Rev Theory have recently released another studio webisode from their Justice recording sessions. In the clip the band takes you behind the scenes of the making of the song “Loaded Gun,” which is featured on the band’s new album Justice (available everywhere now).Vocalist Rich Luzzi dishes on the meaning behind the song, “Loaded Gun is a pretty cool song because most times songs talk about wanting to go to the party. Loaded Gun is talking about getting away from the party.”

0 Rev Theory – Justice (2011)
Rev Theory is back with their third effort Justice. After the success of their last album, Light it Up, I expected the band to travel down that same dreaded path that Saving Abel, and Theory of a Deadman moved on to trying to sound like the next Nickelback. With producer Terry Date (who has also produced records for Soundgarden, Pantera, and Metal Church), Rev Theory attempted to get a more live feel with Justice, and to my ears they have succeeded. While Justice lacks the big stadium style anthems of Light it Up, I honestly believe the music is better on Justice.
While Justice does have a couple of Nickelback like moments, there are also some heavy tunes that remind me of Stone Temple Pilots. The music on the opening cut, “Dead In A Grave” is the first song that has that STP grungy sound to it. The song has plenty of attitude, and shows quickly that Rev Theory is here to rock.
I have to be honest. I am not very fond of the title track “Justice” that was released as the first single from the album. I am sure the song has what it takes to get plenty of airplay on the Clear Channel rock stations out there, but this is my least favorite song on Justice.
To my ears, “Hangman” is much catchier than “Justice” and ought to be under consideration for Rev Theory’s next single. This song is MUCH better.
“Fire” and “Say Goodbye” are both slower numbers that could easily be hits for Rev Theory. While both have that Nickelback like vibe, they also pretty good. I have always like Rich Luzzi’s voice, and he is in fine form on both songs.
I prefer the heavier numbers on Justice, and “Loaded Gun”, ‘”Guilty By Design” and “Wicked Wonderland are easily the best ones on the CD.
Overall, I found myself missing the big hits of Light it Up, but I have enjoyed the music on Justice. To my ears Justice is more of a grower type of record. It might not bite you the first time around, but the songs get better with repeated listens. Check it out!

To Bobby Ingram, brain, guitarist and main songwriter of American Southern rock act MOLLY HATCHET, the term ‘Justice’ is more than just a word. To him, this basic concept expresses his whole philosophy of life. Justice, fairness, trust between friends, family members, parents and their children: what could be more important? MOLLY HATCHET live this maxim, to them this solemn promise applies not only within the international Southern Rock community, but also to their music and its impact on their fans. Yet Ingram saves himself any kind of self-assessment, leaving the verdict on MOLLY HATCHET’S latest offering, Justice, to his audience. “Have we evolved as a band? Have we become better? Stronger? These are questions that everybody should answer for themselves when they have listened to our new album. I’m sure that the clarification of this matter will turn out in our favor.”
Ingram’s confidence, his joy and his pride in the new material on Justice are well warranted. A dozen rock numbers prove that MOLLY HATCHET are justly considered to be on par with legends such as Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers. Justice is marked by hot Southern Rock that is exceptionally powerful and diverse. Almost every single track signals its musical and thematic direction. As front man Phil McCormack unmistakably sings on ‘American Pride’: “Got that American pride with that southern style, born and bred something deep inside.” And the title track is pretty much representative of the whole album: “We need some Justice to make the wrong into right.”
At the same time, MOLLY HATCHET don’t just broadcast these type of statements, they fill them with altruistic commitment, the most impressive example being ‘Fly On Wings Of Angels (Somer’s Song)’, which is based on a true story. MOLLY HATCHET have dedicated this haunting track to seven-year-old Somer Thompson from Florida, who was abused and brutally murdered. Without a second’s hesitation, Ingram and the band supported Somer’s parents when they needed help, by playing a charity concert to raise money and informing the public about the tragic events. As a listener, you can’t help but be moved when you hear Somer’s sister Abby Thompson sing at the beginning and end of the track. “Coincidentally, a few days ago a prime suspect was arrested,” Ingram says. “The indications are that he killed her, but we will be fair and not prematurely judge him until all questions have been answered. That’s also part of true Justice.”
There are so many exciting aspects to discover on an album which presents MOLLY HATCHET (Ingram, McCormick, Dave Hlubek (guitar), Tim Lindsey (bass), Shawn Beamer (drums), John Galvin (keyboards)) at the pinnacle of their creativity. MOLLY HATCHET have recorded a true masterpiece; not only in terms of their compositions, but also in terms of its production, Justice leaves nothing to be desired. Producer Ingram is responsible for the awesome sound, supported by sound engineer Tommy Newton, who mixed the album. “I wanted a warm, natural sound, which you only get with an analog mixing desk,” Ingram explains his decision of working with Newton and his Area 51 studio. And so Justice has turned into an album which impresses at all levels: earthy, dynamic, with a lot of love for detail and loads of energy. You could say it’s MOLLY HATCHET at their best!

NEW ALBUM “JUSTICE” IN STORES NOW
AVAILABLE AS CD, DOUBLE GATEFOLD VINYL AND DOWNLOAD
“Justice is all about loud ‘n’ proud hard rock — brash, boisterous, and ballsy” – AllMusic.com
“Molly Hatchet is the goddamn greatest biker rock band on the planet, with tracks like ‘Been To Heaven, Been To Hell’, ‘Safe In My Skin’ and the unbelievable snake-bit ‘Vengeance’ tearing a strip off of barroom rock with bold barbecued production and playing on fire.”- Bravewords
June 1st, 2010 marked the release of MOLLY HATCHET’S latest studio effort Justice. The album has been receiving rave reviews and the new songs are being heralded as instant classics. Guitarist and songwriter Bobby Ingram said the following about the current tour in support of Justice:
“…..As we are on tour now and playing the new album “JUSTICE” in circulation in many countries we are seeing so many people, cultures and countries filled with Southern Rockers that all relate to the theme of the new album. We have all experienced from both sides Justice sought and Justice Served…when playing the new album live we see people react to all of the songs played from “Southern Pride” to “Fly on Wings of Angels” (Somer’s Song) with a complete understanding of “JUSTICE”. We all must help each other during these times of hardship around the world and one person help another and another…in the end we all help each other and true “JUSTICE” is served. God Bless and see you all on tour!!!”
