Greek Metallers Firewind have just release a new video, “Wall of Sound” in support of their new album, Few Against Many which will be released on May 21st (Europe), May 22nd (N. America) and May 23rd (Japan). U.S Fans can pre-order the album here.
FIREWIND’s Gus G. has checked in to comment on the clip as follows: “We wanted to do a different video this time, instead of the usual indoor studio shootings. So we figured we’d show the band in its comfort zone – on stage. The clip was shot on our most recent shows in Greece this past January and you can witness the mayhem that goes down when we play in our home country! Enjoy!”

FIREWIND recently made waves across the US once again with their stellar new disc ‘Days of Defiance’ and the ensuing headline tour that rocked the states alongside Powerglove and The Absence. Now, as GUS G treks across North America playing with the icon OZZY OSBOURNE, he will take a break from his busy schedule and host tonight’s edition of Headbangers Ball on MTV2.
Tune in to hear the story of how GUS G got his start in metal all the way to playing arenas alongside metal’s most infamous madman. 0 FIREWIND Unveil Days of Defiance Album Cover Art and Track Listing; Announce iTunes Exclusive Track
The Greek melodic metal phenomenon FIREWIND, led by the young guitar sensation Gus G. has returned with the scathing new studio album effort Days of Defiance, which is easily their defining musical moment. The much anticipated disc is set for an October 25th release in Europe, as well as an October 26th release in North America. Days of Defiance is a truly ambitious and dynamic opus featuring some of the most brilliant guitar playing the genre has seen in many years.

A special iTunes edition for Days of Defiance will feature the exclusive new track, “Riding On The Wind.”
FIREWIND’s guitarist and songwriter Gus G., currently on tour with Ozzy Osbourne in Europe, checks in with the following comment about the album and its artwork: “I’m very excited and cannot wait for our fans to listen to our new album! We feel we’ve captured great performances and took our songwriting to the next level on this one. There’s tons of cool guitar on there and I believe Bob has finally managed to reach warp-speed with his keyboard solos! Even more seriously, I highly recommend that you listen to this album at a very loud volume.
“As for the artwork, it was once again done by our visual wizard and webmaster extraordinaire, Gustavo Sazes. This time we asked Gustavo to come up with a great landscape scenery, with a more traditional approach and even get the “pencil” style of artwork on there, but also combine it with more modern stuff. So, he gave us that…with a slight futuristic, sci-fi element and I think the end result is stunning!”

Greek melodic metallers FIREWIND are checking in at last again with good news regarding current activity as well as first details about their upcoming new studio album, which was completed throughout the last months and which will be ready to be launched worldwide via Century Media Records in the Fall of 2010.
As a first taster of great things to come, FIREWIND are currently featured on the May’s edition (Issue 205) Judas Priest tribute CD of UK’s Metal Hammer magazine, where FIREWIND present an addictive version of the classic “Breaking The Law” track and appear next to bands like Disturbed, Trigger The Bloodshed or Steelwing to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the “British Steel” album. FIREWIND mastermind and current OZZY OSBOURNE guitarist Gus G. checks in as follows:
“I know it’s been a few silent months, but this time we decided to be pretty quiet about the recording process of our new album. Anyways, before we go into revealing more info, we recently did a very fun project which was to be a part of Metal Hammer UK’s Tribute CD to Judas Priest!
We actually recorded everything for that cover song in our home studios and then passed over the files to Fredrik Nordström / Studio Fredman in Sweden for the mix. This also marks our first recording with our new drummer, Michael Ehre and the end result is killer (in our humble opinion), as we got to cover one of Metal’s most classic songs: “Breaking The Law”!
As for our new album, it’s scheduled for a release sometime this Fall and the name of it is “Days Of Defiance“. We’ll soon check back and reveal more info, song names, etc.”

0 Fury UK Confirmed for Bloodstock
Hard rock / metal band Fury UK have been confirmed to play the Bloodstock Open Air Metal festival 2008 on Saturday 16th August, at Catton Hall, Derby, on the Lava Stage. This will be the band’s Bloodstock debut & is a thrill not least due to the international artists also playing the event e.g. Nightwish, Opeth, Iced Earth, Evile & many more. The festival, which is justifiably right at the top of the gig calendar, takes place over 3 days in-all on 15th, 16th & 17th August.
This is an excellent addition to Fury UK’s exciting times currently as the band has a full gig schedule & have recently announced a September tour of the UK, including two dates with Greek power metallers Firewind, & several dates with the Swedish metal band Core Of Nation. The tour takes in London (two dates), Manchester, Bury, Leeds, Shrewsbury, Liverpool, Doncaster & Oswestry.
This year has seen things really take off for Fury UK, following the release of their “Salvation” EP. Clive Leighton, Head of Marketing for Bloodstock Festival says “Bands like Fury UK are exactly what we want at Bloodstock, representing the real future of hard rock & metal for many years to come”.
