When settling in to listen to the new Crazy Lixx album, My Religion, I had an idea of what was in store for me but wasn’t fully expecting what I got. Upon the first few notes hitting my ears, I was immediately taken back to a time when music was great and big hair reigned supreme. Get out your Aqua Net and your spandex, folks; these Swedes are going to rock you like it’s 1987.
Although the throw back to the 80’s is right up my alley, there were qualities about it that didn’t always sit well with me. Don’t get me wrong, I love, love, love 80’s rock, but with current bands, I appreciate a little more
updated take on it. Taking influence from the bands of the 80’s is great; however, at times the influence was over-saturated on this album. For instance, “My Medicine” sounds like Poison and Def Leppard had a torrid love affair together and “My Medicine” was the result of that union. The similarities between this song and Poison and Def
Leppard are uncanny.
That being said, this album still rocks. Killer guitars and vocals set this off and make you bang your head. From hot chicks (“She’s Mine”) to staying young and having fun (“21 ‘Til I Die”), it’s got all elements of rock ‘n roll covered. Just to mix it up a little bit, they throw in “Desert Bloom,” a little bluesy interlude with some kick ass slide guitar. And don’t think for one second that Crazy Lixx will leave you without a ballad! No way! “What of Our Love” is a heart breaking, please come back to me love song that would make any girl rethink why she left.
If you’re feeling nostalgic for the good ol’ days, then put this in your MP3 player and crank it. My Religion doesn’t stray from the 80’s rock recipe at all, but it’s a solid recipe and Crazy Lixx has perfected it.
For more information on Crazy Lixx, check out the band’s myspace page. My Religion will be released in United States on April 20th. For those of you not wanting to wait, you can buy it from CD Inzane now!

Frontiers Records announces the release of CRAZY LIXX second album “New Religion” on March 19th in Europe and April 6th in the USA.
January 2010 – Crazy Lixx, one of the most exciting bands to come out of the Sleaze-Rock movement renaissance in Sweden, together with Crashdïet, Hardcore Superstar, Babylon Bombs and Vains of Jenna, are back with the release of the brand new album entitled New Religion.
Crazy Lixx was formed in 2002 in Malmö, Sweden. The core line-up up until the first album consisted of vocalist Danny Rexon (also known as Dirtchild Danny or D.C. Danny), guitarist Vic Zino, drummer Joél Cirera and bass player Loke Rivano. The current line-up features guitarist Andy Dawson in Vic Zino’s place after the latter joined Hardcore Superstar.
Crazy Lixx debuted with Loud Minority in November 2007, an album that notwithstanding an underground release, received a great acclaim from the media and fans, reaching position #2 in the national Swedish Hard Rock chart.
The band spent all of 2008 and parts of 2009 touring like hell all over Europe and writing material for the new album, working hard to define their own music style which, even though was often compared to the likes of Def Leppard, KISS, Warrant and Skid Row, it has now matured and evolved in a personal and ultra-melodic interpretation of the Sleaze-Arena Hard Rock style.
The final result is New Religion, the new album which includes a dozen Hard Rock gems (out of over the double amount of songs written) recorded at Polar Studios in Stockholm, along with producer Chris Laney (Europe, Crashdïet, Candlemass).
We set out with one goal, and that was to beat the living s**t out of “Loud Minority” with these new songs, and if you ask me, we’ve beaten it black and blue. I can’t wait to get these new songs played live, states singer Danny Rexon.
And thanks to killer anthems like My Medicine and such cuts as The Witching Hour, Children of the Cross, Rock and a Hard Place and 21 ’til I Die (just to name a few), the guys can consider their mission accomplished and look at 2010 as a key year to break their talent on to the international markets!
New Religion includes the following tracks:
Rock and a Hard Place; My Medicine; 21 ‘Til I Die; Blame it on Love; Road to Babylon; Children of the Cross; The Witching Hour; Lock up Your Daughter; She’s Mine; What of Our Love; Desert Bloom; Voodoo Woman.
CRAZY LIXX are:
Danny Rexon, vocals
Andy Dawson, guitars
Joél Cirera, drums
Loke Rivano, bass
Crazy Lixx sent out the following message this afternoon:
After weeks of recording and mixing there’s finally a finished Master forthe upcoming Crazy Lixx album! We’ve spent endless hours in the studio, Chris Laney has been working on pure overdrive, and everyone has really performed beyond what any of us thought was possible. The result is simply awesome! The new album will be titled ‘New Religion’ and should be due for release on Frontiers Records in the first months of 2010.
We still need to do the artwork and graphics for it, and at the moment we’re working with artists and photographers to give this music the packaging we feel it deserves!
This is the track list for New Religion:
1. Rock and a Hard Place
2. My Medicine (R.O.C.K)
3. 21 ‘Til I Die
4. Blame it on Love
5. Road to Babylon
6. Children of the Cross
7. The Witching Hour
8. Lock up Your Daughter
9. She’s Mine
10. What of our Love
11. Desert Bloom
12. Voodoo Woman

The album, set for release during spring 2010, will be the first release through Crazy Lixx’ new label Frontiers.
– We are extremely happy to have sealed this co-operation with Frontiers and we’ve got a really great album on the way so naturally we hope this will be a great leap forward in our career , says lead singer Danny Rexon.
The band has spent all of 2008 writing material for the new album and now picked out a dozen hard rock gems (out of over the double amont of songs written) to be recorded. – “We set out with one goal, and that was to beat the living s**t out of Loud Minority with these new songs, and If you ask me, we’ve beaten it black and blue. I can’t wait to get these new songs recorded!

After months of searching, Crazy Lixx have found their new guitarist in 19-year old Andy Dawson (Ex-SHARP). “We are very satisfied with our new member. He was our first chioce afer having gone through all the applications that we recieved and we’re completely confident that he will be a worthy successor to Vic Zino.
Andy is a very talented guitar player and despite his young age he has a mature style of playing combined with lots of experience of performing live on stage from his last band SHARP.
In addition, and this is probaly one of the most important aspects for us, he fits perfectly in the group on a personal level; He shares the same visions for Crazy Lixx and will contribute with the same energy and commitment as the rest of us in order to push the band forward. – Danny, Joey & Luke
