0 SUPAGROUP’S AMPED! EPISODE 2 UP NOW!
SUPAGROUP has been making some of the most acclaimed and important rock records of the last decade. Their new album, “Hail! Hail!” (out 7/19/11) could prove to be their best one yet. Early reviews call Hail! Hail! “The perfect Rock record”, compare it to “Are You Experienced?, Back In Black, and Appetite For Destruction”, and say it’s “For fans of AC/DC, as usual”. They’ve toured everywhere and played with everyone. And with their new webseries Amped!, they’ve given visuals to some of the best (now fictionalized) stories they’ve seen, heard, and lived.

Supagroup has been delivering an amazing, explosive, and most of all fun live show for over a decade now. They’ve toured the world with many of their rock and roll heros, like Alice Cooper, who said this about Supagroup; “These boys are the first band I¹ve had open for me since Guns N’ Roses to get a standing ovation every night. It takes charisma to make it in rock and roll, and these kids have it in spades”.
Supagroup has made critically acclaimed, commercially successful Rock and Roll records, including the last one, Fire For Hire, which spawned two top forty hits with the songs “What’s Your Problem Now?”, and “Jailbait”. Their new record “Hail! Hail!” drops 7/19/11, and early reviews have placed it alongside such all-time greats as Jimi Hendrix’s Are You Experienced?, AC/DC’s Back In Black, and Guns N’ Roses Appetite For Destruction.
In a world that seems to have forgotten about rock and roll, Supagroup has proudly carried the flag, keeping the rock and roll fire alive and burning through the Rap Rock, Kiddie Pop, and American Idol era. In other words, they’ve done it all, haven’t they?
Says Supagroup’s front man and co-creator of Amped!, Chris Lee, “Actually, we wanted to do something different this time around. We wanted to promote Hail! Hail! in a new way, and we also wanted to show people what it’s really like to be in a rock band, right now. We have so many great stories from the road, and we live in such a crazy world where amazing stuff- both good and bad- happens to us all the time.”
“We thought, ‘wouldn’t it be great if we could tell some of the stories in a TV show?’ So that’s exactly what we did” says Supagroup lead guitarist, co-writer and star of Amped!, Benji Lee.
The brothers Lee recruited their old friend Anthony Dominici, a showrunner for TV series like Amazing Race, America’s Top Model, Extreme Home Makeover to direct Amped!

0 Preview Supagroup’s New Album, “Hail!, Hail!”
Supagroup’s sixth studio album, “Hail!, Hail!” will be released tomorrow, 4/26/2011. You can check out a preview of the album below! Yes, the music is better than the album art.
1 “Hail! Hail!” Supagroup preview Today At Noon CST.
Supagroup has posted the following update on their blog:
Hi folks,
It’s Supagroup here. Miss us? We missed you! To make up for our long and agonizing absence, we’re going to preview a bit of our new record “Hail! Hail! tomorrow, Friday March 5th at Noon CST. http://www.myspace.com/supagroup
Usually a band puts out a record and it’s at most one or two good songs and the rest a bunch of filler. We hate that! We would never do that to you. So, just to prove just how bad ass we are, we’re going to start by previewing the END of the record first – AKA “Side Four”. That’s right, “Hail! Hail!” is a four sided, double album of eighteen rock and roll gems. We’ll do the same kind of preview for “Side Three” next Friday, 3/12, “Side Two” on 3/19, and “Side One” on the 3/26.
I’m thinking we’ll leave the songs up for 24 hours, but if there’s enough interest, maybe we’ll leave them up for the weekend. Hope you like them! Remember to friend us on your facebook account here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Supagroup/106132465098, or if you’re into twitter, at twitter.com/supagroup.
We want to know what you think, so make a comment after you’ve heard.
Rockin’ til the end,
Supagroup

3 New Video – Supagroup – Born In Exile

Bob Vinyl’s favorite band, Supagroup have released a new video for their tune, Born in Exile. This tune is on their new CD, Fire for Hire.
5 Supagroup, YLD, Valient Thorr Concert Review
Supagroup, Year Long Disaster, and Valient Thorr took the stage at the Mad Hatter Club in Covington, KY on Thursday Night (11/15/07).
Going into this show, the only band’s music that I knew was by Supagroup. I recently picked up their Rules CD from 2005. I liked that CD so much, that I once I saw they were on the bill for this show, I could not miss this event. There were a couple of other local bands that opened the show, but I missed their sets. I did catch the last couple of songs by local metal band, Angels of Meth. I was fairly impressed by their guitarist. They will be a band that I may have to catch live again in the future.
Supagroup took the stage next, and proceeded to put on one excellent show. The band played several cuts off of their disc, Rules, and also off of the new CD, Fire For Hire. Benji Lee is a far better guitar player than I could have imagined. I was impressed by his guitar work all night. His brother, Chris Lee is a great front man, and knows how to get a crowd going. Supagroup is a very entertaining band to catch live. My only disappointment is that I haven’t seen them live before now. I won’t miss them play live again!
On a side note, it was bass player, Leif Swift’s birthday, so Happy Birthday Wishes go out to Leif!
After the show, the band took the time out to autograph my copy of the new CD, Fire For Hire and pose for a picture. You couldn’t ask for a better band to catch live. These guys appreciate their fans. It is a crime that they aren’t playing for larger crowds than what was at the Mad Hatter Thursday night.
I took a few videos of Supagroup playing live. The video below for Roll in Smokin is one of my favorite videos that I have ever shot!
Invincible Me
Hog Wild
Promised Land
Born In Exile
Roll In Smokin’
Year Long Disaster was next up on the stage. I must admit that I didn’t know any of the band’s music, but I did like their sound. Year Long Disaster has a 70’s stoner rock feel about them, that is similar to, but not the same as Black Sabbath. This band is only a three piece unit, so they have a big sound for a band with so few members. My batteries were running low in my Camera, and wanted to save a little bit for Valient Thorr, so I didn’t get any video of YLD. They are certainly worth checking out, so I am including their video below for their song, The Mad Shrew.
Valient Thorr was the final act of the night, and once again, I found myself in completely unfamiliar territory. The band has a seemingly cult following every where they go, so I was definitely not going to miss them. They refer to their fans as Thorriors, and if you go to a show, you are bound to see a few sleeveless jean jackets with a big Valient Thorr patch on the back.
The only way I can describe Valient Thorr is that they are like AC/DC mixed with Motorhead. If you could bottle the energy that this band has while playing live, you could power a small city. Lead singer, Valient looks like the bastard child of Billy Gibbons, and has a style that is all his own. This guy is completely insane live. I got a video of the band performing their song, Heatseeker, off of their new CD, Legend of the World.
Heetseeker
It was another great night of rock and roll in the Kentucky. It is a shame that only 50 people came out for this show.
3 Supagroup – Rules (Release Year – 2005)
Supagroup will soon have a new CD out called Fire for Hire in 2007. I decided to check out Supagroup’s Sophomore effort Rules.
I haven’t listened to Supagroup before, so I didn’t know what to expect.
After listening to Rules a couple of times, I can safely say they fit into the Classic Rock mold. They have a party rock sound that is similar to, but not the same as AC/DC.
This disc is filled with high speed to mid-tempo, 3 chord mayhem that will get you on your feet rocking.
Let’s Go (Get Wasted) is about as big of a party anthem as you are ever going to hear.
Other highlights on this disc include the bluesy, “I’m Gonna Change“, The infectious “Ready To Go”, “Bastard” and “It Takes Balls”.
If you are a fan of AC/DC, Rhino Bucket or Airbourne, Supagroup may be a band for you to check out!
Rules is a solid slab of feel good, hard rock and will whet your appetite for the new disc, Fire for Hire coming at the end of September.
