0 Bonafide’s Ultimate Rebel Coming in August; Check out the Single “Too Fired Up” Below!

Its hard to believe that its nearly been three years since BONAFIDE´s last full length offering “Something’s Dripping” was first released
Above all, BONAFIDE has been building an ever growing audience all over Europe by constant touring. 2 long European tours, covering 12 countries, headlining and as support. Add to this, the countless festival appearances and week long tours of Spain and the UK and it can be easily seen, that these boys are Rock n Roll Road Rats on the up.. Quite simply, BONAFIDE is a band that knows, that success and longevity can only be achieved by hard work, which inevitably means non stop touring and keeping it Live.
The third single from that second album was the song “Fill your head with Rock”. A single that actually became an EP of unreleased songs and videos that raced to number 1 in the Swedish Mid-price chart and gave BONAFIDE a spot among the top songs of 2011 on Classic Rock Magazine’s annual list! A successful UK tour followed, culminating in a show at Islington O2 Academy in London.
2012 marks the year of “ULTIMATE REBEL”. An album packed with loud, energetic yet melodic hard rock, firmly rooted in heavy electric blues and steaming hot old school r´n´b.
The first single “Doing the Pretty” has already been A listed and on continued heavy rotation on several European radio stations The main album release will be supported by a second single / video, which will be released prior to the album, early August 2012.
This hotly tipped monster of an album, was recorded during two hectic weeks in engineer Conny Wall´s Gig Studio’s in Stockholm in February, and was produced by band front man and main songwriter Pontus Snibb.
This Summer,.. BONAFIDE have just played to a record breaking audience of over 10K on Sweden Rock Festival’s Zeppelin stage, and will continue to play festivals and clubs, doing their outstanding live shows in both Scandinavia and the UK before heading out on yet another European tour this fall.
“ULTIMATE REBEL” is out August 15 2012. For full details go to www.offyerrocka.com

1 Bonafide – Fill Your Head With Rock – Old, New, Tried & True(2011)
Swedish Rockers Bonafide have just released a new EP. Fill Your Head With Rock – Old, New Tried & True, has two songs from the band’s previous effort Something’s Dripping, plus some cool cover tunes, a new unreleased song, “Kick Me Out”, and the band’s videos “Hard Livin’ Man” and “No Doubt About It”.
I like the shortened version of “Fill Your Head With Rock” as well as “No Doubt About It”. They were amongst my favorites on Something’s Dripping. The real star on this EP is the unreleased song, “Kick Me Out”. This is a fun upbeat AC/DC influenced rocker, and the best song on the EP, in my opinion.
I found it interesting that two of the covers on this EP, “I Don’t Need No Doctor” (Ray Charles) and “I Can’t Explain” (The Who) have already been covered by W.A.S.P. and The Scorpions. For Bonafide to cover these songs, they had better put forward their best effort. Thankfully, that is exactly what Bonafide did. I think Bonafide’s version of “I Don’t Need No Doctor” is even better than the version from W.A.S.P. ‘s classic album, Inside the Electric Circus. I have always loved The Who’s “I Can’t Explain”, and Bonafide does a very good job with their cover.
“Nice Boys Don’t Play Rock ‘N’ Roll” is easily one of the biggest songs of Rose Tattoo’s career. Bonafide does a good job paying homage to Rose Tattoo with their version of this song.
Usually, I am not a big fan of cover tuness, but the cover songs on this EP give you a very good feel as to what Bonafide’s music is all about. If you have never listened to Bonafide before, Fill Your Head With Rock – Old, New, Tried & True is a cool way to discover this kick ass hard rock band.

2 Bonafide – Something’s Dripping (2009)
We have seen a crazy amount of good bands come of Sweden in the last couple of years. In 2007, Swedish rockers Bonafide released their self titled debut. I enjoyed their first disc quite a bit, but Bonafide has far exceeded that album with their sophomore effort “Something’s Dripping”. What does Bonafide sound like? How about Paul Shortino on steroids, fronting a band the caliber of Rhino Bucket. This is bluesy pub rock at its finest.
If the opening track “Dirt Bound” doesn’t knock you down on the first play, the following cut, “Hard Livin’ Man” will certainly deliver that one-two punch.
Mia Coldheart from Crucified Barbara shares vocal duties with Pontus Snibb on “Straight Shooters” I can only describe this as one bad-assed tune.
There are parts of the song “Elvis Chapel Blues” where Pontus Snibb nearly sounds like Paul Stanley from KISS. I think the song also has a Krokus like vibe going for it. Cool tune.
“Dog” is a high octane head banger that has to be fun to see live. (Neck brace is optional).
“Butter You Up” starts off a triumvirate of kickass rockers to close out Something’s Dripping.
I am a sucker for the bluesy riffs of “Swan Song”. If you don’t find your self rocking out to this tune, then your headphones must be broken.
The closer “Sicker Than I Think” sees Bonafide channeling their inner AC/DC, and it flat out rocks.
Go ahead and “Fill Your Head With Rock” by checking out Bonafide’s myspace here. Something’s Dripping may not be completely original, but it certainly entertaining! This is the type of music that will make you want to crack open a cold one, and enjoy your weekend! Recommended!
