ROSS THE BOSS RETURNS WITH A VENGEANCE, IN ALL-NEW METAL GROUP, DEATH DEALER

As a founding member of both Manowar and the Dictators, guitarist Ross the Boss needs no introduction. But it’s been a while since the metal masses heard from Ross, leading some to wonder if or when he would return. The wait is now over, as his newly formed outfit, Death Dealer, is ready to rock and take the world by storm, with their debut album, ‘Warmaster.’

“The Death Dealer sound is a mighty combination of five very talented, seasoned musicians,” explains Ross. “It’s classic power metal with the brutal edge of thrash, speed, and precision.” And when he says the band is comprised of talented and seasoned musicians, he’s not kidding, as Death Dealer also includes vocalist Sean Peck (Cage), guitarist Stu Marshall (producer and guitarist for such voices as Udo Dirkschneider and Steve Grimmett), bassist Mike Davis (Rob Halford, Lizzy Borden), and drummer Rhino (Manowar).

Formed last year via correspondence over the internet, as soon as work commenced on the material, Ross knew he had met his metallic match. “Well, after they sent the first tune over, I was blown away, then Stu and Sean tell me they want me to join this band, called Death Dealer. I say, ‘Who else is in the band? They say, ‘Rhino on drums.’ I’m in! Stu goes, ‘It was either you or we would have asked KK Downing to be on guitar.’ Wow!”

As evidenced by such tunes as “Death Dealer,” “Never to Kneel,” and “The Devil’s Mile,” for fans of authentic, no-holds-barred, manly heavy metal, ‘Warmaster’ is an absolute godsend. And soon, Death Dealer will be converting metalheads worldwide to their cause. “Our future plans? Obviously to put Death Dealer on the worldwide metal map, and to engage large crowds and render them shocked and satisfied.”

Death Dealer is:

Sean Peck – vocals
Stu Marshall – guitar
Ross the Boss – guitar
Mike Davis- bass
Rhino – drums

0 Ross the Boss to release “Hailstorm” on October 29th!

  • October 15, 2010
  • by Rob Rockitt
  • · Entertainment · Hard Rock Music · Hard Rock News · Music

WARNING: a “Hailstorm” is rising…it’s coming closer… arrival date: October 29th, 2010. And as ROSS THE BOSS vocalist Patrick Fuchs sings in the title tracks of their new album, this “Hailstorm” will be apocalyptic and devastating.
Well, in fact this storm will more build than destroy anything. On the foundation of their strong debut album “New Metal Leader” from 2008, the band around the legendary Ross “The Boss” Friedman forged a masterpiece of true heavy metal. Surely fans of MANOWAR will dig this, as ROSS THE BOSS continue where Manowar left off way more than a decade ago.

All trademarks are here: the epic, powerful tracks full of the special magic that only the masters are able to create, the bloodcurdling, passionate vocals and a mercilessly driving rhythm force. “Hailstorm” is the essence of pure metal, with Ross’ Rock’n’Roll roots shining through here and there (just listen to the party smasher “Burn Alive”). A majestic album with 11 strong tracks, no fillers. Starting with the anthemic “Kingdom Arise”, that breathes the spirit of Manowar classics like “Thor” and “Blood Of The Kings”, to continue with the incredibly catchy “Dead Man’s Curve”, the raw up-tempo banger “Hailstorm” and epic masterpieces like “Empire’s Anthem”… this album has it all.

With their second album “Hailstorm” now, the ROSS THE BOSS band shows unity, iron will, musical competence, lots of determination and even more heart. All hail the boss!

01. I.A.G.
02. Kingdom Arise

07. Great Gods Glorious

3 Manitoba’s Wild Kingdom – …And You? (1990)

  • November 20, 2009
  • by Rob Rockitt
  • · CD Reviews I-P · Entertainment · Hard Rock Music · Hard Rock News · Music

Digging deep into my collection, I found this lost gem, Manitoba’s Wild Kingdom.  I recently loaded this CD into my play list as I completely forgot about this band. Manitoba’s Wild Kingdom was formed from the ashes of the legendary punk band The Dictators.  They released one CD under the Wild Kingdom moniker, before reforming the Dictators in the late nineties.

..And You? is a cool blast of punk metal, led by the cool party anthem “The Party Starts Now”.  This CD is ridiculously short.  Only two songs are longer than three minutes.  The total playtime is just a little over 26 minutes. Even though it is short, it is still a pretty fun CD to listen to.

Dick Manitoba probably will not ever be considered a great singer, but he makes these songs work. Former Manowar guitarist Ross “The Boss” Friedman dishes out some cool guitar licks, and give the songs on …And You? a metal edge.

“Haircut and Attitude” almost sounds like a lost Beastie Boys song. D.W.I. is so catchy, it almost sounds like a KISS tune. “Fired Up” is more metal, than punk, and is a good tune to fire you up! …And You? sounds good when played loud.  I think I am getting more enjoyment out of this CD now, than when it was originally released.

You can score copies of this CD dirt cheap at this link.  The ultra low price makes this a CD worth checking out. Don’t miss out on this lost classic.
