Today’s Video Showdown puts Cinderella up against Cinder Road.
You Decide the Winner!!
Cinderella has been strangely absent from the music scene since the last tour with Poison in 2006. Eric Brittingham has been playing in a band with his wife Inga, called Naked Beggars in the down time of Cinderella.
Newcomers Cinder Road released a new CD, Superhuman and have been road warriors in 2007. They are currently on the Armed Forces Entertainment tour in Europe. In 2008, they are going to open up for Tesla, on several of the band’s 2008 U.S. tour dates.
Here is the latest video from Cinder Road, called Get In, Get Out.
One of the last videos from Cinderella came from the band’s CD, Heartbreak Station.
The video below is for the song, The More Things Change.
Which video/song/band do you like better?

Nasty Pistolero has become the new bass player for the Worlds greatest Flamenco Sleaze Glam Punk Rock n Roll group GYPSY PISTOLEROS !
Nasty hails from Finland and is moving to the U.K from Sweden to join the band!
His previous bands were Cherry Slutz & The Negatives (Sweden).
Bluebeard is a band that didn’t get the recognition they deserved during this era of rock. They have shared the stage with several big name acts, but never gained the success and fame that the headlining acts gained. The band has a couple of discs that were preleased prior to Deluxe With Reverb, one of which Bad Dream captures hundreds of dollars for a copy on EBay in 2007.
After the tragic death of Bluebeard’s singer, Robert Barry Leach in 2004, the band regrouped to put together Deluxe With Reverb.
I must admit that I didn’t have any expectations with this record, and as a result, I was pleasantly surprised.
Deluxe With Reverb sounds like a 70’s classic rock record. With this set of tunes, you get heavy guitar riffs, melodic keyboards and excellent musicianship all the way through. The only issue that I found with this disc, is the production value is not what it should be. For an independent release, it is acceptable.
With a better produced record, and a little label support, this L.A. based rock group could be going places. Deluxe With Reverb is a solid debut, and is one that all classic rock fans need to pick up. You can preview several tracks at Bluebeard’s myspace page!

I have been listening to a little bit of Buckcherry as of late, and much to my surprise, more and more videos are being re-released on youtube.
The video below is for the song Check Your Head, from the 1999 Self Titled disc. This album didn’t get the proper support it deserved, so chances are, you are seeing this video for the first time, like me.

It has been a long time since I have heard any new music featuring Rowan Robertson on guitar. If that name seems familiar, it should. Rowan was the 17 year old wunderkind that Ronnie James Dio brought in to play on his album, Lock Up The Wolves. I enjoyed that disc, so when I found out that the brothers Duncan (Jeff, Shawn and Matt) tabbed Rowan to join them in DC4, I had to give their sophomore effort, Explode a spin.
Jeff Duncan who handles the lead vocals in DC4, also doubles as a guitarist in the metal band Armored Saint. I can definitely hear John Bush’s influence on Jeff Duncan’s Style. Duncan doesn’t quite have the range of Bush, but he is a very solid vocalist. DC4 isn’t quite as heavy as Armored Saint, but they are decent enough!
Explode is a solid slab of 80’s style metal, but it is not without its problems. The music on Explode is a little repetitious at times, and was mixed with the bass being a little too heavy, and the guitars a little too downplayed. When the guitars of Jeff Duncan and Rowan Robertson are allowed to shine, they usually do. I was hoping to hear more songs with some good guitar solos built in, and there are not enough of them on this record.
My favorite cuts on this disc are the title track, Explode, God Complex and Long Hard Road to Lost. After several listens, the song Candy Cane really got in my head, and Experiment started growing on me quite a bit.
You won’t find anything new musically with Explode, but if you are looking for a new disc to rock out with, this should get it done for you.

Allied Forces is the only CD in the Triumph discography to go platinum (one million units sold) in the United States.
There are quite a few killer hits on this disc, including Magic Power, Fight the Good Fight and Say Goodbye.
The ultra-cool, title track Allied Forces is one of the heaviest numbers Triumph has ever done.
My only problem with this CD are the two tracks Air Raid, is nothing more than a song intro, and Petite Etude, is an extremely short acoustic guitar track. I could have used a couple of more tracks on this disc, but it is such a small issue, it is hardly worth mentioning.
With only seven true cuts on this disc, it makes it a short listening experience, but a very good one.
Rik Emmet’s voice is amazing on this record. He hits the high notes unlike any other singer in rock music today. His guitar playing is second to none. He handles all of the 6 string and 12 string guitars on Allied Forces. His solos and guitar work in general is something that you have to experience over and over.
I have heard the songs off of Allied Forces, hundreds of times on rock radio over the years, and I never tire of hearing of them. It never ceases to amaze me how great this three piece band sounds.
Allied Forces is a must own record. It is absolute classic disc that no rock fan should be without.

Royal Hunt’s Collision Course…Paradox II
After 8 studio albums, 3 live albums/DVD´s and a few special releases (EP´s, compilations etc.) – combined sales over 1,5 million copies – the band decided to produce a sequel to their critically acclaimed release from 1997 “Paradox” (an album, which in a majority of respected publications like: Metal Hammer, Burrn, Break Out, Classic Rock, Metal Edge etc., was honourably mentioned as one of the most essential albums of the 90´s).
The sequel (Collision Course… Paradox II) takes off from the idea and atmosphere of its predecessor but – without a doubt – sounds charged to go for 2007. No ammunition’s being saved for this one – 6 months of recordings in NorthPoint Studio, mix at EMI Studios, best musicianship possible (the band was there to define the term neo-prog with their first release back in 1991) and even a bunch of good friends as participants: Doogie White (Rainbow, Y. Malmsteen), Ian Parry (Elegy, Consortium Project), Kenny Lubcke (Jokers Wild, Narita), Henrik Brockmann (ex-Royal Hunt, Evil Masquerade) among others. And yes, there are female voices, real violins, cellos and woodwinds thrown in for good measure. With this album ROYAL HUNT is introducing their new lead singer Mark Boals (ex-Y. Malmsteen, Ring Of Fire). His great voice and talent, plus many years of experience are perfect fit for the band.
Andre Andersen comments on the band’s website: “Album is done. It’s such a great feeling to finally be able to hold your new “baby” in your hands (weird at the same time… looking at this tiny CD, knowing how much time and money went into its creation). And a bit sad at the same time – we had such a blast making it, there’s been tons and tons of great moments in the process: countless barbeques and other assorted “nights out”, a bunch of dear friends/guests who joined us along the way and even the fact that all of us – for almost 6 months period – had this album as a cornerstone of our lives, the goal which we were working so hard to achieve – as a unit. I know, I know it sounds sentimental but there’s always that bittersweet feeling than the job is done and you’re looking back at the process…But now it’s all history – for us, at least. For you there’s another album to discover and – hopefully – to enjoy, and we all wish you the latter… in spades”.
The lyrical concept is as controversial as the original “Paradox” – this time concentrating on a “collision course” of modern Western world and “a new breed”, grown on Eastern religious movements. Musically you’ll have it all – album runs in a “non stop” fashion (all songs are chained together): there are huge epics, intricate progressive arrangements and all good things metal with killer melodies… and there will be videos… and a concert tour. Combine all this with an astonishing line-up and a grand scale production, and you’ve got a winner: ROYAL HUNT is about to reinvent this style of music – don’t miss it. Frontiers Records will release in Europe “Collision Course…. Paradox II” on March 14th 2008, with more details to be announced at a later stage.

The band was signed to Geffen records and released a couple of albums in the late 80’s.
Fire Fire is the second and final release by this four piece metal band. The band lost their deal with Geffen and broke up after this record was released. Their current whereabouts are unknown. Fire Fire is a very slicked produced record. EZO sounds like a million bucks on this disc. The tunes fall between somewhere between hard rock and heavy metal, and is in the vein of Loudness. Shoyo Iida’s fretwork does not disappoint on this record. Masaki Yamada is an above average singer/screamer. He even had a brief stint in Loudness
Fire Fire is a pretty good record for the most part. My favorite cuts are Love Junkie, the title track Fire Fire, Streetwalker, and Million Miles Away.
Both EZO records are a chore to find. If you are able to grab either one at a decent price, do so. They are pulling down big bucks on Ebay and on Amazon.com. Happy Hunting!

LEGENDARY THRASHERS ANTHRAX ANNOUNCE NEW SINGER + TWO CLASSIC ALBUMS AVAILABLE ONLINE DEC 18!!
Anthrax is excited and proud to introduce their new singer, Dan Nelson. Nelson is a virtual unknown, having fronted several local bands in the Long Island/New York area in the past. Says drummer Charlie Benante, “Rob [Caggiano] called me and said, ‘I have a singer, you should check him out.’ We gave him a shot, and he floored us.”
After a successful reunion tour with former singer Joey Belladonna in 2006, there were rumors of recording a new album with that lineup. However, talks fell through and the band was left, once again, without a singer. Enter Dan Nelson.
“I was actually looking for a band,” commented Nelson. “Long Island, NY is a pretty dead scene. I was in Unbroken, and through that I met Rob a couple years ago. I had gone through some stuff on a personal side where I took time off from the music. When I got back to the scene, I couldn’t find a band, so I contacted Rob through MySpace and offered my services. We sent music back and forth, got together, and jammed for 10 hours straight. After 10 hours, he said, ‘I think you’d be right for Anthrax.”
“There’s no place else I’d rather be right now,” Nelson said. “It’s a great vibe. I feel great, and I’m ready to go. It’s lit that much more of a fire under me. I’m getting to live the dream, and it feels amazing. I can’t wait for all these people who think Anthrax is done to be proven wrong. The naysayers are gonna be shut down, and the true blue fans are gonna be pleased.”
Guitarist Scott Ian commented on the new singer saying, “It feels great working with Dan. The first time we jammed, we ran through a bunch of old songs, songs from the John Bush/Joey Belladonna eras. Right from the first second Dan started “Room For One More” we knew. We said, ‘Now that we’ve got that, let’s work his ass off.”
Anthrax, featuring Nelson on vocals, guitarists Ian and Rob Caggiano, bassist Frankie Bello, and drummer Benante, is currently working on all-new material. “We wrote these songs and they fucking kicked ass,” says Benante. “It was cathartic. We also want to take our time. This record will be under the microscope, more so than the others. We want to make sure it’s 100% perfect.”
Also, two classic Anthrax records – “Sound of White Noise” and “Stomp 442” – are going to be available on iTunes on December 18. They will be expanded editions with bonus tracks, and it’s the first time the records will be released digitally. The online versions of the albums will also include commentary tracks from the band members themselves!
Anthrax has not yet announced a release date for an upcoming album, but the band is in the middle of the writing process, so stay tuned for more updates!! Be sure to check out “Sound of White Noise” and “Stomp 442” on iTunes beginning December 18!!

Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of KHYMERA’s third album “The Greatest Wonder” on February 22nd, 2008!
Born as studio project featuring Kansas’ Steve Walsh and Italian multi-instrumentist Daniele Liverani (Genius), Khymera reaches now the third chapter with its ultimate evolution in a stable band’s lineup and musical concept.
With British twin brothers Tom and James Martin (HOUSE OF LORDS, TED POLEY) working on the complete songwriting and a line-up that – following the amazing responses gathered by the second album “A New Promise” – features again Liverani’s keyboards prowess, Dennis Ward, Tommy Ermolli on guitars and Dario Ciccioni (HARTMANN) on drums, KHYMERA offers one of the most shining examples of what European Melodic Rock is all about: crystal clear production, soaring vocals, killer musicianship and a songwriting that reminds the heydays of the genre when bands like GIUFFRIA, ICON, FM and SIGNAL ruled the airwaves ! (PINK CREAM 69) on bass and vocals,
Ivory-tinkler Daniele Liverani says: “It was a great journey to produce and arrange these songs provided by the Martin brothers. I tried to give the songs the full and warm sound of the ’80s with my keyboard work, but with a touch of modern style. Both Dario on drums and Tommy on guitars did a great job and of course Dennis delivered some incredible vocals and bass too. I truly think this new album is a step ahead for us as a band. With every album we gel better and better together. I can’t wait to start working on the next chapter and hopefully to perform some shows during the new year!”.
Just like the previous record “A New Promise” delivered a killer melodic rock selection, the new one adds a richer and more mature songwriting along, with truly outstanding musicianship and huge production.
Dario Ciccioni – Tommy Ermolli – Dennis Ward – Daniele Liverani
“The Greatest Wonder” final tracklisting includes:
Ablaze (intro); Beautiful Life; Borderline; Burn Out; Since You Went Away; Love Has Been And Gone; No Sacrifice; The Greatest Wonder; Fight For Yesterday; If I Can’t Be; Love Will Find You; Stay Forever; The Other Side
Click on the highlighted tracks above to preview the new songs!
The next step for KHYMERA will be the debut as live unit on stage and plans are already underway for a live debut in the European melodic festivals of 2008.
“The Greatest Wonder” will be released in Japan on King Records and in the USA on Locomotive Records.

The seems to be resurgence of classic rock bands in this decade, and judging from the sound of Hex, Bigelf is one of the better ones. Bigelf’s Hex has been available in Europe for quite some time, and was recently released in the Unites States.
Bigelf has a sound that is best described as a mixture between Ozzy era Black Sabbath, and Pink Floyd. (Yes, you read that right.)
Usually, when bands tap into that heavy stoner rock elements found in so many Sabbath tunes, they end up sounding like a poor copy, and nothing else. Bigelf manages to tap into that sound and make it something completely different. The layer of keyboards throughout Bigelf’s tunes gives the band a heavy sound without being too melodic. It is a sound that has more in common with 70’s rock than anything from this decade, and that is cool.
There are a few killer cuts on this record, including Mad Hatter, Pain Killer and Disappear.
Hex is a CD worth exploring. It has a bunch of heavy stoner rock moments, and then at times will head into a trippy Pink Floyd meets the Beatles direction. It seems with each spin of Hex, it continues to get better. It is definitely a CD that will grow on you with time. The music is the strong point on Hex, and it delivers all the way through.
Put a new elf under your X-Mas tree this year, and give Big Elf’s Hex a spin for yourself.
You can hear more songs at Bigelf’s myspace page. I have included two videos from Hex below!

Vince Neil’s Motley Cruise has added yet another amazing band to it’s lineup of performers. Los Angeles, CA, based EndeverafteR will join Vince, RATT, Skid Row, Slaughter and LYNAM on board the Carnival Imagination in January to perform for passengers of the sold out cruise.
Endeverafter toured throughout 2006 with Poison and Cinderella as part of their 20th Anniversary tour, and are currently on the road with Fuel and Trapt. The quartet’s latest release “Kiss Or Kill” (Razor & Tie) is in stores now, and their new single “I Wanna Be Your Man” is climbing up the rock charts.
Departing from Miami on January 24, 2008, Vince Neil’s Motley Cruise will set sail for the Mayan Riviera, stopping by Key West, before making its way to Cozmel, Mexico! An array of exclusive events, including meet-and-greets with the artists, wet and wild shore excursions in Key West and Cozumel, and a no-limit Texas Hold ‘Em charity poker tournament, and a one-of-a-kind live charity auction benefitting Vince’s Skylar Neil Memorial Foundation, will also be held. All of this takes place on board a world-class Carnival cruise with fine dining and 24-hour room service, full-service casino, beautiful swimming pools, spa, gym and other great amenities.
Yes, that’s right, the same band that brought you Stick To Your Guns, and Temptation is back in action.
The Lost Tapes is a collection of tunes that were intended for release long before 2007 but have not seen the light of day until now.
I have to admit, that I didn’t have a whole lot of expectations for this record. I didn’t enjoy the last record Temptation as much as the debut effort, and was a little leery about this one.
I can proudly say that this disc has exceeded all of my expectations.
This is a fine collection of tunes that in many ways surpasses the debut effort, Stick To Your Guns. My only complaint is that this disc is missing the slick production of the first two releases. That shouldn’t keep you from picking up a copy of this record. It is worth the money, if you like hard rocking, party tunes. The Lost Tapes is the kind of release that makes you want to throw a party, and crack open a few beers.
Some of my favorites off of this record are Just One Kiss, Cheap Wine and Gasoline, and Dancing By The Light of The Moon,
