20 years ago this month (August 1992), Liberty n’ Justice first album was released (“Armed With The Cross”) and to continue to celebrate two decades of recording music LNJ recorded a song to give away for free. Just go to our “new”
Facebook page ( http://www.facebook.com/libertynjusticerocks ) , like the page and you see a link to download
the song “In Time”.  The song is a remake, of a song that was featured in the movie “The Punisher” and features the talents of JK Northrup (King Kobra/ XYZ) and David Cagle.
Speaking of JK Northrup, we are proud to announce that he is now an official member of LNJ! Justin Murr had this to say about the addition to his group, ” For the past twelve years LNJ has basically been me with a bunch of guest musicians.
Working with JK over the past three years and three albums we gelled and it was only natural to take the next step in adding his talent to this group. We have big plans for the future and after “The Cigar Chronicles” is released we will be adding more guys to the group to step into the next phase of LNJ.” Northrup added,”I am very proud and honored to join Justin as an official member of Liberty n’ Justice! Justin and I have created some amazing songs together and I look forward to continuing the LNJ name for years to come.”

0 An Update From Liberty N’ Justice – New Song ‘Give ’em A Light” Featuring Paul Shortino & Dave Henzerling To Be Released Tuesday

  • June 10, 2012
  • by Rob Rockitt
  • · Entertainment · Hard Rock Music · Hard Rock News · Music
Liberty n’ Justice has been busy at work trying to complete there yet to be released double CD, “The Cigar Chronicles” (13 cover tunes/ 13 original tunes). On Tuesday June 12th, LNJ will be releasing a new single via digital outlets (Itunes etc) of a song that did not make the final cut of “The Cigar Chronicles”. The song titled “Give Em’ A Light” features Paul Shortino (King Kobra/Rough Cutt/Quiet Riot), JK Nothrup (King Kobra, XYZ), and David Henzerling (King Kobra/ Steelshine). Justin Murr of LNJ had this to say,”Being a huge music fan, having the chance to reunite Shortino/Northrup with David playing a cranking solo just blows me away! The response of our last CD “Hell Is Coming To Breakfast” (released 4-24-12) was so overwhelming and it was largely consisted of songs that did do not make “The Cigar” I thought we would continue letting people hear music they would not have heard otherwise.”
Liberty n’ Justice featuring Mark Lanoue (Biloxi/ Chasing Karma) and JK Northrup recently recorded a song “15 Years Later” for Andrew McNeice (www.melodicrock.com). The song wwas co-written by Northrup and Murr and will be exclusive to MRCD9 compilation record.
In other Liberty n’ Justice news, on June 12th LNJ is reissueing there 1996 release “Foever Till The End” via digital outlets. The album was remastered and new artwork was added (Lanoue ) for this special release. The album shows a earlier poppier sound of LNJ, and features the vocals of ex-CBS recording artist Gregg Clemons.
And finally LNJ Records is reissueing Tim Martin’s 1993 live CD “Exploring New Horizons…Live” (via digital outlets). Murr had this to say about the release,” Most people may not have heard of Tim Martin, but Tim was a big part of the LNJ legacy. Opening up for us on our “Lost In Eden” tour back in 93′, co-writing with me LNJ songs like “Foolish Child” (which he sang on both versions from “Big Guns” and “Welcome To The Revolution”, “In Good Faith”, “A little bit of love” (original demo was called “Born With Beggars”), and “Forever, I Love You”. Much more then all that Tim was a good friend and a spiritual mentor to myself.
On Sept. 13,2011, Tim was involved in a motorcycle accident and I lost a friend. I decided I would release Tim’s live CD (many of the tracks I co-wrote with him) and allow you to be blessed as Tim blessed me.
It’s a live recording with just Tim and his acoustic guitar and it shows what a talent Tim was. A portion of the proceeds are being donated in Tim’s name in a form of a scholarship. I miss my friend but I am happy to be finally share to the world his music.

0 Liberty ‘N’ Justice to Release “Hell is Coming to Breakfast”

Roxx Productions along with Liberty ‘n’ Justice are very pleased to announce for LNJ’s 20th Anniversary (1992-2012) the release of their 11th studio album ‘Hell is coming to Breakfast’. This marks the bands second release on Roxx Records after a successful partnership on the Limited Edition charity CD entitled ‘Chasing a Cure LP’ that the two teamed up on earlier in 2011. ‘Hell is coming to Breakfast is set for release on March 1, 2012 with pre-sales beginning now.

Justin Murr of Liberty ‘n’ Justice has this to say about the release… “We recorded so many songs for our yet to be released 2 CD project entitled ‘The Cigar Chronicles’ and with the delay on this release not happening until late in 2012 or early 2013 we didn’t want the fans to have to wait that long to get some new LNJ in their hands. So when Bill and Roxx Records approached me and asked if we had anything else up our sleeves we could release, we realized we had to many songs that were not all going to fit on ‘Cigar’ so we took the 6 songs that we couldn’t fit and then recorded another brand new song which is the title track ‘Hell is coming to breakfast’ especially for this release and added 5 more previously unreleased rare cuts and demos just for this one, I am really excited for our fans to hear this collection”

Bill from Roxx Records had this to say about the new release “We are very excited to be working with Justin and Liberty ‘n’ Justice once again, especially in the bands twentieth year! Justin and all the wonderful artists he works with continue to release nothing but top notch material and after twenty years it is just amazing how they keep coming up with so many great Melodic Rock songs again and again and again”

In addition to the 7 brand new tracks and various demos and rarities we are very excited to be able to include on this release and on CD for the very first time ever the original acoustic demo version of ‘Sin’ featuring the late great Jani Lane of Warrant out front on vocals.

1 New Liberty N’ Justice Song Featuring Jani Lane Available on Tuesday 8/15

  • · Entertainment · Hard Rock Music · Hard Rock News · Music

We are deeply sorry for the untimely passing of Jani Lane. Like many stars, his light burned very brightly but faded too quickly.  We have one of, if not the last, recording that Mr. Lane finished in the studio. We have witnessed an out pouring of emotion from the world’s music community regarding Jani’s death. We feel obligated to his family, friends, and fans to share one of his last artistic endeavors. This single “Sin”, was originally scheduled for release in early 2012 as part of a double CD from L ‘N J entitled ” The Cigar Chronicles.”  The song along with Lane features JK Northrup of King Kobra (who recorded and mixed the track), Keri Kelli of Alice Cooper, and Bill Leverty of Firehouse.

The single, “Sin” from Liberty n’ Justice featuring Jani Lane will be available for digital download through itunes starting Tuesday 8-15-11 and other digital stores to follow in the next few weeks. The song was written by JK Northrup, Justin Murr, Jani Lane, Keri Kelli, & Scott Bolan.  The song is published by Up-R-North Music (Ascap), Justin Murr Music (BMI), & Snare Enterprises (ASCAP).The I-tunes artwork was done by David Dluzak and other medias by Mark Lanoue.

Here is what people associated with the Liberty n’ Justice project had to say……..

“Jani Lane was the Vincent Van Gogh of “Hair Band Melodic Hard Rock.” A brilliant artist wrestling with his inner self. I came to know him through years of touring together and through many conversations. It was difficult to see him fight with his demons. He was my friend, my contemporary, and he will be truly missed.

This may be one of, if not his last recording.

The performance has a poignant message in relation to his life story.  I know that for him, Rock and Roll Heaven is indeed, not too far away !!!
Nothing but Love to you my Brother, Jani.”

CJ Snare of Firehouse/ Rubicon Cross

“In March of 2011, I was asked by Justin Murr to play on a song called “Sin”. I gladly excepted the offer because Liberty n’ Justice always puts out great music. The demo had a scratch vocal by the co-writer, JK Northrup that sounded really good, but I did not know who was going to be chosen to sing the real vocal. I’ve just learned that I was matched up with Jani Lane. I will tell you that Jani did an amazing job with his vocals. I am truly honored to be playing on this recording, which is quite possibly the last recording Jani ever made. I have extremely fond memories of touring with him since 1991 when we all became good friends on Warrant’s “Blood, Sweat, & Beers Tours”. Firehouse has played well over a 100 shows since then with Warrant and with Jani’s solo gig. Our friendship has never faded. This song’s lyrical content is very timely, and shows Jani in an
extremely vulnerable and honest light, where he bares his soul in an uncanny way. RIP my brother, your music will always be with me…”

Bill Leverty of Firehouse

“Like everyone, I was shocked to hear about the passing of Jani.  I was privileged to have opened a show with Warrant in Los Angeles at a large venue called “The Country Club”.  It was a sold out show, and just before they got signed!  It was easy to see why Jani and Warrant would make such an impact on the music world with his stage presence and song writing abilities.  Now some 24 years later, I found myself working with Jani on a song called “Sin” for the upcoming album with Justin Murr’s “Liberty N’ Justice” called “The Cigar Chronicle’s”.  Jani’s vocals and input on this song are very powerful!  Although it was not intended for release until 2012, all involved felt the importance to get this song out to all of his fans to hear this amazing song.  I know he will be smiling when this song is heard by all.  My sincere condolences to all of his family and friends.  He will be missed, but not forgotten! R.I.P Jani Lane!”

1 Liberty N’ Justice – Light It Up (2010)

After the demise of the Christian Metal band Liberty N’ Justice, band found Justin Murr decided to carry on with the Liberty N’ Justice name. Without a band at his disposal, he has brought in countless rockers to help create the songs from Liberty N’ Justice. Light It Up, is the brand new CD that was recently released by LNJ . It is s a star studded affair, and a damn fine release at that.

Typically, I am not a big fan of compilation CD’s, but Light it Up is a well rounded affair, and sounds great all the way through.

The first time I heard  the title track “Light It Up” I did a double take.  I could not believe this was Phil Lewis on vocals. Lewis sings in a lower key than I am accustomed to hearing him sing in. This is a rockin’ tune, and a pretty cool way to start off this CD.

Dale and Troy Thompson from Bride blast out the tune “The Other Thief” which sounds like it could be an unreleased Black Sabbath tune.

CJ Snare and Bill Leverty take the song “Blink” and make it sound like a lost Firehouse classic. I could see Firehouse doing this song live.  Great tune!

“Man vs. Mother Nature” reunites the team of Ted Poley & Vic Rivera.  If you liked the Poley /Rivera album, of any Danger Danger tunes, you are going to love this awesome song. This is easily the best on Light it Up.

“Uncle Sam”,  which combines the talents of Sheldon Tarsha and Foreigner’s Jeff Pilson.  If you haven’t heard Tarsha sing before, you are truly missing out.  I would have never thought about combing Tarsha with Pilson, but this combination works. This is another terrific tune.

“Every Reason To Believe” is an acoustic based tune which features Kelly Keeling & Kerri Kelli.  I have always loved Keeling’s voice, and he delivers with this song.  If “Every Reason To Believe” would have been released in the late eighties, it would have been a monster hit.  I can imagine a stadium full of lit lighters (or cellphones) swaying to this excellent tune.

I must admit that haven’t listened to a ton of Harem Scarem. “Beautiful Decision” which features Harem Scarem’s Harry Hess & Pete Lesperance, is a fantastic melodic rocker that is going to have me shopping for some Harem Scarem CD’s.

If “Greed” is any example of what the new Warrant tunes will sound like, sign me up now.  I have loved just about everything Robert Mason has been involved in, and I can add LNJ’s “Greed” to that list.

Overall, “Light It Up” is one of my favorite new releases of 2010.  If you are looking for a CD that can offer you a lot of variety, strong writing, and great sounding songs, you don’t need to look any further than Libery N’ Justice’s Light It Up.

Do yourself a favor, and visit the LNJ myspace page, to preview songs from this CD!  You can buy a copy at the Liberty N’ Justice website and through iTunes.   Don’t miss this.
