Without question, the biggest and best Metal festival of 2012 is the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival featuring Motörhead, Slayer, Anthrax, Slayer, Asking Alexandra, As I Lay Dying, The Devil Wears Prada, White Chapel, Upon A Burning Body, The Breather, Betraying the Martyrs and Dirtfedd.
The band we are most excited about seeing is Motörhead featuring the ultra charming Lemmy Kilmister. When you talk to Lemmy in an interview, he doesn’t mince words….check out this brief Q & A with the Motörhead mastermind below.
1) What band on the Mayhem Festival are you most interested in seeing, and why?
Slayer – ‘cos I haven’t seen ’em since we toured with them years ago.
2) Even though you’ll only be in each place for a short time, what city on the Mayhem tour are you most looking forward to?
Boise, Idaho – first time for Motörhead!
3) What city in the world do you most like and why?
I like anywhere that likes me!
4) If you could choose anyone in the world to spend an hour in conversation, who would it be?
Rihanna – I could probably spare her two!
5) What Motörhead song are you most proud of?
Orgasmatron / March or Die .
6). Most people may not know that you’re an avid reader. What book are you currently reading?
I’m reading “Game Of Thrones” by George R.R. Martin for the 2nd time!
7) You go to record stores sometimes – what music are you next interested in buying?
Music I like!
8) Is Motörhead currently writing new material for the next record, and if so, when can we expect the next release?
Next year – We have about 6 songs so far

The festival will be running a “Get Off Your Ass” promotion which will run for the first 72 hours of the pre-sale period, ending on Monday, April 11th at 10am. This “Get Off Your Ass” promotion will knock $5 off of any ticket price for any show date, including pit, reserved and lawn tickets! Highlights of the 72-hour “Get Off Your Ass” ticket pre-sale offer include a specially priced 3D commemorative ticket which doubles as a “jump the line” pass, early entrance to your local show, access to a limited edition ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL pre-sale t-shirt offer, and a specially priced subscription offer from Revolver Magazine. This is a limited time offer, while supplies last and limited to six tickets per person. Note that the 72-hour “Get Off Your Ass” offer does not apply to Boise, ID, Montreal, QC and Oklahoma City, OK. This summer’s mainstage artists, DISTURBED, GODSMACK, and MEGADETH, will be joined by a ferocious mix of the best hard rock and metal artists of today. For the first time in festival history, through their success, IN FLAMES, MACHINE HEAD and TRIVIUM have grown through the ranks to now perform on the mainstage in rotating slots throughout the tour. Yesterday, I spent the afternoon at the Rockstar Energy drink Mayhem festival in Indianapolis, IN. I caught several bands live, and hope to have the photos and video up on the site soon. I have close to 4 GB of photo and video to go through, so I will put stuff up as time allows.
Some of the bands that I saw yesterday were Black Tide, Five Finger Death Punch, Airbourne, Dragonforce, Disturbed and Slipknot.
