0 Four Jakals Seen Prowling Around U.S. Cities
Do you like your Rock music to have crunchy guitar riffs soaring vocals and melodic songs that actually make you feel good?……well now you have the chance to see and hear all those things wrapped up together when new British music sensation The Jakals come to town and perform!
The Four piece from Brighton England are Chay Brewer, Lucas Cook, Jose Pinto and drummer Tom Strange and are here in the US on tour as well as the only UK band invited to play the Rocklahoma music festival at Pryor Oklahoma 10th – 13th July 2008.
The Jakals unique sound is a subtle blend of styles. A bit of The Rolling Stones, a hint of Guns and Roses along with shades of Free and Aerosmith, mixed up in a cauldron of driving blues riffs that make it seem somehow familiar as well as exciting original and fresh……… It’s got everything, passion, emotion, excitement and fun.
The Band have been together for just over four years and recently performed at the Royal Albert Hall in London at a special showcase to play amongst others their charity song “Farewell” written in conjunction with The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to highlight the dangers of world wide climate change.
All proceeds from the single are going to special projects within the WWF relating to environmental concerns and the band are naturally proud of this historic association and the good causes they are influencing.

12 Stonerider, Endeverafter, Airbourne – Lexington, KY Concert Review
Four hard rocking bands took the stage Tuesday night at Lexington, Kentucky’s, Club A1A.
Uncle Aleister’s Rock ‘N Roll Revival was the first act to take the stage. I didn’t know much about this band, but I expected this to be a cover band. Much to my surprise, and to my liking, the band played all original material. The ages were obviously quite varied in this 4 piece band, but did a pretty good job warming up the small crowd that arrived at the club early.
Atlanta, Georgia’s Stonerider was up next. I recently reviewed this band’s CD, Three Legs of Trouble (Review can be found in the TOP 10, on the HRH Sidebar), and was pretty familiar with their music. I have been spinning this disc a lot as of late, and have really been enjoying their music. I haven’t heard any feedback about the band, so I was not sure what to expect by their live show.
Their set included the tunes, Rush Hour, Baby, Back From the Dead, Bad Lovin Never Felt So Good, Juice Man, and Wild Child. They were pretty good live, although their set was a little too short in my opinion. I would like to catch these guys playing live again.
Bad Loving Never Felt So Good
Juiceman
Endeverafter took the stage around 10 P.M. I was anxious to see this band. I was already quite familiar with the playing of Endeverafter’s Michael Grant. I have heard nothing but good things about these guys from the people who were lucky enough to catch them on the 2006 Poison and Cinderella Tour.
The band played quite a few songs off of their new CD, Kiss or Kill, including, Tip of My Tongue, All Night, Road to Destruction, Next Best Thing, Baby Baby Baby, and I Wanna Be Your Man.
I had high expectations for Endeverafter, and they exceeded them. They were very good live. With a bunch of good songs at their disposal, Endeverafter could really take off, if radio will give them a chance and play a couple of their songs.
I honestly thought Endeverafter was going to be hard act to follow, as good as they played. I couldn’t have been more wrong.
Tip of My Tongue
I Wanna Be Your Man and Baby, Baby, Baby
Airbourne took the stage around 11 P.M. or so. They were introduced by WKQQ’s Dead Air Dennis and Monkey Boy. Monkey Boy had a small jab at Airbourne comparing them to AC/DC. I guess this was his attempt to be funny. Nonetheless, say what you will about this Airbourne’s obvious influences, they rock as hard as the bands that inspired them.
I have seen hundreds of live shows, and I don’t recall very many shows, where a band put on a more energetic show than the one Airbourne did Tuesday night. 48 hours later, and I am still blown away by the live show that I saw.
Joel O’Keeffe is an amazing front man. He knows how to get the crowd fired up, and does a good job keeping them there. Bassist Justin Street is going to need a neck brace from his constant head banging, hair spinning bass licks. David Roads does a pretty good job keeping up with Joel O’Keeffe note for note. They way these guys run around stage during a set, they must be exhausted from all of the energy they put out. Airbourne’s set included the songs, Stand Up For Rock N’ Roll, Diamond In The Rough, What’s Eatin You, Cheap Wine, Blackjack, Girls in Black, Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast, Runnin’ Wild and Hellfire.
On a negative note, this was a low dough show. For a mere $10.00, you got to see four great bands, and at maximum their was only 100 people in attendance. Lexington, KY is a big college town (UK), so I would expect that a great rock show would like this would attract more people. This club should have been packed. Sadly, it was not.
Airbourne has just recently announced a ton of new dates across the United States. Check below for the latest Tour Dates! DO NOT MISS AIRBOURNE if they come to your town.

8 Journey, Cheap Trick and Heart Summer Tour!
Classic-rock fans have a triple-play to look forward to this summer when Journey, Cheap Trick and Heart join forces for a massive tour.
The 50-date run is scheduled to kick off July 9 in Denver and is booked primarily at amphitheaters throughout the US. The itinerary, included below, stretches into early October.
The outing will mark the debut of new Journey singer Arnel Pineda, whom the group crowned in December as the replacement for the band’s short-lived previous vocalist, Jeff Scott Soto, who split with the group last May after fronting the act for less than a year. Soto stepped into the role in 2006 when then-lead singer Steve Augieri was sidelined with vocal problems; Augieri had held the slot since the late ’90s after taking over for the group’s best-known singer, Steve Perry, with whom the band scored a flock of late-’70s and early ’80s hits including “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Fathfully,” “Wheel in the Sky,” “Any Way You Want It” and “Open Arms.”
The upcoming tour supports Journey’s forthcoming June 3 release, “Revelation,” a three-disc CD and DVD package that will be sold exclusively at Wal-Mart stores in North America, according to a press release. Disc one comprises 11 re-recorded classics, disc two features 11 new songs, and disc three is a concert DVD.
Heart–sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson–released its most recent album, “Jupiter’s Darling,” in 2004. The set marked the pair’s first new studio collection in more than a decade.
Last September, Ann Wilson offered up her first solo album, “Hope & Glory.” She’s backing the set with a series of live shows that are scattered through mid-June; details are available at her MySpace page.
Cheap Trick dropped its latest album, “Rockford,” in 2006.

For the first time in their 18-year career, THE BLACK CROWES will perform an album of theirs in its entirety. On a special run of “One Night Only” shows beginning March 2 and wrapping March 20, fans will experience WARPAINT–the
group’s first album of all new studio material in seven years, due out March 4 — in its entirety onstage, after which the band will perform songs from their catalog and selected surprises.
A listing of these seven one-time-only tour dates is below, with the on-sale info. In the midst of this trek, the band will headline Stubbs March 15 at SXSW in Austin.
THE BLACK CROWES launch their overseas tour March 24 when they headline the East Coast Blues & Roots Festival in Australia. They’ll continue their Down Under trek–their first since 1991–through April 5, and conclude with exclusive
performances in London, UK at Brixton Academy April 9 and The Amsterdam Music Hall April 11. A major market multiple night U.S. tour will begin in May, with cities and venues to be announced in the near future.
WARPAINT marks the recording debut of two new band members–second guitarist Luther Dickerson, formerly of North Mississippi Allstars, and keyboardist Adam MacDougall who join CHRIS and RICH and drummer Steve Gorman and bassist Sven Pipien. The album which is being independently released on the band’s own newly-formed Silver Arrow Records, distributed through Megaforce/Sony Red BMG builds compellingly on the band’s trademark adventurous brew of rock, blues, country, soul and gospel.
Produced and mixed by Paul Stacey at Allaire Studios, Woodstock, NY, the album features 11 songs, all of which were written by CHRIS and RICH ROBINSON, except “God’s Got It” by the Reverend Charlie Jackson. “Goodbye Daughters of the Revolution” is set as the album’s first single and video; the song will arrive at radio on Monday, January 7. You can view the new video at this location.
THE BLACK CROWES have sold over 20 million albums and are known as one of rock’s best live acts. They have been called “The Most Rock n’ Roll Rock ‘n’ Roll Band In the World” and a “thoroughbred American rock ‘n’ freakin’ roll band”; their panoramic live shows feature alternating set lists and signature incendiary musical explorations. 7 Tesla 2008 Tour Dates
Hard rock veterans Tesla return to the road in February for another round of dates supporting their most recent album, June’s “Real to Reel.”
The group, which revealed in September it would be returning to the studio to put together a new album for 2008, will kick things off Feb. 1 in Seattle, with 20 cities on the itinerary. All dates for the tour, which runs to a close in early March, are shown below.
The band is coming off something of a resurgent year, having completed its first world tour in 16 years this fall with dates in Australia, Japan and Europe. The band also toured extensively in the US this summer, when fans attending the band’s shows were given an early opportunity to purchase the second volume of “Real to Reel,” which was initially only available in single-CD format.
The two volumes of “Real to Reel” discs feature covers of “songs that inspired us back in the day when we first heard them in the ’70s,” singer Jeff Keith said in a press release. “We originally had a large list of songs in mind for the record, and we had a lot of fun picking out the ones that ultimately made it onto the album. Making music is all about feeding off of your inspirations and putting your own touches to it. We feel we’ve accomplished this to the highest extent.”
Artists given the cover treatment on Tesla’s new album include The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and others.
The album is Tesla’s first since once again parting ways with original member Tommy Skeotch, who was replaced last year on tour and in the studio with guitarist Dave Rude.
Last month, the band released the iTunes-exclusive “A Peace of Time,” a seven-song digital EP that includes covers of songs by Bread, The Climax Blues Band and Ten Years After, as well as the band’s version of the traditional holiday classic “Silent Night.”

0 New Valient Thorr Album in 2008, plus new tour dates!
Venusian rockers and occasional Earth dwellers, Valient Thorr, will begin working on a new album at the start of 2008. The band will spend January in Southern California writing and demoing new material before heading to Seattle to record with Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, High On Fire) at Studio Litho and Soundhouse Recording in February. This new album and follow up to their 2006 release, Legend of the World, will be released Summer 2008.
Valient Himself, lead singer of the group, said this about working with Endino, “Man, we’re psyched to begin working with Jack on the new album. Not only because of his discography, but after meeting him out on the Volcom Tour, I realized he was just as big of a record obsessive as I was.” Valient Thorr and Endino met and toured together earlier this year on the Volcom Tour where Endino was playing guitar in the group, Kandi Coded. Valient Himself goes on to say, “Check out his [Endino’s] meticulously detailed website, we could geek out on it for hours about hard to find badass tunes. The dude knows his sh*t back to front. This record is going to be over the top.”
Valient Thorr will be road testing some new songs – “Mask Of Sanity”, “Infinite Lives”, and “1000 Winters In a Row” – this month, when they join up for a two-week tour with The Sword and Black Cobra (see all dates below).

0 Polkadot Cadaver Schedules CD Release Performances!
POLKADOT CADAVER (EX-DOG FASHION DISCO) SCHEDULES
CD RELEASE PERFORMANCES IN CLEVELAND AND BALTIMORE
DEBUT ALBUM “PURGATORY DANCE PARTY” IN STORES NOVEMBER 27TH, 2007 ON ROTTEN RECORDS, NEW TRACKS POSTED ONLINE
Baltimore based Polkadot Cadaver, featuring Todd Smith, Jasan Stepp and John Ensminger formerly of Dog Fashion Disco, have announced CD release performances in Cleveland, OH on November 30th and December 1st, 2007 in Baltimore, MD.
The members of Polkadot Cadaver cut their teeth recording and touring relentlessly in avant-garde alt-metal act Dog Fashion Disco. During the near decade the group spent in Dog Fashion Disco. Smith and his merry band of misfits would amass a loyal underground following of fans (dubbed the “mushroom cult”) through countless tours with the likes of Slayer, Mindless Self Indulgence, Nothingface and Lacuna Coil. Although Dog Fashion Disco never achieved commercial success, their musical legacy gained the respect of musical contemporaries like Serj Tankian of System of a Down (who made a guest appearance on Anarchists of Good Taste), Mushroomhead and American Head Charge, while the group’s music lives on through the internet and continues to create new members of the “mushroom cult” long after the band’s demise.
“We came to a stand still with Dog Fashion Disco,” says Smith about the demise of his former outfit. “We weren’t making any money, but we were touring non-stop and it seemed like we were chasing our tail.”
While Smith and company may have become sick of living the vagabond lifestyle that a touring metal band requires, the thought of giving up music entirely never even crossed their minds. Within mere months of their former outfit’s demise the group had created a new group, Polkadot Cadaver to unleash their schizophrenic musical madness.
“Jasan and I decided to start a studio band and Polkadot Cadaver started as shells of songs on Jasan’s computer. After we fleshed out the songs we pitched it to Rotten Records, because we loved how they handled the last Dog Fashion Disco album,” says Smith about the formation of the group.
“They immediately got behind us and as soon as we received a recording budget we went to Wrightway Studios to work and complete the record. Polkadot Cadaver is very similar to Dog Fashion Disco stylistically. The songs are still very quirky and different from each other.”
Polkadot Cadaver’s debut album, “Purgatory Dance Party” is slated for release on November 27th, 2007 through Rotten Records. Recorded in the bowels of Baltimore with producer Steven Wright (Jimmie’s Chicken Shack, SR-71), Polkadot Cadaver’s debut album picks up right where Dog Fashion Disco left off. Schizophrenic, ambitious and completely insane, Polkadot Cadaver removes musical barriers to create their own brand of unique musical lunacy. The group has currently uploaded four songs from their forthcoming debut album at the following location www.myspace.com/polkadotcadaver
Polkadot Cadaver Upcoming Shows:

Dec 01 2007 Baltimore, Maryland @ Sonar
