0 Monster Truck – Extensive Touring With Buckchery And Then Alter Bridge Announced
Monster Truck is confirmed to appear as direct support for Alter Bridge on a USA coast-to-coast run. The 12-date tour will begin on April 14 in Dallas, TX and end on a to be announced date in May. The initial announced appearances on the itinerary are cited below.
Monster Truck was fortunate to appear as support for Slash when they first set their sights on the U.S. market. The guitarist shared, “Monster Truck is one of the few really down to earth rock n roll bands I’ve heard in the last couple of years. Hard, soulful & heavy.” Singer Myles Kennedy, who enjoys a prolific career as front man in Slash’s ensemble as well as being the vocalist of Alter Bridge, took an interest in Monster Truck. That relationship, and outspoken support, was the primary driver in delivering this run with two bands sharing the stage. Monster Truck guitarist Jeremy Wildman offers, “We are extremely excited to tour with one of the top rock acts in America and even happier to rejoin the road with our good friend Myles. See ya soon!” Vocalist and Bassist Jon Harvey adds, “Looking forward to watching many stellar shows by the Alter Bridge boys. Watch out America! A real rock ‘n roll tour is on the way!”
Monster Truck and Dine Alone Records have selected “The Lion” as the follow-up single to their debut hit “Sweet Mountain River” from the album, FURIOSITY. The lyric video premiered on GuitarWorld.com and can be viewed here: http://www.guitarworld.com/exclusive-monster-truck-premiere-lyric-video-lion. “Sweet Mountain River” received support, in the US, from rock stations across the country. In Canada, the song achieved the milestone of becoming #1 at the Active Rock, and Mainstream Rock, for eight consecutive weeks. The follow-up track, “The Lion” stood at the top of the Canadian rock charts for six weeks, with an impact date planned for U.S. radio in early 2014.
Monster Truck took home the 2013 Juno Award for Breakthrough Group of The Year, toured their home country of Canada with Alice In Chains, and established themselves as a major headlining attraction. In the U.S., the band has been very active, appearing with Kid Rock, Slash, Guns ‘n Roses, Sevendust, and others, performing for hundreds of thousands of rock fans over the course of this year. Overseas, the band appeared on a 29-date run of Europe supporting Vista Chino (formerly Kyuss). In March, 2014, Monster Truck return to Europe as headliners of the “Lords of the Riff, Volume 1” tour in association with Classic Rock and Metal Hammer Magazines.
The band has been filmed extensively as they travel the globe, and recently premiered a short-form documentary capturing their essence. It can be streamed here: http://youtu.be/IYLkY4mxcdk
Hailing from Ontario, Canada, Monster Truck was formed in 2009 by Jon Harvey (bass, lead vocals), Jeremy Widerman (guitar, vocals), Brandon Bliss (organ, vocals) and Steve Kiely (drums, vocals). What began as a side-project to their other more ‘serious’ bands quickly gained momentum and took on a life of its own. The band has released 2 EPs since their inception; a self-titled, and notably self-released EP produced by Gus Van Go & Werner F (The Stills, Priestess, Hollerado) and The Brown EP (also produced by Ratz) on Dine Alone Records.
Produced by Eric Ratz (Three Days Grace) at Vespa Studios in Toronto and Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville, NC, FURIOSITY showcases Monster Truck’s ability to seamlessly integrate influences from grunge and punk era greats that they love so dearly with alt-sounding vintage rock. The resulting album remains anchored in grooves, yet propulsive and volcanic, fueled by front man Jon Harvey’s colossal and impressive vocal delivery. The Huffington Post exclaimed, “…no-frills classic rock and roll — huge Les Paul guitar riffs, spacey organ fills, thunderous drums, bottom-heavy bass, and one powerful vocalist. The spirit of Stillwater and Grand Funk Railroad lives! I predict these lads will be playing much larger venues very soon.”

9 Hard Rock Hideout’s Top 10 Hard Rock & Metal Albums for 2013
There were a bunch of great releases in 2013 and each year it seems harder and harder to pick the 10 best. Ryo Vie and I have listed our 10 best hard rock and metal albums of 2013. Agree or Disagree? Let us know what your picks are in the comments below!!
Rob Rockitt’s Top Hard Rock & Metal Albums of 2013
I am glad 2013 is now in our rear view mirror. 2013 has hung heavily over my family on the injury and overall health and wellness. Not only has it affected my family members, I laid to rest two of my furry family members, Jake & Mia. On the music front, 2013 was pretty good. maybe not as strong as some of the recent past years. That doesn’t mean we were without quality music. There was a lot of great music that was released, and 2014 looks to be another great year for hard rock & metal music.
10. Death Angel – The Dream Calls for Blood
It had to happen sooner or later…. a band has out-thrashed the Big 4. Death Angel’s The Dream Calls For Blood is the best thrash metal album of 2013. When I first heard the title track “The Dream Calls For Blood” I was immediately hooked. This album is heavy, dark and sometimes brutal. It is Bay Area metal at its finest. This album also has a killer cover of Black Sabbath’s Heaven & Hell”.
9. Motörhead – Aftershock
You have heard one Motörhead, you have heard them all right? WRONG! Lemmy Kilmister and company prove they have plenty of fire left in them, and have crafted one of their best albums to date. I have all of 21 of their albums, and I have found Aftershock to be completely satisfying. Lemmy pulls out a bunch of new riffs for Aftershock, making this one of the most surprising albums of 2013. Fair warning, you may want to set your cruise control if playing this album while driving. It may be hazardous to your driving record.
8. Michael Monroe – Horns & Halos
Michael Monroe has done it again with his latest effort Horns & Halos. Monroe has crafted another great album. Horns & Halos is a little more punky and a little less glammy than 2011’s Sensory Overdrive, but it is a solid album all the way through.
07. Alter Bridge – Fortress
Man oh man, Alter Bridge quietly released their new album Fortress in October. With their album Blackbird being so great, I thought ABIII (2010) was a step backward for Alter Bridge. The band righted any wrongs with their new album Fortress. Fortress is Alter Bridge’s heaviest album to date. Myles Kennedy dishes out some powerful vocals, and Mark Tremonti’s riffs are drifting ever so closer to his metal roots.(Check out the video for Addicted to Pain below) Fortress is another one of 2013’s great surprises.
06. Stryper – No More Hell To Pay
If someone would have told me Stryper would release one of their best albums in 2013, I wouldn’t have believed it, but that is exactly what happened. No More Hell To Pay is packed with heavy riffs, and the fantastic vocals of Michael Sweet. No More Hell To Pay is one of Stryper’s heaviest albums, and packed with great songs. I am hopeful to see Stryper perform some of these in 2014. That would be a real treat!
05. Black Sabbath – 13
While the drama between Bill Ward and Black Sabbath continues, one thing is for certain, 13 is the strongest albums that Sabbath has ever released, and definitely one of the strongest with Ozzy Osbourne singing. If you didn’t pick up the bonus edition CD of 13 (available at Best Buy), you missed out one not one, but three killer Sabbath songs “Methademic”, “Peace of Mind” and “Pariah”. “Methademic” was a staple in Sabbath’s concert list this summer.
04. Tom Keifer – The Way Life Goes
Tom Keifer worked on his solo album for many years before finally releasing The Way Life Goes in 2013. The wait was well worth it, as the Cinderella front man has turned in one of 2013’s best rock albums. Getting to see Tom perform with his solo band was one of my favorite concert moments of 2013 too.
03. Airbourne – Black Dog Barking
Sooner or later, Airbourne is going to get the respect they deserve. The band released their third and arguably best album in 2013. This album has gotten countless plays from me in 2013, and will continue to be played for many years to come.
02. Winery Dogs – S/T
Billy Sheehan, Mike Portnoy, Richie Kotzen are some of the best hard rock musicians to ever grace the stage. With this in mind, I knew the Winery Dogs album would have to be awesome, and it is. Great songs, vocals and musicianship. The Winery Dogs are a dream band for any hard rock fan and should not be missed.
01. Brand New Machine- The Devil Made Me Do It
Sometimes simple is better…. Ever since I stumbled upon this album by complete accident in August of this year while music shopping with my buddy Ryo Vie, I have not been able to stop listening to The Devil Made Me Do It. Former Beautiful Creatures guitarist Michael Thomas has breathed some serious life into Brand New Machine. I am a sucker for good old 80’s style sleaze rock and The Devil Made Me Do It delivers from beginning to end. Check out the clips below and buy the album here!!
There were so many great albums in 2013, it wouldn’t be fair to not mention those albums that nearly made my top list. All of the albums below are very worthy of your hard earned dollars.
Age of Days – Radioactivity
Avenged Sevenfold – Hail To The King
Buckcherry – Confessions
Deep Purple – Now What?
Krokus – Dirty Dynamite
Megadeth – Super Collider
Pop Evil – Onyx
Sammy Hagar – Sammy Hagar & Friends
Sideburn – Electricity
Skillet – Rise
Suicidal Tendencies – 13
Voodoo Circle – More Than One Way Home
Ryo Vie’s 10 Favorite Hard Rock Albums For 2013
Another year is over. A new one has just begun. 2013 was a solid year for hard rock music lovers. Some exceptional albums were released by new comers, young stars, and the royal guard of the past. We were blessed with new music from Pearl Jam, Black Sabbath, and the return of Suicidal Tendencies.
Young bands like Pop Evil and Five Finger Death Punch released their best material to date. And a new band put out one incredible record. All in all 2013 was a fantastic year for music. We can only hope that 2014 will be just as great. And as we look forward to the new releases of 2014, let’s take a moment to reflect on the best releases of the past year. Here’s Ryo’s picks for the 10 best hard rock albums of 2013.
“Suicidal’s back, Suicidal’s back!” So sang Cyko Miko on the latest Suicidal Tendencies record, 13. This was a fantastic record that heralded the return of one of the best hard rocking bands around. 13 was a solid release that made me glad Suicidal Tendencies were back in action. Layered with multiple infectious grooves, powerful hooks, heavy guitars, and lots of funk and fun, 13 is a powerful album that takes the listener on a journey of musical styles with thrash always remaining as the main focus. Suicidal is back indeed— and we couldn’t be happier.
09. Five Finger Death Punch – The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell Volume 1
2013 was a very good year for Five Finger Death Punch. They released two terrific albums in the span of 10 weeks and both charted high on the Billboard charts, deservedly so. Both albums are exceptional works of art, and worthy of multiple listens. Volume One was an enjoyable, unexpected delight that really caught my ear and got my attention. And it was only the beginning of what was to come for this band in 2013. However, if this was the only record the band put out, it would have been good enough. Thankfully for hard rockers everywhere, Five Finger Death Punch wasn’t stopping at just one.
08. Hell Or Highwater – Begin Again
Atreyu drummer/vocalist Brandon Saller’s side project released one hell of a record this year. Begin Again is a stellar modern rock album packed with gems. The album had plenty of staying power and longevity and I found myself returning to it again and again as the year went on. That’s always the sign of an amazing record, which is just what Begin Again is. If this album somehow passed you by, I still recommend that you seek it out.
It was nice to see Buckcherry back with a new record in 2013. Most people may have forgotten about this album since it came out so early in the year (early January) and that’s a real shame, because Confessions is a strong record filled with enjoyable songs that rock eardrums hard. It was interesting to see Buckcherry put together a themed album, and they pulled it off, delivering a grand collection of songs on Confessions. I still listen to “Wrath” on a regular basis and it has become one of my favorite Buckcherry songs, up there with “Lit Up.” Yes, I did just state that.
06. Tom Keifer – The Way Life Goes
No Cinderella? No problem. Tom Keifer went solo and released the biggest surprise of 2013 with The Way Life Goes. I had no expectations when this record was released, and it absolutely blew my mind. After all that he has been through, it was amazing to see Tom Keifer can still make meaningful music, and that his voice still sounds as terrific as ever. It may be the best he’s ever sounded. The Way Life Goes has me hopeful to see Mr. Keifer at some of the festivals this year, particularly M3. With or without Cinderella, Tom Keifer is a force, and The Way Life Goes proves it.
The godfathers of heavy metal reunited (sans Bill Ward) and released a record. 13 is bound to be on everyone’s top 10 list this year, simply because it’s Black Sabbath and that creates a lot of exposure. However, the record deserves to be on most top 10 lists because it’s a spectacular album. Returning to the early sound of Black Sabbath (from their debut release), 13 is a mind trip of amazing music performed by real heavy metal pioneers. Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Ozzy Osbourne worked hard to create a sound that was true Black Sabbath—and they succeeded marvelously. 13 is a magnificent release and one that any hard rock fan should own.
04. Avenged Sevenfold – Hail To The King
Avenged Sevenfold just keeps getting better and better with every record they release. If there is any successor to the great Iron Maiden, Avenged Sevenfold are it. Their music is complex, layered in multiple guitar riffs, complicated drum beats, and heavy bass lines that pull every note together into a harmony of joyful sound. Hail To The King is certainly Avenged Sevenfold’s best album yet and catapults the band to the next level of greatness. If you haven’t spent much time with Avenged, or if you don’t own any of their albums, Hail To The King is a great place to start.
2013 was a good year for Pop Evil fans. The band continued their endless touring opening for any band that would have them, their live act became better than it ever has been, and they released their hardest album to date, Onyx. I admit, it took me a few spins to get into Onyx, but once I did, I couldn’t get out. I still listen to this album on a weekly basis and continue to find new parts to fall in love with. Pop Evil worked hard to get away from the acoustic ballads they were becoming known for and went to a much darker place. The result was magnificent and Onyx was a serious contender for best album of 2013.
02. Pearl Jam – Lightning Bolt
As is usually the case when Pearl Jam releases a new record, expectations were high. It had been four years since their last release, which was scattered at best. Many fans were wondering if Pearl Jam still had the goods and if they did, could they still deliver. And then the band released the first single, “Mind Your Manners.” Most doubts were squashed right there. Then the band released their next single, “Sirens.” Even critics jaws dropped at that point. “Sirens” is one of the best Pearl Jam songs ever recorded, and Lightning Bolt is one of the band’s best records ever released. In 2013, only one band could make a record better than Lightning Bolt.
01. Five Finger Death Punch – The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell Volume 2
When a band has two albums in a top 10 list for one year, it’s obvious that the band has had one magnificent year. Such is the case for Five Finger Death Punch. After the release of Volume 1, I was curious to see what Volume 2 would bring, but felt there was no way it would be better. I have never been more wrong about an album in my life. Volume 2 is one of the greatest records I have ever heard. It blends the perfect mix of hard, heavy, angry, introspective, and soft at just the right times. Volume 2 contains power, emotion, and a level of magnificence that is hard to find on a record. Without question, if you only purchase one release from 2013, The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell Volume 2 has to be it. It will be a long time before you hear a better record.

Think you’re strong enough to play this game? BUCKCHERRY fulfill the need to be broken in “Wrath,” the third music video from their current studio release ‘Confessions’.
“They say it’s the quiet ones you gotta look out for, you know why? Because they keep all their wrath inside…” says BUCKCHERRY frontman Josh Todd of the song. “This is a fight song – fuck the system or the system fucks you!” The official “Wrath” music video can be viewed below:
The video was directed by Billy Jayne, who also directed “Gluttony” (watch here), the first single released from ‘Confessions.’ “Wrath” is the third video to be released from the album, and the follow-up to “Nothing Left But Tears” (watch here).
Buckcherry are currently touring overseas in Europe, the United Kingdom and Australia through December 12. They celebrate the new year with a hometown show January 17, 2014 at The Whisky A GoGo in West Hollywood, CA.

0 BUCKCHERRY Premiere “Nothing Left But Tears” Music Video; Watch Video And Enter To Win A Guitar Signed By BUCKCHERRY; Band On Tour All Summer In America;
BUCKCHERRY have partnered with Ultimate-Guitar.com to premiere the official music video for their new single “Nothing Left But Tears” and give away an Epiphone guitar autographed by the band. Debuting today, “Nothing Left But Tears” is the first video of BUCKCHERRY’s career to not feature the band in a performance setting – instead, each of the members personifies one of the seven deadly sins… the same deadly sins that inspired the band’s new album ‘Confessions.’
“It’s evil, powerful, creepy and fun – it’s an incredible piece of art,” says BUCKCHERRY frontman Josh Todd of the video, with director Daniel Gomez adding, “we’re taking a step into the dark and seeing what happens afterwords…” Watch the video here:
Every fan that watches “Nothing Left But Tears” at the Ultimate-Guitar.com page hosting the video between now and September 13 can enter to win an Epiphone guitar autographed by BUCKCHERRY.
Says Gomez of the ambitious video project: “It opens in a roadside motel where there was a murder-suicide, and the video is the aftermath. Our character comes back from the dead and walks into a tunnel that is the pathway to hell and ends up in an ‘Alice In Wonderland’ meets ‘Dante’s Inferno’ tea party where six of the seven deadly sins are having a party in the middle of the forest – our interpretation of hell.”
Adds BUCKCHERRY guitarist Keith Nelson: “There are so many cool characters in the video, and it’s the first video where we didn’t played instruments, it was a lot of fun to do something different.”
Produced by Los Angeles-based Marco De Molina and his Veva Entertainment Company, a behind-the-scenes featurette shot throughout the making of the video can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8nGtSCZUvE
“Nothing Left But Tears” is the second single from ‘Confessions,’ BUCKCHERRY’s debut release on Century Media Records. The band remain on the road all summer, culminating in an appearance at the Monster Energy Aftershock festival September 14, where they share a stage with fellow heavyweights KORN, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, VOLBEAT, IN THIS MOMENT and more.

0 New Video – The Last Vegas – She’s My Confusion
Chicago rockers The Last Vegas are back with another eye-catching music video for the song “She’s My Confusion” off the band’s fourth full-length album, Bad Decisions, released last fall through FrostByte Media. The video is produced and directed by the Chicago-based video production company Motion Source Video Solutions, the same team responsible for the “Evil Eyes” music video. Click to watch “She’s My Confusion” below.
The video is based on a well-known Chicago area ghost story named Resurrection Mary that’s been around since the ’30s. The young woman, Mary, had spent the evening dancing at the Oh Henry Ballroom (now the Willowbrook) with a boyfriend. Following an argument that evening Mary stormed out into the cold winter’s night, leaving the ballroom behind and walked along Archer Avenue. Not long after, she was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver who fled the scene leaving her to die. The story survives through the many men who claim picking up a young female hitchhiker along Archer Avenue between the Willowbrook Ballroom (which is the locale for the video) and Resurrection Cemetery. When reaching the cemetery, the young woman is let out only to disappear into the cemetery.
“The Willowbrook Ballroom is a Chicago musical institution; one bad-ass, old-school place which drips of mystery, intrigue and aura. What better place to film an unconventional rock video for ‘She’s My Confusion?’ We stepped back in time and addressed whether those noises we hear in the night are real, or just a dream?” – Adam Arling
TLV are a straight-up rock n’ roll meets garage/punk rock band that turn any event into a raucous. Hailing from Chicago and formed in 2005, TLV burst onto the national scene in 2009 when Motley’s Crue’s Nikki Sixx saw them play live in Los Angeles and subsequently co-produced their third album, Whatever Gets You Off. More touring followed, including a stint opening Motley Crue’s “Saints Of Los Angeles” tour. The Onion referred to their sound as “Swaggering, stomping, balls-out guitar rock”, while The Chicago Sun-Times declared them to be “Red hot garage-rockers.” The Last Vegas is: Chad Cherry (vocals), Adam Arling (guitars), Danny Smash (bass), Nate Arling (drums) and Johnny Wator (guitars).
TLV are in studio this month laying down tracks for their fifth full-length album, title yet to be determined, working with the great Roy Z (Judas Priest, Bruce Dickinson, Sepultura) and immediately following up with a North American tour and then a European tour supporting Buckcherry and Hardcore Superstar, but they’re not doing any of that alone. Partnering with fans through PledgeMusic, TLV are offering up a variety of great exclusive opportunities like a studio hang, an acoustic performance/backyard BBQ and more!

0 BUCKCHERRY’s New Album ‘CONFESSIONS’ Enters Billboard Top 200 Album Chart at #20 With Over 18,000 Copies Sold
Buckcherry‘s new Confessions CD has debuted at #20 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart with 18,548 copies sold in its first week of release. The disc also enters both the Billboard Hard Music Album chart and Metal Album chart at #1, and was the best-selling new album of the week. In the digital music realm, Confessions maintained the #1 position on the iTunes Rock Album chart throughout release week. Confessions was released February 19, 2013, is Buckcherry‘s sixth studio album, and is their first U.S. release for Century Media Records.
Buckcherry‘s Josh Todd says, “Confessions is a very personal record, and one of our best — and we want to thank all our loyal fans for going out and supporting rock n’ roll!”
The songs on Confessions merge punk grit, gutter attitude, honest storytelling, and razor sharp hooks, while the lyrics are tied together by the underlying theme of the Seven Deadly Sins.
Buckcherry is currently on the road supporting Kid Rock as special guests on the Rebel Soul tour. To celebrate the release of their new album, the multi-platinum Los Angeles rock band–Josh Todd (vocals), Keith Nelson (guitar), Stevie D. (guitar), Jimmy Ashhurst (bass), Xavier Muriel (drums)–will headline three intimate hometown shows at The Viper Room in West Hollywood on March 7, 8 and 9, between legs of the Kid Rock tour.
Confessions’ first single “Gluttony” continues to build at Active Rock radio, as is evident on the sales front, where the track had its biggest week to date moving 4,831 singles on iTunes. The provocative video for “Gluttony”–directed by Billy Jayne and filmed in a North Hollywood church–can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4tf9Q83ERg.
Buckcherry continues to receive praise for Confessions. Here’s a sample of recent media accolades:
“…Confessions is Buckcherry’s strongest effort to date. Brutally honest, but also steeped in the kind of dirty and hooky riffy songwriting that has made the Los Angeles-based band a favorite among fans of old school hard rock.”
–Chris Epting, AOL Noisecreep.com, February 26, 2013
“Confessions will be recognized as one of the best records of the year…”
–Chris Arnold, HardRockHaven.net, February 19, 2013

0 Buckcherry – Confessions (2013)
Last week, Buckcherry released their sixth album, Confessions. Confessions was originally slated for a 2012 release, and I am glad the band didn’t rush this one out. Good things come to those who wait. You see, not only does Confessions contain some of Buckcherry’s strongest song writing to date, the band’s playing is also a step above their previous releases.
With Confessions, Buckcherry tackles the seven deadly sins. Gluttony, wrath, envy, sloth, greed, pride and lust are all represented on Buckcherry’s latest opus, and are also seven of the album’s song titles. The lyrics are based on singer Josh Todd’s childhood, and his transformation into adulthood. The lyrics are a step above the normal song writing from Buckcherry. Those looking for “Crazy Bitch” part two, won’t find it on Confessions. What you will find however are some well crafted songs that absolutely rock.
This is the first Buckcherry album that I could listen to all the way through since 15 was released. The only negative I could find with this album, is that it lacks the sing along choruses that have made so many of Buckcherry’s songs popular. It may be a different style of writing for Buckcherry, but I couldn’t find one bad song on Confessions.
With that being said, I still think this is Buckcherry’s strongest album since 15, and one that is going to get a ton of replay in 2013 and beyond. If you haven’t picked up Confessions yet, I highly recommend checking it out! The extended edition of this CD ( available at Best Buy) includes two great bonus songs, “Give ‘Em What They Want” and “When the Fire Starts” and a cool DVD as well. Don’t miss this!

0 New Video – Buckcherry – Gluttony
Buckcherry has released a provocative new video for “Gluttony”–the first single from their new Confessions album. The daring clip was directed by Billy Jayne and features the band performing the song in a church filled with people indulging in all types of vices, while the video’s protagonist struggles to overcome his own gluttony.
Check out the clip here:
The multi-platinum Los Angeles rock band will release Confessions February 19, 2013 via Century Media Records and the “Gluttony” single is available for purchase through iTunes now (http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/gluttony-single/id584509774).
Buckcherry vocalist Josh Todd explains the inspiration for the “Gluttony” video: “The concept of the video is excess, consuming everything excessively, and moderation is not even in the equation. I’m very familiar with that, and a lot of guys in the band are familiar with that.”
He continues: “Because the record is called Confessions, we filmed the video in a church, we got Jesus down there–which is killer–and we got a lot of our fans in it, which is amazing. They came out on their own time and really put in a lot of sweat equity, so thank you to them.”
Guitarist Keith Nelson elaborates, “We worked with Billy Jayne, who hasn’t done a lot of music videos. It was really refreshing to see his take on what we’re doing because he totally gets the music, he’s connecting with it, and he’s taking it to a different place than a guy who does videos for a living. We got a guy who actually makes movies and TV shows to put his spin on it and it’s been really positive.”
Buckcherry is currently on the road headlining North American shows and will join Kid Rock as special guests on the upcoming Rebel Soul Tour beginning February 2 in Kansas City, MO. The first leg of the tour runs through March 2 and band has also been added to the second leg of dates for trek which run from March 18 in Sioux Falls, SD through April 6 in Saginaw, MI.
While on tour, Buckcherry is previewing songs from Confessions, the band’s sixth studio album and first U.S. release for Century Media Records. 0 BUCKCHERRY to Release “Confessions” in Early 2013 on Century Media Records
BUCKCHERRY are proud to announce that their next studio album, Confessions, will be their first domestic release with new label Century Media Records. The album is planned for an early 2013 release on Century Media in the United States and via Eleven Seven Music worldwide, with new tracks to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
“The time has come to finally announce the release of our sixth LP, Confessions,” says Buckcherry frontman Josh Todd. “This is our coolest album yet and I think a lot of people will relate, if you love BC you are going to get a chance to be part of a great story – join the revolution and let’s rock!”
Buckcherry are one of the premier rock bands of the new millennium, having sold more than three million records in America alone and touring virtually non-stop, playing with everyone from AC/DC to Slipknot, touring sold-out arenas alongside Nickelback and KISS, and headlining festivals ranging from the punk rock Ink-N-Iron (also featuring the Misfits and Pennywise) to Sturgis. “This is, by far, our most ambitious record,” says guitarist Keith Nelson, who co-founded Buckcherry with Todd in 1995 after the duo met in a Los Angeles tattoo shop. “We are very proud of the work we’ve done and we are looking forward to presenting it to our fans.”
Confessions is an album based on the seven deadly sins, and is part of a larger vision that includes a film written by Josh Todd, who based the album’s lyrics on his childhood and transformation into adulthood.
Buckcherry remain on the road throughout 2012, appearing in Japan later this month and returning to the United Kingdom Nov. 20 – Dec. 10.

1 Download Buckcherry’s first Christmas song, “Christmas is Here”
Buckcherry has been wanting to write an original Christmas song for some time and never had opportunity until now. “Christmas Is Here” got started with a simple melody in the spirit of traditional Christmas songs, then Josh took the melody to Keith who came up with the music and it came together very quickly with all 5 of us jamming up at the Bastard Ranch where “All Night Long” was made. Like everything Buckcherry we hope it puts a smile on your face. Merry Christmas.

3 Buckcherry – All Night Long (2010)
Does Buckcherry ever rest? It seems like they have been on tour non stop since the first Cruefest tour in 2008. When the band announced the release date of their new album, I was pretty surprised how quickly this one came after the semi-disappointing Black Butterfly album.
Quite honestly, my expectations were kind of low for All Night Long. I heard that prior to the release that this album would be profanity free. Sure, you don’t really need all of the cursing in rock, but that has pretty much been Buckcherry’s style from the beginning. I don’t know if they were taking the advice of label executive, but they definitely cleaned up song writing for All Night Long. This style doesn’t really fit their bad boy image, which they have also seemingly toned down for this album. Even though All Night Long is clean, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t rock. It definitely has some rockin’ moments.
The first two songs deliver that one two punch to get things started. Chances are you have heard “All Night Long” several times by now. This is pretty cool tune, and how could you not love the cowbell to start things off. “It’s A Party” is another monster anthem that could be All Night Long‘s answer to “Crazy Bitch”. They lyrics are simple, and ridiculously catchy. I expected this song to explode once it is released as a single.
Buckcherry quickly slows it down for the song “These Things”. Every time I listen to this song, Shinedown comes to my mind. For whatever reason, this sounds more like one of their tunes, than Buckcherry’s. I don’t know what it is about this song, but I just can’t get into it.
“Recovery” reminds me a lot of “Broken Glass” from 15. No, the songs aren’t the same but they share the same heaviness and upbeat tempo. Both songs rock hard as a result.
Keith Nelson plays the slide guitar on “Liberty”, and give this song a southern rock edge to it. This was completely unexpected, and cool at the same time.
“Dead” might be the best closer of ANY Buckcherry album. This is easily the heaviest song on All Night Long, and in my opinion, the best. Don’t believe me? Listen to the guitar work from Keith Nelson, and Stevie D. on this one, and tell me otherwise. This song flat out rocks!
Overall, this feels more like a follow up to 15, than Black Butterfly did. Even though this is not as good as 15, All Night Long is good enough to put Buckcherry back on top. There are several songs that will definitely be hits for the band. If you purchase this CD at Best Buy, you will get a bonus disc with six acoustic songs. This bonus disc includes the song their previous album was named after, “Black Butterfly”.
