Scorpions New CD and Artwork
According to a posting on the web site of the official SCORPIONS French fan club Crazyscorps, the German hard rock veterans have set “Humanity – Hour 1” as the title of their new album, due in Europe on May 14 via BMG.
SCORPIONS arrived in Los Angeles in October to begin recording their new album with songwriter/producer Desmond Child. Child, who has worked with such high-profile pop/rock artists as AEROSMITH, BON JOVI, ALICE COOPER, KISS, RICKY MARTIN, CHER, MICHAEL BOLTON and BONNIE TYLER, recently worked with Michael Beinhorn, Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman as co-producer on MEAT LOAF’s “Bat Out Of Hell 3: The Monster Is Loose” CD, and has also been mentioned as MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil’s likely collaborator on Neil’s upcoming solo album.
SCORPIONS’ latest album, “Unbreakable”, was released in the U.S. in June 2004 through Sanctuary Records. The CD was recorded at Peppermint Park Studio in Hannover, Germany and was mixed at Wisseloord studios in Hilversum, Holland.
New Black Sabbath track
The first single from the upcoming Black Sabbath release (April 3 on Rhino Records), Black Sabbath: The Dio Years is a track called The Devil Cried. It’s one of three new tracks recorded last fall.
The cool thing about Private Line is they have a sound that is a cross between 80’s and today’s hard rock. It is a sound that I think would appeal to most hard rock fans from both generations. Not all of the tracks are heavy on this disc. Some fall into an a pop metal/ pop rock vein, while staying more towards the rock side of the fence.
There are plenty of tracks to like here, and very little, if any filler. My current favorite tracks are Evel Knievel Factor, Broken Promised Land, Alive and Billion Star Hotel.
I think this is the kind of disc that will appeal to a lot of people, if they give it a couple of listens. You can find Evel Knievel Factor at NEH Records.com.
Here is the first video from this disc:
Broken Promised Land
Rating: Out of 10
- Prelude for the Daredevils
- Evel Knievel Factor
- Broken Promised Land
- Sound Advice
- The Sindicate
- Prozac Nation
- Gods of Rewind
- Billion Star Hotel
