Cold Blooded Demon blasts out of its heavy metal cannon with the cool anthem “Head My Way“. This heavy rocker was a pretty good way to start off this disc. This tune immediately grabbed my attention, and left me wanting more.
“She’s My Drug” (see the video below) keeps the pace going well. This song has a cool sleazy bass line that really drives this tune.
The bass line on “Lie To Love Me” reminds me of Alice in Chains somewhat. This anthem seems to get better with every listen.
I love the Metallica influence that creeps its way into the song, “Finally“. On the title track “Cold Blooded Demon” I felt that the mixing on this song was a little off. The song is pretty good, but the bass and drums are mixed a little too loud, and it overpowers the vocals of Nathan Yetter. The guitar solos on this song rip!
“Such A Disease” is another cool track that sounds like it could have been a left over tune by Alice in Chains.
Cold Blooded Demon shows a ton of potential for Revmatic. Revmatic does a good job at blending 80’s metal and some 90’s grunge on this CD. Cold Blooded Demon is another nice surprise in 2008.
If a record label gives these guys a break, they could be the next big act to hit the scene. You can preview clips and order your own copy of Cold Blooded Demon at CDBaby.com. For more information on Revmatic, check them out on myspace.

Frontiers Records is excited to announce the European release of the brand new HONEYMOON SUITE album entitled “Clifton Hill” on October 10th 2008.
Formed in 1982 by Derry Grehan (guitar) and Johnnie Dee (vocals and guitar), HONEYMOON SUITE have achieved well over a million album sales worldwide earning them multiple gold and platinum awards, thus becoming one of the most successful Canadian acts on the international markets. Albums such as the self-titled debut, “The Big Prize”, “Racing After Midnight” and “Monsters Under the Bed” are considered by press and fans like real classics of the Melodic Rock genre.
During the last 20 years the band had been touring with the likes of Heart, Journey, ZZ Top, Bryan Adams, Saga, Status Quo, Aerosmith, Jethro Tull, Night Ranger and other successful classic Rock and Hard Rock bands.
Honeymoon Suite’s original line-up reformed in 2007 and after a very successful year of touring, is now on the road again for the summer of 2008. The band will continue their non-stop touring schedule with summer shows alongside Loverboy, April Wine, Kim Mitchell and other classic rock acts.
In the meanwhile Derry and Johnnie started working on a new album together with the collaboration of original debut album producer Tom Treumuth and deciding to call it “Clifton Hill,” after the Niagara Falls, ON location where the band was formed 25 years ago. Derry Grehan explains “Clifton Hill is a famous landmark right dead centre of all the tourist activity in Niagara Falls. The picture on the album cover was taken there back around the mid-eighties when it was still a kind of cheesy tourist trap, and we wanted to show that side of it. We of course see the whole thing differently than the millions of tourists who visit there every year. The picture is also cool because we shot our “Burning in Love” video there in the early 80’s, and that’s just what it looked like then”.
On the music included on the new album, Derry has to say that “Every time Johnnie and I sit down to write a record, the sound does progress because we have lived a lot more of life than when we were all kids. We never say “the new songs are going to sound like this or that”, but this whole new album has really been somewhat of a return musically to the sound that we had in the 80’s. It’s produced by Tom Treumuth who did our first record, so it seems we’ve all come full circle, hence the title “Clifton Hill”.
The result is a incredibly mature and inspired album with all the trademarks of the classic Honeymoon Suite sound, chock full or great rock songs and fascinating mid tempos and ballads.
Final tracklisting of “Clifton Hill” includes:
An amazing return of a truly great band, don’t miss it !
It has been 26 long years since Canadian musician, Aldo Nova, released his first album. His 1982 debut feature material put together almost entirely by himself, with a little bit of help with some studio musicians. On the strength of his hit single Fantasy, this album went all the way to # 8 on the Billboard charts. This album would eventually go multi platinum in the United States.
The sound of this record is pretty common for the early 80’s. It is a keyboard laded pop metal, that reminds me a lot of the early sound of Bon Jovi. Aldo Nova proves to be a very good guitar player. When you hear him cut loose on the guitar, you will wonder where he has been hiding, and why you haven’t heard more about him over the years.
For this listener, Fantasy is the hardest song on this album, and one of the few songs I still enjoy. The rest of the material is more in the line of AOR than hard rock.
Yes, there are some heavy guitar riffs here and there, but I have heard a lot of better material than this over the years. If you are looking for a copy of the tune Fantasy, this is place to get it. While this release may have been somewhat influential to the hair metal scene, It is only slightly above average to my ears.
This CD has been out of print for a while, but was recently remastered and reissued in April 2008. AOR and melodic rock fans may want to check this disc out.

“The videos were shot at various shows on the UK tour. The crowds were awesome, as every show was a rampage from the moment we started the set,” says frontman Luke Metcalf of the creation of the video. “I wrote the “Supercharged” music and some of the lyrics for the song one day after I got incredibly high and went and lay down on the side of a hill during an incredible thunder storm in Toronto last summer. For about two hours I watched hundreds and hundreds of lightning bolts ripping across the sky above and around me.”
SOUND AND FURY is all about power chords and no-bullshit rock ‘n roll, total sonic assault. Founded by frontman Luke Metcalf with a desire to create stripped down straight up whiskey drinking rock n’ roll, he
recruited guitarists Daz and Griffin, ex- Age of Electric bassist John
Kerns, and drummer Chris Avalos, to play the music he lives to create.
In addition to perfectly capturing their raw rock n’ roll power on the
album, the group has been gaining fans by the truckload by opening up
for Canada’s leading pop-punk band, Sum 41, throughout the great white north (as well as the U.K.).
Frontiers Records is proud to present the final HAREM SCAREM studio album “Hope” for release in Europe on July 4th 2008 !
No other band in the Melodic Rock genre has delivered the goods through such a varied discography throughout their career as Harem Scarem. The Canadian quartet makes no exception to the rule with the band’s twelfth and final studio album. After 20 years of activities, Harem Scarem have infact decided to move on to other things.
“Hope” is therefore their final record for themselves and their fans all around the world: a release which marks the final testament to the art and craft of a legendary band in Melodic Hard Rock.
In band’s singer Harry Hess words: “The new album follows in the footsteps of our recent releases. I’m sure our long time fans will not be disappointed as all the hooks and choruses are there once again, wrapped at times in a slightly heavier and darker tone”.
The result is truly Harem Scarem’s most intense, moody and passionate album to date. A top production and a straightforward Melodic Hard Rock sound make “Hope” an unmissable opportunity for all the fans to enjoy the very last studio effort from a legendary band that has written real milestones in the Melodic Hard Rock musical style.

Montreal based 3 Mile Scream have streamed the group’s debut album, A Prelude To Our Demise, at the following location http://www.altsounds.com/altsounds/bands/3793/playallhi.php
3 Mile Scream‘s debut album was recorded in Montreal under the watchful eye of producer Jean-Francois Dagenais, guitarist for death metal giants Kataklysm. Since the album release, 3 Mile Scream has won over many high profile fans including Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe, Unearth’s Trevor Phipps and Arch Enemy’s Michael Amott who described the band as, “Heavy and melodic, great chops.”
3 Mile Scream’s A Prelude To Our Demise, was released by independent powerhouse Corporate Punishment Records. The album is a stunning blend of European metal, melody and machine gun drumming that creates a merciless, brutal sound.
The group has recently announced more tour dates in support of their debut album, including an upcoming October 14th date in Belleville, Ontario where the band has been added as direct support for Thine Eyes Bleed.
“Thine Eyes Bleed are one of the best Canadian metal acts on the scene. We are extremely excited and honored to share the stage with a band of such unrelenting aggression,” says 3 Mile Scream frontman Matt McGa chy. “We are all very excited to hear the new Thine Eyes Bleed material since we were all blown away by their performance at last year’s Unholy Alliance Tour.”

Canadian rock band Evans Blue does not have a name that would necessarily bring Hard Rock or Heavy Metal to mind. The band has crafted a very good modern hard rock release that sounds like a cross between Tool and Atreyu.
Singer Kevin Matisyn has a strong and very good, clean singing voice. His voice drives the tunes on “The Pursuit” which range from heavy rockers like Red Dress, Shine Your Cadillac and The Pursuit to more mainstream sounding tracks like Q, Kiss the Flag, Pin-Up, and Fear. It is a nice variety of songs that make for a very good listen.
The bands’ sound has matured quite a bit since the debut record, The Melody and the Energetic Nature of Volume. I will be anxious to see how the bands’ sound continues to evolve on the next release.
Until then “The Pursuit Begins When This Portrayal Of Life Ends” is another release that these Canadian rockers can be proud of.
