Y & T – Mean Streak (Release Year – 1983)

Mean Streak One of the bands that I am disappointed that I won’t get to see perform at the Rocklahoma Music Festival this year, is Calfornia’s East Bay rockers, Y&T.

I never was able to catch this band live, back in the 80’s, and would certainly get a kick out of seeing them perform now.

Y&T does not have any new material in 2007, however lead singer Dave Meniketti has remastered quite a bit of Y&T’s discography, and has re-released them with bonus tracks. These discs are mostly available through the band’s website here.Rocklahoma Small

The cd Mean Streak is still one of my favorites today. The title track is one fantastic rocking tune, that I am sure will be played live during the band’s live set.

Some of my other favorite cuts off this disc are Lonely Side of Town, Sentimental Fool, Breaking Away and Hang ’em High.

Dave Meniketti’s voice is one of a kind, and is guitar work on this disc is superb. Don’t even hesitate to pick up Meanstreak. It is a great hard rock CD.

For those of you in the North Eastern United States, that will miss the Rocklahoma live show, Y & T has a few live dates scheduled in Cleveland and in New York.
