core members of Mindcage – Dietrick Hardwick (writer, guitarist), Brian Howell (bass) and Craig Nudo (drums) – have been connected personally and through music for almost thirty years. Jeff Hignite, a recent but important addition, brought not only lyrical contribution but also his powerhouse vocals.
TRACK LIST:
1. Cadence March
2. For All Mankind (The Dark Design)
3. Our Own Devices
4. The Human Race
5. At Full Steam
6. Firefly
7. The One Constant
8. Arabella’s Arc
9. The Serenity Sequence (Renaissance Pt. I)
10. The Grand Restoration (Renaissance Pt. II)
Dangerdog Music Reviews: 5/5 stars
Our Own Devices is quite impressive: between the idea, lyrics, vocal arrangements, brisk guitar, and accomplished arrangements, it easily stands in the fine tradition of conceptual progressive metal albums like Queensryche’s Operation Mindcrime. Very recommended.
OUR OWN DEVICES will be available on the band’s website www.mindcagemusic.com,
iTunes http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-human-race-single/id692323537, amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F7CDATY and at your favorite record store.
