Fresh off a string of dates with REV THEORY, GIRL ON FIRE has wasted no time getting their show back on the road. Starting on January 12th, GIRL ON FIRE will head out with Burn Halo (featuring former members of 18 Visions) and Hell or Highwater (featuring former members of Atreyu) in support of their Hollywood Waste debut EP, Revenge. “We can’t tell you how happy we are to get back out on the road so soon, and with two amazing bands,” says vocalist Austin Held. “The tour will be a trip through most western states, so east coast friends hang tight because we will get out to hang with you all soon! For now, please check out the new tour dates on our Facebook page and please don’t forget to check out Burn Halo and Hell or Highwater. We will see you very soon!”
Following these dates, the band will head back into the studio to put the finishing touches on their full-length debut which will be hitting stores in Spring of 2012. A full list of dates can be seen below.

0 KYNG CONFIRMS TOUR DATES WITH DROWNING POOL AS FIRST SINGLE, “FALLING DOWN,” CONTINUES TO BUILD A BIG PRESENCE AT RADIO
The story is building for the Southern California trio KYNG–singer/songwriter/guitarist Eddie Veliz, bassist Tony Castaneda and drummer Pepe Clarke Magaña—whose debut album, TRAMPLED SUN, is due out September 27 on REALID Records (through Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group).
KYNG recruited Cam De Leon, the acclaimed artist who’s best known for his work with Tool, to create the cover and booklet artwork for TRAMPLED SUN.
The album’s first two singles, “Falling Down” and “Trails in Veins,” were mixed by Mike Watts (Adelita’s Way, Hopesfall, Quicksand, Brand New).
“Falling Down” is in heavy rotation on SiriusXM’s “Octane” channel, while “Trails In Veins” can be heard on the “Liquid Metal” channel, thanks to the support of Program Director Jose Mangin, who has championed KYNG since hearing early demos a couple of years ago, some of which were played on “Octane” before TRAMPLED SUN was even in the works. SiriusXM was instrumental in bringing the band to what became their record label (REALID/ILG) and managers (In De Goot, who also represents Shinedown, Chevelle and others).

KYNG’s self-proclaimed “California Heavy” sound is a unique and universally appealing combination of heavy and captivating concepts, channeling influences from Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin to Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age.
Reminiscent at times of the metal and hard rock of the late 1970s in style and musical collection, with a presentation that is totally heavy, classic and modern-day all at once, they are sure to refresh the Active Rock and Metal landscapes of today and tomorrow. As drummer Pepe Clarke Magaña puts it, “I think we’re doing stuff, or a combination of stuff, that has been done before, in a way that has never been done before.”
Before KYNG was a glimmer in the trio’s eyes, bassist Tony Castaneda and drummer Pepe Clarke Magaña were members of the Latino metal band Ankla, which toured across the U.S. with bands such as Ill Nino, Nonpoint, In This Moment, and Hatebreed. They were also a part of Ozzfest in 2007.
Now that the band has completed dates with The Sword, Black Stone and Cherry and Pop Evil, they’ll be launching a brief jaunt with Drowning Pool before re-teaming with Pop Evil in September, with appearances at WJJO-FM’s Taste of Madison and KPNT-FM’s Pointfest in St. Louis happening along the way. 0 Burn Halo – Up From The Ashes (2011)
Burn Halo is back with their sophomore effort, Up From the Ashes. On Burn Halo’s debut, the band had a helping hand from Synnester Gates, Daniel Adair and more. They helped James Hart create a cool CD with some excellent stand out tracks like “Dirty Little Girl” and “Save Me”.
The band backing up singer James Hart on Up From the Ashes is completely different from the band that recorded the debut. With that being said, Up From the Ashes is sort of a second debut for the Burn Halo.
I have liked James Hart’s voice since his days in Eighteen Visions, and his vocals are in fine form on this CD. I can hear the influence of Avenged Sevenfold on some of the songs, and I thought that was kind of cool. I kept looking for a track to stand out amongst the rest on Up From The Ashes, and that song is “Dakota”, a heavy rocker which was written by Burn Halo’s guitarist, Brandon Lynn.
“I Won’t Back Down” and “Dakota” are the heaviest tunes on the album. This is a direction I would like to see Burn Halo move towards. I say this because far too many of the song on Up From The Ashes fall in that mid tempo modern rock style that is unidentifiable. When Burn Halo breaks out of the modern rock comfort zone, they truly shine, and in my opinion, that is what people are going remember the most. With so many bands in the modern rock genre, bands have to start doing something to differentiate themselves from another. Burn Halo has the talent to do that, but they don’t do it anywhere enough on Up From The Ashes. Drummer Dillon Ray has added some serious kick to Burn Halo’s music. We he cuts loose on the album, the music really takes off on its own. Joey Roxx and Brandon Lynn have plenty of cool licks on the album, but there are cases where I wish there was more.
While I don’t think Up From the Ashes quite lives up to Burn Halo’s debut, it isn’t a sophomore slump either. The standout tracks are “Tear it Down”, “Dakota”, “I Won’t Break Down” and the rockin’ album closer “Shine”. Now that James Hart has a solid lineup in place for Burn Halo, the potential for success is extraordinary. Up From the Ashes should be a launch pad for future successse for Burn Halo.

3 Burn Halo – S/T (Release Year – 2009)
Former Eighteen Visions singer James Hart is back with his brand new rock band “Burn Halo”. James Hart has collaborated with Zac Malloy (The Nixons) to write a disc full of radio ready tunes that should put Burn Halo on the rock and roll map, and in your CD player quickly.
If you aren’t completely hooked by the time you have listened to the stadium anthem, “Dirty Little Girl”, there are several more songs that will get their hooks into you. “Dirty Little Girl” was my first introduction to Burn Halo, and immediately took a liking to this band. Burn Halo gets a little bit of help on this song by Avenged Sevenfold guitarist Synnester Gates who plays on this song (and also appears in the video below). Gates also wrote the track Anejo on this CD.
It is a shame that Hart couldn’t keep some of the musicians that helped him create this CD. The drums were laid down by Daniel Adair from Nickelback, Neal Tiemann (who is now with American Idol winner David Cook’s band) provided the guitars.
So what does Burn Halo sound like? I think their sound falls somewhere between Eighteen Vision & Rev Theory. James Hart’s voice has never sounded better. His vocals really help push the songs on the CD over the edge.
The song writing on this CD is very good, in fact it is better than a lot of the music that the veteran acts are releasing to radio today. This disc is filled with a bunch of catchy tunes, and there isn’t a bad song in the lot.
Some of my favorites on this CD are “Dirty Little Girl”, “Save Me”, “Back To the Start”, and “Gasoline”.
It seems like every year, a couple of really good modern hard rock albums come out. In 2009, Burn Halo will definitely be one of the highlights! You can get your own copy of this CD, in the HRH Music store. Check it out!

Static-X will be hammering out their heaviest, most flammable work to date at Sno-Core 2009 in support of their new release CULT OF STATIC, on Reprise Records. The album marries the band’s aggressive driving force with disarming experimentation, a performance you do not want to miss.
Keeping the integral tones, Static-X encompasses shredding guitars with solos that have brought the band to a level of playing to be reckoned with. 0 Burn Halo Sets Release Date For Self-Titled Debut Album, Announces More Tour Dates
Burn Halo, featuring former Eighteen Visions singer/songwriter, will be releasing their self-titled debut March 10 on Rawkhead Records (through Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group).
The album’s first single, “Dirty Little Girl,” which features a guest appearance by Avenged Sevenfold’s Synyster Gates, is already getting spins on radio stations around the country, and is in regular rotation on Sirius XM Satellite Radio’s “Octane” station. A video for the track was recently shot in at the Slide Bar in Orange County, CA with Nate Weaver (Against Me!, Taking Back Sunday) at the director’s helm, and will hit the TV and Internet airwaves within the coming weeks.
Anyone who was watching the Dallas Cowboys/Baltimore Ravens football game on the NFL Network on Saturday, December 20 might have heard another song from the album, “Our House,” during the broadcast. The track will also be heard during a recap of the college football season for “College Football Now” on the NFL Network, which will air this week and weekend, and will be streamed simultaneously on the station’s website. Fans should check local listings for details.
Never losing momentum after the break-up, Hart landed a label deal with Island/Def Jam and began working almost immediately with songwriter Zac Maloy on what would eventually become BURN HALO’s debut album. Between May and October of 2007, Hart made week-long treks to Tulsa, OK to write and demo with Maloy. “I knew that I wanted a clear-cut rock ‘n’ roll band, which is something I had not had in the past,” Hart says of the music.
“My vision and my brand of rock ‘n’ roll without having to compromise on any of the songs or any of the material. I wanted to make a very straightforward rock album, something that had commercial appeal, but also something that had a classic, vintage mid-‘80s throwback vibe to it.”
Hart recorded the album from October to November of 2007 with Maloy as producer, laying down the tracks with an army of skilled studio musicians, including Nickelback drummer Daniel Adair, former Jane’s Addiction bassist Chris Chaney, guitarist Neil Tiemann (who now tours with “American Idol” winner David Cook), and Avenged Sevenfold’s Synyster Gates (who appears on the “Dirty Little Girl” and “Anejo”).
In the studio, Maloy was particularly helpful in getting the best possible vocal performance out of Hart. As he explains, “I really felt like he was able to grasp what I wanted to do and where I wanted to take this. From a producer standpoint I feel like he really knocked it out of the park. As a vocalist he was able to bring a lot out of me instead of having me go through the motions and just get the part right, emoting a little more than I have in the past. He was really able to pull a lot of character out of my voice.”
“I think this is a real statement album for me,” Hart continues. “Anyone who is familiar with me and my past is going to be able to get this record. They’re going to understand why I made this record and that this is the record I’ve been wanting to make.”
After the album was completed in early 2008, Island/Def Jam elected not to release it, leaving Hart with the tough job of finding a new home for his project. Nothing felt quite right, though, so BURN HALO’s manager Bret Bair formed his own label Rawkhead Rekords and partnered with Warner Music Group to release the record. Hart spent much of 2008 finalizing the line-up of his touring band–which he hopes will help write and record BURN HALO’s next albums–with Aaron Boheler on bass, Joey Sin on lead guitar, Allen Wheeler on rhythm guitar, and Ryan Folden on drums.
BURN HALO’s new ensemble has already been racking up tour dates with bands such as Avenged Sevenfold and their next jaunt will be with Escape The Fate and Black Tide starting February 5 in Pomona, CA. A summer tour is already in the works and should be announced in the coming weeks.
