3 Sammy Hagar / Craig Goldy/ Motley Crue in the news!
Sammy Hagar will bring his Cabo San Lucas-themed summer tour indoors to theaters this winter, Billboard.com has learned.
“We`re bringing the Cobo spirit to Christmas,” Hagar`s booking agent, Jonny Podell with the Podell Talent Agency tells Billboard.com. “The additional thrills normally associated with Hagar`s Cabo Wabo tour will include bikini girls in the lobby, Waborita bars, mariachi bands and many more surprises.”
An official itinerary is still in the works, but Podell says the outing, billed as “Cabo Wabo Presents the Red Rocker, Sammy Hagar and the Wabos,” will visit approximately 3,000-capacity venues in such cities as Chicago, St. Louis and Detroit. “These are some of his strongest markets, and instead of playing big [venues], we`re going to play multiple nights in theaters,” the agent says.
The tour is scheduled to begin in October and will run through May 5, 2008, when Hagar will perform at his Cabo Wabo Cantina in Lake Tahoe, Nev. Special guests on the tour will include Mad Anthony`s Express, Los Tres Gusanos and the Other Half, according to Podell.
A summer tour is expected to follow the theater dates. “He`s probably going to be on tour all year,” Podell says.
Hagar`s summer shed trek in 2006 grossed $3.4 million from 26 concerts, according to Billboard Boxscore. Nearly 184,000 fans attended the shows.

Craig Goldy on the Eddie Trunk Show Monday
DIO/HYDROGYN guitarist Craig Goldy will be a guest on Eddie Trunk’s show on XM Satellite Radio Channel 41, The Boneyard, on June 11 betweeen 6:00 p.m. and 9;00 p.m. EST. Goldy will talk about DIO, HYDROGYN and his Destiny Bridge project for up-and-coming artists.
Goldy recently stated regarding his decision to join West Virginia’s HYDROGYN, “While Ronnie [James Dio] is touring and recording with HEAVEN AND HELL I am proud to announce my journey with HYDROGYN. I am looking forward to writing, recording and touring with them during the all too often well known ‘hiatus’ of the band DIO.
“It’s quickly become much more than a one-off situation with HYDROGYN. During the negotiation process involved in our mutual desire to work together, we forged a strong bond that I believe will continue well into the future in all aspects of an endeavor such as this one has become.
“Upon Ronnie’s return I will be anxiously awaiting the writing, recording and touring that will follow and highly anticipating an awesome [DIO] CD release alongside my family Ronnie, Rudy, Simon and Scott. Until then I will be operating at my fullest potential with HYDROGYN with whom I’ve also been honored to form a long-term friendship with and build an alliance with DA Records and my program Destiny Bridge. It is my sincere hope and desire to continue in this capacity long into the future.”

No More Motley Crue shows until 2009?
NME.COM has posted part one of MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx’s press conference from this year’s Download festival, which is taking place June 8-10 at Donington Park, Leicestershire, England, Watch it at YouTube. On the topic of the group’s current touring schedule, Sixx said, “We love to play live. There’s only two more shows for us and we won’t be playing again until sometime next year, maybe ’09, depending on how it goes on making a record.”
According to Sound Generator, MÖTLEY CRÜE rocked the Dimebag Darrell Stage at Download on Saturday (June 9) in its own imitable style.
Crashing though a hits-led set, which opened with “Dr Feelgood” and closed with a cover of the SEX PISTOLS’ “Anarchy in the UK” sandwiched between “Girls, Girls, Girls” and “Kickstart My Heart”, the band was enjoying all the delights the festival had to offer.
“It has been a long time since we last played here and hot fuck we just keep coming back,” said singer Vince Neil, before Nixxi Sixx added: “England has made a lot progress on the groupie front since we were last here. I’ve just had two groupies backstage sucking my dick and they just happened to be sisters.”
