0 Live Raw and Uncut Tour – Poison

On August 16th of 2008, Poison brought their Live, Raw and Uncut Tour to Cincinnati.  The band usually brings their tour here each summer, and usually plays to near sell out crowds.

I have gone to their concert for the last couple of years, and while the band was excellent last year, this time around I was a little disappointed.  Big John from Rock of Love was the emcee for this show, which for me added nothing to the concert.  Personally, I don’t think Bret Michaels should be mixing his Poison and Rockdsc06175 of Love thing together, but that is just me.  The band also seemed to play a shorter set, so Bret could leave and attend an after party at a local club, the Blue Note in Cincinnati.

The set list for the show this year was something like this:

“Look What the Cat Dragged In”, ” I Want Action”, “Ride The Wind”, “I Won’t Forget You”, “What I Like About You”, “Something To Believe In”, “Your Mama Don’t Dance”, “Unskinny Bop”, “Every Rose Has It’s Thorn”, “Fallen Angel”, and the set closer “Nothin’ But A Good Time”.

Luckily Poison doesn’t overcharge their fans for their tickets, which is a good thing, but the lack of new material (no surprise there), and Bret Michael’s voice being a little off was somewhat of a disappointment to me.  This was my stepdaughter’s first Poison experience, and she enjoyed it.  I guess that is all that matters in the long run.

Hopefully Bret Michaels will walk away from his Rock of Love thing, and start writing some new music with Poison.

The clips below are from the show.  Enjoy!

The show that Five Million people watched the finale of is a Scam?

PR-Inside has posted the following article regarding Rock of Love with Bret Michaels:

JesPOISON star BRETT MICHAELS’ hit new reality dating show, ROCK OF LOVE, has been exposed as a sham – the girl he picked to date was already in a committed relationship.
The rocker picked Jes Ricklett as his mate in the show’s high-rated finale last month (Sep07), but the pink-and-white haired stylist had no plans of having a real romance with Michaels – she dashed off to be with her boyfriend as soon as taping finished.
And, to make matters worse for Michaels, Ricklett’s real man, Chicago-based designer Joe Quade, has started poking fun at the Poison star on his MySpace.com page.
Ricklett tells the National Enquirer she had no intention of becoming the girlfriend of a faded rock star when she auditioned for the hit show.
She says, “Someone found me and wanted me to audition for the show, so I did.
“To be honest, I wasn’t going on there looking for love. I was kind of like, `Let’s see if I could promote myself.’ That’s pretty much why I did it.” But it’s not all bad news for Michaels – the summer show was such a hit on VH1 in America, TV bosses have ordered a second season, during which the Poison star will again be on the look out for love.
