BAND TO PREVIEW NEW MATERIAL ON THE ROAD

BUSH LIVE FROM AUSTIN, TEXAS DVD NOW AVAILABLE

Earlier this week, multi-platinum rock band BUSH launched a North American tour with a sold-out show at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Houston, Texas. The band’s set included two brand-new songs, “This House Is On Fire” and “Loneliness Is A Killer,” both recently written during sessions for their upcoming album, due out later this year. The U.S. tour will be followed by dates overseas, including shows in Russia, London and Vienna, among others (see itinerary below).

BUSH (vocalist Gavin Rossdale, guitarist Chris Traynor, bassist Corey Britz, drummer Robin Goodridge) recently released Live From Austin, Texas, an electrifying concert DVD featuring footage from an August 2011 sold-out show at Stubbs. The disc, also available on Blu-ray, features fan favorites “Machinehead,” “Glycerine” and “Comedown” – along with new hits “All My Life,” “The Afterlife”  and “The Sound of Winter.”

BUSH made rock radio history with “The Sound of Winter,” becoming the first band ever to hit No. 1 at Alternative Radio with a self-released single. The song appears on the group’s most recent release, THE SEA OF MEMORIES, which was the first Bush disc to be released via the band’s own imprint, Zuma Rock Records.

“The Sound of Winter” also holds the distinction of being the reunited group’s first No. 1 single since 1999’s chart-topping hit, “The Chemicals Between Us.”

Over the course of their career, Bush has sold more than 16 million albums in the U.S. and Canada alone. They’ve also compiled an amazing string of 15 consecutive Top 40 hit singles on the Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock charts, including 11 that hit the Top 5.  Five of these became No. 1 hits: “Comedown,” “Glycerine,” “Swallowed,” “The Chemicals Between Us” and “The Sound of Winter.” In 2008, Rossdale returned to the top of the charts with his solo single, “Love Remains The Same,” which hit No. 1 on iTunes and generated more than 1.6 million downloads.

“We’ve waited seven years, and we’re finally bringing the #1 most requested band by the fans to Rocklahoma, the one and only Guns N’ Roses!  Couple that with the undisputed legacy of Alice In Chains, the unforgettable live spectacle of Korn and the hits of Bush, and we’re in store for a truly legendary weekend,” comments Joe Litvag, Executive Producer of Rocklahoma for AEG Live.

Rocklahoma is located just 45 minutes northeast of Tulsa, in Pryor, OK. The “Catch the Fever” Festival Grounds is a premier destination for a multi-day festival and includes onsite camping with access to restrooms and shower house, a general store for campers, VIP reserved seating, hospitality areas and much more.

Established in 2007 as a classic rock destination festival with the motto “life, liberty and the pursuit of rock,” Rocklahoma was revamped in 2010 as organizers teamed with AEG Live to create an event encompassing a much broader mix of classic, current and up-and-coming rock artists. In 2011, a record-breaking crowd of over 35,000 fans turned out for the festival, which raised over $10,000 for the American Red Cross as part of their tornado relief efforts in nearby Joplin, MO. In 2012, a national television audience was able to experience many Rocklahoma band performances in HD when AXS TV aired live coverage of the festival.

Rocklahoma marks the final event of the 2013 World’s Loudest Month. Created in partnership by AEG Live and Right Arm Entertainment, the World’s Loudest Month features the biggest names in rock music performing in five distinct U.S. concert atmospheres: Welcome To Rockville, Carolina Rebellion, Rockfest, Rock On The Range, and Rocklahoma. In 2012, the World’s Loudest Month featured over 100 artists playing for more than 200,000 rock music fans across the country on five consecutive weekends, confirming that rock music is as vital as ever.

Rocklahoma is proud to be sponsored by Bud Light, Hard Rock (presenting the Hard Rock 2nd Stage), Jägermeister, and Monster Energy.

1 BUSH SIGN EXCLUSIVE PARTNERSHIP WITH EONE MUSIC, NEW RECORD DUE IN SEPTEMBER

  • July 11, 2011

  • · Entertainment · Hard Rock Music · Hard Rock News · Music

Multi-platinum rock band BUSH has announced a September 13th release for highly anticipated new album THE SEA OF MEMORIES. Recorded with producer Bob Rock (Aerosmith, Metallica), THE SEA OF MEMORIES is the seminal band’s first studio release in 10 years and the first to be released via their own imprint, Zuma Rock Records, through an exclusive partnership with eOne Music.

On July 21st, the band (vocalist/guitarist Gavin Rossdale, guitarist Chris Traynor, drummer Robin Goodridge, and bassist Corey Britz) will perform lead single “The Sound of Winter” on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Last week, Bush announced that they’ll be playing the Bowery Ballroom in New York City on July 28th and the show literally sold out in under a minute. On Saturday, August 20th, BUSH will also be among the headliners performing with the Sunset Strip Music Festival in LA.

THE SEA OF MEMORIES captures the electricity and trademark intensity of classic BUSH delivered in a setting that’s fresh and alive. Songs like “The Sound of Winter,” “Heart of the Matter” and “All Night Doctors” are propelled by heavy guitar and hypnotic beats, simple song structures and sublime textures.

About the album, Rossdale says, “When making music, you have a choice to repeat what you’ve done or move on. It would’ve been safe to just rework (1994’s debut album) ‘Sixteen Stone’ over and over, but what kind of life would that be? When you’re driving down the road, you’re focused on what’s in front of you; you don’t really think to keep checking in your rear view mirror. I like the idea of art changing, developing and morphing.”

Over the course of their remarkable career, BUSH has sold more than 16 million albums in the U.S. and Canada alone. They’ve also compiled an amazing string of 14 consecutive Top 40 hit singles on the Billboard Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock charts, including ten that hit the Top 5. Four of these became No. 1 hits: “Comedown,” “Glycerine,” “Swallowed” and “The Chemicals Between Us.”

The band is currently finalizing plans for a fall tour.
