The “Catch the Fever” Festival Grounds is a premier destination for a multi-day festival and includes onsite camping with access to restrooms and shower house, a general store for campers, VIP reserved seating, hospitality areas and much more.

Established in 2007 as a classic rock destination festival with the motto “life, liberty and the pursuit of rock,” Rocklahoma was revamped in 2010 as organizers teamed with AEG Live to create an event encompassing a much broader mix of classic, current and up-and-coming rock artists. In 2011, a record-breaking crowd of over 35,000 fans turned out for the festival, which raised over $10,000 for the American Red Cross as part of their tornado relief efforts in nearby Joplin, MO. In 2012, a national television audience was able to experience many Rocklahoma band performances in HD when AXS TV aired live coverage of the festival.

Rocklahoma marks the final event of the 2013 World’s Loudest Month. Created in partnership by AEG Live and Right Arm Entertainment, the World’s Loudest Month features the biggest names in rock music performing in five distinct U.S. concert atmospheres: Welcome To Rockville, Carolina Rebellion, Rockfest, Rock On The Range, and Rocklahoma. In 2012, the World’s Loudest Month featured over 100 artists playing for more than 200,000 rock music fans across the country on five consecutive weekends, confirming that rock music is as vital as ever.

Rocklahoma is proud to be sponsored by Bud Light, Hard Rock (presenting the Hard Rock 2nd Stage), Jägermeister, and Monster Energy.

Heaven’s Basement have been making a name for themselves via their relentless touring and fiery live show plus music that features huge guitar riffs, killer melodies and an arena-rock sound.  Originally formed in the East Midlands in England, Heaven’s Basement have toured with the likes of Seether, Halestorm, Papa Roach, Theory Of A Deadman, Shinedown, and more and played last year’s Download Festival in the UK to a packed tent of more than 5,000 fans.  Kerrang declared, “Heaven’s Basement play as if their lives depend on it.  They should already be a big name – bristling riffs and jagged, riotous hooks are their poison and exceptional is not too strong a word.”  Heaven’s Basement is Aaron Buchanan (vocals), Sid Glover (guitar), Rob Ellershaw (bass), and Chris Rivers (drums).

The band have been working on their long-awaited debut album, which is set for a spring 2012 release via Red Bull Records, who they’ve recently signed with. You can download Heaven Basement’s new song, ‘Paper Plague’  for free at this link.

0 Heavens Basement’s Richie Havenz Leaves Band

Heaven’s Basement sent out the following update today:

Hi guys, writing stuff like this is never easy so we’ll just come right out with
it.

Unfortunately, Richie has decided to leave Heaven’s Basement. This will probably
come as a surprise to most of you (as it did us) but to be honest we’ve seen
signs in Richie over the last few months that suggested there was something
wrong. He first told us about how he felt when we regrouped for some writing
sessions in the studio last month. Richie was upfront with us all about his
doubts in continuing. He feels he can no longer keep up with everything that
goes along with being part of Heaven’s Basement. He’s written a message for you
all, so here it is.

“After 18 months of amazing highs and amazing experiences, I feel that the
lifestyle and constant touring has taken its toll and its time for me to move on
to different pastures! In short guys, I’m afraid I will be stepping down as the
lead singer of Heaven’s Basement.

I want to thank everyone who has supported me through this amazing time in my
life. I also want to thank my brothers in HB for their understanding and
friendship! I would like to thank all the fans of Heavens Basement for all
their love and support over the last 2 years! You’ve all made my life a brighter
place!

I wish the guys all the luck in the world for their future.
Love ya!!”

It goes without saying that we’ll miss him, Richie will always be an important
part of the band’s history as one of the founding members. It’s not even two
years yet since the first Heaven’s Basement show but during that time we’ve had
some amazing times together which we’ll never forget. We’ve all become great
friends over the past few years and he was a very important part of what makes
the band chemistry work. We wish him all the best for the future, we’re sure he
will go on to do well in what ever path he chooses.

I guess you will all be wondering about what we’re going to do about the
upcoming tour dates we have. While we initially thought that Richie would come
out and play these tours with us until we found ourselves a new frontman, that’s
not going to be the case anymore. As you know, we’re not the kind of guys to let
a small thing like not having a singer get in the way, so we’re happy to say
that they will all be going ahead as planned! Us guys thrive of being on the
road, it’s what HB is about. We pride ourselves on being a live band. We’ve been
through our fair share of sticky situations in the past and always managed to
pull through, obviously losing your singer a couple of weeks before a two month
tour is a new thing for us but if there’s a way to make it work, we’ll find that
way. We’re lucky to have met and played alongside some great musicians over the
past few years which have fused some great friendships, this has led to our
saviour for these dates, our good friend Johnn
y Fallen. Johnny’s been working hard with us for the past few days on our set,
he’s doing a great job at learning the stuff at such sort notice. Learning an
hour long headline set in a week is no easy task! Lucky for us his own band
theFALLEN have a break in their schedule so he’s able to stand in for us on the
upcoming dates. Massive thanks to all the guys in his band….we’re very
grateful for this and we owe ya’s one!!

Johnny’s really excited about coming out on tour. We’ve told him all good stuff
about you guys and we know you will all give him a warm welcome when he takes to
the stage with us!
Aside from all this, the search is now on for our future full time singer.
Obviously we’re keen to get someone in as soon as we can, as we already have a
lot more tours and festivals booked and this year will be our busiest yet. We’re
lining up auditions as soon as we return from the Theory Of A Deadman tour.
Anyone interested should email us at info@heavensbasement.com with the subject
title “singer”, some samples of them singing (either a myspace link or
attachment), photos and a bio that covers basic info such as age, location etc..

So, as clichéd as it is, a new chapter begins in our history, one thing you all
should know is that us four guys are as fired up as ever, we know people
naturally become concerned whenever a band loses a member but we’re not going
anywhere! We’re so glad that we’re able to keep on the road despite this
situation and we have no doubt that we’ll look back on this in the future as
another obstacle that we turned into a positive!

Anyway, its time for us to get back in the rehearsal room with Johnny! We hope
you lot have all got our lyrics down to give him a hand over the coming weeks if
he needs it! 😉

We’ll see you on tour

For the majority of 2009 I have been preaching to anyone that will listen how great English rockers Heaven’s Basement are and how big I think they are going to be. So naturally I was thrilled when I made contact with drummer Chris Rivers back in August on the possibility of interviewing the band. The band agreed and everything was set to go and unfortunately as fast as it came together it also ground to a halt with the announcement of bassist Rob Randell leaving the band for personal reasons, a few canceled dates, and finding a new bass player, and not to mention getting back on the road to finish a European tour.

Finally Chris and I were able to make contact and reschedule, so  now without further delay I proudly present to you one of the best new bands of 2009…Heaven’s Basement!

HRH: First off guys I would like to thank you for taking the time to talk to us here at Hard Rock Hideout.

Chris Rivers:: Our pleasure! Thank you!!

HRH: For the fans that may not know four of you guys (Richie, Chris, Rob, and Jonny) have been playing together for quiet a while first as Hurricane Party and then Roadstar. You released an e.p. as Hurricane Party and two kick ass albums as Roadstar.

Chris Rivers: Rob is actually no longer a member of the band, but yes, myself, Richie and Jonny have played together for 3-4 years in those bands. Jonny and Rob were actually the roots of this band, they have played together in bands since they were 14 years old. Myself and Richie joined Hurricane Party later on, we released one E.P as Hurricane Party on Sanctuary Records, soon after this the band changed name to Roadstar and later released 2 albums, the second was released at the same time as we split up.

HRH: What happened with the band as Roadstar after the release of the second album (Glass Mountain)?

Chris Rivers: We got ourselves into a very bad and unproductive situation with the bands management/label, it happened over time and one day we just all looked at each and said what the fuck have we got ourselves into. It wasn’t always like that, during the Hurricane Party days we had a fairly healthy working relationship with the people that worked for us and with us but that took a massive wrong turn around the time we changed name.

It came to the point were we all became sick of it and situation we were in, it didn’t feel like our band anymore so we ended it. We had some great times during that band, but it was totally clear to us when we had to leave it behind.

HRH: How long was it after Roadstar finished that you decided to give it another go?

Chris Rivers: After Roadstar split we all took about 6 months out in which we all went separate ways and done our own thing, we keep in touch and would regularly meet up to party, hang out etc.. It was only a matter of time before we started jamming together again! I think we all knew it was coming, it was just important for us to take some time out. There was no doubt that any of us wouldn’t be in a band again.

HRH: How did you come up with the name Heaven’s Basement?

Chris Rivers: During a party at Richie’s flat it was suggested we go down to Hevenz’s basement for a jam :)! it stuck with us from then!

HRH: Was it frustrating starting over 3x as a band just when it seemed you were starting to build some momentum?

Chris Rivers: Not really, Heaven’s Basement was totally different to anything we had done in the past! It was just us five with no ties or music industry bullshit to deal with, just 5 guys who love playing music, the band was born on energy and good times..it wasn’t forced. If we didn’t feel any vibe we wouldn’t have bothered,  we didn’t have an attitude of ‘oh fuck, we gotta start again and get back to where we were fast!!’ When we started Heaven’s Basement we wanted to build up right from the start on our terms so it was an exciting challenge for us.

HRH: You have some great songs from Roadstar and Hurricane Party such as Crown of Thorns, Roadstar, Hold My Love, Stone, Get This, Rays, and especially If You Say. Do you still play any of these songs live or is there a chance we could hear new versions of them in the future?

Chris Rivers: 100% no, that’s all history for us, there is more chance of me becoming King of England haha! We need to make it clear that Heaven’s Basement is not another version of the former band,  it just so happens that 3 of us played in bands together in the past!

HRH: When did Sid Glover come on board as guitarist replacing Robin Hirschfield?

Chris Rivers: Sid joined as the band’s touring guitarist about 6 months before the end.

HRH: How did the band meet Sid?

Chris Rivers: A few of us met him at a guitar show a few years back and kept in touch.

HRH: The band has always had a bluesy sound a’la Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones. What are some of the other bands to influence Heaven’s Basement?

Chris Rivers: We take our influences from many genres of music, we don’t try to sound like one thing really..we know what we are which is a good time rock n roll band with influences of blues, punk and glam but we all listen to lots of different types of music so all those influences come into our song writing and live show.

HRH: You guys are a songwriting machine. You have a 6 song e.p. available on I-Tunes and Heavensbasement.com but you have posted around 16 songs on your Myspace and Heavensbasement.com player. Of the songs I’ve heard so far Can’t Let Go, N.P.D., Mirrors, and Such Is Life are my favorites, but to be honest I haven’t heard a bad song from you guys yet.

Chris Rivers: Cool, thanks! we feel our song writing is getting stronger all the time, there are so many ideas between the 5 of us that sometimes we have too much to work with haha! we are really excited about when we get into writing our debut album, we already have loads of ideas for it.

HRH: How did the band decide what songs would make the e.p.?

Chris Rivers: To be honest, we didn’t have many songs at the time, so we just got into the studio and slammed them down in about 2 days,  the songs that are on there are actually the only ones we recorded! We recorded ‘Can’t let go’, ‘Misunderstood’, ’10 Minutes’ and ‘deadman’ in different session. Those tracks were produced by Bob Marlette, Bob is one of the most talented guys we have ever met..he’s an absolute pleasure to work with and really knows how to get the best out of a band. We are really excited about working with Bob again in the future!

HRH: What are some favorites of the band?

Chris Rivers: Live favorites are ‘Tear’, ‘Reign’, ‘Executions Day’..also the heavy shit like ’10 mins’ is fun to play! I personally love the tracks where I get to really lay into my drums haha!

HRH: When will the world get a full album from Heaven’s Basement?

Chris Rivers: We are aiming for early 2010, that’s the plan.. we want to have it released before summer 2010, we will then do the full euro festival circuit next summer. We are still looking for the right label home, offers have come our way but nothing has felt right as of yet and we haven’t felt a desperate need to find a label so we won’t rush that side of things.

HRH: Will it be all new songs or will it have previously released songs also?

Chris Rivers: It will be all new songs, I am 99% sure of that.

HRH: Will you be posting anymore new songs on Myspace or the band’s website in the near future?

Chris Rivers: We will actually have some brand new tracks on our myspace in the coming weeks!!

HRH: The band tours like crazy, you just wrapped up a tours with Buckcherry, appearance at Sonisphere, and Papa Roach. What were those experiences like?

Chris Rivers: Amazing! At the end of the day Heaven’s Basement is a live band, thats where we do our thing. Being on the road has become second nature to us, we are still unsigned so we don’t have a label giving us tour support, we have to support ourselves and we do it very well! Its quite a nice feeling to be able to do it that way, hard work pays off you know. We have had a great summer touring alongside the likes of Black Stone Cherry, Tesla, Shinedown, Papa Roach and Buckcherry..there are so many stories from these tours already haha! Playing with bands of of that caliber really pushes you to become better as well, sometimes a good arse kicking is a good thing! 🙂

HRH: You just came off the road with Papa Roach. What were those shows like?

Chris Rivers:..It was insane!!!! the crowds were wild and Papa Roach/Madina Lake are all great to hang with.

HRH: Now the big question when are you guys going to hit the U.S.?

Chris Rivers: Ask Buckcherry;) .. we want to get over to the states asap, I am sure we will be over in 2010 to take a break from Europe.

HRH: It seems like 5 new bands from Sweden come out every week, but the U.K. has been holding it’s own with new hard rock bands making noise not only Heaven’s Basement but the Answer, Million Dollar Reload, and the Glitterati to name a few. What are some of the other British bands we should keep our eyes and ears open for?

Chris Rivers: Yeah, there is a few good bands in the UK that are touring hard like us guys,  we have never really give a fuck about scenes, we are quite happy to do our own thing with or without other bands but there is no doubt that a few bands doing the same thing does help each other out, just like the the New wave of British metal back in the 80s, the thrash scene in LA, the grunge scene..etc etc. I would recommend people check out the following bands, Dear Superstar,  New Device, The Crave, Decadenze, Sworn to Oath, Hollywood Tease, Tequila Rocking Bird and Wired Desire. These are all bands we have played with that are touring the UK hard.

HRH: I’m a big fan of all your music both as Roadstar and Heaven’s Basement and I could sit here all day asking questions. But is there anything else you would like to tell the fans before I let you go?

Chris Rivers: Sure, a big thanks to everyone that has supported us guys, no matter when from and where from, it means everything to us.

HRH: One more question besides Heavensbasement.com and Myspace where else can the fans find you online?

Chris Rivers: Facebook and Twitter! 🙂

HRH: Thank you for taking the time to talk to us today we really appreciate it.

Chris Rivers:  Thanks Brian and Hard Rock Hideout for taking the time to do this!

Note: As I was putting the final touches on this interview, Heaven’s Basement announced Rob Randell’s replacement had been found. His name ironically is Rob (no last name needed)

RobRandell
Heaven’s Basement sent out the following message tonight:

It is our sad duty to announce that for personal reasons Rob has decided to
leave the band. This is to take place immediately and so he will no longer be
playing any of the up coming shows. This is a sad day for us as a band as Rob
has been our friend and partner in crime since the beginning. But it is his
desire to now move on to different pastures and as sad as we are, we respect
that and support him in every way. He is and always will be a friend of Heaven’s
Basement. With his help we have managed to secure a temporary replacement to
fulfil the up coming shows, until a permanent replacement can be found. For
those of you planning to come to any of the next gigs we will be playing a
slightly shorter set than usual given the little amount of time we’ve had to
prepare, but we’ll still be making the most of each show! All of us would like
to wish Rob luck for the future, see below for a message from Rob.

Richie, Sid, Jonny, Chris

“I am writing this blog with great regret for I have decided to leave Heaven’s
Basement and move on to pastures new. I have had 10 amazing years of highs and
lows working as a musician. But after much deliberation, battleing with my own
thoughts and feelings, I have come to realize that my heart is just not in it
any more.

Myself and the guys remain the best of friends, and I wish them all the success
they deserve. They really are a great bunch of guys, whom I admire and respect.
I have shared many, many good times with them over the years. The memories of
which will stay with me forever.

I just want to thank you all for your fantastic and loyal support. I have come
across many bands, but few have the dedicated followers that Heaven’s Basement
have generated and it’s a pleasure to have met you all!

Please continue to spread the word of The Basement and get behind the boys and
whoever steps into my place. I hope he has a good sense of humour as he’s gonna
need it to get through the cannings!!!

All that remains for me to say really, is a very, very fond farewell to you all,
and maybe I’ll see you all at a gig sometime in the future, but as a fan this
time

Rob Randell”

1 Heaven’s Basement – S/T (Release Year – 2008)

heavensbasementI have been a fan of England’s Heaven’s Basement from the beginning, when they were known as both Hurricane Party and Roadstar. But I think the music they have created as Heaven’s Basement is by far superior to anything  they have released in the past. Their self titled 6 song e.p. is simply excellent, it has everything a fan of hard rock would want, killer songs, killer hooks, and solos with enough attitude to fill a large room.

Everything gets started with “Tear Your Heart Out”, this song is like a punch in the face that turns into a beating. Bassist Rob Randell lays down a great groove with drummer Chris Rivers as Sid Glover and Jonny Rocker are assaulting you with their twin guitars. Richie Hevanz’s voice sounds like he lives on a steady diet of whiskey and cigarettes and it is a perfect match for the band. This song is a classic example of drop the top, crank the stereo, and sing along at the top of your lungs as you are flying down the road.

“Executioner’s Day” keeps us in the same frame of mind, it may be a little heavier than “Tear Your Heart Out” but it still has a killer groove and Sid Glover absolutely smokes this solo.

If you have been paying attention you should have noticed how many times the word groove pops up and while all six songs on this release are filled with groove but none as much as “Graduation”. Randell and Rivers are absolutely awesome on this song with Glover close behind.

“Saint Routine” and “Fear of Getting Off” both follow the same recipe as the first three songs with the same outstanding results. To wrap up the guys go out just like they came in with all guns blazing with “Reign on My Parade”.

The only complaint I have about this release is there aren’t more songs, especially “No Pity” and “Can’t Let Go” which you can hear on both the band’s myspace page and the official web site. But I understand them not being included because they were written and recorded after the e.p. was released. If this was a full album it would be amazing. But some songs are better than none and this e.p. makes me more excited about the release of a full album from Richie Hevanz and the fellas.

You can BUY the e.p. at this link http://www.backstreet-merch.com/bands/hvnbt/product.asp?item=hvnbt03 and you can check out all of these songs and more at http://www.heavensbasement.com/jukebox.php or the band’s Myspace page www.myspace.com/heavensbasementofficial

You can add Heaven’s Basement to the list of bands that are bringing hard rock back to the spotlight and of the bands on that list Heaven’s Basement may damn well be the best of the bunch.

Welcome to the first edition of Hard Rock Hideout’s “Fresh Blood”.  We are going to introduce everyone to some new and up and coming bands that we think will be making some noise in the near future. For our first edition we have from the U.K., Heaven’s Basement, AC/DC once sang “It’s A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘N Roll)” and these guys have exemplified that statement. Comprised of vocalist Richie Hevanz, guitarists Sid Glover and Jonny Rocker, and the rhythm section of drummer Chris Rivers and bassist Rob Randell. They were first known as Hurricane Party and issued their debut e.p. “Get This” in 2004. But out of respect to the victims of Hurricane Katrina changed their name to Roadstar and released two albums Grand Hotel in ’06 and followed up with Glass Mountain in ’07.  The story supposedly goes that after a disagreement with their previous management team they were forced not only to change their name but quit playing their previous catalog of songs. Now the guys are back with a new name, but the with same sound and same great songwriting displayed on their previous releases. “Tear Your Heart Out”, “Executioner’s Day”, “Saint Routine”, “Reign On My Parade” and “I’ll Never Write A Love Song” are just a few of the great songs these guys have put together, you can check these songs and more at http://www.myspace.com/heavensbasementofficial or you can check the band out at http://www.heavensbasement.com where you can order the band’s e.p. and listen to more songs not posted on the band’s myspace page.
