BBSteal on the edgeOn the Edge is the debut CD by Australian Rockers, BB Steal.

The band BB Steal (Beg Borrow Steal) features Craig CSongrady on Vocals, Kevin Pratt on Guitar, James Young on Drums and Warren Masson on Bass Guitar.

This CD by is a disc that is becoming increasingly harder to find and has been selling for as much as $30.00 on Ebay as of late.

This disc was produced by Def Leppard’s Phil Collen. Phil must have had a major influence on this music as it sounds very much like early 90’s Def Leppard.BB Steal band pic

Would I consider this disc essential? That depends on your love for the band Def Leppard. If you like that band, then you will love BB Steal.

On The Edge has quite a few decent tracks, including Big Love, Suffer In Silence, Live It Up, and Love Me and Leave Me.

Live It Up

Love Me and Leave Me

RareRockRewindMediumCraig Csongrady has a style and sound that is very similar style to Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott. The guitars of Kevin Pratt have a big clean sound that is very pleasing to the ear.

On The Edge may not offer you anything that sounds completely original, but it an above average sounding melodic rock disc, and certainly one worth seeking out.

You can find more info on BB Steal at their website, BB Steal.com. or at the band’s myspace page here.

the best def lep clone ever ! Personally, I love “Big Love” , which could perfectly been on a Def Lep record .If u love the leps, you´ll love b.b steal. There´s an ep ,”heartbeat away” , wich includes 3 songs more a.o.r. oriented and less lep flavour .Cool band.

I think several of these guys were in Boss who did one Def Leppard inspired album in 1984. I have heard Boss, but not these guys.
