TESLA DELIVERS ‘FOREVER MORE,’
THE NEW STUDIO ALBUM SET FOR RELEASE OCTOBER 7
WORLD TOUR KICKS OFF OCTOBER 1
Multi-platinum rockers TESLA–Jeff Keith (vocals), Frank Hannon (guitars), Brian Wheat (bass), Troy Luccketta (drums) and Dave Rude (guitar)—are looking well into the future with their seventh studio album, FOREVER MORE, set for release October 7 on Tesla Electric Company Recordings (in partnership with Ryko Distribution).
“I Wanna Live,” the new album’s first single, is being serviced to radio stations nationwide on August 18. The band’s world tour will kick off October 1 in Salt Lake City with more dates announced in the coming weeks.
For FOREVER MORE, Tesla reunited with producer Terry Thomas, who was behind the boards for the band’s 1994 Gold-certified BUST A NUT album, and engineered by Michael Rosen who worked with Tesla on INTO THE NOW.
Guitarist Frank Hannon explains, “We started writing new songs for this album the first week of January, while simultaneously planning a mid-West tour of America in February and recording our COMIN’ ATCHA LIVE! 2008 DVD while we were on the road. Coming home in March, we hired Terry to jump back into writing and recording music with us while we edited the DVD and routed a summer tour of Europe. We’re riding a wave of energy that doesn’t come easy for a band of rookies much less a band whose been doing this for over 20 years – and we wouldn’t have it any other way.”
“After returning from Europe,” continues Frank, “we jumped right back into the studio to work on FOREVER MORE with Terry while setting up a tour of American festival shows in July and August, playing alongside bands such as Matchbox Twenty, the Wallflowers, Queensrÿche, KISS and Judas Priest. It’s great that we can play with any band, of any music genre, because we’ve never been pigeon-holed into a style or label of music throughout our career.”
In describing the vibe of the new album, he continues, “FOREVER MORE demonstrates this idea of writing songs in a diverse fashion. The title track is one of our deeper cuts complete with heavy lyrics, de-tuned riffs and acoustic interludes, while, ‘I Wanna Live’ is one of our more uplifting songs that bounces musically and delivers a lyrical message that suggests living life to the fullest.”
The rest of the album takes a similar ride of dynamic ups and downs with songs like ‘So What!,’ ‘Fallin’ Apart,’ ‘Breakin’ Free,’ ‘The Game,’ ‘All Of Me’ and ‘The First Time.’”
All the tracks on FOREVER MORE offer a variety of emotions where each song has its own twist–not sounding like another. FOREVER MORE was written and recorded during a period of high energy and bizarre life circumstances for each of Tesla’s band members, with those experiences coming full circle throughout the CD.
Tesla’s DVD, COMIN’ ATCHA LIVE! 2008 was released July 15. It’s the band’s first DVD in 17 years (since 1991’s Five Man Video Band) and is filled with over two hours of live music, special behind-the-scenes footage, their fans, backstage, on stage and loose on the streets of Seattle.
In addition, Tesla’s first double-disc collection of 32 of their best tracks and collectibles, GOLD, will be available on August 26 on Geffen/Universal Music Enterprises, ranging from 1986 through 2007 and including their chart hits “Signs,” “Love Song,” and “The Way It Is.“
3 New Video – Ashes Divide – The Stone
With the release of their debut album, Keep Telling Myself It’s Alright coming on April 8th, ASHES dIVIDE have released a widget that features the brand new video for “The Stone.” The clip was directed by PR Brown who is known for his work with Smashing Pumpkins and Death Cab For Cutie among many others.
ASHES dIVIDE will be taking the stage on Saturday May 17th, 2008, at the Rock On The Range Music Festival, in Columbus, Ohio.
0 Pennywise Album Will Be Free for Two Weeks!
It’s been a long, loud journey for Pennywise. The Southern California punk stalwarts released their debut album 17 years ago on Epitaph Records and went on to rack up 3 million CDs sold worldwide. This week, they release their ninth collection as a true 21st century endeavor: “Reason to Believe” finds the Hermosa Beach punks partnering with MySpace Records, and the 14-track album will be offered free to fans for two weeks beginning Tuesday.
“It’s a brave new world in the music industry,” lead singer Jim Lindberg said last week during a break from rehearsals.
Bands used to fret over the cover art for their album; now they wrestle with decisions about the price of their album and their path to the marketplace. All eyes were on Radiohead a few months ago with their pay-what-you-want model online followed by a physical CD release. And Lindberg said he was intrigued by Elvis Costello’s recent announcement that he would put out an album on vinyl that would come with a download voucher tucked inside. “I’m not really the person that downloads and listens on portable devices or a computer, that’s not how I enjoy my music. But a lot of people do, and this approach we’re doing will really connect with a lot of new people.”
It’s a significant project for MySpace, which will be putting its considerable network propulsion behind a free full album from a name band for the first time. Pennywise’s new single, “The Western World,” is already getting heavy rotation on KROQ-FM (106.7). (Epitaph will release the album jointly with MySpace Records in Europe and Australia.)
Pennywise (which has Fletcher Dragge on guitar, Byron McMackin on drums, Randy Bradbury on bass) got its start as a backyard lark in 1988. Lindberg said the turmoil and opportunity of the music industry today can be unsettling, but the band is just happy to be as loud as ever. “We all expected to need day jobs a long time ago.”
4 Saints of the Underground to be released 4/22/08
Saints of the Underground, the hard rock project featuring Jani Lane (Warrant), Robbi Crane (RATT), Keri Kelli (Alice Cooper) and Bobby Blotzer (RATT), is about to see the light of day! The new disc, Love the Sin, Hate the Sinner will be released to retailers on April 22, 2008.

3 Preview New Tracks by Michael Kiske
Frontiers Records is pleased to announce all the details for the release of MICHAEL KISKE new album entitled “Past In Different Ways” on May 9th 2008.
This much talked about album includes the reworking in a new fully acoustic and stripped back mood of some of Helloween’s classics that Kiske wrote and recorded in his early days with the legendary German Heavy Metal band. “When Serafino Perugino brought up the idea to do this record” says Michael, “my first reaction was: “No way! I don’t want to be dealing with my past all the time anymore!”. But after a few days my thinking changed and I thought:
maybe it’s not such a bad idea at all? Because on one hand it shows that I don’t reject my past just because I’m a different person today and on the other hand it can maybe give people who were part of that past a different view at those songs. It’s my music, I can still identify myself with its spirit, so why should I not do this?”.
Working in a creatively free environment helped Michael to look at his past with different eyes and brought the idea of working again on the songs that Michael wrote for Helloween during his years with the band. The result is “Past In a Different Ways“, a record which includes brand new recordings of Kiske’s songs taken off the two “Keeper” albums, “Chameleon” and “Pink Bubbles Go Ape“, plus the brand new song “Different Ways“.
The unconventional arrangements of many of the tracks will surprise and delight many of his fans and more surprising is to see how well these songs sound with a basic acoustic arrangement, without the “useless weight” and with new keys. “Songs like ‘In The Night‘ or ‘When The Sinner‘ which where never favourites of mine are much cooler and much more convincing now for my ears”, says Michael.
The album was recorded and mixed in Hamburg under Michael Kiske’s direction and features long time collaborators such as Sandro Giampietro on guitar, Fontaine Burnett on bass and Karsten Nagel on drums.
Kiske concludes: “It was not always easy for me emotionally to deal with this material. Music somehow seems to preserve emotional memories and I connect big human disappointments with the last years of that time. There’s
also something very unsatisfying about re-recording old songs; it’s always MUCH better to write new stuff, but I wanted to make those songs mine again. And in spite of the fact that I strongly felt for the last couple of years that I rather have to build myself a new base of friends, it’s always good to make peace with your past”.

2 Preview new tracks from Glenn Hughes’ F.U.N.K !!
Frontiers Records is pleased to present all the details about the release of the highly anticipated GLENN HUGHES new album entitled “First Underground Nuclear Kitchen (F.U.N.K.)” on May 11th 2008.
Produced by Glenn in Los Angeles, after countless hours spent writing in his home studio, “F.U.N.K.” is another magnificent statement from the “Voice of Rock”. “It is a roots album, it is a true account of my musical heritage but also fearless and multi-dimensional”. Once again Glenn has reinvented himself and his art, being able to offer a new album which is truly emotional and picturing his own current way to speak the language of music.
“The beauty of makin’ music, for me”, explains the former Deep Purple and singer and bassist, “is to have a vast blank canvas. To completely open myself up to the universe and the spirits, that these days, live with me day and night. I am no longer in fear of the dark, or what lurks behind door number 13. The songs on my new album were written in, and around my Los Angeles home, sometimes in semi-consciousness… sometimes, in a dreamstate, sometimes fully alert, as I was in full jog down by the harbour… these new songs are a true vindication. And realization, of the gift of a serene life, one day at a time”.
The result is a brilliant balance of the diverse influences that have always been present in Glenn’s music, but with an incredible and very addictive mood that helps creating a feeling of joy and true enjoyment all over the album. “I believe that the hard work has been worth waitin’ 4, this is 4 all my fans, and beyond: a deep Musical Statement”, concludes Glenn.
Once again all drums on the record were played by none other than the great Chad Smith of the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, while Luis Maldonado took care of the majority of the guitars (JJ Marsh and George Nastos only appear on 2 songs each) and Anders Olinder is on keyboards (with Ed Roth guesting on 3 songs).

Southern California rockers Unwritten Law will be filming their upcoming March 7th, 2008 performance at the Key Club in Hollywood, CA for an upcoming live DVD release later this year through Suburban Noize Records.
“2008 is looking to be an exciting new year for us boys in Unwritten Law. Emerging from Southern California’s skate/snowboard punk scene in the early 1990s, Unwritten Law has been crafting some of the most infectious pop-punk for over a decade. After releasing series of independent releases that saw them crisscrossing the country with everyone from Sum 41, Hawthorne Heights and opening for punk legends the Sex Pistols, Unwritten Law garnered the mainstream attention they so richly deserved with the release of their fourth album “Elva”, which sold in excess of 400,000 copies. The album produced the top Modern Rock singles “Up All Night”, “Rest of My Life” and the #1 Top 20 single “Seein Red”. 2003 saw the group strip down for the acoustic live record “Music in High Places”, while the group’s 2005 release “Here’s to The Morning” debuted on the Billboard Charts Top 200 at #51.
Unwritten Law has consistently triumphed over adversity and found strength within their music. The group has released five albums on five different record labels and has sold over a million units. The group’s success continues to grow and thrive, despite a record business that continues to spiral downward. Meanwhile the group’s out of control antics have continuously kept the group’s name in press headlines.
In late 2007 the group officially signed with Suburban Noize Records for the release of their currently untitled sixth studio album. The group’s upcoming Suburban Noize debut will see release through the label in late 2008.
“This will be our first release on yet another new label for us, but with a label with whom we have had a long standing history with, the mighty Suburban Noize,” says an excited PK. “We are proud and stoked to have come full circle and to join the Suburban Noize family and look forward to an exciting year.”

ASHES dIVIDE, the new band fronted by A Perfect Circle co-founder Billy Howerdel, have just released their debut single, “The Stone.” The response has been phenomenal with the track reaching the #1 and #2 “most added” slots on Alternative and Active Rock radio formats respectively! The band is getting set to release their debut album, Keep Telling Myself It’s Alright, on March 18th through Island Records.

71 New AC/DC album on the way in ’08!
AC/DC will reportedly play special “secret” club gig on January 25 at Glashaus in Reinach, Switzerland. Only 400 tickets are apparently available for the concert, which is part of a short mini-tour of small venues the band is planning on undertaking at the end of the month.
According to the Spanish web site RafaBasa.com, AC/DC has been quietly working on its first all-new album since 2000’s “Stiff Upper Lip” with legendary producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange, and is planning on releasing the effort — which is rumored to be titled “Strap It On” (a name that has apparently been bounced around for at least the last couple of years) — at the end of April. The group’s guitarist, Angus Young, is also said to have fully recovered from a recent knee injury which had apparently contributed to the delay in getting the new record completed.
