From Yngwie Malmsteen, Talisman, Eyes & even Skrapp Mettle, I have been listening to Jeff Scott Soto for what seems like forever.  I have enjoyed every musical project and band he has been involved with.   One thing is for certain, Mr. Soto doesn’t know how to put out a bad release. Needless to say, it was almost predestined that I would enjoy Jeff’s latest effort, Damage Control.

On Damage Control, Jeff Scott Soto doesn’t reinvent the wheel, and he doesn’t need to.  Soto delivers his excellent and severely underrated vocals to another batch of great melodi, hard rock tunes. Chances are if you have enjoyed the music of JSS in the past, you are going to like Damage Control a lot.  The CD is 100 % quality rock and roll, and it does not disappoint.

I prefer the harder edged numbers on the CD, “Krazy World”, “Afterworld”, and “Damage Control”. These songs are good, but they are not the best songs on Damage Control.

The opening song “Give a Little More” has a pretty good message, and is a great song too. “How To Love Again” is as close to melodic rock perfection as it gets.  This song is easily one Jeff Scott Soto’s best tunes.

“Bonafide” is a massive ballad that should get tons of airplay everywhere. “Look Inside Your Heart” is another excellent song (see video below) that has been getting a ton of replays from me.

Overall, Damage Control is another outstanding album from Jeff Scott Soto that is going to please the majority of his fans.  You should make a point to check it out, when it is released on March 27th.

If you buy any version of this CD, make sure you get the Deluxe Edition, which had three extra bonus tracks (“Afraid to Die”, “Take U Down”, and “Elena”) which are not on the standard version. You can pre-order Damage Control at this link!

Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of JEFF SCOTT SOTO’s fifth studio album “Damage Control” on March 23rd in Europe and March 27th in North America.

Extraordinary performer and amazing vocalist throughout, Jeff Scott Soto blasts through these hard rocking tracks with energy and masters the transition smoothly from heavy rock to a delicate ballad. For his new album “Damage Control”, Jeff has turned to many of his past influences and most requested aspects of his career by blending the art of Melodic Rock with Hard Rock throughout.

“I feel Damage Control is more of a return to what my fans would expect to hear from me. It’s a perfect blend of my first two solo albums with Frontiers Records; Prism and Lost in the Translation, but also mixes in some of my favorite moments of my past bands such as Talisman and Soul SirkUS” tells Jeff. “It is heavy, AOR, hard rock with loads of great riffs and melodies”

“Damage Control” was recorded in the fall of 2011 and is completed with appearances and co-writing along with his former and current band mates together with many guests including Jamie Borger and Nalley Påhlsson (Treat), Casey Grillo (Kamelot), Joel Hoekstra (Night Ranger) and legendary Y&T founding member Dave Meniketti. Jeff recalls: “Y&T drummer Mike Vanderhule played drums on a track and suggested I bring Dave on but, as he is a long time friend and one on the ‘wish list’ of people I would have loved to have, I didn’t want to get an excuse that he was too busy or not interested, to my surprise I got neither… he was willing to do it and I was not only grateful but beyond pleased to work with another musical hero!”

The album will be released in two exclusive configurations; the basic version in CD jewel box will include 11 songs, while the deluxe edition in digipak format has an additional 3 bonus tracks and a DVD. Full tracklisting is below:

CD: Give A Little More, Damage Control, Look Inside Your Heart, Die A Little, Take U Down*, If I Never Let Her Go, Tears That I Cry, BonaFide, Elena*, Krazy World, How To Love Again, AfterWorld, NeverEnding War, Afraid To Die*

* Bonus tracks only available on the Deluxe Edition.

DVD: Look Inside Your Heart (videoclip); NeverEnding War (videoclip); Damage Control (videoclip); EPK interview.

Jeff Scott Soto is currently planning tour dates that will support the release of the new record: “The plan is to do as much touring as possible wherever the World will have me. I plan to promote this album with a proper touring regiment!” concludes Jeff. Get ready for “Damage Control”, it will rock your World!

The first single “Look Inside Your Heart” can be streamed in full on Frontiers Records’ webradio: www.frontiers.it/webradio – the official trailer can be enjoyed following this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHMnFbmxEuM

Get ready for Damage Control, it will rock your World!
CRAZY LIXX
Crazy Lixx are busy in the studio recording their third album that will be entitled “Riot Avenue”. According to singer Danny Rexon: “This time the music is a little more riff-based and straight-forward. We wanted to make real a hard rock album, so we decided to have a little more raw feeling in the production, sound and songwriting compared to our previous albums and there’s a lot more up-tempo songs than we had on New Religion. Also, the addition of a second guitarrist, Edd Liam, has made it possible to add some twin guitar playing and other interesting musical stuff that we’ve used on the album”. Some of the song titles are “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot”, “Young Blood”, “Riot Avenue”, “Church of Rock”, “Fire it Up”, “Only the Dead Know” and more. The album is planned for a worldwide release in April 2012 and will be followed by the usual string of live dates around the World.
PRIDE OF LIONS
Pride of Lions is carrying on their proud heritage working hard on their as yet untitled fourth studio album. Jim Peterik says: “Our self titled debut released in 2002 is still many of our fans favorite albums. So this album is a bit of a return to form. Of course there will be a few surprises and Toby Hitchcock is singing stronger than ever. I’ve hit a stride on the songwriting with songs such as “Tie Down The Wind” and “Coin of the Realm”. I needed the time since The Roaring of Dreams to regroup and get reinspired.  If you can’t make a great record that will last the test of time – why even bother. This time Toby and me wanna take Pride of Lions on the road to promote this new one and spread the word”.  This new Pride of Lions from what we’ve heard so far promises to be both more melodic and harder edged. Release is planned for early summer 2012.
HARDLINE
Hardline will be back in 2012 with a brand new album and a new lineup which will mark the beginning of a new cooperation between singer Johnny Gioeli and the italian producer/keyboardist Alessandro Delvecchio (EDGE OF FOREVER, EDEN’S CURSE). The US singer says: “I’m really excited to be working with Frontiers on a new Hardline record! We have slated the release for mid 2012…This CD is filled with melody and class…I’m digging it.  I hope the Hardline fans enjoy this CD as much as I have enjoyed creating it…  Happy Holidays All!”
ECLIPSE
ECLIPSE are putting their finishing touches to their anticipated fourth studio album that will be entitled “Bleed And Scream”. Musically the band is taking off the new release where the last album finished, yet with more refined and progressed songwriting. It will be a 100% Eclipse-sounding album with big hooks, melodies and powerful riffs but it leans towards a more darker, moody and epic side of the band. Songs like the title-track, “Battlegrounds”, “A Bitter Taste” and “After the End of the World” will show an exciting new side of the songwriting of the band. There will also be the first ballad in the history of the band entitled “About to Break”. Singer Erik Martensson tells: ” This album was the hardest to write for us so far. On the other hand the most rewarding. We don´t know at this point how we are going to top this one. We have tweaked everything from quality of the songs, melodies, hooks, arrangements, guitar-riffs, vocal performances, guitar solos, drumming and the variety in the songwriting in general. No stone is left unturned this time.” Frontiers plans to release the album in the first half of 2012.
FIND ME
Singer Robbie LaBlanc of BLANC FACES and Swedish producer/songwriter Daniel Flores (MIND’S EYE; THE MURDER OF MY SWEET) have started working together on an exciting new project entitled FIND ME. Musically it will have an heavier edge compared to BLANC FACES and Robbie sings louder and stronger than ever ! Daniel Flores says “This cd is some of the best AOR songs I’ve ever worked on, there are songs for everybody here, it is going to be a monster. Robbie has one of the best voices in the business and I’m proud to be working with him, he reminds me of the soulfulness of Martin Page and Lou Gramm’s singing. I have given every song on FIND ME its own identity for Robbie to showcase his great vocal diversity, all arrangements are carefully produced to fit his voice. The sonic impact will knock the socks out of you for sure! There are some great musicians involved on this Cd, starting with the amazing solos from guitar wizard David Sivelind, the rhythm guitars of Daniel Palmqvist and the very tight and inventive bass playing from Jonny Trobro. The amount of time put into keyboards was really a lot and will instantly remind the listener of the greats like Boston and Foreigner. All done with real vintage keyboards to give the album the organic feel, that unfortunately so many albums lack of these days. I have never been this satisfied with the keyboards and synthesizer arrangements like on this album!” Release is planned for the summer 2012.

0 JEFF SCOTT SOTO’s Music Legacy Lives Again In “Live at Firefest 2008”

Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of JEFF SCOTT SOTO’s double live album “Live at Firefest 2008” on December 3rd 2010.

Firefest has become a pivotal event in the Melodic Rock season in Europe. Born from the ashes of the ‘Gods of AOR’ festival, Firefest started in 2004 and not only did they continue the tradition of Europe’s finest Melodic Rock/AOR festivals, but exceeded all previous expectations.

Not many bands have the chance to play on ‘that’ stage nowadays and when Bruce Mee and Kieran Dargan have realized the demand for particular artists to continuing rounding up annually. Jeff Scott Soto was no stranger to ‘that’ stage. He performed at the Gods festival in 2002 putting up an amazing show that was mirrored with a live CD/DVD. So when the call came to Jeff about the new and continued version of this proven festival, he wasted no time in answering “Of course!”.

But not all good things come easily… “Unfortunately the date clashed with my commitments touring with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra in the US for their annual Winter Tour” recalls Jeff. “This meant a week of 12 hour rehearsals in the US, leaving on a Friday to land in London on a Saturday morning, bee-line it up to Nottingham for 4 hours in traffic, meet with the band for 30 minutes, as they were wrapping up the ONLY rehearsal we had prior to the show (the last time we had played together was nearly a year prior!), straight to the venue and onstage within the next hour!”

But once onstage, the warmth of the crowd and the energy transmitted by the electricity of the event was such that Jeff and his band stormed through our 70 minute set like gangbusters! It was the first time the songs from the “Beautiful Mess” album were performed in Europe and the last show the original JSS band featuring Howie Simon on guitar, Dave Dzialak on drums and Gary Schutt on bass played together.

In JSS words: “Here it is in all its glory, a little extra something for you all to help me remember this wonderful night of music and memories”.

“Live at Firefest 2008”  tracklisting includes:

CD1: 21st Century; Colour My XTC (prelude); Soul Divine; Drowning; Our Song; DD Solo; Guitar Jam; Mountain; Eyes Of Love; Testify; Broken Man.

CD2: Hey; Crazy; Piano Medley (If This Is The End, Nobody Said It Was Easy, 4 U); Gin & Tonic Sky; I’ll Be Waiting; Funky Medley (Play That Funky Music, Jungle Boogie, The Roof Is On Fire, Brick House, Shake Your Booty, Kung Fu Fighting, Yo Baby Yo, Macho Man, Ice Ice Baby, Stayin’ Alive, Another One Bites The Dust, Walk This Way, My Love, My Friend)

The songs “21st Century” and “Eyes Of Love” can exclusively be listened in full in streaming on the Frontiers Web radio. Tune in at: www.frontiers.it/webradio

1 Jeff Scott Soto – One Night in Madrid (2010)

  • January 27, 2010

  • · Hard Rock Music

I have been a fan of Jeff Scott Soto since his early days as a singer with Yngwie Malmsteen. I have never had the luxury of seeing Soto perform live. His fan base in the United States is so small, I fear the new JSS CD, One Night in Madrid is as close as it will get for me.

If you are familiar with Soto’s solo work on his CD’s Lost in the Translation, Beautiful Mess, or music from his
previous band Talisman, you will feel right at home with this CD. Soto’s vocals are amazing as always, and the music is super tight.  Soto’s band sounds like they are having a good time while playing, and that shows in the music. This is obviously not soundboard quality with this being live, but it is far better than any bootleg you will hear.

Some of my favorites in this set are the songs, “Soul Divine”, “Drowning” “Frozen/Crazy (Seal)”.  I really got a kick out of hearing Soto do the song “Stand Up” from the Rockstar movie soundtrack. (Remember Steel Dragon?) If there was anything that I found disappointing with this live CD, it is that there are a ton of songs from Jeff’s career that he could have played, that is not in this two CD set.  How about a tune from the Malmsteen, Eyes or the Soul Sirkus days?  I would love to hear “Calling All Girls” or “Cheyenne” performed live.   There is so much great music from Soto’s career, there is no way he could pack it all in a ninety minute set.  The material that is here is very good though.

One Night in Madrid reiterates what I already knew.: Jeff Scott Soto is one of the best singers in rock today!  It is a shame that more folks in the U.S. haven’t figured this out yet. Casual fans of Jeff Scott Soto may want to invest in Soto’s solo CD’s before checking out this live disc.  I enjoyed this quite a bit, but I am familiar with most of the songs in this two CD set. If you are a die hard fan of Jeff Scott Soto, don’t miss out on this.

WET_-_Wet_artworkFans of Melodic Rock and AOR acts such as Journey, Giant, Whitesnake, and others will wet themselves after hearing the new project featuring Jeff Scott Soto, Lead Vocals,  Robert Sall, Guitars, and Erik Martensson, Guitars, Bass, & Keyboards, appropriately titled W.E.T.

“W.E.T” (Work of Art, Eclipse, Talisman) is an acronym for the bands which comprise this new act and if you are not familiar with the members previous work you should get ready for an album filled with big melodic hooks, fiery guitars, and melodies galore. Along with a little help from Magnus Henriksson, Guitars, and Robban Back, on Drums, W.E.T. have put together one of the best melodic rock records of the year.

“Invincible” is the perfect opener giving us a taste of what we can expect on this album right from the start with it grand keyboards, a driving intro from Martensson on guitar, and of course JSS’s vocals, who I think is one of the most underrated singers in the music business today. “One Love” was my first taste of W.E.T. and I was instantly hooked with it’s radio ready chorus, outstanding background vocals, and a great driving bass line that combined make you want to crank up the volume and sing along at the top of your lungs. Much like “Invincible” and “One Love”, “Brothers In Arms” is another radio friendly track custom made to light up the bics and cell phones throughout the stadiums.

Very seldom, am I impressed with ballads, but not only am I impressed with “Comes Down Like Rain” it is the best song on this album  and quite possibly one of the best songs of the year. JSS sings this song to absolute perfection and Magnus Henriksson plays one of the best solos I’ve heard this year. “Comes Down Like Rain” is one of those songs you just want to put on repeat and listen to it over and over non-stop. “Running From The Heartache”  is a mid tempo track in the vein of Giant and Foreigner, Erik Martensson continues to impress me with his keyboards which enhance this album instead of trying to overpower the album like a lot of keyboards tend to do.

Other stand-out tracks include “I’ll Be There”, “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is”, “My Everything” and “If I Fall”. If you like your rock a little on the heavier side W.E.T. may not be your cup of tea, but if you like songs filled with sing along choruses, background vocals, and some stellar guitar and keyboards, W.E.T. will definitely fit the bill. I can’t see fans of Journey, Giant, Hardline, or Foreigner not having this album in their collection. Hopefully this will not be the first and last W.E.T. album, as I am definitely looking forward to seeing how the band can progress after this debut.

W.E.T.Logo

Frontiers Records is excited to announce the release the highly anticipated, self-titled debut album from W.E.T. on November 6th in Europe and on November 24th in the USA as a special CD/DVD package.

Featuring the immense talents of singer/songwriter Jeff Scott Soto (Talisman); guitarist/songwriter Erik Martensson (Eclipse) and keyboardist Robert Sall (Work Of Art), this is the melodic hard rock album you have been waiting for! (W)ork of art (E)clipse (T)alisman was written and recorded over the last 12 months and features the best elements of the three bands the principle artists have been involved in. And the guys all feel the same way about this album:

Erik: “In the beginning it was just a project set up by Frontiers but somewhere along the process of making W.E.T.bandit, it evolved into something greater then the project we had started with. We had a fantastic flow in the song writing and when Jeff recorded his lead vocals it all fell into place.”

Jeff: “I’m very excited about the WET project. What a brilliant idea of Frontiers to put the three of us together. I think the album turned even better than we hoped for and I can’t wait to see the reactions from the melodic rock fans. I’m really proud of this record and I think a lot of people is gonna ‘wet’ there pants once they get to hear it!
I knew this was the kind of album a LOT of people wanted me to make so I am quite hopeful it will be amongst one of the biggest things I have done in my career thus far. I have never heard or felt such a buzz for something I am a part of and I couldn’t be more proud with my ‘brothers in arms’, Erik & Robert, for helping create what shall hopefully become a Classic masterpiece.”

And the future seems bright for the trio.

Jeff: “I believe if it does well enough, we would be silly not to take it on the road. Possibly start with a few select dates to get our feet ‘wet’ then see what time & schedules permit. The thing to remember here is we are of 3 separate & completely different careers that are all currently in motion but in my heart of hearts, I feel this is the beginning of something that will be around for a while, not just a one off!”

Erik: “I would love to go out and play live with this band and I would surely love to make a follow up album for it.”

Robert: “If the album does well enough and if our different schedules allow it, I would love to go and play live with WET. And I have pretty good feeling this is not the first and last record from W.E.T.!”

The word masterpiece is tossed around on various occasions, but in this instance there is no doubt what they guys have achieved.

First reaction on the album includes: “W.E.T. might just be the perfect balance of power and melody, emotion and attitude. A dream line-up that really delivers their very best. This is a stunner!” – Andrew McNeice (melodicrock.com)

The Self Titled debut W.E.T. album features the following tracks:
CD – Invincible, One Love, Brothers In Arms, Comes Down Like Rain, Running From The Heartache, I’ll Be There, Damage Is Done, Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is, One Day At A Time, Just Go, My Everything, If I Fall.
DVD – Video Clips for: One Love, Comes Down Like Rain and Brothers In Arms and a 15 minute EPK. Click on the image below to enjoy the “One Love” videoclip on Youtube and an album trailer.

Apr. 18 – Heineken Sala Arena – Madrid, Spain
Apr. 19 – [to be announced] – Barcelona, Spain

Jeff Scott Soto’s touring line-up includes:

Jeff Scott Soto – Vocals
Jorge Salan – Lead Guitar
Fernando Mainer (TAKO) – Bass
Edu Cominato (TEMPESTT) – Drums
BJ (TEMPESTT) – Guitar

Jorge Salan is the young-blood hotshot from Madrid, Spain whom Jeff met through his many tours through Spain. Jeff even contributed vocals on one track for Jorge’s 2007 solo album, “Chronicles Of An Evolution”, which is where Jeff first discovered this fresh new talent. Brought along on bass from Jorge’s solo band is Fernando Mainer, who has played with a popular Spanish band TAKO along with many others from his native land.

New drummer, Edu Cominato, hails from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Edu has toured as Jeff’s drummer throughout Brazil as well as with his own band, TEMPESTT, where they shared stages throughout Europe on a Jeff Scott Soto-introduced/guest tour for TEMPESTT back in 2008. A fifth member — a man simply named BJ, also from the band TEMPESTT — will serve as second guitarist/keyboardist for the new band.

In other news, JSS will shoot a new, full headline show for DVD in Madrid on April 18, with Jorge’s solo band as support for the show. Jorge, too, will be shooting a live DVD in which Jeff will guest on the number “No Salvation”, which he sang on “Chronicles…”. This will be Jeff’s first full live show to be released on DVD as the only other live DVD from the Gods show in 2002 was a limited setlist. The new show will consist primarily of Jeff Scott Soto solo material with the blend of expected numbers from Soto’s past.

Jeff says, “I am having a blast creating the new setlist as now I have four solo albums under my belt and familiar material for days to have fun with live. But I won’t forget the numbers that make everyone stand up and shout!”

Frontiers Records is more than pleased to announce the release of JSS latest release “Beautiful Mess” on February 20th in Europe.

jssbeautifulmess JSS is an Artist who has graced many stages, a hybrid redolent of Soul, Pop, Rock, Blues and R&B influenced by luminaries such as Queen, Prince and Sam Cooke and a man who has proved, across the years that he can deliver all these genres well.

For many years JSS has been known to the world as Jeff Scott Soto. In a career spanning more than twenty years, beginning as the vocalist for guitar virtuoso Yngwie Malmsteen, leading to frontman for many bands including: Talisman, Soul SirkUS, the legendary Journey and more recently Trans Siberian Orchestra. In 2002 he set out on the long, arduous road of a solo career with the acclaimed album “Prism” and has released two solo albums since then, “Lost In The Translation” and now “Beautiful Mess”.

He came to the notice of many in the industry when he provided the lead vocals for the main character/singer of “Steel Dragon” in the Mark Wahlberg motion picture “Rock Star”. With an audience that comes from Europe, Asia, South America and North America, his appeal is about to be widened even further with this new highly commercial release.

In “Beautiful Mess” JSS blends the influences he grew up loving into one “beautiful mess” indeed;jeffscottsoto from the rocking soul of “21st Century”, to the sultry “Gin & Tonic Sky” through to the funk of “Bring It Home” and the Beatle-esque “Kick It”, JSS leaves no stone unturned in this release, pleasing fans old & new alike. “Beautiful Mess”, which is co-written & produced by the acclaimed Swedish artist/producer/writer Paulo Mendonça, is a turning point for JSS who recently dubbed by many as the “new hardest working man in show business” and this new album will find him touring the globe once again in the spring 2009.

If you like the bite of Lenny Kravitz, the sultriness of Seal, the smoothness of Sam Cooke & the rawness of the nostalgic 70’s rock ‘n’ soul, all mixed with a contemporary touch of today’s best music, then you need to take a listen to “Beautiful Mess” by JSS.

“Beautiful Mess” European release will include the following tracks:

21st Century; Cry Me A River; Gin & Tonic Sky; Hey; Broken Man; Mountain; Our Song; Eye; Bring It Home; Testify; Wherever You Wanna Go; Kick It; Heart Starts Healing (Bonus Track); Take U Over With Me (Bonus Track). 21st Century and Gin & Tonic Sky (videos – iPod ready versions). In addition to this, a DVD will be added as a special bonus and will include the full quality videos for “21st Century”, “Gin And Tonic Sky”, “Hey”, a specially filmed piano version of  “Gin And Tonic Sky” and live footage recorded at the recent JSS exclusive appearance at the Firefest show in Notthingham UK, on October 25th 2008.

Radio airplay of the two singles “21st Century” and “Gin & Tonic Sky“ is set to start in early 2009 with a preview of the “21st Century” music video available at Hard Rock Hideout
now ! (below)

Frontiers Records and JSS would finally like to inform that a un-authorized bootleg version of the album has been circulating on the Internet and sold especially on eBay. Fans and distributors can easily spot the difference between the original version and the bootleg because of the different tracklisting. Frontiers and JSS do NOT support such release, are actively working to stop it and look forward to give the fans a PROPER product, which will also specially priced as regular 1CD set notwithstanding the addition of the bonus DVD.

JSS – ‘Beautiful Mess’ has hit the digital market ahead of schedule.
With the huge demand escalating since the availability of the free download ‘Testify’ and Jeff’s imminent exposure during the new TSO tour. Sewtoe Productions are proud to announce the advance launch of Jeff’s new solo album. The very nature and speed of today’s digital music download market has meant that ‘Beautiful Mess’ can come to fruition three weeks ahead of its proposed release! Why wait another month! JSS is ready, so let’s move it people!

JSS – Beautiful Mess

The 4th solo album from Jeff Scott Soto (who has sung for such bands as Journey & Talisman) but the 1st under the new moniker, JSS, this album is a departure from the classic rock sound Jeff has been known for.

Who is JSS?

He is an artiste who has graced many stages, a hybrid redolent of soul, pop, rock, blues and R&B influenced by luminaries such as Queen, Prince and Sam Cooke and a man who has proved, across the years that he can deliver all these genre well.

In ‘Beautiful Mess’, for which Jeff Scott Soto has become ‘JSS’ he blends the influences he grew up loving into one ‘beautiful mess’ indeed. From the rocking soul of “21st Century” to the sultry “Gin & Tonic Sky” to the greasy funk of “Bring It Home” to the Beatle-esque “Kick It”, JSS leaves no stone unturned in this release, pleasing fans old & new alike. ‘Beautiful Mess’, which is co-written & produced by the savvy Swedish artist/producer/writer Paulo Mendonça, is a turning point for JSS who recently dubbed by many as the ‘new hardest working man in show business’ & this new album will find him touring the globe once again through 2009.

Jeff’s promotions guy, Richard Mace has created another stunning and imaginative cover for Jeff Scott Soto’s new solo album. Incorporating the theme of global destruction and the decay of humanity, this cover exemplifies the paradox of the beautiful mess, that is Jeff’s own career. As enjoyable as it has been, he has indeed had his share of highs and lows and continues to pursue, with determination and relish, his own personal dream and ambition.

Beautiful Mess is due out in September 2008.

The Track Listing is as follows:

21st Century
Cry Me A River
Gin & Tonic Sky
Hey
Broken Man
Mountain
Our Song
Eye
Bring It Home
Testify
Whenever u Go
Kick It

0 Takara – Eternal Faith (1993)

In 1993, Takara released their debut album through the now defunct, Now and Then Records.

This release was largely not know in the U.S. as this disc was primarily released in Europe and Japan. I may not have found this disc myself, but saw that this was one of the earlier works by Jeff Scott Soto, and I was on a mission to find it.

Those of you not familiar with Soto’s work would be surprised at how many acts and bands he has been involved with over the years, including most recently, Journey. I have always been a fan of his vocals and he was the main draw for me to pick up Takara’s Eternal Faith.

On Eternal Faith, Soto works as both producer and singer, and he does a pretty good job in both roles. He wasn’t supposed to sing on this record, but Takara’s original singer flaked out in the studio and Soto took over.

Soto has a keen ear for great melodic rock, and Takara’s Eternal Faith is a fine example of this. This record is filled with ten upbeat keyboard laden tunes, that melodic rock fans will truly enjoy.

While Eternal Faith isn’t the best disc I have ever heard, fans of Jeff Scott Soto will certainly want to pick this up. The best tracks are Spotlight, Two Hearts Together, I Don’t Believe, and Fallen Angel.

For more information on Takara, check out the band’s website, Takara Rock’s. You can find this CD, at CD Baby.com, where you can also preview all ten tracks on the album. Check it out!
