0 Les Claypool To Embark On “The Oddity Faire: A Mutated Mini Fest” Tour
Les Claypool will embark on the “The Oddity Faire: A Mutated Mini Fest” tour and will take over North America starting March 4, 2009. This tour is in support of yet another brilliant work of art, OF FUNGI AND FOE releasing March 17, 2009 on Prawn Song Records.
“OF FUNGI AND FOE” is the expansion of material Claypool has recorded over the past few years for the video game “Mushroom Men” and the motion picture “Pig Hunt”. Being inspired by these 2 projects Claypool decided to keep creating and turn it into an album. The song Mushroom Men on this release is a more in depth version of the theme song from the video game. Additionally a jam session with Gogol Bordello’s charismatic front-man Eugene Hutz turned into the track “Bite Out Of Life”. The band is comprised of Les Claypool on bass/vocals, Paulo Baldi on Drums (Cake), Mike Dillon on Percussion (Ani Difranco), and Sam Bass on Cello (Deadweight).

0 SHINEDOWN ANNOUNCE TOURING PLANS FOR 2009
Atlantic recording group Shinedown will kick off 2009 with an eight-country, European tour starting on January 21st at London’s O2 Academy Islington. The Jacksonville, FL-based band will make stops in Paris, Amsterdam and Stockholm for the Radio Bandit Awards among numerous other cities.
Beginning with the Punk To Crunk Festival in Lafayette, LA, on February 23rd, the group returns for another run of U.S. tour dates (see attached itinerary). More shows will be announced as the band expects to be on the road for the rest of the year in support of The Sound Of Madness. Fans can check http://www.shinedown.com for the latest tour updates and information.
In other news, Shinedown has landed their second consecutive #1 hit at rock radio with “Second Chance.” The band’s run of hit singles from their first three albums makes them one of the most successful rock bands of the decade. Shinedown launched “Second Chance” with a blistering performance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno this past fall. The song’s companion music video made its debut on MSN.com at the start of the new year and has been added to FUSE’s Rock & Alternative Countdown shows. “Second Chance” goes to Top 40 radio later this month.
Shinedown’s latest album, The Sound Of Madness, was produced by multiple Grammy Award-winner Rob Cavallo (Kid Rock, Green Day, My Chemical Romance). Upon its release it became the band’s biggest debut of their career landing at # 8 it’s first week on the charts. The album has remained on the Billboard Top 200 album chart for 16 consecutive weeks. Both singles from The Sound of Madness: “Devour” and “Second Chance” have reached #1 on the Billboard Active and Mediabase Rock charts.

0 Papa Roach to Release Metamorphisis on March 24th
Papa Roach will release their forthcoming fifth studio album, Metamorphosis on March 24th through DGC/Interscope Records. Co-Produced by Jay Baumgardner and Papa Roach with additional co-production by James Michael on six of the tracks, the new album conjures a vicious, vibrant intensity that is raw, relevant and ready to rock. The multi-platinum selling, Grammy-nominated Northern California quartet is back with their album of the decade.
Papa Roach is Jacoby Shaddix (vocals), Tobin Esperance (bass), Jerry Horton (guitar) and new member (ex-Unwritten Law’s) Tony Palermo (drums). Since bursting onto the scene in 2000, the band has toured the world and churned out Top 10 multi-format Billboard hits including “Last Resort,” “Forever,” “Getting Away With Murder,” “Scars” and “To Be Loved,” three of those on the last release. There is no shortage of classic songs on Metamorphosis either. The album’s first radio single, “Lifeline,” combines an AC/DC-style fret run with an undeniable chorus.
Fans got their first taste of the new songs from the album during their live performances on Crue Fest 2008 and with a free download of the viral video release for the song “Hollywood Whore” which the band released in November 2008 as a gift to long-time fans. The video has had more than a million views.
Metamorphosis captures Papa Roach’s incendiary live energy on record. The album engages a full-on rock n’ roll assault fueled by the band’s punky raw energy, catchy guitar riffs and irrefutable melodies. They have delivered the most entertaining album of their career; it’s the culmination of their devotion to performing live and always giving their fans what they want while staying true to themselves.
Leading up to album release, Papa Roach will embark on a national tour alongside Buckcherry, Avenged Sevenfold and Saving Abel, kicking off on January 28th in Salt Lake City. This follows a half year of non-stop touring in front of 700,000 people that included the main stage on Motley Crue’s Crue Fest and a recent autumn run with Staind and Seether.
“We bring it live,” says Shaddix. “When you come to one of our shows, it’s like the last tribal experience. Playing shows every night is what we’re built for. We make a club feel like an arena and we make an arena feel like a club. We’re going to tour our guts out and bring our music to fans all over the world.”

0 Burn Halo Sets Release Date For Self-Titled Debut Album, Announces More Tour Dates
Burn Halo, featuring former Eighteen Visions singer/songwriter, will be releasing their self-titled debut March 10 on Rawkhead Records (through Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group).
The album’s first single, “Dirty Little Girl,” which features a guest appearance by Avenged Sevenfold’s Synyster Gates, is already getting spins on radio stations around the country, and is in regular rotation on Sirius XM Satellite Radio’s “Octane” station. A video for the track was recently shot in at the Slide Bar in Orange County, CA with Nate Weaver (Against Me!, Taking Back Sunday) at the director’s helm, and will hit the TV and Internet airwaves within the coming weeks.
Anyone who was watching the Dallas Cowboys/Baltimore Ravens football game on the NFL Network on Saturday, December 20 might have heard another song from the album, “Our House,” during the broadcast. The track will also be heard during a recap of the college football season for “College Football Now” on the NFL Network, which will air this week and weekend, and will be streamed simultaneously on the station’s website. Fans should check local listings for details.
Never losing momentum after the break-up, Hart landed a label deal with Island/Def Jam and began working almost immediately with songwriter Zac Maloy on what would eventually become BURN HALO’s debut album. Between May and October of 2007, Hart made week-long treks to Tulsa, OK to write and demo with Maloy. “I knew that I wanted a clear-cut rock ‘n’ roll band, which is something I had not had in the past,” Hart says of the music.
“My vision and my brand of rock ‘n’ roll without having to compromise on any of the songs or any of the material. I wanted to make a very straightforward rock album, something that had commercial appeal, but also something that had a classic, vintage mid-‘80s throwback vibe to it.”
Hart recorded the album from October to November of 2007 with Maloy as producer, laying down the tracks with an army of skilled studio musicians, including Nickelback drummer Daniel Adair, former Jane’s Addiction bassist Chris Chaney, guitarist Neil Tiemann (who now tours with “American Idol” winner David Cook), and Avenged Sevenfold’s Synyster Gates (who appears on the “Dirty Little Girl” and “Anejo”).
In the studio, Maloy was particularly helpful in getting the best possible vocal performance out of Hart. As he explains, “I really felt like he was able to grasp what I wanted to do and where I wanted to take this. From a producer standpoint I feel like he really knocked it out of the park. As a vocalist he was able to bring a lot out of me instead of having me go through the motions and just get the part right, emoting a little more than I have in the past. He was really able to pull a lot of character out of my voice.”
“I think this is a real statement album for me,” Hart continues. “Anyone who is familiar with me and my past is going to be able to get this record. They’re going to understand why I made this record and that this is the record I’ve been wanting to make.”
After the album was completed in early 2008, Island/Def Jam elected not to release it, leaving Hart with the tough job of finding a new home for his project. Nothing felt quite right, though, so BURN HALO’s manager Bret Bair formed his own label Rawkhead Rekords and partnered with Warner Music Group to release the record. Hart spent much of 2008 finalizing the line-up of his touring band–which he hopes will help write and record BURN HALO’s next albums–with Aaron Boheler on bass, Joey Sin on lead guitar, Allen Wheeler on rhythm guitar, and Ryan Folden on drums.
BURN HALO’s new ensemble has already been racking up tour dates with bands such as Avenged Sevenfold and their next jaunt will be with Escape The Fate and Black Tide starting February 5 in Pomona, CA. A summer tour is already in the works and should be announced in the coming weeks.

1 Black Tide Touring Onslaught Continues in 2009!
Armed with a slew of tour dates for 2009, Black Tide are primed to continue to light up crowds across the globe in support of their Interscope Records debut album “Light From Above.” The band will be part of the Kerrang! Relentless Energy Drink Tour kicking off January 13th in Belfast, then will join Escape The Fate beginning February 5th in Pomona, CA and will play their first Vans Warped Tour this summer.
From their mainstage stints on OZZfest 2007 and the inaugural Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Tour 2008 alongside Slipknot and Disturbed, to touring with Avenged Sevenfold and Bullet For My Valentine, Black Tide have become vicious road dogs, chomping at the bit to destroy any stage they can. On stage, the band’s music explodes with a raw vitality.
RollingStone named Black Tide one of the “Best Rookies of 2008” and “Metal’s New Teen Titans,” while Spin labeled them one of “The Next Big Things,” and calling them a “Band To Watch,” Revolver featured Black Tide on the August 2008 cover. Kerrang! declared the band to be the “Best International Newcomer” in 2008. In addition, Black Tide producer Johnny K (Staind, 3 Doors Down) has garnered a 2008 Producer of the Year Grammy nomination for his recent body of work including the band’s album “Light From Above.”
Black Tide is Gabriel Garcia (vocals, lead guitar), Zakk Sandler (bass), Steven Spence (drums) and Austin Diaz (guitar). Crafting infectious no- nonsense heavy metal anthems, the Florida quartet have become an unstoppable road machine. Amps cranked and bus stocked, the band will bring their brand of riotous old school-inspired thrash to audiences stateside and beyond in 2009. Sandler comments, “We love playing live, and we’re going to give it our all, and more, every night.”

2 THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS SETS TOUR DATES THROUGH MARCH, 2009
NEW SINGLE “YOU BETTER PRAY” HITS ALTERNATIVE RADIO AND MTV2;
RJA FANS GET FREE DOWNLOAD OF ALBUM TRACK “PEN & PAPER” ON OFFICIAL WEBSITE
SECOND VIRGIN ALBUM LONELY ROAD, RELEASED FEB. 3RD
For Virgin Records platinum-plus rockers THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS, a busy holiday season is only getting busier in the two-month run-up to the much-anticipated February 3, 2009 release of the band’s second album, LONELY ROAD.
The band played early Secret Santa to their worldwide fan community by posting the new album track “Pen & Paper” as a free download at the RedJumpsuitAlliance.com website, adding a stream of the song to MySpace.com, and letting viral word of mouth do the rest.
The album’s kick-off single and video, the righteous rocker “You Better Pray,” has already been streamed nearly 350,000 times on the RJA Myspace.com page, as it builds national airplay and climbs the alternative and modern rock radio charts.
Three months’ worth of live dates have now been finalized, including year-end holiday celebrations presented by America’s greatest rock radio stations; a month of headlining dates through the south and Midwest (including a stop in their hometown Jacksonville, Florida); and a series of gigs in Southeast Asia and Australia.
On Monday, December 15th, the final MTV2: UNLEASHED All-Day Premiere of 2008 will be “You Better Pray.” The video will run on MTV2’s online homepage and on MTV2’s cablecast throughout the day, at the top of each video hour and in front of the channel’s regular programming. Promo spots will feature teaser footage from the song’s video clip for a week prior to premiere day.
THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS recorded LONELY ROAD, at the Valley Village, CA, studio of super-producer Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Hoobastank, P.O.D., Less Than Jake, Daughtry, Seether, All-American Rejects). The album follows up DON’T YOU FAKE IT, the band’s breakthrough debut, which charted for 62 weeks on Billboard’s Top 200, scanning over a million copies in the U.S. to date, and selling more than 2.1 million copies of its singles.
Consisting of lead singer Ronnie Winter, guitarist/pianist/singer Duke Kitchens, bass/singer Joey Westwood and drummer/singer Jon Wilkes, RJA’s extraordinary address of domestic violence in their first single, “Face Down,” signaled the close relationship the band would keep with their fans as they grew from local sensations to platinum international hit-makers. “Everybody loves the band ‘cause they know we are real and not contrived, and know the trailer that we started jamming in when we were 15 years old,” Ronnie Winter told a CrusherMagazine.com interviewer during his brief downtime at home in Florida, just following completion of the new album. “The cops had to come shut us down. I still talk to those cops when I see them on the streets. It’s one whole long story that has taken eight or nine years, so our community has been with us the whole time.
Accordingly, since the release of DON’T YOU FAKE IT, RJA has also been an active force for a wide array of charitable organizations and social causes, including teen suicide prevention (including co-headlining the US Take Action Tour with My Chemical Romance and Rise Against), mental health parity and a strong commitment to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, teaming up with their label Virgin Records, to raise funds.
In addition, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Guardian Angel Foundation has been formed as an umbrella group to support under-funded high school band programs, to promote and enhance student musical development; support individuals affected by domestic violence, to break the cycle of abuse; and contribute to research that focuses on management of acute hyperglycemia in hospitalized patients. “We’ve honestly always felt blessed, and the best way to give back is to…give back! Don’t talk about it. Just do it. So our motto of, ‘Doing good for no good reason’ will always apply to this specific band, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus,” Winter said.

0 SAVING ABEL TO OPEN FOR NICKELBACK ON 34-CITY NORTH AMERICAN ARENA TOUR
Breakout rock band Saving Abel will join Seether as openers for Nickelback on their North American tour beginning February 25th in Nashville, TN (full schedule below). Saving Abel’s largest outing to date will hit arenas in over 30 cities across the continent. Tickets go on sale beginning Dec. 5th at www.LiveNation.com.
“We’re thrilled to be opening for Nickelback. It’s crazy, a year ago we were playing small bars and clubs around Memphis and now we’re touring the country in a bus and will be playing with one of the biggest touring rock bands in arenas,” said Saving Abel frontman Jared Weeks.
Saving Abel have been on the road non-stop since the March, 2008 release of their self titled debut from Virgin records and have played with rock heavy weights such as Buckcherry, Avenged Sevenfold, Puddle of Mudd and Shinedown. The band has enjoyed impressive success with their chart-topping, multi-format smash debut single “Addicted,” which hit #1 at mainstream rock radio, spent 11 consecutive weeks at #2 on the active rock chart and reached #7 at alternative radio. At press time, the track is the most played song of 2008 at the active rock format. “Addicted” found a whole new life in July when it impacted Top 40 radio. The run away hit is now sitting in the top 10 at the format and is top 15 at Hot AC. While “Addicted” is topping the pop charts, Saving Abel’s second single “18 Days,” a huge rock ballad dedicated to the troops, is heating up at rock radio where it is already top 10 at active rock and top 20 at alternative radio. Videos for both tracks have witnessed major play across all video channels including MTV2, VH1, Fuse and Music Choice where “Addicted” is currently the #1 played video an their “Hit List” channel.
Saving Abel continues to reach new heights on the sales charts as well. The album spent 3 consecutive weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart before debuting on the Billboard 200 in July. It has sold over 240,000 copies to date. ”Addicted” hit #20 on the digital singles chart and is approaching platinum success with over 800,000 singles sold thus far.
Saving Abel – named after the Biblical sibling of Cain – was formed by Jared Weeks and guitarist Jason Null in 2004 in their hometown of Corinth, Mississippi. Now based in Memphis, Tennessee, the band’s lineup includes guitarist Scott Bartlett, bassist Eric Taylor and drummer Blake Dixon. Combining influences of southern rock, hard rock and alternative music, the band was first heard on a 2005 EP, produced by Skidd Mills (12 Stones, Saliva, Submersed).

4 SLIPKNOT ANNOUNCES U.S. ARENA HEADLINE TOUR
BAND RETURNS HOME IN SUPPORT OF
ALL HOPE IS GONE
2009 MARKS 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF
BAND’S LANDMARK DEBUT ALBUM
Grammy-award winning hard rockers Slipknot announced today their first U.S. headline tour in support of their 1 album All Hope Is Gone. The tour, which kicks off on January 23rd in St. Paul, MN, will hit 33 cities across the country, and include an historic stop at New York’s Madison Square Garden, a first for the band. Coheed and Cambria and labelmates Trivium round out the bill.
Frontman Corey Taylor says of the trek, “2009 is the 10 year anniversary of the world’s first taste of this band. To celebrate we are coming back out with a killer tour, a couple great bands and the same ferocity with which we attack life. We want all of our maggots to come and celebrate with us, because if it wasn’t for you we wouldn’t have been here for 10 years. Get ready for chaos!”
A special iTunes presale will start on December 3 and be open to those who took part in the band’s digital album presale earlier this year. Internet presales via Ticketmaster, will commence on December 5, and the majority of dates will go on sale December 6th.
The All Hope Is Gone World Tour marks Slipknot’s first headline run in America since the release of the album in August. The band is currently playing to sold out arenas on the other side of the globe; including stops in Russia, Japan, Australia, Europe and wrapping in the United Kingdom with three sold-out nights at London’s Hammersmith Apollo. Preceding All Hope Is Gone’s 1 debut, the band held the headline slot on this summer’s sold-out inaugural Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, which drew the biggest crowds to a metal festival since Slipknot played Ozzfest in 2004.
To celebrate the tour, Hard Drive, hosted by Lou Brutus will be airing a Slipknot All Hope is Gone World Tour Special from December 3rd-6th on radio stations all across the country. The special will feature exclusive live tracks from their current tour as well as candid interviews and other surprises.

21 Nickelback 2009 Tour Dates
Billboard.com is reporting that Nickelback will begin a North American tour Feb. 25 in Nashville in support of its just-released Roadrunner album “Dark Horse.” Tickets go on sale Dec. 5 via LiveNation.com, but Nickelback fan club members get first crack on Friday (Nov. 28).
Seether and Saving Abel will support on the jaunt, which runs through April 23 in Columbia, S.C.
“Dark Horse” is expected to debut tomorrow in the upper reaches of The Billboard 200. First single “Gotta Be Somebody” has sold 570,000 downloads in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Asked recently by Billboard why NIckelback opted to wait to tour until next year, frontman Chad Kroeger said, “We’ve been bitten too many times by going out too early. I’m always adamant about making sure there’s at least a true rock song from the band that’s gone to radio, just to give a more diverse selection of music for people to listen to.
“We’ve been consulting with some people; I’m interested to see someone else’s take on what this band could look like live, and we’ve had some real interesting stuff come back,” he continued. “I think we’re gonna try some stuff that, believe it or not, no one has ever done live before.”
Here are Nickelback’s tour dates:
Feb. 25: Nashville (Sommet Center)
Feb. 27: Lexington, Ky. (Rupp Arena)

1 Motley Crue, Hinder & Theory of A Deadman Tour Dates!
As reported by Billboard.com, Motley Crue will follow up this summer’s Crue Fest amphitheater tour with a North American arena trek, beginning Feb. 2, 2009, at Cox Arena in San Diego and wrapping March 18 at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, Maine.
The 25-city-plus jaunt will feature support from Hinder, Theory of a Deadman and the Last Vegas. Chicago-based the Last Vegas recently won the first Guitar Center On-Stage: Your Chance to Make Rock History contest. Along with an opening slot on Motley Crue’s upcoming tour, the rock outfit’s prize includes a management contract with Tenth Street Entertainment and a recording deal with Eleven Seven Music.
Ticket prices for the Live Nation-produced Saints of Los Angeles 2009 tour will range from $25 to $75, with public on-sales beginning Nov. 21 in various markets. Other tour partners besides Guitar Center include American Express and Fuse, according to Tenth Street Entertainment/Eleven Seven Music CEO Allen Kovac.
Kovac, who has served as Motley Crue’s manager since 1994, says the band’s winter jaunt picks up where Crue Fest left off. “These are markets we didn’t play,” Kovac tells Billboard. “Rock has always been a middle-of-the-country sport, and you have to go to where your fans are.”
The inaugural 40-plus-city North American Crue Fest — which also featured rock acts Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Trapt and Sixx:A.M. — grossed $16.6 million and drew more than 613,000 concertgoers, according to Billboard Boxscore. The trek followed the June release of “Saints of Los Angeles,” the first Motley Crue album in more than a decade recorded by the band’s original members. The set has sold 236,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
After March, Motley Crue will break from touring until the summer, when it will visit European cities in June. From there, the band will return stateside from July through September for the second edition of Crue Fest, Kovac says. Support acts for the summer tour are still in the works.

2 HIM, THE 69 EYES, NEGATIVE Confirmed For Finland’s HELLDONE FESTIVAL
HIM, THE 69 EYES and NEGATIVE are among the confirmed bands for the fourth annual Helldone Festival, set to take place December 29-31, 2008 at various clubs in Helsinki, Oulu and Tempere Finland.
This time around HIM, KYPCK (pronounced “Kursk”) and 45 DEGREE WOMAN will take the festival on the road, to the cities of Oulu and Tampere. While this fearless trio shares some good vibes with the rest of the country, Helldone HQ in Helsinki is rocking to the sounds ofSTAM1NA, DIABLO and GODSPLAGUE on Monday, December 29; andTHE 69 EYES, NEGATIVE and SARA on Tuesday, December 30. New Year’s Eve marks the eagerly awaited return of the road warriors.
During the past couple of years, the Helldone Festival has been proud to present some cool bands from overseas but the fans have politely pointed out that the thing they really want to see and hear are Finnish bands. Finnish bands in the dark heart of the Finnish winter.
Some of this year’s bands have played at the festival before but none has been invited back purely for old times’ sake. Each and every band in theHelldone 2008 lineup has recently reached important milestones in their careers: be it a killer album, a breakthrough in new territories or a big tour. They all are alive, hungry, fast and furious. And definitely as cool as a December night in downtown Hellsinki.
Helldone 2008 marks the tenth anniversary of HIM‘s New Year’s Eve shows at Tavastia Club — the tradition out of which the Helldone Festival was born. Each night there will be three top bands on the Tavastia stage, while the neighboring venue Semifinal serves as a chill out zone with some familiar faces spinning records. HIM will traditionally start their set at midnight on New Year’s Eve.
Helldone Festival 2008:
Dec. 29-31 @ Tavastia & Semifinal, Helsinki
Dec. 29 @ Teatria, Oulu
