The band recently shot a music video for the title track in their hometown of Corinth, Mississippi. In this unique example of total community participation, both the town and band came together to make this video.

They stood together to make a statement against the bullying epidemic in America and hope the video serves as a call for others to do the same. Still shots from the shoot can be seen above. Click HERE to watch the video for “Bringing Down The Giant”!

The band will release its brand new record “Bringing Down The Giant” tomorrow, July 17th, 2012.

“I’m so excited and proud to announce that we have signed to eOne. Thanks to them the world will get a chance to hear this amazing collection of songs,” says frontman Jared Weeks. “Bringing Down The Giant” is the bands follow up release to “Miss America,” released in 2010. The band has been hard at work since then and want fans to know they are back. Weeks continues, “We have taken the last year to write and record the best songs of our career.”

Saving Abel combined meat and potatoes rock with their eponymous Gold-selling 2008 debut, which topped the Billboard Heatseekers chart. The record spawned the platinum single “Addicted” and the followup barn-burners, “Drowning (Face Down)” and the emotional “18 Days.” Their second album, “Miss America,” topped the Hard Rock chart and imprinted the hearts and minds of radio listeners with the title cut, “Stupid Girl (Only in Hollywood)” and another Top 10 single, “The Sex is Good.”

After blazing their own path with two full lengths, six top ten singles with two of them reaching number one, SAVING ABEL is ready to break new ground with “Bringing Down The Giant.”

ROCK ON THE RANGE 2011:

FIFTH ANNIVERSARY OF AMERICA’S PREMIER

DESTINATION ROCK FESTIVAL

WITH SPECTACULAR LINEUP OF ROCK HEAVYWEIGHTS

FEATURING

A PERFECT CIRCLE, AVENGED SEVENFOLD,

DISTURBED, KORN, STONE SOUR AND STAIND

LINE-UP ALSO INCLUDES PERFORMANCES FROM

DANZIG, HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY AND ALTER BRIDGE

ROCK ON THE RANGE is celebrating its Fifth Anniversary!  America’s premier destination rock festival–May 21-22 at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio–will feature a spectacular lineup of rock heavyweights including A Perfect Circle (first performance of 2011), Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Korn, Stone Sour and Staind (first performance in two years).  The unforgettable weekend will also be highlighted by performances from Danzig, Hollywood Undead, Bullet For My Valentine, Black Label Society and Alter Bridge. In addition, Juliya of Fuse TV will return as the Mistress of Ceremonies for the event.

“Three years ago my other band Ashes Divide was fortunate enough to play Rock On The Range as a support act; to return to the same festival and headline this year with A Perfect Circle is truly an honor,” says Billy Howerdel of A Perfect Circle.

“We are honored that Rock On The Range has asked us be one of the headliners,” says M Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold. “Not only is it an amazing show to be apart of, but it holds a deep spot in our hearts. Rock On The Range was the last American show we played with our best friend and drummer, The Rev. We are looking forward to continuing his legacy of rock n roll insanity that night! See you all there.”

“If you suffer from stimulus overload, the fifth anniversary of Rock On The Range may be too much for you,” quips Del Williams, co-executive producer of the event for Right Arm Entertainment.  “Virtually all of the bands that make up the top of the Active Rock charts are performing at America’s biggest Rock festival.   When you look at the acts on the bill, and think of the massive list of songs that live in the body of that lineup, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with excitement.”

The ROCK ON THE RANGE celebration will start early on Friday night, May 20 with the nation’s biggest pre-festival Anniversary Party at the venue, featuring performances from two of the world’s craziest throwback rock artists–Steel Panther and Lez Zeppelin.  Best of all, your ticket to the Anniversary Party will be absolutely FREE with every ROCK ON THE RANGE weekend ticket purchase!

“It seems like only yesterday that we created this vision for an active rock festival in the heartland, but it’s actually been five years now.” comments Joe Litvag, co-executive producer of the event for AEG Live.  “If it weren’t for the loyal fan base of active rock fans, the ‘Rangers,’ Rock On The Range would still just be an idea on the back of a napkin!  We can’t think of a better way to say ‘thank you’ then to throw a big FREE party for everyone!  It will be a night of unmatched celebration!”

A special ROCK ON THE RANGE ticket pre-sale will take place from Wednesday, February 9 at 10:00 AM (ET) through Friday, February 11 at 10:00 PM (ET).  For details on pre-sale, go to: www.facebook.com/rockontherange.  Tickets go on sale to the general public Saturday, February 12 at 10:00 AM (ET).  Two-day weekend festival passes start at just $99.50 plus service and transaction fees. Layaway ticket purchase options are also still available for a limited time.

“We are extremely excited about the lineup for Rock On The Range’s Fifth Anniversary show at Crew Stadium,” said Mark McCullers, President & General Manager of the Columbus Crew, a co-executive Producer of Rock On The Range.  “We are coming off another record year in 2010 and are looking forward to raising the bar again in 2011.”

ROCK ON THE RANGE–The Book is another new bonus for fans in connection with the fifth anniversary of the festival.  This limited edition coffee-table photo book captures the first four years of ROTR and features behind-the-scenes photos, never-before-seen performance shots, and testimonials from past ROTR performers including Stone Temple Pilots, Slipknot, Slash, Godsmack, Disturbed, Rob Zombie, Rise Against and many more. Saving Abel recently teamed up with Yahoo! for the site’s signature “Maximum Performance” program. In this very special exclusive performance Saving Abel provided at sea entertainment for more than 2,000 sailors who were returning home after a three-month deployment on the USS Carl Vinson. The band rocked live renditions of “Drowning (Face Down),” “New Tattoo,” and “Hell of a Ride” for the sailors during the concert. The performance for the troops was another for the band to draw inspiration from, as they did from their last USO tour through Kuwait and Iraq, which ultimately inspired the title of their new album, Miss America. “Just being out there with those men and women who do so much for us and the country we live in, we really wanted to give them something back,” said the band’s singer Jared Weeks.

Miss America, the new album is available in-stores and on-line now. For any additional info, visit Saving Abel on Facebook.

0 Scott Bartlett Of Saving Abel Starts New Fashion Trend With Tatco

Scott Bartlett

Lead Guitarist Creates More Than Good Music with New Line of Clothing

Scott Bartlett, lead guitarist for the rock quintet Saving Abel, is starting a new fashion trend with his edgy clothing line, TATCo, the artists tattoo company.  On the band’s newest video, Drowning (Face Down), the music video for the band’s third single from their gold certified self-titled debut album, Bartlett wears one of the signature pieces from TATCO that is already in select high-end urban clothing boutiques nationwide.

In Memphis during its largest annual music festival, Memphis in May, hundreds of fans converged on a popular boutique, The Baer’s Den, to purchase pieces from the TATCo line and get up close and personal with Bartlett during the company’s soft launch.  Bartlett also unveiled his newest addition to the company with Zach Meyers of Shinedown, a line of TATCO clothing featuring Meyers’ famous body tattoos that are now on vests and shirts for purchase.  “It’s pretty cool to see your fans at the concert with your tattoos on their shirts, screaming your name and singing your songs.  You definitely feel a connection to them,” said Meyers.

The concept behind TATCo is to fuse rock music and tattoo art in creative clothing designs inspired by the bands and artists in today’s alternative rock genre.  “Our fans love our music and our tattoos, but they can’t go out and get the tattoo of every band that they add to their CD collection.  TATCo makes it possible to rock out in a new way,” said Bartlett on a recent interview with an ABC affiliate about his new clothing line.

Hundreds of fans have already purchased TATCo gear even though the official launch of the clothing company is not until May 30th in Kansas City, Missouri.

Rock band Saving Abel will join Seether as openers for Nickelback on their North American tour beginning this week on February 25th in Nashville, TN Saving Abel’s largest outing to date will hit arenas in over 30 cities across the continent. Tickets are currently on sale through Live Nation (www.livenation.com).

“We’re thrilled to be opening for Nickelback. It’s crazy, a year ago we were playing small bars and clubs around Memphis and now we’re touring the country in a bus and will be playing with one of the biggest touring rock bands in arenas,” said Saving Abel frontman Jared Weeks.

Saving Abel have been on the road non-stop since the March, 2008 release of their self titled debut from Virgin records and have played with rock heavy weights such as Buckcherry, Avenged Sevenfold, Puddle of Mudd and Shinedown. The band has enjoyed impressive success with their chart-topping, multi-format smash debut single “Addicted,” which hit #1 at mainstream rock radio, spent 11 consecutive weeks at #2 on the active rock chart and reached #7 at alternative radio. At press time, the track is the most played song of 2008 at the active rock format. “Addicted” found a whole new life in July when it impacted Top 40 radio. The run away hit is now sitting in the top 10 at the format and is top 15 at Hot AC. While “Addicted” is topping the pop charts, Saving Abel’s second single “18 Days,” a huge rock ballad dedicated to the troops, is heating up at rock radio where it is already top 10 at active rock and top 20 at alternative radio. Videos for both tracks have witnessed major play across all video channels including MTV2, VH1, Fuse and Music Choice where “Addicted” is currently the #1 played video an their “Hit List” channel. Saving Abel continues to reach new heights on the sales charts as well. The album spent 3 consecutive weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart before debuting on the Billboard 200 in July. It has sold over 240,000 copies to date. ”Addicted” hit #20 on the digital singles chart and is approaching platinum success with over 800,000 singles sold thus far.

Saving Abel – named after the Biblical sibling of Cain – was formed by Jared Weeks and guitarist Jason Null in 2004 in their hometown of Corinth, Mississippi. Now based in Memphis, Tennessee, the band’s lineup includes guitarist Scott Bartlett, bassist Eric Taylor and drummer Blake Dixon. Combining influences of southern rock, hard rock and alternative music, the band was first heard on a 2005 EP, produced by Skidd Mills (12 Stones, Saliva, Submersed).

savingabelpic

The co-founder of the rock group Saving Abel and another employee of the band are facing charges after authorities say they forced a 17-year-old girl to perform a sex act following a concert in Oakland.

Thirty-three-year-old Jason Null and 21-year-old Brandon Danger were arraigned Friday on charges of forced oral copulation and forced oral copulation on a minor.

Null, a founder and lead guitarist with the group, pleaded not guilty. His attorney says the charges are “baseless” and his client will be exonerated. Danger has yet to enter a plea.

Police say the girl was lured onto the band’s tour bus Tuesday night thinking she would be in a rock video. Once inside, they say she was forced to perform the sex act.

0 Saving Abel – S/T (Release Year – 2008)

Mississippi isn’t exactly well known for its rock heritage. Aside from the band, 3 Doors Down, not too many famous rock acts have come out of the Magnolia State. The five gentlemen from Saving Abel may not be famous, but with their new cd, they could change that soon.

The band already has a radio hit with their song, Addicted, and judging from the other songs on their debut, this is just the first taste of success for Saving Abel.

At first, I was ready to dismiss, Saving Abel, as another Nickelback clone, but after a couple of spins, I thought their music has a slightly heavier edge. Some songs fall into that safe radio ready rock area, but as a whole I found this CD highly listenable.

Jared Weeks has a very clean sounding voice, and it really starts to shine on some of the slow to mid tempo numbers. I can hear some southern rock influences in Saving Abel’s music, although it isn’t predominant throughout the record, it is obviously a factor in the songs 18 Days and Drowning (Face Down).

The record has several hit worthy tunes include the heavier numbers, New Tattoo, In God’s Eyes, and 18 Days.

If you are a fan of mainstream rock, you will probably like this record a lot. If you are an old school 80’s rock fan, this album may not excite you as much. There really isn’t a band song on this disc, and it is available for the paltry sum of $7.99 at Amazon.com. You can listen to several of the tunes here at the Saving Abel myspace page. Check ’em out.

3 Saving Abel, Airbourne, Theory of a Deadman Concert Review

HRH favorite Airbourne, Saving Abel and Theory of A Deadman rolled into Cincinnati at Bogart’s on Thursday Night. After seeing Airbourne’s excellent live show in Lexington, KY for the first time, I wasn’t about to miss them when they came back to my area.

Like the meat in a good sandwich, Airbourne took the stage between Saving Abel and Theory of a Deadman Thursday Night. Much to my surprise, Saving Abel was already done performing and had their packed off the stage before we arrived at 8:00 P.M. We didn’t even realize that they had played, until Theory of a Deadman thanked Saving Abel and Airbourne during the final songs of their set.

I was somewhat disappointed that I didn’t get to see Saving Abel, but I came to see Airbourne, and once they took the stage, any disappointment I may have had for the evening was easily dissipated.

Airbourne took the stage at approximately 8:30. They performed several songs off of their album Running Wild including: Stand Up For Rock ‘N’ Roll, Hellfire, Fat City, Diamond in the Rough, What’s Eating You, Cheap Wine Cheaper Women, Girls in Black, and Running Wild. Airbourne’s set was not quite as energetic as their Headlining show in Lexington, KY had a few short weeks ago. Part of the problem on this night was the audience that came to see the show. Most of the twenty something crowd was there to see Theory of a Deadman, and, in my opinion, could care less to see Airbourne. Whatever promoter put these two bands together must have a real sense of humor, as both bands have a completely different style, that are not very complimentary of each other.

In Lexington, KY, Airbourne fed off of the crowd, and the crowd fed off the band. In Cincinnati, the T.O.A.D. crowd was certainly energetic. Their was crowd surfing during Airbourne’s set, but the vibe was no where near the same. This didn’t seem to matter to Airbourne front man Joel O’Keeffe, as he turned in an another amazing live performance. Airbourne started winning the crowd over towards the end of their set, and did receive plenty of applause before they gave up the stage to Theory of A Deadman.

With T.O.A.D., I found myself in a strange position, as I was one of the few in the crowd that did not know the majority of the songs that they performed. Usually, I know a band’s music fairly well before I go to see them, but with Theory of a Deadman, they only came onto my radar with their new CD, Scars & Souvenirs. I like the new CD, fairly well, but I am not familiar with their earlier material. The majority of their set, was their older stuff.

Theory of a Deadman’s singer, Tyler Connolly commands the stage, and has a pretty good voice, that is somewhat like Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger. I don’t think I have seen a hair do like his, since the last time I watched old reruns of Happy Days. The music is by far the most important thing, and their set was pretty tight. They played the tunes Nothing Could Come Between Us, Hate My Life, Santa Monica, Hating Hollywood, Got It Made, Bad Girlfriend, So Happy and two or three other songs, whose names escape me. Even though the sounded great, they were no where near as entertaining as Airbourne, and didn’t have half of the energy. Airbourne is a hard act to follow, and although Theory of a Deadman was good, I thought Airbourne was the better of the two.

I am glad I caught this show, even though it is not the best one that I have seen in 2008.

Enjoy the live clips of Airbourne and Theory of a Deadman below!

Airbourne – Hellfire

Airbourne – Fat City

Airbourne – Runnin’ Wild

Theory of A Deadman – Bad Girlfriend
