Stone Sour Band picOne of the earliest music reviews that I have written at the Hard Rock Hideout was for Stone Sour’s Come What(ever) May.

This band fronted by Slipknot singer, Corey Taylor and Jim Root has experienced a moderate level of success in 2006/2007. Their album has gone gold (over 500,000 units sold).

They have 2 Grammy Nominations, and 3 singles that have charted in the top 21 songs, including a #1 hit song, Through Glass.

Here are the four videos that the band released for Come What(ever) May.

HIMHIM’s video for their new single “Kiss of Dawn,” has a secret. Written as part of the original treatment by Director Meiert Avis, you must watch carefully because things are not what they seem – and just when you though you had it all figured out, there is more to find.  The video is exclusively available on iTunes today.  Once you watch the video go to heartagram.com to solve the mystery.  The person who cracks the code will get to see any HIM show of their choice in 2007 or 2008 and meet the band backstage.

HIM will release their new album, Venus Doom, on September 18th via Sire Records.

0 Silverchair sounding like U2?!

silvershairSilverchair has released a new CD, called Young Modern. The video for the song below left me scratching my head. On their debut CD, Frogstomp, they had more of a grunge type of sound.

I can appreciate an updated sound as a band matures, but this is drastically different, even for Silverchair.

On this new CD, their sound is a lot more like U2.

0 Tarsha turns down Adler’s Appetite tour

Sheldon Tarsha has posted the following at his website:

TarshaIn a recent interview, this is what Sheldon had to say
about the situation:

“Two weeks before Rocklahoma, Steven Adler and I spoke
for almost an hour on the phone. He apologized
profusely for derailing our European tour last year
and PROMISED me that he was going to pay me out of his
personal account “If not 20K at least 10K” to be in
the band and do the upcoming tour with him. I
postponed my show on July 13th that I had scheduled in
San Diego with my band (TARSHA) to be available to
play with Steven at Rocklahoma. I tried calling and
texting him several times as the date approached. I
got no call, no nothin’. He completely flaked on me
and never called!

It wasn’t till a couple days ago that I called his
brother Jamie. I told him and Steven’s new manager
that I’m not available to tour with Adler. They BEGGED
me to “At least play the Key Club show…” I told
them, I’m sorry guys, I’ve been on the rollercoaster
ride long enough. PLEASE find someone else. They said
“We want u and only u” blah blah blah… I texted them
back the next day and told them I need 5k up front to
do the tour. They immediately started in with “We
don’t have that kind of money…We’re not rich like u
might think…” I told them that if I was gonna be
involved, I need to know that Adler’s Appetite is a
serious band with plans for real success. They told me
“I thought you said it’s not about the money, which is
it?” I told them it’s about the commitment, not only
to me and the fans, but the overall success of the
project. I told them that if they don’t plan on going
all the way, I don’t want to be involved.” They had no
response.

I’m extremely focused right now with my new band
TARSHA. The current album ‘PROPHECIES’ is selling
worldwide with the first single DIRTY in the Top 10 on
the global radio charts for 25 weeks now on Live365
Radio. I recently signed with national booking agency
AFM ENTERTAINMENT (CELLDWELLER, DEADSTAR ASSEMBLY,
SPYDER BABY) to schedule a North American tour for
TARSHA across the US and Canada in 2006. I’ve been in
the studio working on new songs for the next TARSHA
album which is more than halfway complete and will be
released in 2008.

I wish Adler the best of luck and I hope all the fans
I made touring with Adler’s Appetite will check out my
new music and support my new album.”
