2 New Post – Sister Sin – Fight Song
Swedish rockers, SISTER SIN have released a music video for the high energy-fueled track, “Fight Song” from their newest release, Now and Forever. Powerhouse frontwoman Liv Jagrell delivers an absolute TKO performance, providing the ultimate soundtrack for showing the world exactly what you’re made of. SISTER SIN show how merciless they can be as Jagrell reminds her enemies, “God forgives – I don’t.”
0 Doro & Sister Sin in Columbus, Ohio
Sister Sin and Doro brought their hot winter metal tour to Columbus, Ohio last Saturday Night. I have been looking forward to this show for a quite some time, and had this one blocked out on my calendar for weeks. I saw Sister Sin live back in 2009, when they opened for Faster Pussycat and the Bulletboys. Sister Sin blew those bands off of the stage that night. I have been anxious to see them play again ever since. I can’t imagine two more power female metal singers singing on the same bill (although Benedictum would have been a cool addition) as Liv Jagrell and Doro Pesch.
So Saturday night, Stone from Metal Odyssey and I, embarked on a short road trip to the Ace of Cups club in Columbus. Several local bands opened the show, with my favorite being the thrash metal band Skullbomb.
The anticipation grew with each and every band, and I was very excited when Sister Sin took the stage. If you haven’t seen Sister Sin play, you are truly missing out. Liv Jagrell has a big voice that could rival that of Doro. Sister Sin’s set was tight, and I was very happy to hear them play a few new songs off of their new album, Now and Forever. If you haven’t picked up one of Sister Sin’s CD’s, you are really missing out.
I have been a Warlock fan since high school, but believe it or not, I have not seen Doro perform live before last Saturday. How was Doro?
She looked and sounded amazing. She hasn’t lost one bit of her vocal range. Her voice was in fine form, and her band was damn good too. I nearly forgot that Johnny Dee from Britny Fox was drumming for Doro. I haven’t seen him since the 80’s. His drum solo was pretty cool too.
I couldn’t have been happier with Doro’s set, although I wish she would have played longer. Her set consisted mostly of Warlock tunes including: “Metal Racer”, “Burning The Witches”, “Earthshaker Rock”, “True As Steel”, “Fight For Rock”, “All We Are”, “Metal Tango”, and “Für Immer “. She also performed “Raise your Fist In The Air” and “Hero” off of her new album, Raise Your Fist.
After the show, both Liv and Doro were at the merchandise both autographing memorabilia, taking pictures and meeting fans. The line was long, and the wait was heinous, but getting to meet Doro Pesch made this awesome night of metal even better. I can’t wait to see Sister Sin and Doro play again.

0 SISTER SIN VOCALIST LIV JAGRELL TALKS ABOUT UPCOMING TOUR WITH DORO PESCH
The year and a half wait is finally over! Swedish heavy metal band SISTER SIN has made their way back to North America to unleash a dose of heavy metal fury upon the masses. Beginning tomorrow, February 1st in Tampa, Florida they will tour alongside DORO as they blaze through nineteen cities before beginning a series of headlining dates on February 24th in Las Vegas. 1 Sister Sin – Now And Forever (2012)
Have you ever yearned to hear hard rock music that hits you so hard, your fist is in the air by the second song? If so, then Sister Sin’s Now And Forever is a record that you must listen to. Filled with nothing but hard rocking, pulse pounding, kick ass, hard rock music Now And Forever is a gem of an album.
Sweden has become a hot bed for some great glam metal over the last few years, and Sister Sin is one more addition to that list of awesome. Their latest album, Now And Forever, is another fabulous ride through some ripping glam metal.
Sister Sin has been making hard rocking music since 2002, and making it well. For their fourth album, the tradition of great, glam metal continues. The first single and one of the best tracks from Now And Forever is “End Of The Line.” Showing off all of Sister Sin’s strengths, “End Of The Line” is the song that will have listeners falling in love with the band. Fantastic guitars with great solos, a heavy, steady drum beat, and excellent vocals from lead singer, Liv Jagrell, make “End Of The Line” one of the greatest rock songs that I’ve heard in a while.
The hard hits just keep on coming after that. “Fight Song” delivers the goods with hard hitting drums courtesy of Dave Sundberg, and some excellent guitar work via Jimmy Hitula. And anytime a song starts with a big loud “Fuck You!” from a vixen of a lead singer, well, you can consider me hooked. And the good news is that “Fight Song” has more than just a cool intro. It has balls that last throughout the entire track.
“In It For Life” picks up right where “Fight Song” left off. More loud, hard rocking guitars, devious drum beats, exceptional bass lines from Strandh, and being told to kiss Liv Jagrell’s ass in the first thirty
seconds. Sounds like something I’m going to jam out with for a long time. And with the incredible raw power that is captured on “In It For Life,” I’ll be hitting my repeat button quite a few times.
Every other song on the record follows this same pattern. That’s the greatest thing about Now And Forever — the raw power that it packs. After one listen to this disc if you aren’t rocking out harder than
ever before, well, you may not be a metal head. Sister Sin is the real deal and Now And Forever is their strongest effort yet. The guitar solos are well thought out and perfectly placed with some amazing finger
picking by Hitula. He is a great guitarist and if Sister Sin gets the recognition that they deserve, Hitula will be mentioned in the same paragraphs as some of the greats of our time. Add in the amazing ability of Liv
Jagrell to front the band and you’ve got a deadly combination waiting to explode.
If you haven’t checked out Sister Sin yet, this is the perfect album to get to know them. Now And Forever will leave you hooked and wanting to hear more. The great news about that is that there is plenty of
back catalog to pick up after you’ve worn out your copy of Now And Forever. You can pick up a copy of Now And Forever at this link!

1 DORO: North American Tour Dates Announced
Metal queen DORO PESCH will be returning to North America in 2013 to rock the masses in support of her twelfth solo album, Raise Your Fist! The tour is set to commence on February 1st in Tampa, Florida with support provided by Sweden’s Sister Sin. Exclusive pre-sale tickets can be purchased at EnterTheVault.com through October 5; afterwards, tickets will be available through all normal ticketing outlets.
Comments DORO of the long-awaited trek: “I’m so excited to tour North America again! I can’t wait to see all the great fans again and play the new songs off Raise Your Fist and of course all the songs the fans love. It’ll be a set list with the best tunes, hard and fast and lots of anthems and surprises. We’ll have some very special guests at our New York City and Los Angeles shows too and killer support from Sister Sin! I can’t wait to see you guys and wish you all the very best. Until then, raise your fist in the air and all we are will rule the ruins! I love you fuer immer! See you soon.”
Raise Your Fist is due out in the U.S. and Canada on November 6 via Nuclear Blast Records and features guest appearances by Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister as well as Ozzy/Firewind guitarist Gus G. Elaborated DORO of the release “Most important to me are the power hymns ‘Raise Your Fist In The Air’ and ‘Victory.’ Both songs have been played live on our last tour and also made last year’s Wacken Open Air shake! For the diehard fans of German songs like ‘Für Immer’ [‘Forever’], there are two songs in the same vein: the sensitive and quite dark ‘Human Rights’ and the very emotional ‘Engel’ [‘Angel’]. There are also a lot of fast songs like ‘Little Headbanger’ and various fist-pumping ones featuring amazing guests like Gus G on ‘Last Man Standing’ which fans are sure to dig live. We also have a song that honors the late Ronnie James Dio called ‘Hero’ and another highlight called ‘It Still Hurts’ featuring Lemmy. The cover artwork has once again been created by British artist Geoffrey Gillespie who is a close friend and companion since he made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for his Triumph And Agony cover as the biggest album cover in the world. Since then, he’s done ten covers for us!”

5 Sister Sin – True Sound of the Underground (2010)
I don’t know who writes up the stickers that embrace the front of the CDs from Victory Records artist Sister Sin, but they always catch the eye of this 80’s metal fan. Sister Sin’s latest output True Sound of the Underground declares the CD as real street metal for fans of Judas Priest, Motley Crue, Scorpions & Accept. Typically, when I read this on the cover of a CD, I think to myself, “Yeah Right”, but in the case of Sister Sin, they completely nailed it. If you like 80’s metal, you are going to enjoy True Sound of the Underground!
My first taste of Sister Sin came with their 2008 release, Switchblade Serenades. I really like that CD a lot, so it was only natural that I was going to pick this disc up. Typically, I have an aversion to female hard rock singers, but this is not the case Sister Sin’s Liv. Liv often reminds me of Doro Pesch when she sings. She has the perfect metal voice, and one that really helps to drive these songs home. True Sound of the Underground blasts off with the opening numbers, “Sound of the Underground”, and “Outrage”. To my ears, these are the best songs on the album, but the all of the songs rock. If you are looking for some power ballads, you won’t find it here. The eleven tracks here are packed full of up tempo heavy metal. If anything, this album could have used a couple of slower tracks to break up the pace a little bit. A little more diversity could have given some of these songs a bigger impact. “Sound of the Underground” and “Outrage” are both awesome, as is the cover song “24-7”.
Most folks may not recognize “24-7” as a cover tune, but this is a Udo Dirkschneider tune from his 2005 CD, Mission No. X. I like Sister Sin’s version of the song better than Udo’s quite honestly. Liv’s voice is nowhere near as abrasive as Udo’s and this makes the lyrics much easier to understand.
Another highlight on the album is the headbanging tune “Heading for Hell”. This kick ass song will have you throwing your horns up in no time!
Overall, True Sound of the Underground doesn’t break any new ground musically, but if you are a fan of 80’s metal, you won’t care about that any more than I do. I believe Switchblade Serenades is a stronger disc than True Sound of the Underground, but this disc does not disappoint in the least. You can download the song “Outrage” for free at this link, and you can score a digital copy of True Sound of the Underground for only $5.o0 in the month of September here! Don’t miss this!

1 Sister Sin – Switchblade Serenades (Release Year – 2008)
Sister Sins’s new CD, “Switchblade Serenades” came with a huge sticker on the cover that said “Heavy Metal Album of the Year”. That is a pretty strong statement for a new band to make. They better have the tunes to back it up, in order to put something like that on their cover.
Typically I have a tendency to shy away from bands with a female lead singer. Once again another band quickly proves that I need to throw away all of my old notions against female singers.
Sister Sin’s singer Liv has a voice that falls somewhere in between Doro Pesch, Lita Ford and Brett Anderson from The Donnas. I like all of these singers, so I was quickly able to get into Sister Sin’s music.
Sister Sin’s style of sleaze metal sounds like a mixture of old Motley Crue, W.A.S.P., and maybe a dash of 80’s Ozzy Osbourne. What is most important to me is that the music rocks, and “Switchblade Serenades” does just that.
There are a bunch of good heavy rockers on this disc, with “One Out of Ten”, “On Parole” and “Beat the Street” being my current favorites. Sister Sin even pulls off a really cool cover of the Motorhead classic “Make My Day”.
“Switchblade Serenades” didn’t crack my top 15 in 2008, but if I heard this sooner, it probably would have. They are a definitely a band you should look into!
