Henrik Ostergaard, lead Singer for the band Dirty Looks and current FnA Recording Artist, passed away this morning, Thursday January 27th, 2011 at 9:18 a.m. The Erie County, Pennsylvania coroner stated that he had died of natural causes while under hospice care. Three independent albums and an EP would soon follow, which led to Dirty Looks getting signed by Atlantic Records. Re-release of “Slave to the Machine set for February 27th, 2009 :
The official reissue date release for the CD from 1996 “Slave to the Machine” is February 27th and sold by Perris Records.
This CD was the last one recorded by the band before Henrik decided to call it a day with Dirty Looks and founded Burning Orange with Scott Robison on vocals.
“Slave” was the 11th album in Dirty Looks’ discography and became quickly one of the hardest to find, it hit the highest prices on the second-hand market where it was sold up to a hundred bucks by lucky owners of the CD.
This remastered reissue will comes out with 2 bonus tracks recorded live from the Warner Theater show in Erie, PA on October 5th 2008, those tracks are “Everythings Gonna Be Alright” and the encore’s song “Let There Be Rock”.
You can already hearing 2 remastered tunes (‘Murder For Money’ and
‘Droperidol’) from this re-release on www.myspace.com/dirtylookseurope
Superdeluxe is the follow up effort to Dirty Looks 2007 CD, Gasoline. This disc features Henrik Ostergaard along with returning members Paul Lidel on guitar, and Jack Pyers on bass.
Henrik Ostergaard’s voice hasn’t changed one bit since the classic Dirty Looks CD, Cool From the Wire. I have always liked his razor sharp vocals, and he is definitely in fine form here. Paul Lidel is obviously influenced by Angus Young. His guitar work here is superb, and seems to be the perfect compliment to Ostergaard’s vocals.
The production issues that were present on Gasoline are all gone on Superdeluxe. This is a great sounding CD all the way through.
Some of the stand out tunes on this disc are ‘A Million MIles”, “Fast Ride”, and “Not Enough”. I must admit that I don’t think Superdeluxe is as strong as Cool From the Wire. This is however a very solid disc that seems to get better with multiple listens. If you are a fan of any of Dirty Looks’ previous releases, you ought to pick this disc up.
Superdeluxe, with the new updated album cover is available now through CDBaby.com. For more information on Dirty Looks, check out their website here.

Austin,TX transplant Paul Lidel has been kicking ass in a number of hard rock bands over the years. Sadly, if you were to bring his name up amongst rock fans, the majority of the people wouldn’t know who he was.
The bands that he has been members of over the years have put out some great hard rock records, and that is due to the excellent guitar playing and back up vocals Paul Lidel provides with each new release.
The first time that I have heard any music featuring Paul, was the 1988, Max Norman produced release by Dirty Looks, called Cool From the Wire.
Dirty Looks went on to put out several records over the years of which Paul played lead guitar on.
In 1994, Paul took over the lead guitar slot with Jason McMaster’s band Dangerous Toys, and later formed Broken Teeth, with McMaster in 1999.
In 2007, Paul has joined a new band, Adrenaline Factor, that has quite a bit of buzz going for them right now.
Paul has been playing live since he was 14 years old, and has been kicking ass ever since.
