QUEENSRYCHE premiere new video for “Redemption” and kick off European tour on October 12
After the release of their self-titled album in June, legendary Seattle rockers Queensryche will be back on tour in Europe presenting the latest addition to the band’s multi-platinum musical catalog and their new front man Todd La Torre live to their European fans. “Queensryche” was mixed and mastered by famed Queensryche producer James “Jimbo” Barton who is known for working on the band’s classics “Operation: Mindcrime” and “Empire”. The album marks the debut of the lineup comprised of Todd La Torre (Vocals), Michael Wilton (Guitars), Parker Lundgren (Guitars), Eddie Jackson (Bass) and Scott Rockenfield (Drums).
As a special teaser for the upcoming European tour the band just finished a video for the album track “Redemption” with scenes from the studio recordings and first US shows with Todd.
Check it out below!
As previously announced, the band also recently filmed a ‘mini movie’ to the tracks, “Spore” “MidnightLullaby”, “A World Without” and “X2.” The four tracks will provide the score to a 10-plus minute story, dubbed “Queensryche: Ad Lucem”. MINDCAGE RELEASES EPIC VIDEO FOR “THE HUMAN RACE;”
OUR OWN DEVICES DROPS TUESDAY 9/17
The official video for “The Human Race” from Florida-based progressive metallers Mindcage is available for viewing below!
The full album, OUR OWN DEVICES, drops Tuesday, September 17.
A dark and powerful short movie, the video introduces the character of Arabella Vash, a young woman who exists in a utilitarian clockwork society. She is becoming empowered by visions and dreams, and about to start her journey to find the band of rebels, The One Constant (portrayed by the band), that she will lead. “The Human Race” is her awakening, and call to power.
In search of an appropriate post apocalyptic steam punk setting for their video, Mindcage chose to film in the historical district of their hometown of Pensacola FL. With the vision, creativity and costuming skills of Airship Isabella [http://airshipisabella.com/], an authentic and innovative steam-punk troupe from New Orleans, Mindcage was able to convey their vision of The One Constant and the dystopian world in which they live.
Jason Thomsen directed and edited “The Human Race.” He recently served as assistant director on “Girl from Iceland” (a Kinematic Entertainment Production). The track features vocals by Hydrogyn’s Julie Westlake.
OUR OWN DEVICES is mixed by rock legend Michael Wagener (Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Alice Cooper, Megadeth, Dokken, and Overkill). The core members of Mindcage – Dietrick Hardwick (writer, guitarist), Brian Howell (bass) and Craig Nudo (drums) – have been connected personally and through music for almost thirty years. Jeff Hignite, a recent but important addition, brought not only lyrical contribution but also his powerhouse vocals.

Dangerdog Music Reviews: 5/5 stars
Our Own Devices is quite impressive: between the idea, lyrics, vocal arrangements, brisk guitar, and accomplished arrangements, it easily stands in the fine tradition of conceptual progressive metal albums like Queensryche’s Operation Mindcrime. Very recommended.
OUR OWN DEVICES will be available on the band’s website www.mindcagemusic.com,
iTunes https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-human-race-single/id692323537, amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F7CDATY and at your favorite record store.
‘Reject The Silence’, the new video from modern metal band PAINSIDE, can be viewed below. The clip was directed by Alex Medeiros and the song comes off the band’s new EP “Build Your Fiction”.
Painside recently released a new EP called ‘Build Your Fiction’, featuring ‘Break The Hive’, ‘Reject The Silence’ and ‘A Caustic Romance’. The new effort was mixed at AudioHammer Studios by Mark Lewis (Trivium, All That Remains, Unearth, The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel). It also features a remastered version of 2010′s ‘Unbreakable’ (Ronys Torres UFC 109 theme), featuring Jean Dolabella (ex-Sepultura) on drums, as a bonus track. The songs are available for streaming on www.soundcloud.com/painside .
Gone are the dark lyrics from the first album; it’s time to talk about life under a new light. This represents a new beginning: a new line-up, new logo, new symbol and marks the start of a new fiction built by the band. Painside’s first album, ‘Dark World Burden’, was released worldwide in 2010 by the swedish label, Inner Wound Recordings, featuring guest vocals by Chris Bolthendal (Grave Digger), Renato Tribuzy and Gus Monsanto (Symbolica, Adagio, Revolution Renaissance).
Build Your Fiction will be released October 7th

Redlight King’s new album, Irons In the Fire is due out September 10th. The new album features the songs “Redemption” from the Iron Man 3 soundtrack, and the band’s latest single “Born To Rise”. Check out the band’s new video for “Born To Rise” below!
Back to the 80’s! That’s not only the mission behind SINNER’s upcoming album “Touch Of Sin 2” (released on August 30th), so their new video clip “Don’t Believe A Word” takes you back to the times of DeLorean, Indiana Jones, Rambo, video recorders and Miami Vice.
For “Touch Of Sin 2″ the band took 11 of their classic tracks from the 80′s (from their long out of print cult albums “Dangerous Charm”, “Touch Of Sin” and “Comin’ Out Fighting”) and did an extensive re-recording. In addition, 3 brand new songs were produced to end up on the record.
Don’t judge a book by a cover. That is the first thing I think of when I listen to North Carolina Alt rockers, Another Lost Year. You see, the winged skull on the cover of Another Lost year’s album Better Days would have me believe that ALY is a metal band. I would not consider ALY’s music metal, but alternative hard rock more in vain of Candlebox, Live and Three Doors Down. They might be a little heavier than those bands, but when I listen to Better Days, these are the bands that come to mind.
Another Lost Year’s music has grown on me quite a bit over the last few weeks. There are several songs that could easily be radio singles on this album and two ( “War On The Inside” and “Writing On The Wall”) already have been.
Clinton Cunanan has a pretty solid voice, and his voice help propel my favorite tracks on Better Days including “War On The Inside”, “Broken” and “Runaway”. I don’t like it when they tread into screamo territory, but there is very little of that on this album.
Better Days also features a great duet with singer Lish Rimer on the song “Angels”. This song ought to be a big hit for Another Lost year. Check it out below!
Overall, Better Days is a solid album, and will likely get a lot of mileage on the radio for ALY. If you check out one new band in 2013, you could do a lot worse than Another Lost Year. Check them out on facebook at this link.

Heaven & Earth (guitarist Stuart Smith, singer Joe Retta, bassist Chuck Wright, drummer Richie Onori, and keyboardist Arlan Schierbaum) have just released a video for their second single and power ballad, “I Don’t Know What Love Is” from their critically acclaimed album Dig (Quarto Valley Records), which is available on iTunes now. The video — directed by Glen Wexler (Van Halen, Black Sabbath,ig Michael Jackson) and produced by Jeremy Alter and Meiert Avis of Pusher Media (U2, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, and Evanescence)–was exclusively premiered on www.guitarplayer.com and www.melodicrock.com this past Friday (July 26th).
The video — featuring special guest appearances by actors Angelina Vitale, Derek DuChesne and Tiffany Phillips — continues the story of two lovers trying to connect throughout time. “I Don’t Know What Love Is” is the follow-up to the success of Heaven & Earth‘s first video for “No Money, No Love,” which has received more than 500,000 plays to date and can be viewed below.
Says guitarist Stuart Smith, “I’m very proud of both the song and this new video by Glen Wexler. We released ‘No Money, No Love’ as the first single and video as we wanted to establish ourselves as a rock band that does the occasional ballad, not a ballad band that does the occasional rock song. For me “I Don’t Know What Love Is” was always the main hit from Dig.”
What do you get when combine the talents of Billy Sheehan, Mike Portnoy & Richie Kotzen? One badass band called The Winery Dogs.

Dallas based hard rock outfit Brand New Machine‘s new album, “The Devil Made Me Do It”, hit stores this week via Epochal Artist Records/Capitol Music Group. To celebrate the album’s release the group are currently streaming the song “Dust The Sky” online at http://altsds.co/0uz5. The group have also announced the addition of drummer Seven Antonopoulos, formerly of Opiate for the Masses, to the Brand New Machine ranks.
“We would like to welcome drummer Seven Antonopoulos to Brand New Machine. Seven is an incredible drummer and his style fits in perfectly with what we do,” said bassist Wiley Oliver. “It’s hard to compare us to other rock acts today because a lot of rock albums all sound the same. So many bands come and go chasing trends, but we’ve never jumped on any bandwagons. This music is a lifestyle and we wear it like a badge.”
Brand New Machine‘s new album, “The Devil Made Me Do It”, was recorded at Validus Recording Studios in Los Angeles, CA under the watchful eye of producer/mixer Ryan Greene (Alice Cooper, Cheap Trick). The album takes the band’s hard-living lifestyle and mixes it with arena ready rock anthems to create a soundtrack for debauchery. Brand New Machine’s explosive live show has earned them countless opening slots for national acts including recent overseas dates with Guns N’ Roses. Brand New Machine‘s video for the song “Girls Like You” can be seen below.

GOTTHARD – Radio-Bagpipe Version “YIPPIE AYE YAY”
The perfect song for the start of the summer.
With their album Firebirth, released in 2012, the Swiss rockers stormed the charts, toured the entire world and received a platinum award!
Right on time for the start of the summer, we present you «Yippie Aye Yay», the fourth single from this successful album, in a special radio-bagpipe version.
This feel-good song is the perfect choice for the upcoming months which are promising to be really hot.
At the start of “Yippie Aye Yay” you can hear the bagpipes of the Wild Boar Clan.
You can watch the video which Gotthard directed themselves here:
The song rocks from the very first sound and rolls without stopping throughout this enchanting track. „come what may,…. shake the day,… are you coming?
What are we waiting for?
At the moment they are fervently writing songs for the new album, planned to be released in early 2014. But Gotthard just can’t live without any stage appearances in 2013 and in order not to let the fans wait too long, the band will rock – besides a few shows in Germany – the Swiss Rock’n’Road exclusively on August 10th 2013 in Bellinzona!

Rock band Heaven & Earth premiered their live performance of “Victorious” with ArtistDirect this week. The hard hitting performance was shot at the band’s unforgettable record release concert celebrating their new album DIG (available on iTunes and Amazon) at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood, CA.
“Victorious” builds anticipation with Stuart Smith’s ripping guitar solo only to be quickly accompanied by bassist Chuck Wright, drummer Richie Onori, and the dominating keyboards of Ed Roth. The pinnacle is reached when front man Joe Retta effortlessly nails the vocals leaving classic rock purists and fans in awe.
Check out the clip for “Victorious” below.
Synth heavy, hard hitting, and filled with lyrics that give the listener pause, creating thought, Pretty Maids latest album, Motherland is a solid, enjoyable effort from this Danish rock band. While their last effort, 2010’s Pandemonium was a harder edgier affair, Motherland is a strong musical journey and a great next chapter for this band’s long history book.
On first listen, it may appear that Pretty Maids are leaning more toward the album oriented rock melody in their song crafting. Yet, after a few more spins, it is easier to tell that this disc is still based on a solid foundation of shredding guitars, strong and steady stomp drumbeats, and massive guitar solos. Overall Motherland is a little mellower than its predecessor, but it still delivers the hard rock hits.
Motherland is one of those atypical albums where the disc must be played through a few times for the whole effect to take hold. On first listen, I thought that Motherland was a decent record with the stronger songs placed at the end of the album. Then I played it through a few more times only to learn that the songs at the beginning of the record were pretty decent as well.
Loaded with great hooks and shredding solos, Pretty Maids have delivered a fine piece with Motherland. Lead singer Ronnie Atkins’ voice is in top form throughout the record, never wavering or weakening. Ken Hammer continues to deliver on guitar with some exceptional work and fantastic solos. And while the keyboards from Morten Sandager receive plenty of spotlights, they never overtake the music entirely, allowing for a perfect blend of synthesizer, guitar, drums, bass, and vocals. It creates a synthesis of symphonic sound parading through the eardrums with delight.
Motherland reminds me of great synth-rock albums from the 80s, balanced with mid-tempo melodies, hard rockers, and a ballad or two thrown in for good measure. Think Styx, Trixter, Europe, or Winger for a good point of reference. And while Motherland may not be as strong a release as their last record, it is still a decent album worthy of investing your listening time into. Pretty Maids may be heading in a mellower direction, but that doesn’t make them any less grand. And given enough time (and plays) Motherland may overtake any of the bands releases in the last ten years as the record to listen to.
