1 JORN – Symphonic (2013)
Jorn Lande’s latest output Symphonic started as a spontaneous idea to hear how JORN songs sounded with a classical orchestra arrangement. Jorn Lande didn’t want this album to come across as a typical greatest hits album, so Symphonic features some deeper cuts from the JORN catalog. Sometimes spontaneous ideas are the best ones, as Symphonic shows just how powerful JORN’s metal music is. The orchestral arrangement on this album gives JORN’s songs a heavier feel than the original versions. I didn’t think the songs could be improved upon, but I stand corrected. I love this unique mix to JORN’s songs.
I liked the song choices Jorn made for Symphonic, and thought it was enhanced by the cover songs included in the track listing. There are two killer covers on this album, DIO’s “Rock and Roll Children” and Black Sabbath’s “The Mob Rules”. Both of these songs came out sounding cooler than ever.
Symphonic is a tremendous listen, and a true feast for the ears. Jorn Lande’s voice is the most powerful instrument on Symphonic, but his voice truly shines with this orchestral arrangement. I enjoyed Symphonic and I think you will too! Check it out!

1 JORN to release “Bring Heavy Rock To The Land” on Frontiers in June; Audio Sample Available
Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of a brand new JORN studio album : “Bring Heavy Rock To The Land” on June 1st in Europe and June 5th in North America.
Following a three year silence since the release of “Spirit Black”, JORN unleashes upon the world yet another original studio album “Bring Heavy Rock To The Land”: another slab of classic Hard Rock with Metal elements! “I think this album follows a similar JORN-tradition like those before, more Heavy Rock oriented than Metal” says Jorn “But as usual it’s not one musical expression all the way through the album, but a variety of musical landscapes within the categories of Rock and Metal”.
A winning formula should not change, so Jorn has again worked with Tommy Hansen at Jailhouse Studios in Denmark, who mixed the album, ensuring the right edge to the rich guitar and vocal sound that is now trademark to all JORN releases. The lineup sees the return of Jimmy Iversen on guitar who also appeared on “Spirit Black”. The pairing with Tore Moren works really well and gives Jorn’s sound the usual depth and solidity.
As usual, in addition to the original material, Jorn offers some interesting covers. This time Masterplan’s “Time to Be King” and Christopher Cross’ “Ride Like The Wind” are the ones to get the Jorn treatment. “When we wrote “Time To Be King” I heard a different and more rock oriented arrangement in my mind” tells Jorn, “so after the Masterplan album was released I couldn’t stop thinking about how it would sound if it was recorded with this other arrangement. I don’t know which one’s better, I have ended up liking both versions. As to Christopher Cross, I have always loved “West Coast” oriented music and bands like 10cc, Pages, Santana, Little River Band, Eagles and so on. So I thought “Ride Like The Wind” would be a good song to do Jorn style. Saxon also released a version of this song in the 80’s, and the arrangement we made ended up beeing a mix between the original version and Saxon’s. It’s also a fun song to sing and play”.
Jorn Lande’s strong and diverse voice and solid songwriting skills have now become legendary in the Hard Rock world. In a career spanning over close to 40 album releases, as frontman for Ark and Masterplan, in addition to featuring on spectacular projects such as Nostradamus The Rock Opera, Beyond Twilight “The Devil’s Hall of Fame”, Tobias Sammet’s “Avantasia” and Ayreon.
“If you buy a Jorn album today, you know what you will get” states Jorn Lande. You are guaranteed to get your adrenaline going with the riveting sound that has solid roots in classic hard rock/heavy metal music, such as Dio, Black Sabbath, Rainbow and Whitesnake.
“Bring Heavy Rock To The Land” will include the following songs:
My Road; Bring Heavy Rock To The Land; A Thousand Cuts; Ride Like The Wind; Chains Around You; The World I See; Time To Be King; Ride To The Guns; Black Morning; I Came To Rock; Live And Let Fly (bonus track).
The title track “Bring Heavy Rock To The Land” will be released as a single worldwide on May 14th and can be exclusively listened to in streaming on the Frontiers Records webradio http://www.frontiers.it/webradio – A videoclip for the song is in the works and will be directed by Thomas Tjäder (Pretty Maids, In Flames). According to Jorn: “The title track has really a strong Jorn trademark. It was a natural choice for a title track, I felt the same about “Lonely Are The Brave” back in 2008. Sometimes one song’s got the magic and you just know it. “Bring Heavy Rock To The Land” is such a song and regardless of how the whole album is evaluated by critics, I feel that this song will live on and become an essential Jorn classic !”
Jorn will appear live in selected shows in Europe during the summer.

2 TRILLIUM “Alloy” – the new Metallic statement from Amanda Somerville; New CD Features Jorn Lande; Audio Samples Available!
Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of “Alloy”, the anticipated debut album from TRILLIUM the new Metal Project masterminded by American Singer Songwriter Amanda Somerville on November 4th in Europe and November 1st in North America.
“Alloy” is an album that’s charged with emotion and exploration and a very personal statement from Amanda and certainly the listener can enjoy very different musical atmospheres on the album “Since I’m an eclectic and diverse person and musician, that certainly comes out in this album” says Amanda. “I think that the diversity is what is going to set this album apart from other stuff that’s out there right now. It’s got big choruses and epic symphonic hits, guitar solos you could imagine being played on a mountain top with an aerial camera view, but it’s also got a lot of soul added to the raise-your-fists-in-the-air-and-make-a-mean-face vibe”.
Musically TRILLIUM melts Rock and Metal in a new, interesting and different way from anything Amanda has worked on so far. “Alloy” is also graced with the talents of several musicians with whom Amanda had the honor of working in the past. Sander Gommans (ex AFTER FOREVER, HDK) and Sascha Paeth (KAMELOT, AVANTASIA, EPICA, AFTER FOREVER etc) were the main songwriters together with the American singer on this album. They have brought a lot to the project and have certainly allowed the sound to be a lot richer and stronger.
“Sander is all around an awesome songwriter and guitar player, and he’s especially good at coming up with riffs and movements of a song, while Sascha is a fantastic producer who can play any instrument there is – and play the hell out of it – and his sense of songwriting is really strong!” tells Amanda.
Other contributing musicians include Miro Rodenberg who did all of the orchestral and keyboard arrangements, Robert Hunecke on drums, Olaf Reitmeier on acoustic guitar, Simon Oberender on keyboards (and mastering). But more surprises are on this record: “Working with Mat Sinner on KISKE-SOMERVILLE established a solid professional relationship and I also found a good friend in him” says Amanda. “We co-wrote “Love Is An Illusion” together for this album and it was a pleasure working with him once again!”
And last, but in no way least, Jorn Lande has lent his epic voice to the song “Scream It.” Ms. Somerville tells the story: “I actually wrote that song with Jorn in mind not for his status in the scene, but because I absolutely love his voice, he’s a wonderful friend of mine through working together on Avantasia and he was the perfect “actor” to play the character in the song. And he nailed it!”
With touring plans in Europe in the first quarter of 2012 and a rousing excitement surrounding Trillium, you can bet the world is finally ready to enjoy the talents of one of the most interesting, creative and gifted singers and songwriters of today’s entire Rock scene.
“Alloy” will be exclusively released in a lavish digipak cd edition and will include the following songs:
Machine Gun; Coward; Purge; Utter Descension; Bow To the Ego; Mistaken; Scream It; Justifiable Casualty; Path of Least Resistance; Into The Dissonance; Slow It Down; Love Is An Illusion*.
*bonus track
While a videoclip for the song “Coward” is in the works, you can now enjoy a video presentation of the album following this link:www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7KQITdzezc

0 New Video – Allen/Lande – Judgement Day
Check out the new video clip, “Judgement Day” from Jorn Lande & Russell Allen. “Judgement Day” is on the new Allen/Lande CD, The Showdown due November 5th. This video also features Primal Fear’s Magnus Karlsson on guitar.
0 Allen/Lande’s The Showdown Coming November 6th!! Audio Samples Available!
Frontiers Records is excited to announce the release of the third chapter of ALLEN / LANDE project entitled “The Showdown” on November 5th 2010.
ALLEN / LANDE represents the finest expression of Melodic Metal nowadays. With two world renowned singers, Jorn Lande (of Jorn and Masterplan) and Russell Allen (of Symphony X) sharing lead vocals, this project has become a staple among the fans of Hard Rock and Melodic Heavy Metal music. The first chapter of Jorn Lande and Russell Allen’s collaboration, “The Battle” was unleashed in September 2005 with unanimous acclaim from fans and critics alike. Many websites and magazines named it “Record of the Year”. Its success made it one of the most popular releases ever in Melodic Heavy Metal, thanks to beautiful, sweeping piano and keyboards, heavy guitar riffs, virtuoso guitar solos, hooky choruses and the vocal talents of two of the finest Heavy Metal vocalists around.
In spring 2007, the second chapter entitled “The Revenge” was released and met again with an amazing reaction from press and fans. Heavier and with a tighter production, thanks to the involvement of Dennis Ward (PINK CREAM 69, ANGRA, PLACE VENDOME) at the mix, the album excited the fans who loved the first chapter.
Now it is the turn of “The Showdown”, the anticipated third album of the studio project. “With two of the best singers in the business it’s easy to get inspiration to write good music” says the mastermind of the project, Swedish guitar player, songwriter and producer Magnus Karlsson, who adds “When it was decided that Russell and Jorn were going to sing on the first album I knew that if I could just write great songs and get the right mix it would have a very good chance to be a success”. Musically “The Showdown” sounds like “A mix of both previous releases with “The Battle” being more Melodic and “The Revenge” which was more in the Hard Rock direction”, according to Karlsson, who concludes “I’m more satisfied than ever with the songs and performances, but also because the mix by Achim Kohler (Primal Fear) is by far the best I ever had on any album!”
“The Showdown” cover art was designed once again by Rodney Matthews (Asia, Magnum, Diamond Head etc.) and includes the following tracks: The Showdown; Judgement Day; Never Again; Turn All Into Gold; Bloodlines; Copernicus; We Will Rise Again; The Guardian; Maya; The Artist; Eternity; Alias (bonus track).
The songs “Judgement Day” and “The Showdown” can exclusively be listened in full in streaming on the Frontiers Web radio from September 21st.

0 New Video – Masterplan – Time To Be King
I have been a Jorn Lande fan pretty much from the first time I have heard him sing. To see Jorn Lande perform live is definitely on this metalhead’s bucket list. Masterplan may have come as close to metal perfection as they are ever going to get by having Jorn Lande return to the band. While the band is extremely talented in its own right, Jorn Lande’s powerhouse vocals really make Masterplan one of the better new metal acts of the last decade. Check out their killer new video, “Time To Be King” below.
7 JORN – Dio (2010)
When I first posted the press release about JORN’s new CD Dio, my first thought was, why on earth is JORN trying to cash in on Ronnie James Dio’s death. I thought it was out of character for him, and wondered what was up with that. Then shortly thereafter a video was released, and I knew immediately that this CD was in the works long before Ronnie’s death. Jorn Lande quickly released his own statement and all was well. New visitor’s to Hard Rock Hideout might not be familiar with the powerhouse vocalist Jorn Lande, and if you aren’t, you really ought to take a chance and explore some of JORN’s previous releases. He is a criminally under rated, monster talent that has not gotten the exposure that he has deserved.
I have always described Lande’s voice as a combination of Ronnie James Dio, and David Coverdale. I found it very fitting that he did a tribute to the singer that influenced him so greatly. Very few people could cover the mighty voice of Ronnie James Dio, and Jorn Lande does it with a lot of passion and dignity on this new CD Dio.
The first time I heard “Song For Ronnie James” it put a tear in my eye. It really hit home for me that Dio has passed on. It is a very fitting tribute to RJD. I thought it was cool that the band picked some of the lesser known tunes from Dio and included them here. “Invisible” is a song off of the ultimate DIO album, Holy Diver. Quite honestly, I always thought this song got lost behind the monster tracks “Rainbow in the Dark” and “Stand Up and Shout”. JORN’s version of this song is totally kick ass. “Shame on the Night” is another song from Holy Diver. JORN’s version could easily be released as a single in 2010.
I honestly believe Tore Moren could give Vivian Campbell a run for his money on “Stand Up and Shout” and “Don’t Talk to Strangers”. His guitar work is flawless on these songs. I actually got goose bumps off of “Don’t Talk To Strangers”. What an awesome cover!
“Lord of the Last Day” had me scrambling to find my Magica CD from DIO. I didn’t remember this song being THIS good. The original is great, as is this version.
JORN didn’t just cover the Dream Evil classic “Night People”, they turned the tempo up a notch, and possibly made it even heavier, and added some new guitar licks while doing so. Do I dare say this is better than the original?
JORN ‘s cover of “Lonely is the Word/Letters From Earth” was originally on the JORN cover CD, Unlocking the Past. You get two killer Black Sabbath tunes in one on this version. I loved this first time I heard it, and I still do.
Overall, JORN’s Dio is an incredible collection of covers that pays respect to the legend that is Ronnie James Dio. In my opinion, “Song for Ronnie James” is worth the price of admission by itself, but the cover versions on this album are equally fantastic. If you are a fan of Ronnie James Dio, you need to get this!

1 Masterplan – Time To Be King (2010)
Masterplan is back with their fourth full length effort Time to Be King. On this new release, Masterplan’s original singer Jorn Lande returns to the band. Quite honestly, I couldn’t have been more excited when I found out that Jorn Lande was returning to Masterplan. I did enjoy their MKII CD with Mike DiMeo on vocals, however Jorn Lande has been one of my favorite singers for a long time. The Masterplan releases with Jorn Lande on vocals are great, and I was hoping for more of the same.
I recall one of the reasons why Jorn Lande left Masterplan in the first place is, he wanted to make a more melodic record the next time around, while Roland Grapow wanted to go in a heavier direction like their debut. With Time To Be King, Masterplan both succeeds in being heavy, and melodic.Time To Be King starts off on the right note with a high-speed rocker “Fiddle of Time”. This song is pure power metal perfection. If there were any doubts that Masterplan would not return to form, “Fiddle of Time” threw that notion out of the window. In fact, the first four songs on Time To Be King are amongst the best that Masterplan has ever recorded. They are that good!
On the song, “The Dark Road” there are moments where Jorn Lande sounds exactly like David Coverdale. I did a double take the first time I listened to this song. This is a mid tempo number that ought to be getting airplay everywhere. This is an awesome tune.
Masterplan sounds better than ever on Time To Be King. Roland Grapow’s guitar work is excellent, and the rhythm section of Mike Terrana and Jan S. Eckert is as good as you will hear in any power metal band. Make no mistake about it, Jorn Lande’s voice is the most powerful instrument in Masterplan, and Jorn is singing at the top of his game. I find myself hitting repeat on this CD often, and the songs that I didn’t immediately gravitate to have grown on me quite a bit. I don’t believe Time To Be King is as strong as Masterplan’s debut, but it is a very solid album, and a must own disc for all Masterplan and Jorn Lande fans.

1 High Voltage Festival: Heaven And Hell To Stage Dio Tribute
Classic Rock Magazine is reporting that the surviving members of Heaven And Hell will play Classic Rock’s High Voltage festival with special guest vocalists, as a tribute to their late front man Ronnie James Dio.
On May 16, Dio passed away and the world mourned the loss of the greatest voice of heavy metal.
Heaven And Hell were set to be on the road in Europe this summer when news came through that despite the amazing progress he was making Ronnie wouldn’t be well enough to tour and those shows were cancelled.
But now, remaining members Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Vinny Appice are set to play a one-off show to celebrate Dio’s life and work at Classic Rock’s High Voltage festival.
The band will be completed by Glenn Hughes and Jorn Lande, who will both contribute vocals.
Former Deep Purple/Black Sabbath star Glenn Hughes was a close friend of Ronnie’s for many years and performed a musical tribute at Ronnie’s funeral service in Los Angeles.
Norwegian Jorn Lande is best known in the UK as the vocalist for power-metal band Masterplan; he has also released many solo albums including a tribute to Ronnie.
Heaven And Hell bassist Geezer Butler says:
“It’s going to be a very emotional occasion. Ronnie loved his fans like no one else I know – and they loved him. It will be a privilege doing a gig in honour of his memory, and to help towards his charity. Above all, I hope it encourages people to have regular check-ups for this disease. Early detection is vital, and greatly improves the chance of a cure. I know everyone has heard that a million times before, but seeing one of your best friends die because we all think we’re immune from this disease, really brings it home. Do it for yourself, your family, your friends. Ronnie would be proud of you.”
Guitarist Tony Iommi adds:
“Ronnie’s passing has left a huge hole, we hadn’t anywhere near finished what we set out to do as a band together. He was so looking forward to the European tour and we hope this appearance will go some way to fulfilling that.”
There follows details of the Ronnie James Dio ‘Stand Up And Shout’ Cancer Fund Programme:
* The fund is committed to the early detection and prevention of cancer through facilitating access to medical screening and medical educational programmes.
* The fund supports programs designed to integrate medical knowledge into local communities such as cancer screening programs, education on nutrition in cancer prevention, exercise and overall wellness.
* The goal of the fund is to reduce the risk of developing life threatening cancers by offering access to preventative medical services.
* Furthering the commitment for patients to access to quality medical care related to cancer, the fund seeks to assist families burdened by the cost of caring for loved ones with cancer.

4 Message From Jorn Lande

It means a lot to me that you have embraced this song as something coming from the heart, and I’m truly grateful.
In just a few days more than 100.000 people have viewed the video on the internet, and the number is still rising…
Many people are too busy trying to reinvent the wheel, forgetting the talent, quality and originality of the people that paved the way, like Ronnie James Dio.
My intentions for writing ”Song for Ronnie James” was to bow down and pay respect to one of the greatest, most influential and unique artists the world has ever known.
When Ronnie passed away so sudden, I wasn’t sure whether or not the release of the song should be postponed for a while, but we decided to proceed with the release of the song as planned.
“Song for Ronnie James” was written before Ronnie got sick last year, and it makes me sad to know that he never got to hear it.
Without Ronnie’s presence, I would not have become the artist I am today.
It’s hard holding back the tears when reading all your wonderful comments, and once again I thank all of you for your support and recognition.
Ronnie James Dio lost his battle against cancer, but we must continue to fight this disease. Medical researchers are doing progress every day, and they need our help.
You can help World Cancer Research Fund International by following the link below.
I urge you all to contribute in any way you can, your help will make a difference.
Sincerley yours,
Jorn

8 Allen Lande III Coming in 2009!
Swedish axeman Magnus Karlsson has recently posted this letter on his website:
“I thought it was time for a little update. We have two more shows with Primal Fear next weekend before we start the recording of our new album. “Monsters of Mora” in Sweden and at Sounddock 14 in Switzerland. The tour with Primal fear has been a blast! I can’t imagine a better and more fun band to be in. I really enjoyed meeting all great bands and also that I got the chance to meet some of you guys to have a chat and a drink or two. We are almost done with the song writing for the Primal fear album and I will go to Germany to record my stuff in December. The songs came out fantastic and I’m very excited to be a part of this album. Expect a release in May 2009. Check out www.primalfear.de for more updates about the recording.
I will also start writing on Allen/Lande III and hopefully I will have it done in time for a release next year.
Thanks everyone for your kind messages and emails. I read them all and try to answer as often as I can but sometimes there’s not time enough. I’m really sorry for that but if I would spend more time on myspace than I already do there wouldn’t be any more time for guitar shredding.
Well, I hope you all are enjoying life …and if you don’t , just put on Bob Catley’s Immortal and everything will feel better!”
3 Jorn Lande to Tour With Avantasia
EDGUY singer Tobias Sammet has issued the following update on his AVANTASIA solo project:
“I’d like to take the opportunity to thank you for your great support. ‘The Scarecrow’ is an album that means a lot to me and it was quite a commercial risk to just follow my heart instead of doing exactly what people expected. But if I take a look at the chart positions and sales — it went into the album charts in 16 countries, hitting the Top10 in four countries — it seems like you appreciate my honesty! Thank you!
Now preparing for the festival summer with AVANTASIA seems so surreal. AVANTASIA has never been on stage before and all of the sudden we are headlining the biggest festivals in the world, just been confirmed for the Sziget festival in Hungary on the 13th of August, playing amongst legendary bands such as R.E.M., DIE ÄRZTE, IRON MAIDEN and the SEX PISTOLS. Amazing!
“The AVANTASIA line up will be Jorn Lande (ex-MASTERPLAN), André Matos (ex-ANGRA), Amanda Somerville, Olli Hartmann, Bob Catley (MAGNUM — not all shows), Sascha Paeth, Miro, Robert Hunecke, Claudy Yang and Frank Lindenthal who is gonna replace Eric Singer who’ll be playing with KISS. Despite all rumors Michael Kiske will not be there, as he didn’t wanna do it and I respect that! We’ll put on a huge epic show anyway. Nobody has done something like that before and I swear, nobody will ever forget the event, neither you nor us!!!”

2 New Video – Avantasia – Lost In Space
Tobias Sammet is back on track with AVANTASIA! After five years of Silence, the EDGUY mastermind decided to reanimate his very own project AVANTASIA and record a follow up to the highly appraised Metal Opera, that Tobi released in 2001 (Part 1) and 2002 (Part 2). For many people, this Metal Opera was the inofficial but worthy successor to Helloweens “Keeper Of The Seven Keys” Pt. 1 and Pt. 2.
His new project, the album “The Scarecrow” is maybe the most ambitious that Tobi ever touched. Just read the list of participants and your knees will tremble: Eric Singer from KISS on drums and vocals, Guest Vocals by Amanda Somverville, Jorn Lande, Alice Cooper, Michael Kiske, Bob Catley and Guest Guitar parts by Rudolf Schenker. A legendary combination!
As an appetizer, two EPs are on their way, before the album will crush the metal world in early 2008. “Lost In Space” is the title track of both EPs, but otherwise the content is completely different and exclusive. Except for one song and title track, none of them will appear on the “The Scarecrow”! Value for money – for sure!
“Lost In Space” is without doubt among the catchiest tunes, that you will get to hear in 2007! A good time rock´n´roll song with a chorus as huge as two continets. Impressive – after the first spin, you will never ever get this song out of your head. And thats good!
With this new era of AVANTASIA, Tobi offers everything from Hard Rock, Stadium Rock, Rock´n´Roll, New Rock to Melodic metal and even Speed Metal – stuff to dream too, stuff to bang your head too.
AVANTASIA will prevail! No doubt about it.
1 Introducing Saint Deamon
Frontiers Records is excited to announce the signing of the next Melodic Metal sensation from Sweden SAINT DEAMON,In Shadows Lost From The Brave” on January 25th 2008. for the release of their debut album “
This Swedish/Norwegian band, named after a fictive ghost rider called S. Deamon, was formed in 2006 by drummer Ronny Milianowicz after a 7 year long successful era with Swedish/German melodic metal band Dionysus.
He rejoined his forces with Dionysus bass player Nobby Noberg, which Ronny describe as “The best bass player in the business”, along with the exceptional guitar virtuoso Toya Johansson, which Ronny knew back from their studying together at the University Of Music, in Örebro Sweden.
The band scanned the whole internet to find a singer that would do their magnificent music justice and in the spring of 2008, they finally found the ultra talented voice of gold, Norwegian Jan Thore Grefstad, most known for his impressive singing in Norwegian power metallers Highland Glory and for being the singer in TNT guitarist Ronnie Le Tekro’s second band Wild Willy’s Gang, a position he took over after Jorn Lande.
The Saint Deamon line up was then complete and started to work on the debut album, under the guidance of the high acclaimed monster producer Jens Bogren, best known for his excellent work with Symphony X, Hammerfall, Opeth, Katatonia and Dionysus. The musical idea of Saint Deamon is to mix four very talented musicians dream and ideas and come up with a unique form of music that varies from apocalyptic riffing and shredding to visions of historical musical landscapes, from Gregorian hymns to the sophisticated aggression of the SAINT DEAMON stylish trademark of metal.
For those who haven’t heard about SAINT DEAMON and their members, think again, this band has an armada of song writing credits.
Ronny Milianowicz has been co-writing metal anthem singles like “Seven Seals”, “Fighting The Darkness” with Primal Fear, “Red Light” with Cans as well as some classic hymns for Dionysus; Toya have been co-writing immortal songs for Sinner and Ride The Sky and in 2006 together with Joacim Cans (Hammerfall), Uli Kusch (Ride The Sky, Masterplan, Helloween) and Ronny, co-wrote the Football World Cup Metal Hymn “Glorious” where some of the world’s leading metal singers such as Ralf Sheepers (Primal Fear), Tobias Sammet (Edguy), Edu Falaschi (Angra), Timo Kotipelto (Stratovarius) joined forces and blew of the roof entering on position # 7 in the Swedish charts: the highest position for any of the members ever in Sweden!
Final tracklisting of “In Shadows Lost From The Brave” will be:
The Exodus (Intro); My Judas; In Shadows Lost From The Brave; My Heart; The Burden; No Mans Land; Ride Forever; Black Symphony; Deamons; The Brave Never Bleeds; My Sorrow; Run For Your Life.

Prepare to sail the seven seas with SAINT DEAMON and his crew into the shadowland!
5 JORN – Unlocking the Past (Release Year – 2007)
Typically, I do not like cover albums at all. When I first read that Jorn Lande was releasing an album full of covers, my initial reaction was, “Oh Hell, here we go again.” One look at the material that Jorn is covering on Unlocking the Past, and it has to whet the appetite of any fan of late 70’s classic Rock.
It took about 30 seconds of the MSG track On and On for me to know that this was going to be one killer disc. This track is easily as good, if not better than the original.
Two of the tracks here (Burn and The Day the Earth Caught Fire) were carried over from Jorn’s debut solo disc, Starfire. Both of those tracks were awesome the first time I heard them so their inclusion here is great, especially for those that do not already own the Starfire disc.
For those of you that still think Lande doesn’t sound like David Coverdale. Take one listen to the track Fool For your Loving. Jorn stays true to the original song, and sounds as good as Coverdale ever has.
Cold Sweat is one hell of a cool cover. Metalhead’s can rejoice that this track, while true to its original, is even heavier than than the Thin Lizzy version.
After the excellent double shot Lonely is the Word / Letters from Earth, Jorn Lande gets my vote if Black Sabbath decide to look for another new singer.
Feel Like Making Love is a nice cover with a solid vocal by Jorn.
Kill the King is damn near jaw dropping. This is great stuff, even for a cover!
Perfect Strangers is one of my favorite Deep Purple tracks, so it was important to me that this song if any was done properly. Not only was this well done, Jorn knocked this one out of the park with his spot on vocals!
I must admit that I wasn’t familar with the KISS song, Naked City. This is such a different sounding track, it almost didn’t fit in with all of the hard rock classics above, but Jorn is such an amazing vocalist, he made it work here.
Unlocking the Past is undoubtedly one of the best cover albums you will ever hear. This well produced disc handles the classic rock tracks with care, all featuring the superb vocals by Jorn Lande that we have all come to love. This is one of the best discs released in 2007 so far! You have to get this!
Enjoy the track Cold Sweat below!

3 JORN – Out to Every Nation (Release Year – 2004)
Day 7 of the 10 Days of Jorn, brings us to the third solo disc by Jorn Lande, Out to Every Nation.
This disc features a new lineup of musicians includingJorn Viggo Lofstad (Pagan’s Mind) on Guitar, Magnus Rosen (Hammerfall) on Bass and Stian Kristoffersen (Pagan’s Mind) on Drums.
Out to Every Nation is not my favorite disc in my Jorn Lande collection. After the stellar release Worldchanger, this disc did not live up to my expectations. I kept looking for a track that jumped out at me like Christine or Sunset Station, and it just never materialized.
With that being said, this is still an above average disc, and an above average disc from Jorn is usually ten times better than anything else out there.
There are a few noteworthy moments on Out to Every Nation worth mentioning.
Young Forever is a scorching hot track to start this disc off with. The title track Out to Every Nation is another cool song in the vein of Whitensnake. Something Real features some excellent guitar work by Jorn Viggo.
Living With Wolves reminds me of a cross between DIO and Dream Theater which is very cool. The Jorn Viggo guitar solo on Vision Eyes is superb.
The Whitesnakish Rock Spirit and the awesome guitars on Through Day and Night are growing on me each time I hear them.
The Japanese bonus track Big is awesome! This track sounds like it was a left over from Worldchanger.
This is the type of disc that needs to grown on you with a few listens. It gets progressively better with each spin. Jorn Lande sounds great, as does the band backing him up. This is a disc that may get over looked over time, but there is enough decent material on Out to Every Nation making this a disc worth picking up. I recommend the Japanese version that comes with the bonus track and the video below!
Check out the video below for Living With Wolves!

4 JORN – Starfire (Release Year 2000)
Day 2 of the 10 days of Jorn introduces the debut of Jorn Lande as a solo artist.
With ten songs, five of which are cover songs, one might think Jorn has no song writing skills, or doesn’t have the talent to back up a solo career.
I would have to say wrong on both counts. Most of the covers songs on this discs, are not well known tracks by the average person. After hearing Jorn rearrange these tracks, one will forget that they are cover tunes very quickly. I bet many people will break out their discs by the original artists to discover Jorn’s versions far superior.
Starfire is a brilliantly produced CD, with a good mix of Metal and AOR tracks, all featuring the powerful vocals of Jorn.
How do the songs stack up? Fantastic. Jorn enlisted the help of some amazing, all-star caliber musicians on this disc. You can tell by the quality of each track, that he was trying to put out an excellent disc for his fans.
The title track, Starfire starts this disc off with pure AOR goodness. This track is melodic, yet it exudes such power. There are not enough tracks that come out today that sounds this good.
Edge of the Blade is a cover of the Journey track from the 1983 disc Frontiers. This song features the very Neal Schon like guitar work of Millenium’s Ralph Santolla. I think Jorn’s vocal is definite improvement over Steve Perry on this track.
Whether you remember, the Foreigner track Break it Up from the 1981 disc 4, you will recognize the music styling almost immediately. This is a very good cover by Jorn Lande featuring Millenium’s Shane French on guitar. This group has the Foreigner down to a science. (Now If Jorn would only sing, Dirty White Boy, that would be something extemely cool to hear.)
I did not realize The Day the Earth Caught Fire was a cover by City Boy. That band may have been before my time, but nonetheless I found this track very enjoyable. This is another pure AOR track featuring the flying fret work of TNT’s Ronni Lé Tekrø
Ark band mate Tore Ostby andJorn absolutely smoke on the Deep Purple cover Burn. This is one hell of a cover, that sounds as good, if not better than the original. You will hear this track again on a new cover album coming out in 2007. (Hint, Hint)
I had a hard time getting into End Come Easy, but I have listened to this multiple times and it has grown on me somewhat. This track has an experimental Led Zeppelin orAerosmith kind of feel to it. I haven’t been able to put my finger on it exactly. It has a Middle Eastern style about it.
The Jefferson Starship track, Just the Same from the 1979 release Freedom at Point Zero is well covered by Jorn and his all-star group featuringTore Ostby (Ark) on guitar, and TNT band members Jon Macaluso on drums and Dag Stokke on keyboards. This track features an awesome bass groove, and has melodic keyboards that are empowered by Jorn’s commanding vocals.
If Zakk Wylde were to play with Jorn Lande, it would sound just like Abyss of Evil. After the other AOR tracks on Starfire, Abyss of Evil kicks you in the head with its excellent 80’s style hard rock heaviness. Abyss of Evil is my favorite track on Starfire, and luckily this track will also show up on a new Jorn disc in 2007.
After the heaviness of the previous track, Forever Yoursalmost seems out of place. This is an acoustic driven number on which Jorn sounds a lot like Jeff Scott Soto. It is a beautiful song, but it seems out of place sandwiched between Abyss of Evil and the monster closing track Gate of Tears.
Jorn breaks out his best Ronnie James Dio voice for Gate of Tears. This monster of a track sounds like it could have been on a Dio era Black Sabbath disc. This is an awesome heavy track, and killer one to close out Starfire. I don’t find it surprising at all that this will be the 3rd track from Starfire to show up on The Gathering!
Bottomline, Starfire is an awesome disc, with a good mixtures of AOR, metal and Hard Rock. This disc gives you a good taste of the amazing talent of Jorn, and should be in everyone’s music collection!

8 Jorn – The Duke (Release Year – 2006)
If you want to hear an amazing CD, with awesome vocals, and melodic but heavy metal to match. Run, don’t walk to pick up the Jorn Lande release, The Duke.
For several reasons, the Norwegian Jorn Lande is not very well known in the United States. Lack of promotion, and no radio airplay are a few problems Jorn faces in the U.S. It is really too bad, because most people are missing out on one of the top singers in Metal today.
For those of you who have not been exposed to Jorn Lande, He has a voice that falls somewhere between Ronnie James Dio and David Coverdale. If you know how amazing those two singers are, you will know what to expect from Jorn.
Musically and lyrically, the Duke is a superb effort from start to finish! This is melodic metal in its finest form. The guitar tandem of Tore Moren and Jørn Viggo Lofstad do an amazing job on this disc.
Take one listen to the heavy Blacksong which sounds like Lynch era Dokken and you will be hooked.
Another stand out song is Stormcrow, which sounds like a heavy Whitesnake track. The guitars on this song blow me away every time. Awesome!
Duke of Love could have easily been on the Whitesnake, Slide it In Album.
Jorn Lande truly shines on the low to mid tempo Burning Chains. You have to hear it, to appreciate it.
The cover of Thin Lizzy’s Are You Ready may be the best cover song I have heard in 2006. It is very well done here.
The final song, Starfire, is a remake of the same track from his debut disc and sounds even better than the original.
The Duke is certainly one of the top Metal discs of 2006, and a favorite of mine.
If you would like to hear some of the tracks off the Duke, You can listen to a few songs off of this disc at:Jorn Lande’s Website
