NEW ALBUM THE GREAT ESCAPE ARTIST COMING THIS FALL
Tonight, July 25th, JANE’S ADDICTION will be broadcasting a live performance at the launch event for the new LG Thrill 4G phone. Fans can watch the event streaming live on YouTube over at www.youtibe.com/comealive. Those in attendance will be capturing the show using the Thrill 4G’s dual-lenses. After the event, the footage which was shot by those fans, will then be packaged into a 60-minute concert and uploaded to YouTube 3D on August 4th.
Leading up to the event, Jane’s Addiction has been releasing videos of themselves capturing footage using the new Thrill 4G. In the third video released before the event, the band invited a lucky fan onstage to shoot the band in 3D using the Thrill 4G during their performance in Portugal. Fans can watch this and all the 3D videos on the Jane’s Addiction Comes Alive YouTube page.

NEW ALBUM THE GREAT ESCAPE ARTIST COMING FALL 2011
JANE’S ADDICTION will be broadcasting a live performance at the launch event for the new LG Thrill 4G phone hosted by LG on July 25th. Jane’s Addiction will be performing for the private event, with fans in attendance capturing footage of the performance using the duel-lenses Thrill 4G. For fans not attending the event, the performance will be streaming live through YouTube in 2D for all to watch starting at 9PM EST. After the event, footage from the performance will then be edited into a 60-minute documentary, which will be the first 3D video to be uploaded to YouTube 3D on August 4th.
Jane’s Addiction has released a video of the band in their studio recording a new song titled “Irresistible Force,” which will be on their upcoming new album, The Great Escape Artist. The video shows the band using the new LG Thrill to film each other recording the new song. Lead singer Perry Farrell spoke about the Thrill 4G and partnering with LG for the event saying, “We are so into technology and playing with technology almost as an instrument, and seeing what we can do with technology. And the latest thing has been the cell phone and 3D.” Perry continues, “we want to be able to have our audience watch us in 3D during a live performance.”

NEW ALBUM THE GREAT ESCAPE ARTIST DUE OUT LATE SUMMER
JANE’S ADDICTION have now released a non-explicit version of their official video for “End To The Lies,” the first single off their upcoming album, The Great Escape Artist. The video was directed by Alex Bulkley (Robot Chicken) in Hollywood, CA at Studio 905 where the band shot live performances in front of a white back drop to be super imposed onto a women’s body. Fans can watch behind-the-scenes footage of the filming process and concept in creating the video.

The Alex Bulkley (“Robot Chicken”) directed video was shot in Hollywood, CA at Studio 905 where the band members were filmed giving a live performance in front of a white backdrop so they could later be superimposed onto women’s’ bodies. Watch the clip to find out more about the concept of the video from the director and learn how it mirrors what the band is all about from guitarist Dave Navarro. “The band hails from Los Angeles, CA,” explains Navarro. “We come from the street and so I think that the combination of the angst in the song, and the street element, the artistic element and then of course the love of sexuality and sensuality fused together, is pretty much what this band has been about since day one.” Fans can watch the official video in its entirety now.

Jane’s Addiction have partnered with ArtistDirect to debut the music video for their track “End To The Lies”, which comes from the band’s upcoming album ‘The Great Escape Artist‘. To direct the video, the band enlisted the help of ShadowMachine Films (Adult Swim’s Robot Chicken) to create a visually stunning piece of art. The 42-minute set consisted of classic Jane’s tracks, as well as “End To The Lies” from the band’s forthcoming new album ‘The Great Escape Artist‘, which is due out this August through Capitol Records.
For The Great Escape Artist, Jane’s Addiction is working with producer Rich Costey (Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Interpol) and TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek. Sitek, who is best known for his production work on TV on the Radio and Yeah Yeah Yeahs, is writing, programming, and playing bass on the album. On Thursday (April 7th), the band made an MP3 of “End To The Lies” available for free on their web site http://www.janesaddiction.com. “To me, it sounds like an updated Jane’s Addiction as it has the hypnotic repetitive nature of some of our early work combined with a modern approach,” guitarist Dave Navarro told Spinner. “This track was released as a taste of the record for our die-hard fans. I can’t wait for everyone to hear our first single next month and then the album later in the summer.”
Forming in 1985 in L.A., Jane’s Addiction as been firmly embedded in the collective pop culture consciousness for 25 years now. Perry Farrell stands out as one of music’s most forward-thinking and enigmatic frontmen. Dave Navarro remains a veritable guitar god. Drummer Stephen Perkins’ tribal stomp has also influenced a generation of percussionists. The hugely influential Los Angeles-based band has sold in excess of seven million records in the U.S. alone. When lead singer Perry Farrell created the traveling Lollapalooza festival, it galvanized the alternative rock movement and brought it to a whole new level.

JANE’S ADDICTION yesterday (April 7) gave their fans the chance to be the first to hear music from THE GREAT ESCAPE ARTIST, their first new studio album in eight years.
The band’s singer Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro and drummer Stephen Perkins are giving away a free download of the final mix of ”End To The Lies” exclusively at their website: www.janesaddiction.com. THE GREAT ESCAPE ARTIST will be released this August on Capitol Records (exact date TBA).
An early, unfinished version of “End To The Lies” leaked last Wednesday (March 30) in Chile when Farrell made an appearance on the “La Ley D Rock” program on the Chilean radio station Radio Futuro, after which the song became an instant viral sensation.
JANE’S ADDICTION were in Chile as one of the headliners of the inaugural Lollapalooza Chile, which took place last weekend (April 2-3) in Santiago’s O’Higgins Park. See band photos below and this New York Times story:
