U2.com today confirms that the U2 360 Tour will open at the Nou Camp Stadium in Barcelona on 30th June. The U2 360 Tour is sponsored by BlackBerry(R) and is the band’s first stadium outing since the Vertigo Tour 05/06 and follows the release of their acclaimed album, No Line On The Horizon. Their 12th studio album, No Line On The Horizon is already number 1 in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Belgium, Finland, Japan and the Czech Republic with further chart positions to be announced this week.
Produced by Live Nation Global Touring, U2 360 will visit 14 cities across Europe including dates in Milan, Gothenburg, Amsterdam, Paris, Nice, Dublin, Chorzow, Berlin, Gelsenkirchen, London, Sheffield and Glasgow before finishing at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on 22nd August. The European tour will be followed by dates in North America beginning at Chicago’s Soldier Field on September 12th, 2009.
Long-time U2 Show Director Willie Williams has worked again with architect Mark Fisher (ZooTV, PopMart, Elevation and Vertigo), to create an innovative 360 design which affords an unobstructed view for the audience. U2 360 also marks the first time a band has toured in stadiums with such a unique and original structure (which can be viewed at U2.com).
“U2 has always been at their best when surrounded by their audience, this staging takes a giant leap forward. With 85 percent of the tickets priced at less than $95.00, general admission floor tickets priced at $55.00 and at least 10,000 tickets at every venue priced at the $30.00 price range, we have worked very hard to ensure that U2 fans can purchase a great priced ticket with a guaranteed great view,” says U2′s manager Paul McGuinness.
Arthur Fogel, Chief Executive Officer Global Touring/Chairman – Global Music Live Nation commented: “Following the overwhelming worldwide success of the Vertigo tour where every available ticket was sold, there is tremendous anticipation for this tour and to experience this revolutionary production. As usual fans will not be disappointed.”
Commenting on the new relationship between U2 and BlackBerry-maker Research In Motion (RIM), Paul McGuinness added: “This tour announcement marks the first stage of a relationship and shared vision between RIM and U2 that we expect will lead to new and innovative ways to enhance the mobile music experience on the BlackBerry platform for U2 fans. We look forward to sharing more details as the relationship unfolds.”
In keeping with their long-standing tradition, U2 will welcome a number of different support acts to the tour including Glasvegas, Elbow, Kaiser Chiefs, Snow Patrol and Black Eyed Peas with additional artists to be announced.
Tickets for U2 360 performances in Milan and Gothenburg go on sale this Friday, March 13th. Tickets for the Amsterdam performance go on sale this Saturday, March 14th. Full details of all dates and on-sale information as well as a virtual model of the unique production and seating positions can be found on a dedicated microsite at U2.com. As usual, existing subscribers to U2′s official website u2.com will have an opportunity to purchase tickets in advance of the public on sale date.

AC/DC take their hugely successful Black Ice World Tour to Europe. Dates begin on February 18 in Oslo and conclude in Glasgow on June 30 (see below for full itinerary). AC/DC kicked off their Black Ice World Tour in late October 2008, crisscrossing North America and garnering raves from critics along the way. The Dallas Morning News raved “This is real rock n roll,” while The Boston Globe exclaimed “AC/DC is the greatest band ever.”
The Black Ice World Tour was given the ‘Major Tour of the Year’ award at the 20th Annual Pollstar Concert Industry Awards. The awards ceremony took place in Los Angeles on January 30th at Nokia Theatre.
Released globally on October 20, 2008, Black Ice was recently certified Double Platinum in the U.S. Black Ice is AC/DC’s first new album in over eight years and it’s evident the band is still an incredible force in rock.
Black Ice made history debuting at #1 on album charts in 29 countries and also has the distinction of being Columbia Records’ biggest debut album (since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales data for Billboard in March of 1991). Black Ice has been certified Multi Platinum in eight countries, including the US, Australia, Canada, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Germany and the Czech Republic. Additionally Black Ice has achieved Platinum status in twelve countries (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, UK, Argentina, Singapore and New Zealand) and Gold status in four countries (Netherland, Spain, Poland and Brazil). With over 6.5 million copies of Black Ice shipped worldwide, combined with over 5.5 million in catalog sold this year, AC/DC have surpassed The Beatles as the #1 selling catalog artist in the US for 2008. In the US, Black Ice is being sold exclusively at Walmart, Sam’s Club, and www.acdc.com.

Les Claypool will embark on the “The Oddity Faire: A Mutated Mini Fest” tour and will take over North America starting March 4, 2009. This tour is in support of yet another brilliant work of art, OF FUNGI AND FOE releasing March 17, 2009 on Prawn Song Records.
“OF FUNGI AND FOE” is the expansion of material Claypool has recorded over the past few years for the video game “Mushroom Men” and the motion picture “Pig Hunt”. Being inspired by these 2 projects Claypool decided to keep creating and turn it into an album. The song Mushroom Men on this release is a more in depth version of the theme song from the video game. Additionally a jam session with Gogol Bordello’s charismatic front-man Eugene Hutz turned into the track “Bite Out Of Life”. The band is comprised of Les Claypool on bass/vocals, Paulo Baldi on Drums (Cake), Mike Dillon on Percussion (Ani Difranco), and Sam Bass on Cello (Deadweight).

Atlantic recording group Shinedown will kick off 2009 with an eight-country, European tour starting on January 21st at London’s O2 Academy Islington. The Jacksonville, FL-based band will make stops in Paris, Amsterdam and Stockholm for the Radio Bandit Awards among numerous other cities.
Beginning with the Punk To Crunk Festival in Lafayette, LA, on February 23rd, the group returns for another run of U.S. tour dates (see attached itinerary). More shows will be announced as the band expects to be on the road for the rest of the year in support of The Sound Of Madness. Fans can check http://www.shinedown.com for the latest tour updates and information.
In other news, Shinedown has landed their second consecutive #1 hit at rock radio with “Second Chance.” The band’s run of hit singles from their first three albums makes them one of the most successful rock bands of the decade. Shinedown launched “Second Chance” with a blistering performance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno this past fall. The song’s companion music video made its debut on MSN.com at the start of the new year and has been added to FUSE’s Rock & Alternative Countdown shows. “Second Chance” goes to Top 40 radio later this month.
Shinedown’s latest album, The Sound Of Madness, was produced by multiple Grammy Award-winner Rob Cavallo (Kid Rock, Green Day, My Chemical Romance). Upon its release it became the band’s biggest debut of their career landing at # 8 it’s first week on the charts. The album has remained on the Billboard Top 200 album chart for 16 consecutive weeks. Both singles from The Sound of Madness: “Devour” and “Second Chance” have reached #1 on the Billboard Active and Mediabase Rock charts.

In other great Fleetwood Mac news, the iconographic ‘RUMOURS’ CD (certified Diamond (R) signifying sales of over 10 million units by the RIAA) is scheduled to be re-released as part of a special CD/DVD boxed set on Reprise Records in conjunction with the tour dates. Papa Roach will release their forthcoming fifth studio album, Metamorphosis on March 24th through DGC/Interscope Records. Co-Produced by Jay Baumgardner and Papa Roach with additional co-production by James Michael on six of the tracks, the new album conjures a vicious, vibrant intensity that is raw, relevant and ready to rock. The multi-platinum selling, Grammy-nominated Northern California quartet is back with their album of the decade.
Papa Roach is Jacoby Shaddix (vocals), Tobin Esperance (bass), Jerry Horton (guitar) and new member (ex-Unwritten Law’s) Tony Palermo (drums). Since bursting onto the scene in 2000, the band has toured the world and churned out Top 10 multi-format Billboard hits including “Last Resort,” “Forever,” “Getting Away With Murder,” “Scars” and “To Be Loved,” three of those on the last release. There is no shortage of classic songs on Metamorphosis either. The album’s first radio single, “Lifeline,” combines an AC/DC-style fret run with an undeniable chorus.
Fans got their first taste of the new songs from the album during their live performances on Crue Fest 2008 and with a free download of the viral video release for the song “Hollywood Whore”which the band released in November 2008 as a gift to long-time fans. The video has had more than a million views.
Metamorphosis captures Papa Roach’s incendiary live energy on record. The album engages a full-on rock n’ roll assault fueled by the band’s punky raw energy, catchy guitar riffs and irrefutable melodies. They have delivered the most entertaining album of their career; it’s the culmination of their devotion to performing live and always giving their fans what they want while staying true to themselves.
Leading up to album release, Papa Roach will embark on a national tour alongside Buckcherry, Avenged Sevenfold and Saving Abel, kicking off on January 28th in Salt Lake City. This follows a half year of non-stop touring in front of 700,000 people that included the main stage on Motley Crue’s Crue Fest and a recent autumn run with Staind and Seether.
“We bring it live,” says Shaddix. “When you come to one of our shows, it’s like the last tribal experience. Playing shows every night is what we’re built for. We make a club feel like an arena and we make an arena feel like a club. We’re going to tour our guts out and bring our music to fans all over the world.”

Burn Halo, featuring former Eighteen Visions singer/songwriter, will be releasing their self-titled debut March 10 on Rawkhead Records (through Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group).
The album’s first single, “Dirty Little Girl,” which features a guest appearance by Avenged Sevenfold’s Synyster Gates, is already getting spins on radio stations around the country, and is in regular rotation on Sirius XM Satellite Radio’s “Octane” station. A video for the track was recently shot in at the Slide Bar in Orange County, CA with Nate Weaver (Against Me!, Taking Back Sunday) at the director’s helm, and will hit the TV and Internet airwaves within the coming weeks.
Anyone who was watching the Dallas Cowboys/Baltimore Ravens football game on the NFL Network on Saturday, December 20 might have heard another song from the album, “Our House,” during the broadcast. The track will also be heard during a recap of the college football season for “College Football Now” on the NFL Network, which will air this week and weekend, and will be streamed simultaneously on the station’s website. Fans should check local listings for details.
Never losing momentum after the break-up, Hart landed a label deal with Island/Def Jam and began working almost immediately with songwriter Zac Maloy on what would eventually become BURN HALO’s debut album. Between May and October of 2007, Hart made week-long treks to Tulsa, OK to write and demo with Maloy. “I knew that I wanted a clear-cut rock ‘n’ roll band, which is something I had not had in the past,” Hart says of the music.
“My vision and my brand of rock ‘n’ roll without having to compromise on any of the songs or any of the material. I wanted to make a very straightforward rock album, something that had commercial appeal, but also something that had a classic, vintage mid-‘80s throwback vibe to it.”
Hart recorded the album from October to November of 2007 with Maloy as producer, laying down the tracks with an army of skilled studio musicians, including Nickelback drummer Daniel Adair, former Jane’s Addiction bassist Chris Chaney, guitarist Neil Tiemann (who now tours with “American Idol” winner David Cook), and Avenged Sevenfold’s Synyster Gates (who appears on the “Dirty Little Girl” and “Anejo”).
In the studio, Maloy was particularly helpful in getting the best possible vocal performance out of Hart. As he explains, “I really felt like he was able to grasp what I wanted to do and where I wanted to take this. From a producer standpoint I feel like he really knocked it out of the park. As a vocalist he was able to bring a lot out of me instead of having me go through the motions and just get the part right, emoting a little more than I have in the past. He was really able to pull a lot of character out of my voice.”
“I think this is a real statement album for me,” Hart continues. “Anyone who is familiar with me and my past is going to be able to get this record. They’re going to understand why I made this record and that this is the record I’ve been wanting to make.”
After the album was completed in early 2008, Island/Def Jam elected not to release it, leaving Hart with the tough job of finding a new home for his project. Nothing felt quite right, though, so BURN HALO’s manager Bret Bair formed his own label Rawkhead Rekords and partnered with Warner Music Group to release the record. Hart spent much of 2008 finalizing the line-up of his touring band–which he hopes will help write and record BURN HALO’s next albums–with Aaron Boheler on bass, Joey Sin on lead guitar, Allen Wheeler on rhythm guitar, and Ryan Folden on drums.
BURN HALO’s new ensemble has already been racking up tour dates with bands such as Avenged Sevenfold and their next jaunt will be with Escape The Fate and Black Tide starting February 5 in Pomona, CA. A summer tour is already in the works and should be announced in the coming weeks.

The tour begins January 16th, 2009, in Milwaukee, WI, and crisscrosses the country before finishing up in Utica, NY, on February 27th. Sevendust and Skindred will appear as support.

NEW SINGLE “YOU BETTER PRAY” HITS ALTERNATIVE RADIO AND MTV2;
RJA FANS GET FREE DOWNLOAD OF ALBUM TRACK “PEN & PAPER” ON OFFICIAL WEBSITE
SECOND VIRGIN ALBUM LONELY ROAD, RELEASED FEB. 3RD
For Virgin Records platinum-plus rockers THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS, a busy holiday season is only getting busier in the two-month run-up to the much-anticipated February 3, 2009 release of the band’s second album, LONELY ROAD.
The band played early Secret Santa to their worldwide fan community by posting the new album track “Pen & Paper” as a free download at the RedJumpsuitAlliance.com website, adding a stream of the song to MySpace.com, and letting viral word of mouth do the rest.
The album’s kick-off single and video, the righteous rocker “You Better Pray,” has already been streamed nearly 350,000 times on the RJA Myspace.com page, as it builds national airplay and climbs the alternative and modern rock radio charts.
Three months’ worth of live dates have now been finalized, including year-end holiday celebrations presented by America’s greatest rock radio stations; a month of headlining dates through the south and Midwest (including a stop in their hometown Jacksonville, Florida); and a series of gigs in Southeast Asia and Australia.
On Monday, December 15th, the final MTV2: UNLEASHED All-Day Premiere of 2008 will be “You Better Pray.” The video will run on MTV2’s online homepage and on MTV2’s cablecast throughout the day, at the top of each video hour and in front of the channel’s regular programming. Promo spots will feature teaser footage from the song’s video clip for a week prior to premiere day.
THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS recorded LONELY ROAD, at the Valley Village, CA, studio of super-producer Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Hoobastank, P.O.D., Less Than Jake, Daughtry, Seether, All-American Rejects). The album follows up DON’T YOU FAKE IT, the band’s breakthrough debut, which charted for 62 weeks on Billboard’s Top 200, scanning over a million copies in the U.S. to date, and selling more than 2.1 million copies of its singles.
Consisting of lead singer Ronnie Winter, guitarist/pianist/singer Duke Kitchens, bass/singer Joey Westwood and drummer/singer Jon Wilkes, RJA’s extraordinary address of domestic violence in their first single, “Face Down,” signaled the close relationship the band would keep with their fans as they grew from local sensations to platinum international hit-makers. “Everybody loves the band ‘cause they know we are real and not contrived, and know the trailer that we started jamming in when we were 15 years old,” Ronnie Winter told a CrusherMagazine.com interviewer during his brief downtime at home in Florida, just following completion of the new album. “The cops had to come shut us down. I still talk to those cops when I see them on the streets. It’s one whole long story that has taken eight or nine years, so our community has been with us the whole time.
Accordingly, since the release of DON’T YOU FAKE IT, RJA has also been an active force for a wide array of charitable organizations and social causes, including teen suicide prevention (including co-headlining the US Take Action Tour with My Chemical Romance and Rise Against), mental health parity and a strong commitment to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, teaming up with their label Virgin Records, to raise funds.
In addition, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Guardian Angel Foundation has been formed as an umbrella group to support under-funded high school band programs, to promote and enhance student musical development; support individuals affected by domestic violence, to break the cycle of abuse; and contribute to research that focuses on management of acute hyperglycemia in hospitalized patients. “We’ve honestly always felt blessed, and the best way to give back is to…give back! Don’t talk about it. Just do it. So our motto of, ‘Doing good for no good reason’ will always apply to this specific band, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus,” Winter said.

Breakout rock band Saving Abel will join Seether as openers for Nickelback on their North American tour beginning February 25th in Nashville, TN (full schedule below). Saving Abel’s largest outing to date will hit arenas in over 30 cities across the continent. Tickets go on sale beginning Dec. 5th at www.LiveNation.com.
“We’re thrilled to be opening for Nickelback. It’s crazy, a year ago we were playing small bars and clubs around Memphis and now we’re touring the country in a bus and will be playing with one of the biggest touring rock bands in arenas,” said Saving Abel frontman Jared Weeks.
Saving Abel have been on the road non-stop since the March, 2008 release of their self titled debut from Virgin records and have played with rock heavy weights such as Buckcherry, Avenged Sevenfold, Puddle of Mudd and Shinedown. The band has enjoyed impressive success with their chart-topping, multi-format smash debut single “Addicted,” which hit #1 at mainstream rock radio, spent 11 consecutive weeks at #2 on the active rock chart and reached #7 at alternative radio. At press time, the track is the most played song of 2008 at the active rock format. “Addicted” found a whole new life in July when it impacted Top 40 radio. The run away hit is now sitting in the top 10 at the format and is top 15 at Hot AC. While “Addicted” is topping the pop charts, Saving Abel’s second single “18 Days,” a huge rock ballad dedicated to the troops, is heating up at rock radio where it is already top 10 at active rock and top 20 at alternative radio. Videos for both tracks have witnessed major play across all video channels including MTV2, VH1, Fuse and Music Choice where “Addicted” is currently the #1 played video an their “Hit List” channel.
Saving Abel continues to reach new heights on the sales charts as well. The album spent 3 consecutive weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart before debuting on the Billboard 200 in July. It has sold over 240,000 copies to date. ”Addicted” hit #20 on the digital singles chart and is approaching platinum success with over 800,000 singles sold thus far.
Saving Abel – named after the Biblical sibling of Cain – was formed by Jared Weeks and guitarist Jason Null in 2004 in their hometown of Corinth, Mississippi. Now based in Memphis, Tennessee, the band’s lineup includes guitarist Scott Bartlett, bassist Eric Taylor and drummer Blake Dixon. Combining influences of southern rock, hard rock and alternative music, the band was first heard on a 2005 EP, produced by Skidd Mills (12 Stones, Saliva, Submersed).

America’s most diverse hard rock festival just keeps getting better. That’s because national recording artists Saliva and Tantric have joined the already impressive Rock Gone Wild lineup. Classic Glam rockers Tigertailz will also bring their unique presence to the festival. Rock Gone Wild is slated for August 20-23, 2009 in Algona, Iowa. Tickets are available now by visiting www.rockgonewild.com.
Mainstream rock stars Saliva are no strangers to the Billboard charts. As the band prepares to release their new album Cinco Diablo on Island later this month, Saliva will look to repeat past album success. Five albums, platinum records and many sold-out shows later, Saliva promises an in-your-face set on the main stage at Rock Gone Wild. Saliva is Josey Scott, Wayne Swinny, Dave Novotny, Paul Crosby and Jonathan Montoya.
Tantric rock harder with each passing year. Forming in 1999, the band has released three albums, reaching the much-coveted platinum status. Fans love the band’s self-titled debut, featuring the hit single “Breakdown.” Around for about a decade, Tantric has evolved and now embraces a heavier sound and invites an active pit at shows. The band released The End Begins earlier this year on their new label Silent Majority. Tantric is Hugo Ferreira, Richie Monica, Joe Pessia, Erik Leonhardt and Marcus Ratzenboeck.
Tigertailz bring an international flair to Rock Gone Wild. The Wales-based band formed in the 1980s and instantly gained fans, thanks in part to their image. Heavy make-up and wild hair became the calling card of Tigertailz. It doesn’t hurt that the band creates songs with memorable hooks. Tigertailz has released eight albums, with Bezerk spawning the band’s signature tune “Love Bomb Baby.” Tigertailz are Kim Hooker, Jay Pepper and Matt Blakout.
Thousands are expected to attend the inaugural Rock Gone Wild festival, bringing significant revenue to the state of Iowa. Bands already announced for Rock Gone Wild include Puddle of Mudd, Skid Row, Kix, Great White, Hardcore Superstar, Lizzy Borden, Dangerous Toys, Helix, Saigon Kick, Rhino Bucket and Junkyard with many more to come!
Rock Gone Wild will take place at the Freedom Park festival grounds, located at 2507- 160th Avenue in Algona, Iowa.
If you build it, they will rock.
The Backyard Babies have checked in with a big news update including the announcement that the band will be supporting Danko Jones – who, ironically, opened for the band on their own UK tour some seven years ago.
The band said “We are now happy to announce that the Backyard Babies will be supporting Danko Jones on their tour in central Europe which starts on March 20. Check below for Tour Dates!

BAND RETURNS HOME IN SUPPORT OF
ALL HOPE IS GONE
2009 MARKS 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF
BAND’S LANDMARK DEBUT ALBUM
Grammy-award winning hard rockers Slipknot announced today their first U.S. headline tour in support of their 1 album All Hope Is Gone. The tour, which kicks off on January 23rd in St. Paul, MN, will hit 33 cities across the country, and include an historic stop at New York’s Madison Square Garden, a first for the band. Coheed and Cambria and labelmates Trivium round out the bill.
Frontman Corey Taylor says of the trek, “2009 is the 10 year anniversary of the world’s first taste of this band. To celebrate we are coming back out with a killer tour, a couple great bands and the same ferocity with which we attack life. We want all of our maggots to come and celebrate with us, because if it wasn’t for you we wouldn’t have been here for 10 years. Get ready for chaos!”
A special iTunes presale will start on December 3 and be open to those who took part in the band’s digital album presale earlier this year. Internet presales via Ticketmaster, will commence on December 5, and the majority of dates will go on sale December 6th.
The All Hope Is Gone World Tour marks Slipknot’s first headline run in America since the release of the album in August. The special will feature exclusive live tracks from their current tour as well as candid interviews and other surprises.

This sensational co-headlining package is certainly among the strongest of recent years and will take the two bands through countries such as France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Luxemburg, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Austria, Hungary and Italy. Fans can look forward to dynamic power metal at its very best, especially since both groups will also present thoroughly exciting new releases to accompany the tour. Saxon are considered one of the most charismatic acts of today’s metal business. Their latest album release, Into The Labyrinth, out on 12 January 2009 (Germany: 9 January 2009, U.S.: 13 January) via Steamhammer/SPV proves that Saxon mark 2009 haven’t lost any of their expressiveness, enthusiasm and inspiration. Along with numerous classics, vocalist Biff Byford & Co. will present the strongest tracks from their new album during the tour, expertly combining present and past.
For Iced Earth, this will be the first full European tour since the return of frontman, Matt Barlow. “I am pleased Matt is back,” explains guitarist and songwriter Jon Schaffer. “We are brothers with a long, meaningful relationship behind us” The band will present songs from their current album, The Crucible Of Man, and for spring Schaffer has also announced the release of a new DVD.

Billboard.com is reporting that Nickelback will begin a North American tour Feb. 25 in Nashville in support of its just-released Roadrunner album “Dark Horse.” Tickets go on sale Dec. 5 via LiveNation.com, but Nickelback fan club members get first crack on Friday (Nov. 28).

Asked recently by Billboard why NIckelback opted to wait to tour until next year, frontman Chad Kroeger said, “We’ve been bitten too many times by going out too early. I’m always adamant about making sure there’s at least a true rock song from the band that’s gone to radio, just to give a more diverse selection of music for people to listen to.
“We’ve been consulting with some people; I’m interested to see someone else’s take on what this band could look like live, and we’ve had some real interesting stuff come back,” he continued. “I think we’re gonna try some stuff that, believe it or not, no one has ever done live before.”
